  • The only change to ptb I would make would be to have all the perks unlocked on the new killer and survivor. This way new stuff could be better tested

  • Crossplay, new matchmaking which i feel is being tested more than we think. Thats why the rediculous rainbow matchmaking lately. New chapter obviously. Roadmap. Not sure whatelse they could cram in there

Yeah I know that. I also know that he said he is not a reliable source for information though. And it definitely doesn’t equal „they said it’s not candyman“

Not arguing with you. Just trying to answer your question. To my knowledge he is the only one that said that. People tend to take his word as gospel though because of his track record.

I somewhat agree with him as the new candyman movie comes out closer the the next chapter. That would be better marketing then releasing it now before the movie hype even starts.

  • I beleive the black liquid is just how they decided to render the tallymarks. As all the teaser skulls line up exactly with the tallymarks from the game.

Although, if you want to say the black liquid is significant, in Prometheus, the engineers have black blood. The engineers created the xenomorphs. Prometheus was a prequel to the Alien franchise. So that ties in.

Also, a TV show called the 100 uses black blood to portray some radiation resistant people.

Im sure there are more i just dont know off the top of my head.

I didn’t know that. When/where did they say that?

Last i heard only scott jund a content creator said that. Hes been right for the past 4 killers so people give some weight to his words

    I do ignore them.

But your “no different from other games” comment clearly doesn’t stand when as I said, the majority of mine are FROM this game. I know toxicity can exist everywhere online, as people love to hide behind a screen and act tough. I just find it strange that I rarely get messaged on other ACTIVE online games...

Everyone needs to stop ignoring this stuff and report it. If the people who do it are punished for it enough we may can have a polite society.

  • Be able to jump on top of walls at tiles, or run along walls for a limited duration. With a shred like attack.

Stunning the killer would inflict deep wounds because of acid blood. Though that would be a good perk too.

If we get the queen, maybe she can place eggs like traps that trigger and cause the survivor to struggle while getting them off. Tie it into a power where if a survivor triggered a certain number of traps, they can be morid on death hook.

Running on 4 legs but lose tracking like legion

  • Chapter - The wiggles

    Killer - Captain Feathersword

Survivor - All the wiggles depending on cosmetics. Blue wiggle (anthony) by default.

  • Passive sleep pauses during chase. Have to be hit to fall asleep. That's it

    Jason - Cons

    1) Lawsuit - Obviously. Getting sued isn't a good business strategy

    2) Boring - He is a simplistic killer that does nothing but hit people. (I mean that's all Myers did. Except when he put the sheet on in the first movie. Still want that cosmetic)

    3) Too Powerful - Have to be dumbed down to the point of watering down the essence of the killer.

    4) Trapper - A completely non-issue i shall ignore for the rest of eternity.

    5) Hooks - Make no sense to hook people. (I don't think it makes sense for any of the roster but that's just me)

1-lawsuit is easily avoidable if they don't use elements from the first movie, "boy who drowned" and "pamela vorhees" for example. The jason we know is basically all good to use.

2-jason is not boring, he's probably the most creative killer when it comes to slasher movies

3-same for myers or freddie... not a big deal... otherwise there would be no licensed dlc in the game.

    4-great

5-literally everyone on the roster but leatherface.

    Xenomorph - Cons

    1) Not horror. True but i argue put them on the ground and replace the alien with a dude with a knife and you have instant horror movie. But no not classified as horror

    2) To powerful. Yes they are strong and agile.

    3) Doesn't fit DBD themes.

    1-

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/FBEW856DCEQP/img-20200415-005454.jpg

    How is Alien not horror?

2-same thing that any license faces.

3-yes it does. Specially after the demogorgon got in.

I should state that many of the cons i listed are things that people have stated in these forums. I kind of gathered them all.

The only thing I would say as far as Jason being boring is that he would most likely play like any other m1 killer. Xenomorph i think brings more to the table. And i really really wanted Jason before i thought about alien

Man y'all search for any hope you can. Any true Jason fan DOES NOT want him here, because they butcher iconic killers and turn them into punching bags. Is that REALLY what you want to see happen to Jason? Him just doing circles around loops, getting pallets dropped on his head, getting clicky-clicky into pointed at into butt dancing, etc, etc. I'm done discussing this. Believe what you want. Hell, I guess we could get scooby-doo and the gang on here too, with space ghost going coast to coast as the killer. If they do SOMEHOW manage to get around the legal hell, this is one I won't buy. He already has his own game that fits his actual style. He does not fit into dbd besides him being "Jason". Downing people and putting them on a hook is the stupidest thing you could have Jason do. I bet he would be a 110 killer also. Prove me wrong...

The same argument can be made for every 'killer' in the game except maybe leatherface. Possibly Freddy as he likes to play with his victims. Why would nurse hook someone? Or legion? Or trapper? Hooking makes zero sense at all for almost the entire roster of characters who kill people.

I am a true jason fan and i would love to see him. Played his game a couple times and hated it.

Camping and letting survivors bleed out is reasonable in your situations but when you bring insidous and facecamp at 5 gens, you do it to ruin the survivors fun not to 4k. which is why i feel like what the op did is justified

Theres an expression, 'Take an eye for an eye and leave the whole world blind'

Be the bigger person, win with dignity amd maybe the community as a whole may get a little less putrid.

At least that's mt theory. You do you of course

  • Hard to see keys on console and with items as they are, i quit running Franklin's.

As survivor i play more cautious. Crouch more run less. Break all the totems.

  • You did nothing wrong by beating her and all escaping. She got punished for camping by getting zero kills.

You ran her for 3 gens. I would say that she wasn't a very good killer or spirit at the very least.

    Demolishing her was enough.

I always take the high ground so Tbagging and clicking at the exit gates was in my opinion a crappy thing to do.

    Look at it like this,

She used a perk as intended.

You used an item to intentionally grief the killer. As well as using the crouch mechanic in such a way as to intentionally grief the killer.

I will ask you, who is more wrong and intentionally violating code of conduct behavior?

(Not judging you, i have learned to ignore it, just answering your question as honestly as possible)

  • 1. Jason

    2. Xenomorph

    3. Jack Frost

4-6 candy man, pennywise, pyramid head

    1. Jason is so iconic he transcends the horror genre and is known throughout popculture. Of the big 3, he's the biggest. Have always loved him.

    2. Xenomorph again transcends the sci-fi genre. If you look at the structure of the films, and put it on earth you have a horror movie. Its only sci-fi because, space. As long as they dont make it a demogorgon clone I would be happy.

    3. Killer snowman. Completely underrated and ignored!

4-6. Havent seen any of the movies nor played the game. As for pennywise, except for runningman, i hate Stephen king.

  • Most of her bulk was when she was attached to the egg thing. Once she ripped free, she wasnt that much bigger.

Plus, clown was a normal guy and he towers over survivors. It seems size doesn't matter.....in this game anyway

  • For all we kniw we could get the queen. Shes a bit slower i think. She could even drop eggs like trapper or hag and have survivors struggle getting the face huggers off.

As for climbing? Well maybe she would be able to climb over the small loops. On a timer or cool down.

Acid blood wouldn't come into play unless maybe if she's stunned the survivor suffers from deep wounds.

Just thoughts off the top of my head

  • Me. Dedicated to a gen while a myers was staring at me. Turns out he had infinite tier 3. I pretty much single handedly threw that game for the whole team.

  • I played doc to get the make survivors scream challenge. He makes those challenges so easy lol. There was one person who kept running after me trying to get my attention. When i did turn on her (meg) she didn't even run. Guess she just wanted it over without the DC. So i would zap her and slug her and go after someone else. After the 2nd time she gave up and started contributing. I eventually hooked her after everyone else was 2 hooked. She really didn't want to eat that DC penalty i guess.

  • @Bovinity said:

Last 3 games of the night, final survivor got the hatch after hiding while the last 2 people died.

Sure, it's totally not helpful to survivors at all.

Didnt help the 2 that died lol

  • Just go iri head huntress. No fun for anyone!

  • @KingFrost said:

Thanks for all the advice. Finally got it thanks to a survivor who let me hit them a couple times at the exit. Still need to learn to do better, cause I'm guessing we're getting more hatchet challenge in Tier 3 and 4 of the tome. Probably shouldn't play two games in a row as her to avoid frustration, though.

Actually playing MANY games as her in a row is absolutely necessary. I play her pretty much exclusively except for challenges and dailys and still have a hard time hitting things.

    @Peanits said:

Patience, practice and charging your hatchets.

There's going to be times when you're realistically not going to be able to use your hatchets, mostly around tall unsafe loops. You don't want to pull out a hatchet every time, you just want to get these out of the way as soon as possible. Meanwhile things like shack become a lot less safe since committing to the pallet or the window is basically a free hit.

Charging hatchets makes the fly straighter and way faster. You don't want to lob unless you absolutely have to (usually if you're right next to them).

But most of all, it just takes practice. There's no secret tip that'll change everything. You're not going to be great with her right away. Pretty much everyone you see who does really well with her put in a ton of time to get to that point. She's not easy by any means, arguably one of the hardest (if not the hardest) killers in the game. Don't sweat it if you have some bad matches at first, you'll get the hang of it eventually.

Actually nurse is harder to me. With huntress you can still chase someone down and mindgame to m1. Nurse is pure frustration, especially on console and controller.

Please bring back old hatch. 🙏

Man I loved a good hatch stand off vs. EGC certain death.

Killers have this end game ######### so easy.

Boggles my ######### mind they have the balls to complain, still.

I wish you'd play killer some. Learn some perspective.

That being said, the best end game strategy as last one standing is to not even bother with the hatch.

Sute doors spawn really close sometimes but as a survivor, rank 4 cause i cant run for #########, Ive only had a handful if occurrences where the doors were so clise together i couldn't open one of them and escape.

The hatch is a chance but if you place everything on it you are, by design going to lose without a key.

If you want a chest to spawn at the end with a key in it thats fine. But hatch standoffs were much more of an issue than EGC

  • I would buy a dlc for that lol

  • Heres my last survivor technique. Doesnt always work but it does quute frequently

    1) i never camp hatch. Most games i never see it.

    2) if last person dies and i hear it while making my way to an exit gate i will take it. If not i dont care

    3) sit near gate and wait for killer to clise hatch

    4) continue ti sit near door until killer comes to check it

    5) open gate for 4 seconds then go and hide again

    6) wait for killer to patrol again

    7) open gate and escape.

Even if killer does come back most times i have enough time to open gate and escape while getting hit once thanks to spine chill

Doesn't always work. Door placement or killer with whispers can screw it up, but to me its better than hoping i make it to the hatch before the killer

  • Since you are getting leatherface....BBQ on everyone all the time. #thegrindsucksballs!

  • @Mooks said:

the only problem with this mechanic is that this situation almost certainly prevents you from getting an Adept achievement.. other than that: it’s a game (!) and that is not a totally free escape. You have to be the last survivor left, you have to find the hatch first without getting found before that or you have to open the gate while the killer can always interrupt you. It’s also commonly acknowledged that this is still a win-condition for the killer and a loose-condition for the survivor-team.

Or if you're monto it will just pop up right next to you.

  • I hear about these bleed out sluggers constantly but have yet to actually come across them.

Seriously, how often does this truly occur? Dc's were in almost EVERY game before penalties.

  • While i love the oldies, not sure how they would fit this in. The creature was fun, but he swims. Thats it. Its the same as Aquaman in the desert.

Not saying you are wrong and the theory is cool, just i dont beleive it. Now if you said nosferatu.....

  • Im fine hust being able to cimpete at this point. My killer matches are either all new players who i floor stomp easily, or red ranks who decimate me. Very few grindy nail biters. I don't mind losing if i feel like i had a chance from the start.

  • i think just remove tier 1 from perks. That would cut the grind by a third.

  • @Danu said:

The problem is that that statement isn't entirely true either about it being balanced for survivor, it's very easy to just win the game by camping.

Otzdarva recently did an experiment on this, it was initially meant to be about noed and proving how easy it was to win the game by doing the laziest strategy possible: camp hooks and then endgame with noed. The problem in the first few games was that the camping strategy was so effective that a lot of times the game didnt even make it to the stage where noed came into play and he ended up having to drop the pure camping aspect of his trials to start to prove anything about noed.

I understand that 1)Otz's killer skill isn't representitive of the whole killer base for downing survivors to camp in the first place and 2) killers are still punished for hook proximity and 3) there is a lot of variation between games but the fact that camping made it so consistently easy to get 3-4k every match in the first place with very little if any other actions says something about how balanced it can be.

That being said I know it's a hard gameplay issue to address because there's no mechanic you can really implement to prevent it that wouldn't be completely unfair to all killers in general and it's not fair to punish killers for the actions of a portion of the playerbase either

Didn't watch the otz video, but what makes camping 'successful' for killers are the hero survivors that throw the game to save that person. Think of it like this, the killer is handing you 3/6th of survivor objective by hanging out by the hook for 2 minutes.

If everyone stopped feeding themselves to the camper, it would stop being such an issue.

  • @OmegaXII said:

Well.. huntress is one of my least played killer, so i don't really understand her.

Majority of the videos i watched have a particular add-on that increases wind up speed. Is it really required?

No. Base kit huntress can deal with all teams depending on skill of the player running her

  • Technically the entity was just taking back it's property. You were the real thief

  • License - Student Bodies

Survivor - While inside the terror radius of the killer for 40/30/20 seconds and not in a chase gain a token maximum 1. While crouching press the activate ability button to place a wad of chewed gum where you are standing. This action consumes the token. When the killer steps in the gum, their movement speed is reduced by 50% for 3 seconds.

"5 letter word for stealth like?" - Malvin

Killer - Horse Head Bookends - Sometimes you have to use the tools available to you. This perk activates for 40/50/60 seconds after a survivor is hooked. While this perk is active you can interact with an object on the map to booby trap it. The first survivor who interacts with the booby trapped object is put into the injured state. An injured survivor who interacts with the booby trapped object becomes broken for 30 seconds. This perk has a cool down of 60 seconds.

"I'd like to kill the kid with the gum!" - The Breather

  • BBQ is fine.

WGLF needs rework. Something like tying it to emblems. Do a gen get a token. Win a chase? Get a token. Unhook someone get a token. Heal someone get a token. Only one of each. Basically play a normal game get tokens

The point is; you can remove that if you want, but people still have other ways to disconnect. Removing the button doesn't stop it, it just makes it more difficult to leave if you ever need to.

Actually, having a disconnect button officially coded into the game gives the appearance that disconnecting is OK to do. Especially with no text there warning about DC penalties. That is why i will always advocate for the removal of that button. Yes people can still close the game to DC.

In an emergency are people really going to take the time to open the menu and click in disconnect then shut the game down and then shut the machine off before leaving?

I mean, you give people an option to disconnect then penalize them for using it. Yet PC players can adjust files in the coding (that don't give any advantages) and it's ok. It makes no sense.

  • Also, people level up survivors to 40 to unlock perks and never touch them again. So when there initial stockpile is gone, that's it

  • Same reason blendettes like to hang out in bushes and urban evade around the map. Or dwights like to dance conga lines in the basement.

Or survivors group up with old balanced landing and burn haddonfield.

    Everyone enjoys different things.

  • I just want killers to be able to shoot the exit gate dance troupes the bird.

  • Lerys. 4 games in a row with no offerings. I hate that map lol

  • I got my first penalty this weekend. Match ended and said disconnected from server. Everyone got bloodpoints but the killer.

Looked through the store, spent some blood points and was back in after my short timeout.

Hope that doesn't happen much more. I've only dc'd once and it was due to running halfway down haddonfield road and rubber banding back to the beginning. Multiple times. That was a year ago.

    @csandman1977

I am with you, I think DS is fine.

I fail to understand why some people have a hard time just slugging the DS person which has been proven to work PLUS you slow down the game. I just think at this point these DS discussions are getting out of hand, like everything doesn’t need to be nit-picked to a T.

As a killer if I wanna camp let me camp, or if I wanna tunnel let me tunnel... if the person brought a perk to counter that (good for them), I will adjust my playstyle accordingly. I just hate feeling like everyone needs to play “nice” or “fair” when it is a game and all you can do is adjust to each individual situation.

P.S. The reason I even brought up slugging is mostly because I think it is overly abused but not one soul that wants to talk about how DS is “unfun” wants to talk about that. Which is disgusting when you think about the fact that DS is a perk and Slugging is an in game feature available for every match.

I think the slugging comes down to matchmaking. I think a lot of killers, especially begginer or just newer killers, just always feel over their heads with constantly getting matched with people well above their skill level.

Slugging just helps control the game sometimes

1 … 18 19 20 21 22 … 39
