Jason versus xenomorph
Tossing my hat into the speculative race. So the top 5 predictions i keep seeing are pennywise, candyman, Jason, xenomorph, pyramid head.
Im going to focus on jason and xenomorph as i never saw candyman, never played silent hill, and hate Stephen king. That leaves Jason and Xenomorph.
So im going to break it down to pros and cons for each.
Jason - Cons
1) Lawsuit - Obviously. Getting sued isn't a good business strategy
2) Boring - He is a simplistic killer that does nothing but hit people. (I mean that's all Myers did. Except when he put the sheet on in the first movie. Still want that cosmetic)
3) Too Powerful - Have to be dumbed down to the point of watering down the essence of the killer.
4) Trapper - A completely non-issue i shall ignore for the rest of eternity.
5) Hooks - Make no sense to hook people. (I don't think it makes sense for any of the roster but that's just me)
Pros
1) Iconic - Jason is a fixture in pop culture. I still see hockey masks at Halloween despite not having anything new in years.
2) Variety - Jason thrived with the many different ways he killed people. Which opens the door for unique abilities
3) Customizable - So many different looks through the years. We could actually have a licensed killer with many visual options
4) Powerful - He has everything a good killer needs in this game. Map pressure, chase potential and an open door on moris. The devs have a lot to work with.
Summary - The biggest con is the lawsuit which if what ive researched is correct only accounts for the 1st movie which Jason does not appear in. At least not the Jason we know and love. The other cons i listed would be up to the developers to deliver fun answers for. The brand recognition, the icon status, the customization potential, all reward behavior with an almost guarantee cash cow.
Xenomorph - Cons
1) Not horror. True but i argue put them on the ground and replace the alien with a dude with a knife and you have instant horror movie. But no not classified as horror
2) To powerful. Yes they are strong and agile.
3) Doesn't fit DBD themes.
Pros
1) Iconic. You cant argue this one. Alien was an instant hit spanning decades.
2) Powerful but with abilities that can add new things to the game.
3) Hooks, this actually has a canon reason to hook people as in the movies they are shown to hang people on walls while waiting for the chest pop
4) Map, horror in space is amazing. Dead space anyone? Event horizon? You cant be anymore isolated than in space. A derelict nostromo would have the chance to be a unique and atmospheric map
5) Demogorgon, opened the way for non human killers. They can totally take advantage of this
Summery - The cons i listed arent really cons depending on the creativity of the Devs. The pros far outweigh the cons.
Conclusions - Both these characters would be great additions. If you asked me 3 weeks ago i would have fought for jason beyond anything else. However as things ran around in my head i would rather have a Xenomorph. The gameplay as an alien has the potential to change the game in much better ways. Stun the killer get deep wounds because of acid blood. Climbing over loops and pigs ambush from the ceiling? I still want Jason at some point. As he is THE iconic killer in my mind. Im just aboard the alien hype-rspaceship at the moment.

I had to quit reading after I read "I hate Stephen King".
we all have our opinion....yours are just wrong! Lol. Joking by the way.

1-lawsuit is easily avoidable if they don't use elements from the first movie, "boy who drowned" and "pamela vorhees" for example. The jason we know is basically all good to use.
2-jason is not boring, he's probably the most creative killer when it comes to slasher movies
3-same for myers or freddie... not a big deal... otherwise there would be no licensed dlc in the game.
4-great
5-literally everyone on the roster but leatherface.
Xenomorph - Cons
1) Not horror. True but i argue put them on the ground and replace the alien with a dude with a knife and you have instant horror movie. But no not classified as horror
2) To powerful. Yes they are strong and agile.

1-
How is Alien not horror?
2-same thing that any license faces.
3-yes it does. Specially after the demogorgon got in.
I should state that many of the cons i listed are things that people have stated in these forums. I kind of gathered them all.
The only thing I would say as far as Jason being boring is that he would most likely play like any other m1 killer. Xenomorph i think brings more to the table. And i really really wanted Jason before i thought about alien
