Actually, @peanits can we get survivor star trek shirts! Dwight would of course be red!
-
What i did was play a bunch of games refusing to m1. Didnt care if i won or lost. Just wanted to learn some aim and how hatchets worked. Im still not great (thats why i prefer smgs over snipers in most games) but i got to where i can hit people.
Also ignore add ons that mess with windup time. You dont really need them and do want to get muscle memory down.

4-man SWF group. Kirk, McCoy, Spock, and a guy in a red shirt that always complains about being tunneled. ;)
This! But only if john Delancey (Q) can be the killer!

It worked for me last night. You do need to be running and timing is hard to get used to if killer is chasing you.
-
"But it is taking the game hostage because you shouldn't be camping the gates, you should be trying to find the survivors."
Where is the killer supposed to look for the survivor in an end game scenario? Is he supposed to go check the basement for a survivor attempting to escape the trial?
Holding the game hostage means the game can't end. The new EGC was put in place because survivors would play hide and seek with the killer for extremely long periods of time.

Peanits literally said above you they're being worked on. It's likely a massive fix that will take time, and there's no sense delaying small but important fixes just so they can release it with the big ones.
I know what he said. Im just injecting some tinfoil hat conspiracy what ifs into the discussion.
Adding to what you said, could there be a more massive fix than a rework? Just saying! ๐
-
Is it possible that they aren't 'fixing' Billy because he is the next killer to be reworked? They did say chainsaw bros are on the list.....

So this is not RNG ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Iย can actually go ahead and clear that up right now. There's only been two times where we have changed the shrine (outside of perks that are required for Tome challenges, which are forced for one week):
- That time where Aftercare and Wake Up! were in the shrine, but could not be bought due to a bug. The shrine was rerolled with a new set of randomly selected perks.
- April 1st for one day, which was then replaced with the regular randomly selected set of perks the next day.
As for Saboteur, that's just a coincidence. We have changed loads of perks in the past without them appearing in the shrine. Sooner it later, one of the perks that were changed were bound to appear at/around the time that they changed.
Exact post from peanits 10 posts above this one. Its rng except in certain situations

I wanna remind that bond, windows of toxicity and beast of prey show up in the shrine exactly in the same time when you need these perks to complete a challenges in archives.
Peanits confirmed that if the perks were dlc and needed for tome, they put them in there

I myself dont pay attention to it as i have all perks unlocked minus OoO. (Hate that perk)

You having jake as a pfp doesn't mean you dont main killer.
Can I be a damn entitled killer in the forums but have yui as a pfp and not be entitled?
Still you didn't answer my questions, I get a lot of steam comment from salty killer and I dont make a thread about it, just move on damn.. we all know that you dont need to make a post about it, all this thread creates is a us vs them.
Or maybe it is more an educational post trying to explain that the term tunneling is used improperly just about as much as toxic is. If we can have discourse on things and come to understanding with each other, maybe the community will become better off?

Thats funny cause saboteur came out on the shrine when those changes were coming out for it, very weird to have the perks in the shrine to be just by chance.
I would say they can obviously control what goes in the shrine. Look at April fools! I think what @peanits is saying is that as a general rule, the perks that show up are random. He never said they never choose the perks should they desire.
-
Honestly, Freddy. Strong yes? Unbeatable? Nope.
-
I mean you could respawn in a locker and you have 3 chances to escape the locker in your own just like hook mechanics now. Someone has to open the locker for you or the entity consumes you.
No more camping or unsafe rescues unless killer is chasing someone and they stop to rescue you. Then you honestly can't blame the killer.
-
Thing with killers is, decent killers capitalize heavily on mistakes. If one survivor screws up just once it can cascade into a 4k no problem.
Just an example, was playing solo (as always) against a nurse. I don't know if the others were grouped or not. On console by the way. We got 2 gens done fairly quickly. Then got cocky as this was not a top tier nurse. We would each go and take over the chase if someone got downed, while the others prioritized healing instead of objective. We played around too much. Last gen popped as 3rd person died. She got a 4k.
Now she wasn't horrible as nurse as she could hit blinks but she also chased without blinking and respected pallets. Should have been a fairly easy 3-4 escape. But we sacked ourselves. She capitalized on them. We didn't.
-
I almost never depip playing against a freddy. I may not always escape, mainly because people refuse to wake up. Stay awake and be careful and hes not that hard to deal with.
When i do play Freddy, which i dont usually as i really miss og version, i go with pallets. They are more satisfying to use

Funny how you write so many words about what is considered "toxic" when I did not use this word at all.
"toxic" does not have any meaning anymore. People should stop using it.
You are correct. My apoligies. There was an hour between hitting quote and actually writing this post. That being said, replace all instances of where i wrote toxic and replace it with 'playing fair'. The meaning of my post doesn't change at all.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:

To be fair, playing in a fair way is different from letting two people go. If you dont slug, dont tunnel, dont camp you are playing fair and are even playing fair when you go for the 4K (or a 3K with Hatch escape, if you dont care for that last Survivor getting away).
Letting 2 escape is more than just "playing fair", thats why I wrote earlier it is really nice. But to be honest, I would find it strange if I get sacrificed and two others get to escape for no reason.
Slugging during a match us NOT toxic. Boring but not toxic. Purposely letting people bleed is toxic. Camping is not toxic, especially against an overly altruistic team, or in a 3 gen where hook is near all 3 gens. Tunneling is more of a greyish area but there are definitely times where a killer happens upon a recently unhooked survivor accidentally. That's not tunneling.
As an example that happens quite frequently, killer hooks someone, starts to chase someone else, loses them in the corn or because they were 2 feet away from them in sanctum of wrath. Starts towards another gen or towards the unhook notification. On the way the unhooked person decides he wants to try to trip the killer by crouch walking right in front of him. Killer sees an injured person and downs him. Many killers, myself included, will know that that person was just unhooked so they get slugged.
In that situation, there was no choice but for the killer to be toxic. Other than letting the person run away which at that point may as well be a farming match.
Point is, context matters in what is 'toxic'

So, to be able to open the hatch without a key is a bit OP donโt you think? Or Can you only open it whilst the perk is activated? (10/20/30 seconds) and once the perk has deactivated, you can no longer open it. Because that would be alright I suppose. But being able to channel something that is not there seems stupid. Because you donโt actually have a key with you so how can you channel? This perk would be great with left behind tho!
The channel part is to make it similar to perks like saboteur, where it allows you to do something that an item can do but not as efficiently. This perk shouldn't be a free escape but it should give a little bit of an extra chance.
-
I still laugh when i got told i abused myers' power. Salty that i 4kd with no add-ons and only territorial imperative as a perk. If you play fair and get salt, take it with a sense of pride lol
-
@NeaMainNON_TOXIC3 said:
As a Legion main, I don't really want Sloppy to work with FF. That removes the purpose of the mangled and broken add-ons. And if they did go together, every toxic person would play Legion. They'd use them just to piss people off. If enough people complain about it, they'd just reverse Legion back to their old self.
I would argue that those add-ons were created specifically BECAUSE of the change to FF synergy with some perks.

It would be a good idea to make it a exhaustion perk to make it less op, It should be like this:
You will survive no matter what! If you are the last remaining survivor this perk activates.
For 10/20/30 seconds you leave no scratchmarks when running.
Grunts of pain caused by injuries are reduced by 40/50/60%
Causes the ๐ฒ๐ ๐ต๐ฎ๐๐๐๐ฒ๐ฑ status effect for 70 seconds.
You can also open a closed hatch without a key. (With a short channel bar, lasting 25,35,45 seconds.)
I really like this perk and i think it is a great idea, would it be okay if I submitted this as a perk idea??? I will give credit to you.
Go for it. I love your presentation!

May be off topic but how come when ever a killer does something bad, it's defended with "I don't know what the survivor did" implying the survivor somehow deserved it?
It's probably one of the two, the player is a twitch streamer or, the killer caught them breaking that totem and decided they'd ruin that persons match for no reason.
I in no way defended that behavior. I even added 'if anything' onto my statement. However, you have to admit that some survivors can act in such a way as to purposely get under a killers skin. Or, maybe the killer just really hates dwight. I know if i find myself in a position to kill any 2 survivors or let 1 go, if theres a claudette, she dies.
I am not condoning that behavior in the least

Some people enjoy using resilience with spine chill to not be "dedicated". I'm not saying they should be immune but what I'm referring to is eating bt and ignoring the unhooker who is also blocking along with several other survivors.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1254144#Comment_1254144
I'm not saying that coming across the injured person is tunneling after they've been unhooked. What I'm saying is tunneling with no discernible reason, which in my mind is eating bt and ignoring bodyblocks from every other survivor nearby. If you don't see the issue with that then don't be surprised if you run into ds despite "not tunneling".
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1254156#Comment_1254156
Bones can be ignored considering they don't count towards your score for objective. Healing is overrated especially with so many people running resilience/iron will.
Tunneling in my mind is when the killer ignores bt, bodyblocks, gens, and literally just tunnel visions on one person after they have been unhooked. It's not when the killer cannot find anyone except the unhooked guy. That's just poor movement for him, which is unlucky but it doesn't fall in the category that I fit tunneling under.
True, bones do nothing for objective, but they can give 5000 in boldness. (Ive gotten all 5 more than a few times)
-
If the killer decides to remove a person from the game, more than likely, that person is gone. Like peanits said, that is reportable and im not sure what that dweet did to deserve that, if anything, but that killer gives killers a very bad name.
Please don't generalize this behavior with ALL killers.
-
My only code really is to not be a jerk. No camping unless circumstances warrent it. Try not to hit people off the hook. If i see a survivor purposely give away another survivor i try to go after the jerk not the victim.
I usually give last person a chance if i beat them to the hatch, when they are downed, if they dont struggle ill walk them to a gate and let them get out.
I don't consider flashlight blinding toxic no matter where they are.
Just be cool to each other basically.

I just had a game as legion where i needed 120 seconds of chase and also the 90 seconds chase with beast of prey. Didn't go into it looking to farm but, there were 2 megs a dwight and a blendette. They let dwight die on hook with 5 gens left. Had both megs downed so said screw it. Figured they are new. Accidentally killed one Meg as i didnt realize she was on death hook. Farmed a bit then killed claudette and gave Meg hatch. Apologized to claudette, but one of them had to die.
-
I dont match outfits. But i do match characters. Even if i dont have perks. Still just fun. Unless its claudette.

I actually just had a game doing the be chased 30 seconds as Kate challenge but switched to Meg. Didnt get my challenge done lol

I'm sorry but as I've explained in a post above, there are counters to all of them. I have no issue with NOED, and there are MANY ways to play around all of those perks you mentioned except for Adrenaline(Aside from don't let gens get done), which isn't even a perk until the END of a game, and is technically the same as an OLD syringe, without being able to control when it goes off. Doesn't seem unhealthy to me.
That said as for NOED, I've found that searching chests and doing totems is more of a luxury at this point. A luxury I've rarely had time to do without dying unless the killer was a potato. I think the only time I actually got out with an item trying to bring some out due to terrible survivor bloodwebs(they don't get good add ons every blood web ya know) making me take Plunderer's is when I brought a white ward to take the item out with me whether I died or not. I had another CHANCE to bring an item out but the killer had Franklin's, and I got put on the hook for trying to get it back, then someone got me off and I ran out without getting it because if I didn't I would have died.
I dont think its balance that people are arguing against, just that some people honestly feel survivors are too oppressively powerful now. That even by giving killers a buff any buff to survivors just negates it.
I personally dont slug often, and try not to tunnel purposely. I have no real complaints against perks from either side. My biggest complaint is from outside comms. The game wasn't built for them. Wasn't balanced for them. Still isn't. They hurt solo survivors as many changes can't be made because of potential abuse by comms. And killers cant get buffed properly because it kills solo.

Yes, I can blame them, survivors already have to work way harder for their score over a killer. So I agree with Twisted there that if the fill struggle allotment was granted on death I would be fine with that. But until that, those are still my points that I am getting cucked for.
Lets just remember that killers use that end time to go kick pallets and generators. Or use their power. They are losing points also.
And yes killers get more points, usually, because they arent competing with anyone else for those points
-
I think the devs do need encouragement. And there isba difference between criticism and just douchebaggery.
That being said, the bug with huntress losing her devious points at the same time as releasing an archives focused on her is a bit much.
So yeah, for that i tell the devs to 'git gudder'! /s
-
Devs are walking a fine line balance wise. To be honest, I'd rather killers that dont have map pressure so to speak get movement speed bonus similar to bloodlust for the first 30 seconds of a match or until a chase starts.
-
100 points away from a perfect game and still no adept. Killer adepts are stupid lol

I did understand that, but nonetheless the practical consequence is that people at higher ranks end up earning more - that's the point of raising the cap. So regardless, it would still be alienating for lower ranked players.
Or, it would incentivize people to play more and get better. It would me
-
If it makes you feel better, huntress is currently losing 25% of her blood points due to not being able to get deviousness. A BP bug during an archive featuring her. Sorry but that 800 points is negligible. In my opinion
-
@alaenyia said:
Well that is a bunch of crap! It already sucked when you were 1st hooked as last survivor and didn't get to even try to take advantage of deliverance or even just get your 800. This just cucks survivors a little harder, in a patch that already gave a hard middle finger to all survivors. Jeez, thanks BHVR.
They said the 800 bps was negligible compared to wasted time. And as much as survivors complain about doing totems, which give even more, can you really blame them?
-
Yes. Soon as all survivors are struggling on hook, the game ends
-
Only problem with keys are finding them in chests mid match. Want to risk bringing one, go for it. Just the rng free escape from a box shouldn't be a thing. And yes if you cut the game short without completing your objective, its a, to be fair, highly discounted escape
-
To be fair, i think noob3 has matured a bit. His newer stuff is less in your face piss killer off. I like it....although i admit to a small part of me really prefering his older stuff. Hes just more of a regular player now. Which is better for the game as a whole....if not as entertaining!
-
@Aneurysm said:
Also It's definitely weird playing a killer who's slow but without some sort of fast travel ability, and that also gives a lot of advance warning (the devs should've put in a huntress gen grab challenge just for shits & giggles)
When the hatchets land though it is extremely satisfying.
STOP! NO IDEAS PLEASE!!!!! LOL!
Anyone who hates traveling at turtle speed, put shadowborn on her. You still move at turtle speed but, it feels like your Billy. It messes aim up a little from what i hear. I dont know ive necer taken it off
