  • Like stated above. Its only 'toxic' if there is ni intention to hook. Bleeding out isn't toxic if the downed person hides and killer cant find them.

    Although i one time only played a slugging build with og freddy. I had 3 downed and felt so bad i started hooking. I then apologized after the match. It was an insanely easy vicotory but nit at all rewarding

  • Im really liking lithe, q&q, dance with me combo with a flashlight. I go through phases.

  • And yes i know i just posted about survivors sucking. And yes i stand by that! Lol

  • I swear the diversity in mindsets of players is amazing. Previous game was an ebony mori plague. I was sweating when doctor game started just from coming off the plague game.

    I honestly love this game and community!

    No I get it. I just prefer less frustrating games than the rando grabbag

    I completely understand that. But when you get great games as a solo its amazing!

  • @Veen said:

    Play killer then, you don't have to rely in your teammates.

    I play both.

    @Clevite said:

    That's actually called t bagging., lol.

    Seriously tho, that is why playing with randos sucks. Some games you get an awesome one with skill and game knowledge.

    Other times tho....please.

    No thanks, I'll kill while I wait on my swfmates.

    I prefer the tenseness that is solo with very little info. Just kills me when my team is deadlier than the killer!

  • I dont think a once per trial signature ability would create more of a meta. Also even if it did they could give the least played survivors a slightly better ability. Maybe we would see more Adams and Quentin's and Jeff's

  • Hello eboni mori EVERY SINGLE GAME. Tunneling would be a better strat then it is now.

    Although 3k regardless of how it happens should always he a safety pip though

    @csandman1977 Do it again but with the original non-licensed DLC characters because saving up the shards to get all their perks makes completing rifts seem like a cakewalk. Yes, its possible... every 2-3 months if you never buy from the shrine, but realistic for most just for the perks? Not really.

    I never said it was quick or easy. Just that it is entirely possible to unlock all non licensed dlc by simply playing the game. Could it be easier? Sure. Doesnt mean its impossible

    Ya I suppose that's a decent summary.

    As for the shrine thing, been here for 3 shrines, 2-3 are always perks available for blood points anyway every time and what's left aren't slow down perks which is what I actually want. Seriously though shrine puts a lot of pointless things up. Like buckle up, really? What a thing to eat a perk slot for.

    Im not arguing that killer is hard. I will however argue that almost all the perks in the game are available with free in game currency. Your focus is on slowdown perks so lets look at the licensed killers and there perks

    Freddy - remember me, blood warden, fire up. Only slow down perk is remember me which affects opening the gate. Not worth it except on meme end game builds. Best perk blood warden which against decent survivors you will almost never get to go off. Also not a slow down perk. Also no perk here that can be seen as needed.

    Pig - surveillance, hangmans trick and something else? Lol. Surveillance is a decent tracking perk combined with ruin. Or pop goes the weasel. Since most times its not worth really kicking gens this perk is mediocre at best. Hangmans trick is pretty much uselss. Make your choice! Good perk on certain killers. Pig isnt one of them. I love pig but she or her perks are not needed to win

    Myers - play with your food, save the best for last, dying light. PWYF turns into more of a time waster than anything else on most killers for most people. STBFL is actually a really good perk. It helps you end chases faster if you cam build up the tokens. Really good on deathslingers or pig or demogorgon. Time saved in chase is always good but not necessarily needed nor a slowdown perk. Dying light. Has a good effect but usually by the time you get enough stacks to matter the game is already over or you completely dominated the survivors. In either case having a different perk here would be more advantageous in most scenarios. I would argue STBFL is probably the best paid DLC perk and still not really needed.

    Demogorgon - surge, mindbreaker, cruel limits. Surge being the only slightly decent perk is still not used and not needed. However it is a slowdown perk kind of. But not one worth spending money on

    Leatherface - BBQ, knockout, Franklin's demise. Knockout is good in slugging builds unless you go against a comm squad. Also, slugging builds will get you in trouble with survivors. Franklin's is ok. Removes items when hit. Maybe wastes time as people go back for their lost items. Not needed at all but fun to hit people at exit gates right before they escape. Again making survivors mad. BBQ. Is absolutely worth the 5 dollars for the character. Is it needed to win games? Not in the least. It just cuts the grind almost in half. Also annoys survivors because killers use it to get more blood points. Actually everything about bubna annoys survivors. BHVR should charge more for him! (I joke!)

    Ghostface - im all ears, furtive chase? And thrilling tremors. Im all ears is a really good chase perk. Can be used to cut down chase time if you know how to use it. Not needed just really helpful. Furtive chase (dark devotion?) Is a meme chase perk. TT. Is a very good perk. Its a luttle bit of slow down with a little bit or tracking. I use this until i get anything better. Its good but not needed to win.

    I think thats all.

    Every other perk is either free, or available using free in game currency (shards). Outside of BBQ there is no reason to buy these killers for perks alone. Save up shards you get from playing. Buy from shrine, sometimes they have good perks or individual characters to get perks you might want.

    Tldr- killer isnt pay to win as most of the perks arent even worth running. Most of the dlc is free just for playing.

  • @Raptorrotas said:

    Why'd he suddenly become "OP, plz nerf" , just because the bigger maps in the game get slightly changed? How much do they get reduced in size anyways?

    I never said OP. Just that making maps smaller will make him more of a threat. (Not in those words but that was my meaning)

    The rest is theorizing on changes. Devs have alrrady said the chainsaw brothers are on the chopping block.

  • @Dr_doom_j2 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1229365#Comment_1229365

    The reason BBQ is needed is killer add-on's are a constant cost, and to play some killer well, or at least have a fun time playing them, you'll be going through a lot of add-ons.

    The shrine is not a reliable way to get perks, this is essentially like saying Star wars battlefront wasn't pay to win because anybody could get a random loot box with Darth Vader in it.

    I didnt mention the shrine for a reason. You can buy non licensed characters for 9000 shards.

  • Other than BBQ, the perks you listed may be dlc perks but they are free dlc you can obtain fairly easily by using shards.

    Bbq is 'needed' to win, its just there for bloodpoints. Of all the paid dlc that you can not get with shards, the Halloween dlc probably has the best perks for either side. And even then you can argue that the killer perks aren't 'needed' and personally i don't think DS is 'needed' on survivor side. Though some would argue that.

    In my opinion the biggest problem with the dlc is that they don't release really strong perks with any real frequency anymore. They are afraid of being labeled pay to win.

    Personally i feel that if they release a great perk on a character you can purchase with free currency, its not pay to win. Its grind to win, which this game already is

  • Not qualified but whether intended or not it's smart gameplay really. As killer just be patient

    They did the respawn mechanic with Deathgarden and look how that game turned out.

    Don't know anything about that game but im pretty sure the respawn mechanic wasnt the entire reason the game failed.

  • Sorry man i dont have every Dev comment on file. Hell i cant even find my own old stuff. How about this

    @Peanits i remember you saying something along the lines of NOED being strong by design and thats why its tied to totems. That its counter is simply to destroy the totems. I don't want to quote you if it wasn't you that said it. Can you tell the class if this is in line with the dev teams thoughts? Please and thank you!

  • @gantes said:

    The devs also said "just get better as killer" after Ruin got reworked and "infinites take skill" a while back. Can we please have some critical thinking and form our opinions without appealing to authority?

    It should be every persons goal to improve. They then changed infinites because they realized that winning a chase but losing a game wasnt a fair trade-off.

    Yes the devs can change their mind. But until they do, do the bones is the official answer

  • Killers camp because it works most of the time. Why chase survivors when they come to you. Want camping to stop? Quit playing into it.

    Camping fix - hooked survivors die and respawn somewhere else on the map. Kindred basekit

    Slugging fix - unbreakable base kit

    Tunnel fix - see camping fix

    DS fix - see camping fix. Wouldn't be needed

    Gen rush - made up term.

    NOED - totem counter

    And there it is. Can't have a normal conversation without these people.

    People with different opinions? The horror. They say this because the developers have said this

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

    That's my theory as well. Killers are spreading this "do bones" propoganda in order to get survivors to waste time and make life as killer easier. Pretty clever, I will admit.

    Its not propanganda. The developers have said thats the answer!

  • Rank 4/5 on Xbox and que time is about a minute. Barely have time to load a youtube video while waiting. Rank 12 killer que times are longer for me.

  • I mean are there not countries here that consider 16 adult? We try violent 12 year olds as adults depending on severity of crime.

    Not advocating child abuse/murder just saying....

  • Zarina. When she first dropped i had like 7 escapes in a row with her. Took it as a sign. Shes my only p3 50 character either killer or survivor. Am planning to get all the perks but Loris as hers are the only ones i don't have unlocked.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1226572#Comment_1226572

    Oh so that's what it says in game. Funny, it doesn't say kill the survivors but instead says to chase and hook them.

    Yes. Thats why killers lose points for moris and if im not mistaken get no points for letting someone bleed out.

    Slugging means you chased. Nothing wrong with it if you plan on hooking that person before they bleed out. Now leaving all 4 on ground to bleed out i would say is toxic. Or refusing to hook someone while also not allowing anyone to pick them up while not chasing anyone else is also toxic. Not cheating. Just scummy.

  • @SpicyTopRamen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1227364#Comment_1227364

    I completely agree! I see people at red ranks DC like crazy. Best you can really do at the moment is take it for what it is and report anyone who does it intentionally.

    Another thing being slugged is 4 minutes of boredom max. DCing is 5 minutes minimum. Just wait it out. It takes less time

  • @SpicyTopRamen said:

    Honestly, if the player wants to DC and get the penalty on top of losing his bp and pips just so their friend can get hatch, who cares? They're losing more to the game then you are. Plus if you would have just hooked that survivor before going for the 4th one, then you would have gotten your hook points.

    I'm not condoning the person who DCed, because I honestly think the killer is there for the same reason the survivors are, but I know that when I'm playing survivor I would rather get killed on the hook than waste time getting slugged.

    I am curious what happened to the husk mechanic though. That idea was mentioned by the devs and we haven't heard anything since.

    Its more about the whole point if DCing i think.

    Slugging = toxic = DC

    Freddy = DC

    Spirit = DC

    Moris = DC

    Camping = DC

    Iri head = DC

    Tunnel = DC

    In all those situations the only thing that can be said to be against the rules is DC. It's cheating. Plain and simple. I personally Dont slug for 4k. If i find last guy as someone is on hook so be it. I don't care that much. Some people do. They arent wrong for it. DCing is against the rules. Those players are wrong

  • @goatslinger said:

    Freddy. Anyone with 2 hands can play him well, he has no skill cap. They all run the same bbq/pop combo and it's a nightmare trying to get gens completed against him. Usually freddy games are the most boring in my experience.

    To be fair many killers use that combo!

    I honestly hate wraith. I don't know why. He just infuriates me.

    No one has said that, at all. In fact, the only thing I've said is that survivors deserve a fair shake, which they do.

    Survivors already have a fair shake. Theres 4 of you. If you get to end game and you are the last one, why should you automiatically be just as strong as a killer? I would agree with you if this was strictly a 1v1 game. It isn't. You have a chance to survive. A small glimmer of hope after failing to fulfill the requirements needed to complete your objective.

  • With current matchmaking, we already have that

  • I say just make all offerings hidden except maybe map offerings.

  • @coppersly said:

    A way to address Moris without actually touching them would be to introduce more secret offerings in general so you can't be sure it's a Mori until the killer wants you to know.

    Also, aren't the separation offerings secrets too?

    Yes but the seperation offerings are horrible for killers. Having 3 people spawn together means 1 gen gets done. Seperating them means 3 get done as you chase someone.

  • Screenshot_20200421-231911.png

    According to the game, survivor's objective is to escape. The killer's is to sacrifice. All the emblem stuff is what you did to get there. There are no other objectives for killers. No rules on how to go about it. To say a killer is sweating while trying to accomplish their solitary task is just dumb.

    At the same time complaining that survivors are doing their objective too efficiently is also dumb.

    Disconnecting is against the rules. Thats why it is punished. So regardless of whether you feel the killer is a sweaty try hard who shouldn't be going for 4k isn't the issue.

    Slugging isnt against the rules. DC'ing is.

  • @Bovinity said:

    Are people really so tribal that they're seriously going to defend disconnecting/rage quitting because, "It screwed over a killer, so haha!"

    Welcome to the forums!

  • I personally don't watch his videos anymore. Same with tydetyme. Every other word is complete bashing of the game and the Devs and how much they dont like or hate the game.

    Theres a difference between criticism and all out hate. Whether intentional or not, streamer you refer to comes off as bitter and just plain hateful. Even his posts on here are like that.

    If you hate it that much, just stop playing.

  • @jibbigibbles said:

    Who cares if one survivor escapes though

    Its not about 1 survivor escaping. Its about people intentionally leaving the game (which is a bannable offense) to rob the killer of 2 kills. 2 kills all of which equal blood points and/or pips.

    Total difference between 3k and 2k because someone cheated. Or even a 2k and a 2k because someone cheated

  • Survivors complained about ruin. Ruin got destroyed and with it the early game. Devs even said expect to lose 40 to 60 percent of survivor objectives in first couple minutes. So that leaves midgame (new early game) and end game. NOED has potential to be the deadliest endgame perk. The drawback is survivors can make it not work. At all.

    There is nothing wrong with NOED except as usual, players in this game don't want to adapt to changing circumstances.

  • Hex: Fog of War

    While this hex is active, replace the audio terror radius with a visual fog. The closer to the killer the more dence the fog. The fog obscures survivor vision (either making everything darker or like clown bottles).

    The survivor who cleanses this totem becomes oblivious for 10/20/30 seconds.

    (Actually this would be a cool killer concept as well i think. A deadly silent ghost or something.)

  • @White_Owl said:

    There are too may cons than pros. How about the opposite: a rotation of perks that give an incentive for using them (like bonus shards, for example).

    This would be great. Get 25% more blood points when using premonition this week. Maybe have like 2 perks on each side so a total of 50% more bloodpoints

  • @LALYTHIA said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1224875#Comment_1224875

    Slugging to 4k is lazy and cheap. The last survivor didn't lose. They just get ######### over. The entire end game of a match is already stacked against a solo survivor. If you are so petty you have to slug because, despite your increased movement speed and ability to freely traverse the map, you are that terrified of losing one survivor through the hatch, you should probably reevaluate your life and the things that bring you joy in the world. 😂

    Popping that last gen is lazy and cheap. The killer didnt lose. They just got ######### over.

    No one is entitled to a win. Everyone is trying to do their objectives as well as possible. Survivors try to escape. Killers try to kill. A killer attempting to do his objective goes from a 3-4k win to a tie because a survivir decided to be a ######### and break rules that are enforced with play time bans is supposed to be ok?

    You Dont like being slugged? I get it. But its not cheating its not toxic its not unsportsmanlike. Its a built in part of the game.

    The outcry would be even worse if killers constantly dc'd before gates were open.

    Yes some do and they should be punished. But unlike dc'ing for hatch, it's not actively encouraged and justified

  • I think new prayer beads works well at causing tension. Every time you use power the survivors have to think you are coming for them. Works great if they have spine chill too. If you kbow where they are. Stare at them ti light up the cat and leave.

    Perks

    Thrill of the hunt

    Devour/lullaby

    Haunted/lullaby

    Retribution

  • The same way survivors try to justify tbagging at pallets and windows and dancing in the exit gates.

    People are douches everywhere.

    I for one only tunnel object of obsession users. I know thats what they want but i don't care. They will die.

    Yes, mishaps happened before, but we had a choice to play on the displayed ping. It's more frustrating when I'm looking at good latency displays, yet the gameplay doesn't correspond.

    @Stitch7833 said:

    i havent played the game since just before the servers dropped, seeing this post fills me with joy tbh. i often see so many PC/PS4 players say its terrible but honestly without i got so many bad connection games and the average ping id get was 150ms and some times alot worse, people need to understand servers are never perfect and things can happen. ill be looking forward to playing the new tome on dedicated along side DC bans! honestly so happy

    Like I said, and i can only go by my own experiences, i havent gotten anything really bad. I had one game as huntress where a meg was twitching around, but all the other survivors weren't. I am not going to say that's the server when only 1 person was affected.

    Are there fram drops? Oh yes. But they are less frequent than before. Now i don't have very many games on servers. I haven't been playing much since i completed the last tome.

    If they get unplayable like alot of people say they are i will of course report that. I love this game but am not beholden to this company. Im just a consumer that wants an enjoyable hobby.

    Yea i got that wrong.

    Patch 3.4.0

    • Nerf: changed the Stagger Effect reduction to be deactivated during Exhaustion
    • .
    • Buff: now completely muffles all grunts from falling while not Exhausted.

    The buff side is still kinda a nerf, cause "while not exhausted" means that if im exhausted even the sounds are hearable? so It has no effect while i`m exhausted. Do i get this right?

    Yes. It works like all other exhaustion perks now. Meaning it doesnt do anything when exhausted

  • That was the part that pissed everyone off. It lost the stagger reduction when exhausted

  • Every time a survivor uses an exhaustion perk to extend a chase the other survivors have that much more extra time to do objectives. So yes exhaustion perks can and often do affect every player on a map. That being said, I don't have an issue with them.

    Why not Mindbreaker for killer and DS for survivors?

    I'm definetely not picking worst perks for killers and best for survivors.

    The survivor perks would buff solo without affecting SWF. Something that needs to happen. I hate DS and can't bring myself to advocate anything for it except a ruin type rework. (I say this as a survivor and killer player)

    Monstrous shrine, well if it were basket they could make it actually a different and useful perk.

    Ill agree with mindbreaker for same reason. It sucks and needs changing

  • Kindred and borrowed time for survivors. As solo player kindred tells my team when to come get me and borrowed time helps against being farmed

    Monstrous shrine for killers. Not the notification part but the quicker basement hooks. Make it more dangerous to be around it.

  • @Deoblo said:

    Idk what servers YOU guys are playing on, but EVERYONE in my circle has stopped playing. Survivor side is frustrating because the hits that land are questionable. As the killer, hits become whiffs and the nurse travels 2 feet with a fully charged blink. Who cares though? The devs are forcing it on us anyway. In reality, they're just forcing us to play other games. 🤷‍♂️

    Dont kniw about the nurse but all that was happening before the servers

    @AlbinoViera said:

    I want your servers.. As survivor I have to now deal with being matched to rank 16+ killers at rank 10 with a 10 minute wait time and hits that should not have registered. As a Killer, I can no longer tell when I'm facing an SWF or not, and am being matched with rank 13s and 16s when I'm rank 1. It's irritating no matter what I do. And that's when I'm sitting at around 50ms.

    Matchmaking has nothing to do with servers. Matchmaking sucks regardless.

    Everyone not on xbox has been on dedicated servers for months now. Everyone I think has forgotten what it was like before.

    My games both survivor and killer have been much better overall experiences. Whatever they did during the time they disabled them to now has been great. Not being a cheerleader just giving credit where its due. If things change i will be on here talking about it. For now though, great job devs!
