Yeah that might be wise. Since from what i heard of it. There is already red flags going around it. Like one of the people working on it, saying you need to be open minded and understanding. So a sequel to a video game many people liked or loved. Their reply is, you need to be open minded and understanding. Which does not sound very good and shows a lack of fate in the game, if you need to say to people to be open minded and understanding for a sequel to a beloved video game. Like wouldn't people already be open minded and willing to give the game a shot, due to how beloved and popular the first one was?

I never expect a sequel to be as good as the original. (Empire strikes back excluded) But as good as the original was even lower qualoty would have been awesome!

  • I haven't seen anything about it. Just reactions. Im upset because i thought the first one was one of my favorite games of all time. I'll probably redbox or something. Or wait for a halfoff sale.

  • I feel like im a pre-teen huntress main. It hurts starting off. Not as much as nurse but still not always fun

  • Why do killers want a 4k? Because the killer objective is to sacrifice survivors. Not everyone sees the emblem system as a measure of victory. I've posted this before but the game itself says the killer objective is to sacrifice survivors. It says nothing about sacrifice survivors while ensuring that some get away so as not to hurt anyones feelings.

Survivors are supposed to survive. Are they sweaty try hards for escaping out the door?

When you go into a game do you think, i really feel like not winning today. I would just love a great big tie today. No. You play to win. Some may think blood points are wins. Some people think long chases are a win. It doesn't make you a sweaty try hard because you are trying to win at the game you are playing.

I don't want them to completely nerf freddy they should just make him so you can't just win and you have to put some time and effort in to be able win, like with nurse.

Freddy has counters. ALL killers do. The thing is, much like with spirit, nurse, plague, huntress, etc, you as the survivor have to change the way you play.

It seems to me, that many survivors don't want to do that. They want to play ring around the Rosie into a pallet stun for 5 gens. You can't do that. If you are asleep and there are snares you can't loop. If its pallets, you have to play like you were against doc or clown and throw them early.

He is a strong killer made even stronger by people not wanting to shift their playstyle.

  • @indieeden7 said:

I know this is going to sound stupid of me to some people but I actually hope this doesn't get fixed. As annoying as snares are, dream pallets are the bane of my existence, with no way to tell which pallets that have already been set are fake without SWF, failing skill checks, or traversing the entire map just to wake yourself up. I'd rather they just changed the pallet add-ons, they're much weaker than snares and feel braindead to play against.

Pallet freddy is much more fun to play as and against. Snares are just boring. Pallet Freddy adds more tension. Makes you change your gameplay up and is not iver powered in any way. In my opinion thats what makes survivor different. Yes you press m1 to fix gens but depending on killer, you have other things to worry about and adjust to.

  • I've read that many if not all killer breathing noises have been raised.

Hmm i kinda dont like this. Why killer have face this +1000 hours players in name of fast matchmaking?? Hello Devs are you here?

It sucks. I know. They are looking at changing matchmaking. That being said, if you play enough you will get better. Killer is a lesson in patience and humility.

Im a green killer, highest i ever got was 2 games in rank 8. I've gotten a ton of matches against red ranks lately. And to my surprise i am starting to be able to deal with them better. At the same time, last game i played i got run around by a rank 15 David with no perks. Granted it was at shack with a jungle gym on one side and a t l wall on the other. I should have given up but I threw the game because i focused on him. Never got him either.

Point is, you cant control matchmaking and many times rank means absolutely nothing. Just try to focus on a killer you like. Try out different perks. Learn your basics. Play survivor too. Learning how to play both sides leads to learning more about what to do in certain situations depending on role.

  • Because matchmaking is FUBAR. They are trying to balance between perceived skill level (rank) and wait times. Just take it as a learning experience.

  • Probably because of map changes? Just like when ruin got changed and killers decided that mori and noed were the answer, survivors decided they needed to run full on military training exercises? Possibly?

I mean, it's certainly something. I'd prefer to just change adrenaline alongside NED because adrenaline, if used in a swf, is absolutely brutal for a killer. I like it keeping the non-permanent one hit down, but personally then shouldn't it just be exposed status on a cooldown instead? It does basically the same thing when in a chase, but doesn't make survivors incredibly easy to track.

It does maybe help on tracking and also gives survivors the choice of whether or not to heal after the timer ends, or escape

  • Kindred and detectives hunch are great if you solo. Well worth the perk slots

  • @Sydraen said:

Agreed! I love her lore, I love her look, her interactions and gameplay. She just stands out so much out of any of the other killers its an enjoyable experience to play her overall even if you're not having the best of games. A little bit that I also like, about the new killers anyway is the addition of their own versions of the DBD soundtrack playing when selected, I wish she had something like that too, that would be super cute :D!

I totally agree. Have her humming the soundtrack! That would be wortg a paid dlc to me lol

  • PS - Please dont hurt her too much with her add on pass!

It's good your about to get your first p3 all perks survivor! I usually buy cosmetics for the body and legs then use the p3 head.

Her p3 head is barely recognizable as that. But i like her because i can blendette without being blendette!

  • I actually really like the huntress mask and the legion outfit, especially the mask. May not grind it all out but there are some decent things there

  • This first level will go towards getting all perks on zarina. She P3 50, my only one, then i usually save some for new killer/survivor whenever they drop

  • How about this. Since NOED is constantly being compared to adrenalin.....

    Hex: No one Escapes Death

(I dont remember the actual flavor text)

When the last generator is repaired, gain a 5% movement speed bonus.

If there is a dull totem left on the map, all healthy survivor are put into the injured state and are broken for 30 seconds. Injured survivors are broken for 30 seconds.

It keeps the one hit down, but isn't permanent. Survivors can hide then heal or find the totem.

The speed boost acts like adrenalins exhaustion. Whete it activates even when the survivor is exhausted.

  • Played 1 survivor game last night because wait times were the worst ive had in awhile. Got badham. Wasn't used to new sensitivity on controller (my excuse anyway) went down quick. After that i popped a gen and used detectives hunch to break 2 totems. Someone popped haunted grounds. Checked boiler room and found one. Last gen popped i got the 5th which was noed. 1 person downed while i was cleansing it.

Killer camping basement me and a Steve got the hooked one out and body blocked to a 3 person escape. The 4th left soon as door opened. I was solo Que.

So yes it is possible to solo and remove noed.

So how is comparing a buggy game to having flashbacks of being in the Vietnam war remotely acceptable?

"Oh no, my game looks funny"

    And

"I cant sleep because noises remind me of watching my friends die as we fought a losing war for a country that hated us for it, and have mental issues or physical disabilities from it".

    Are two DRASTICALLY different things.

Comparing game issues to being in a ######### war is distasteful and offensive to those who did serve, and belittles what they ACTUALLY go through.

But yeah, my game is broken, I guess I know what it's like to be in war. 🤷‍♀️

I just want to say that it is getting increasingly more and more difficult to speak publicly without offending someone. Something that bothers me may not bother you and such. I am in no way belittling the experiences of any soldier, whether they are drafted or enlisted voluntarily. In fact when i see someone in uniform or i see a veteran, i go out of my way to thalnk them for all they have done. I have more respect for them than i could ever possibly put down in words.

That being said, the term PTSD has become a common phrase in culture. It is used for many reasons for describing traumatic events, both serious and jokingly.

Like many things pop culture and just life in general has washed away the meaning and with it the overall serious effect it has on those who suffer from it.

Keep in mind that, in my opinion, the majority of people who use that term have zero desire to insult or mock. Not everything is a direct insult. Not everyone is trying to be an #########.

I do understand why you would get upset at the term being thrown around so callously. But sometimes it's better to step back and discuss without an all out attack.

Good! Me a few weeks ago, a red rank killer starting to play Nurse which I only played once before. My god I was so outplayed and bad it was insane, and some message me on Xbox that I was garbage, that I should quit playing dbd and such. And of course some was the opposite trying to help me with tips on how to get better, so not all bad but some people 😕

I honestly haven t been seeing very many toxic messeges lately on Xbox. It definitely makes the game less of a chore

  • @DBD78 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1237944#Comment_1237944

Yes these "toxic" high skilled SWF teams outplay me, it's not what I complain about. It's the not treating me with respect that I complain about. As survivor I never t-bag or message killer that a game was easy and such. The killer knows if survivors was better, you don't have to rub it in.

I dont condone the exit gate antics one bit.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

Now, before anyone bites my head off, this is off the back of a few unpleasant experiences and I know that not every game is like this, but the fact that it's brewing this type of a feeling is important to discuss.

I know that I have said before that "last game shouldn't mean anything" but that statement is getting harder to justify as of late. Same with this attitude. And there is no "taking a break from the game" that can fix this issue, because simply put, it's becoming more frequent.

So, amidst all of the recent questionable matchmaking, I've been paired with some rather low ranks. Not an unwelcome change from being constantly put into a red killer with green companions at purple ranks, but what happened in these last few games is:

I have been completely abandoned on a hook against a killer with Thanataphobia for some minor, insignificant generator repairs and two bits of healing to cancel two stacks of Thana. Dying on first and de-pipping, only to find that the ones I saved off earlier hooks are ranks 17 and 18.

I later have a game where there are 3 David Kings, two with flashlights and one with a toolbox. They get slaughtered and I manage to get most of their unhooks, only for the last one to get slugged. I manage to stealth as I have all game and manage to pick him up from dying TWICE before the coward leads the killer to me and then proceeds to do absolutely nothing, while I do a generator, dodge and run the killer for the next two minutes before getting honourably downed and hooked. Messaging me (Xbox player, for context here.) as I'm about to die on second hook, and gets a lucky escape.

They then proceed to call me a "sook" and later a child because I called them out on their blatant teaming/cheating and said that they shouldn't have messaged me as I assumed initially they had a farming thing going. They even tried to provoke me into using explicit language, which is part of my normal speech, I refrain from using online in text because of mods and bans. I'd love nothing more than to warn my fellow Xbox brethren about this toxic scum with a good ol' Name & Shame, but I won't.

So, here's my questions, as a solo survivor: Why SHOULD I start helping you lot when this is the treatment I can expect? Why should I put my life on the line when it won't get reciprocated or appreciated? Why should I start believing that this game is truly a 4v1, rather than a 1v3v1 as other survivors are proving more and more? How is your life and your health more important than a stealth/chaser emblem rating, or another generator completed? How does helping you help me any more?

    Why should I care?

Please, convince me. I've ditched my emotions and empathy enough throughout my life. I'm not seeking validation, or consolidation. I just want a reason.

Find some good survivors to play with. Dont really need comms but finding a group of players that know what they are doing is a huge advantage. I myself like the tension of solo but am really thinking of finding people to group up with. I just dont do the comm thing.

  • I get ready to lose the game. The OoO user is going to die. Could care less about the others unless they get in the way. You wanted to be obsessiin? Well im obsessed lol. Depending how long it took to down them ill back away. If they ran me for a couple gens they get facecamped

  • Thanks everyone for the mature responses. You never know ifnyou are going to get crapped on around here! That being said, matchmaking screwed up that game. I was purple and everyone else was between 17 and 20. (Yes i should have been able to outplay the wraith longer but chases arent my strongsuit and wraith holds my number 1 most hated killer position.)

To me those are beginner players. In such i feel like the game is not beginner friendly and some tips and tricks are lucked on or taught. 2 years playing and i only learned the exit gate strat about 5 months ago. So that being said i wish i would have had someone tell me different things to do in certain situations. Or explain their mindset to me to help me understand.

I get some people take insult when advice is offered. Regardless maybe she will remember that exit gate advice and it will save her life someday. Maybe my explanation why i suicided will stick with her. I don't know. I just think if we were all better mentors and showed better examples, the game wouldn't be such a toxic cesspool.

That was more of a rant than i intended lol.

Alright; show us the skill it takes to rescue against a face camping bubba or infinite tier 3 myers.

You choose to ignore the 15 other killers on the roster. It may be impossible to rescue from a facecamping tier 3 myers, but any team with proper skill and game knowledge wouldn't let him get tier 3 in the first place.

Insidious bubba builds well I'll give you that one.

  • @Xx_Daniel_xX69 said:

I play her on console so that may differ but I really enjoy her heres my build.

    1. Corrupt Intervention
    2. Whispers
    3. Nurse's Calling
    4. BBQ and Chili

For add ons I personally never used any with her as I wanted to get used to how she throws, the arcs you can get sometimes, certain hitboxes on obstacles, ect. but as @csandman1977 said avoid the wind up add ons to get used to her wind up. Sometimes just pulling your hatchet out but not throwing it you can potentially bait a survivor to go to a dead zone where you can M1 or just get an easier hatchet throw. Also never think the games over if alot of gens pop and you've barely hooked people as Huntress is great at snowballing, so a bleak situation can still be a win.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1237820#Comment_1237820

I never used Shadowborn as I heard it would mess me up going back and forth between using it and not using it. I've been tempted for a while to use it as Huntress has become a fav of mine I just don't know which perk I would give up as they all benefit my playstyle.

I run BBQ, whispers, shadowborn, and currently brutal strength but sometimes iron maiden or pop or just about anything really.

  • @DBD78 said:

Yes I'm rank 1 survivor and would never complain about camping and such. It's newbies that have a problem with such strategies. But as killer I can sometimes complain about the worst SWF t-bagging/clicker teams that also message "easy" after they t-bagging at exit gate escapes. I complain about that sometimes but if it's because of lack of skill, I don't think so.

If the whole team is clickspamming and dancing in the exit gate then, i would say you got outplayed. The skillful part comes before they hit the exit gates.

  • Ive heard it slow down when people were hidden well but never heard her laugh!

  • As i have been trying to be a good huntress player i can tell you what i did.

Perks - Shadowborn - FOV is a wonderful thing. Plus it makes it seem like you are walking faster so you don't feel the 110% movement speed. Only real problem is if you get used to running it, there's a relearning curve with the aim if you take it off.

Bbq- One of the few killers who can possibly benefit from the aura reading.

Those are the only 2 perks i think have to be run honestly. Iron maiden is good for faster reloading, im all ears can get you some surprise hatchets. Bitter murmur possibly does the same as BBQ aura wise. Just ignore any perks that require m1 attacks to proc.

Addons - the exhaustion add-ons are amazing. And cheap. The brown one causes 30 seconds of exhaustion. Great if you can get first hit in.

I myself stay away from faster windup add-ons, as i don't want to mess up the muscle memory of how long it takes to actually throw a hatchet

Iri head, well I dont use it. Nothing wrong with it but i expect to see a ton of them in the coming weeks.

Gameplay, dont go for long range shots at first. Get used to the windup and arc. Keep in mind that a charged shot and a quick flick do the same amount of damage but it but time held does affect the arc of the throw.

Farming for target practice isnt horrible. Not saying go into the match to farm, but if the situatuon arises take advantage.

The lullaby is 40 meters so survivors will have a head start. Try to approach from the direction survivors will want to run in. Also lullaby is not affected by monitor

"Most of your complaints are based on lack of skill"... How is it lack of skill when the game is literally Killer sided? Survivor Latency is the biggest flaw this game has that leads to Killers being superior. Dead Hard not working, being hit after vaulting when you're a mile away, being hit while dropping a pallet, or pallets just not dropping at all even though you mashed your space bar into oblivion.. And camping killers have nothing to do with skill, "Just do gens" is a bs excuse and fix to the overall issue. The fact of the matter is, the killer is A) wasting a players time B) making it a poor experience for said player that just sat in a 10-15 minute survivor queue C) gets rewarded for literally not having skill.

He went over face camping. There are plenty of videos of people rescuing people being camped. Even face camped. Its called skill. The skill of your team. Like it or not, this is a team oriented experience. No survivor should be able to 1v1 the killer the entire game.

Complain all you want about bugs and glitches. He never said not to. Bugs and glitches were left out for a reason. There are fundamental areas that people need to learn. Bugs and glitches make it harder yes, but barring any of them, there are no situations, except maybe Mori, that skill can't overcome.

I don't think anyone here has a problem with what you are referring to. People are talking about using it antagonistically, such as at pallets and the exit gates. The latter being particularly bothersome because the Killer cannot do anything about it.

Antagonistic yes. Not arguing that. Like i said context matters. My point i guess i didnt make clear is that quick crouching, while commonly referred to as t-bagging isn't simulated sexual assault. Theres at least 5 different uses for it throughout the course of the game. None of which make the game any more or less fair.

Dancing survivors in the exit gates are annoying. Personally if they are in the position to do that then i lost big time and just run the map looking for pallets to break. I get points, they waste their time and have no satisfaction of bragging.

I will say that even as ghostface or pig (who is anatomically incapable of tbagging) I've never gotton the thought of 'let me shove my nonexistant digital genitalia into the mouth of the survivor who is facing down because I'm an immature butt muncher.'

And now that i think of it, half the cast of survivors are anatomically incapable of performing that particular sexual assault.

I guess next time the killer looks right at me while picking someone up I shouldn't flashlight save. Too sweaty ammiright?

Depends who you ask i guess. To me that's just proper play

  • I don't understand why playing to the best of your abilities while trying to achieve your victory is considered sweaty?

  • Sometimes. Most of the time if i down the last person before i find hatch, I will walk around carrying them until i find it. As long as they don't struggle.

Or if i close hatch first and down them ill bring them to the exit and let them struggle off and escape.

It's enough for me that they know that I could have killed them. Power trip and crap. (Might need some psyche evaluation lol)

Had a game as huntress where i had 3 hooks before first gen popped on badham 1. 2 kills and 1 gen done. Downed a Steve but let him struggle off and do a gen while i searched for a jane. Couldn't find her so i got back to Steve as he finished the gen. Ran around with him letting him stun me. Jane finally did a gen. Found her and chased her letting her use whatever pallets were left. Last gen i sat back and just threw hatchets at them. They healed and got gen done. Hit steve with hatchet ran after Jane. Steve keyed out of the hatch as i killed Jane. Which was fine. I realized while i was chasing her how annoying her grunts of pain are. Sad part is there were 3 red ranks in that match. I was 13 at the time.

  • I 't-bag' when i see another survivor for the first time. 99% if the time they reciprocate. Are all those people insulted or trying to insult? Serioysly doubt it. They are saying hello.

I 't-bag' when i get healed. The healer reciprocates. Are they insulted or trying to insult? No i am saying thank you, and they are saying your welcome.

When a killer lets me go and i slowly crouch up and down twice am i insulting them? No Im saying thank you.

Nowhere in any of these situations am i simulating a sexual act. Im using the limited forms of communication at our disposal.

    Context matters my friend.

Right. Shoving genitals into someone's unwilling mouth isn't sexual asaault...

Look. I don't care that people pretend to do it in a video game. I'm grown enough to not let stupidity bother me. But at least be honest about it. Pretending it's anything else is is unworthy of discussion.

I apologize if my truth kicked you in your safe space.

    Have a pleasant day.

Except that is not whats going on in this game. People are bouncing up and down. 99.99999% of the time there's nobody underneath them. Short of certain moris survivrs die face down so even a dc'd body can't technically be teabagged since the mouth is in the ground.

This is just a really silly conversion in my opinion. Quick crouching is neither fair or unfair. Can it be annoying? Yes. Does it skew the results of a game in any direction? Not really. It triggers some people. It used to bother me but i got over it pretty quickly.

It was the dumbest question I've seen on a survey in a very long time.

  • Survivors - Don't loop the killer around a teammate on a hook. Lead the killer away.

    Blinding at pallets is fine

Dancing at exit gates for entire etc is meaningless. Just leave

Killer - Bring whatever add ons you want despite rank. You never know what survivors you will face. For instance, im rank 13 and faced almost all red ranks last night

Camp only if you see people around.

Tunnel all neas with flashlights and janes. They are both annoying lol

If you bring a mori, do your best to hook everyone before you start killing people. That or bring devour hope also. This way if people complain about the mori, you can just say DH!

  • I hardly ever use NOED. Just prefer other perks. As survivor I expect it. I don't think it needs changing at all

  • I love hag. Im not good with her but she is a great killer. Her and trapper kind of play the same as both are rewarded for map knowledge and survivor knowledge. Where she kicks trappers ass is in set up and recover. Not having to pick up traps from the entire other side of the map is just plain amazing.

Some issues that i have with her is her height. Makes it hard to see over many objects. Corn is 10 times more annoying with her for me.

Also a flashlight really hinders her. If you see multiple in lobby switch killers.

Her best add on in my opinion is the one that doesn't create a husk when survivors trigger it. Early game its a crazy jump scare.

  • Im not having any problems that werent there before the servers. And the glitches are much less common.

Because you blinded him like 0,5 second earlier than the animation finished thats why. You blinded him but failed the timing, also count in the pop up for the score isnt right away.

Survivor was already on shoulder. Killer was moving towards a hook. I get killer could dodge the blind but i got the scoring event.

  • Keys shouldnt be in chests. Otherwise they are fine. Yellow mori should be base kit.

Had a game against a red rank team. In green killer. Got outplayed quickly. Saw 3 people so i ran to them. 1 opened hatch and left. I closed the hatch and went after another person. While doing that the 3rd opened hatch and both got away. 4th went through gate.

Looked at post game load out and no one brought a key or plunderers or extra chests.

Wasnt too mad cause i would have lost regardless but still. 2 keys 1 game with no luck offerings or perks

  • @MegaWaffle said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/146401/flashlight-question

If you blind them during the pickup animation it won't drop the survivor, they need to be blinded while they have control of their character. You can time it so the blind kicks in right as this happens to get what is essentially a save the moment they CAN move.

Because flashlight saves would be way to easy if you could blind at any point in time, especially when the killer has 0 control over their charter. Hell if it allowed you to flashlight save at any time then the meta would be to simply stand in the open if you knew you were going to go down because you would be flashlight saved 100% if someone was nearby or forced to be slugged if the killer knew.

    Pallets work the same way.

But why did i get blind score when killer was moving and he didnt drop survivor?

  • Irritating yes. Unfair? What planet was this survey created on?

And yes i answered not unfair at all
