Was i wrong?
Had a game against a wraith. Downed someone, hooked him. Guy got unhooked and immediately downed. He DC'd. Next guy hooked i save immediately get hit as i purposely body blocked to give rescued guy a chance. He tried to 4% and was in struggle when i got there. Wraith left me and immediately downed him again and killed him.
Came after me and hooked me. I watched him go behind the hook and stand there. So i suicided since other survivor was on opposite side of the map. Also, i did the only gen in the game.
Spectated and saw killer close hatch and get survivor at exit gate.
Messege her, 'was hoping you would get out'
She replied 'why?'
'I don't normally suicide but he was hard camping and i thought you could get hatch'
Her, 'why #########? Bloodpoints matter!'
Was typing this when her last messege came through
'Next time you are in that situation open the door for about 4 seconds and stop and hide. No red light killer will move on thinking you aren't there. Then you have more time to escape.'
Thinking of something to respond to her last messege when she put back, 'Now you're giving me advice? Lol'
Kinda bothered me so i put back, 'Everything i did after getting hooked was to give you better odds of escaping. The advice i gave also increases your odds of escaping. Take it or leave it, doesn't matter to me.'
Really irritated me her response.
Am i wrong? Should i have let her unhook me? Risk her getting grabbed?

After seeing her responses, she should have died sooner. Since you didn't know what they'd be like though, and you knew the Wraith was camping, I think that you made the right choice. Better that one person gets out than everybody dying. Or at least have a chance.
Better than having some idiot try to justify teaming with a killer because he can't play the game, and then calling me a sook because I called him out on his BS. And this is AFTER I picked him up from dying, TWICE!
Lesson here is that unless you're in a SWF squad, you're in it for yourself.
You did what was right, and judging by her response she was a bit salty that she ended up dying.
We need more people like you in the community, trying to help people you don't even know, even after the game.
No, that's a perfectly valid play. She didn't expect or, apparently, particularly want it from you, and that's okay too, because different people have different priorities and ideas about what the best way to play the game is. Same with the advice - it was well-intentioned, but unsolicited, and some people find that patronising, which is probably why she didn't thank you for it.
No one was in the wrong here, it was just a matter of differences of opinion and imperfect communication.
I don't think you were wrong at all, but we never know what the other person will do or think. For this scenario, the killer going after the unhooked person, even if she had saved you, he would got after you, so by killing yourself, that was the chance to get the hatch, which is just that, a chance. And your advice was on point, so don't be discouraged by her reaction, maybe next time someone will actually appreciate what you did and thank you.
Unsolicited "advices" are often seen as a condescending way to state "I'm better than you, so next time do as I say", and that's what got into her.
You may have the best intentions, but just avoid giving free advices if no one asks for them.
Thanks everyone for the mature responses. You never know ifnyou are going to get crapped on around here! That being said, matchmaking screwed up that game. I was purple and everyone else was between 17 and 20. (Yes i should have been able to outplay the wraith longer but chases arent my strongsuit and wraith holds my number 1 most hated killer position.)
To me those are beginner players. In such i feel like the game is not beginner friendly and some tips and tricks are lucked on or taught. 2 years playing and i only learned the exit gate strat about 5 months ago. So that being said i wish i would have had someone tell me different things to do in certain situations. Or explain their mindset to me to help me understand.
I get some people take insult when advice is offered. Regardless maybe she will remember that exit gate advice and it will save her life someday. Maybe my explanation why i suicided will stick with her. I don't know. I just think if we were all better mentors and showed better examples, the game wouldn't be such a toxic cesspool.
That was more of a rant than i intended lol.
