Ok man.How about the devs add an ultra rare addon that u can have infinite corrupt purge on Plague from the get go for the remaining of the trial?Surely if u are dieing to this it's your performance not the addon's fault.Which btw,it's a ton easier to dodge purge than hatchets. How's that?

Little bit of a difference there as plague can sweep the entire area by spinning in circles, does not have to reload, depending on the map that locker may be half a mile away, and plague also moves at 115.

No i don't think plague should have infinite power. No i don't use iri heads. No i don't find anything wrong with them. If anything, i enjoy going against them because it pushes me to get better.

    Title.

February there was, but ... is there any news of some advances for next content, mid-patch?

Perhaps the devs do not release any dev-update this March and leave it for April ...

Maybe not since they are mostly working from home

I don't know your rank but i won't continue this argument, your logic is wrong, your math is wrong.

Ok,some trivia. If u know for a fact the huntress uses iri head(she already downed someone) u become more cautious,by being more cautious u feel more pressured of not getting 1shot and by feeling more pressured u make mistakes more easily.

If you are making mistakes because you are scared then that's on you. Not the add on.

No I dont think its excessive..because exaustion addons are used to counter 5 perks? And do nothing else aside from that , so no..they need a counterbalance

And how often do they even counter sprintburst?

  • @Ivaldi said:

    Is this post serious?

Mindbreaker? - It doesn't tell you when it stops.. If you're already exhausted, the exhaustion timer halts.. Otherwise the exhaustion effects last till a gen is 50% or 3 seconds after you get off.

Devour Hope? Only tells you its active AFTER its too late and survivors are exposed..

Noed? Only tells you AFTER the killer hits someone and and the totem procs.

Dead man's switch? What exactly does it tell you; it just blocks generators if you get off of them.

You want to say its "baby survivor sided"; yet killers get so much more info.. Hell a Doctor can literally have their legs broken but two seconds later *Static Blast* "OMG There's the survivor". Legions just have to M2 and then suddenly get map-wide tracking. Then there's BBQ and Chili aka "I don't want to actually look for a survivor; game show me where they are". Let's also not forget about Nurses Calling? Or how about the countless add-ons killers get that reveal survivors? All seeing Myers, Wraith, Plague?

You are missing the point. All the information you are talking about come in the form of perks. Perks the killer needs to equip before he can access the information.

The OP is talking about all the information survivors get, for free, usually about the killers load out. There is a huge difference.

As a killer, it's frustrating wanting to run lullaby but knowing as soon as they touch a generator they know its there. No surprise there. That's what OP is saying. Not tracking perks, that by the way both sides have

This is true of many perks though isn’t it? I know that I play around killer perks when I’m playing survivor, like using gens as cover from BBQ, not healing in the killer’s TR, cleansing totems in case of NOED, not opening doors to avoid BW, and so on. I’d argue that playing around the opposite team’s (potential) perks is important to getting better at the game on both sides, since it lets you avoid preventable mistakes.

DS is one of the only perks that actually announces its presence and lets you play with complete confidence that it isn’t there if there’s no Obsession. The only similar perks I can think of are Ruin and Lullaby, which let you know early on if they’re in play or not.

I agree with everyrhing you said. My point though was the original point was that killers are salty over a 5 second stun. I was just trying to show that DS is much more than a 5 second stun.

  • I think the biggest rift is that DBD is 2 seperate games. For survivor its a party game lets have fun with friends and relax. With killer, who has no friends in game, it is not a fun party.

Survivors can meme around, do their objective, have basement dwelf parties and still escape. Killers are sweaty try hards when their main objective is to kill people. Devs say balance is 2 kill 2 escape. Thats a tie not a win.

Besides even if 3 of your team gets out you as survivor don't consider it a win, most times, if you are the one that dies.

As killer, or life in general, who plays to to tie? I don't want to tie. I want to win.

Not saying I endorse any of the behavior you described. For killer anyway. Slugging tunneling and STRATEGIC camping are sometimes the best way to complete their objective. Much like toolboxes and flashlights and so-called 2nd chance perks are the survivors best way to complete theirs.

  • So i never use them as huntress but i don't really understand the hate. Yeah she can hit from distance, but its also much harder. And most people want a distance restrictions anyway so thats a non argument really.

Up close, well first shes a 110 killer who struggles to get that close anyway. 2nd at most she has 3 shots. Depending on the map you can just crouch and she can't hit you. Ever. Third, Billy would like a word about close range instant downs. He does the same thing, without an add on. Never has to reload. And moves at 115% and like 10 million percent speed.

Most huntresses take pride in the fact that they don't use iri head. I can see why they do though. Huge maps with line of sight blockers everywhere. The hatchets hit box is like the size of a survivor meaning she cant easily throw over certain object or if standing to close to a window. The speed of the game at this point in time makes her a ######### to use.

Point is, she isn't broken. At least not power wise. Hit detection sucks, but beleive me that goes both ways

There’s only one path to winning on Sanctum and turning your nose to a corner will never improve your play or experience.

I don't say i do, just that I want to. It just needs some work. The map itself is nice. Its just too freaking dark

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

I don’t particularly enjoy this map either but there are mind games throughout. Learning how to run the middle goes a long ways.

I get mind games and learning tiles. I know I still have a long way to go to become a better killer. What I'm saying is i can't see people. I can't see scratch marks. Don't have this problem on any other map. Not even swamp which is just as dark if not darker.

I know right? I just don’t want to go out like that. You know I understand killer players believe it helps them catch up and all. But not when it ruins someone else’s experience. I mean I just feel like I wasted my time coming into the game and you don’t need to make people feel that way I don’t care who it benefits for what reason. That’s just upsetting that I spent money on a game to please some random killer that is allowed to bring an ebony Mori in every single game because it’s not even ultra rare item. It’s more like “common” with how much I saw it in my blood web past like... level 40. I saw them too much to where I was like, might as well bring this in every game because I got the points to get more. No worries. Screw everyone that queues up to play this game, and the next, so on and so forth. I just don’t think you understand that gen speed being too fast is the reason Mori’s are used is a viable excuse for this because, well, killers can still 4K without an ebony Mori. Bad killers can’t 😂 besides, I think gen speed needs to be fast for that reason. Killers can down and hook people too easy as well if killers are good at searching for them. I’ll admit I’m not the best looper, but that really means I deserve to go down, get hooked and Mori’d? That’s what I paid for? To please the killer? Especially since the killer walks out with 20-30K BP at the end of the match? Interesting. And they think survivors should be treated the same when it comes to losing ad ons and offerings. Killer ad ons are so much better. A brand new part doesn’t guarantee gen progress and even then its progress can be negated with ruin. An ebony Mori is almost a guaranteed ez kill that survivors can’t counter. How is it not counter able ? What about survivor offering that insta completes a gen to make up for it or something? Think about how hard it is for someone to get a hook off on someone when there’s hooks like every 5 feet. Not only that but how easy it is to either go undetectable and wait for someone to unhook or be the billy/spirit that goes away and comes back so fast you can’t even get away. Then you just get Mori’d? Nah.... that ain’t the type of game I like to play. It’s not a fair offering and I think it gets abused.

This thread has nothing to do with ebony moris. The hell you smoking? The OP is trying to say that a mechanic, that makes up almost the entire point of playing the killer doesn't work. Its not about balance or what's fair or over powered.

The game play the developers created is not working properly. That's it.

Turn your visual settings from Ultra to Low. Voila! Problem solved.

    I'm on xbox

  • I think kate and yui have the best cosmetics. Although i do like demon hunter feng and the black and yellow set (cant remember the name)

  • He said female! Not a hungry monster!

  • My least favorite chapter was the One chapter.

I can't stand playing as him. His map gives me nightmares. I use none of the perks from either side. Only positive for me is Yui has some good cosmetics.

This is the only chapter i didn't spend real money on.

I like deathslinger and for some reason have amazing luck with Zarina. I even like legion better than oni.

  • Personally, i think the challenges should award enough shards to complete the rift completely. Keep it like it is for grinding for people that can't finish challenges for whatever reason. That would make it less frustrating to be honest.

  • I think some of these challenges are just glitched in general. Got 3 protection hits one game and only got hit once

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1168956#Comment_1168956

So you just proved my point that no killer perk gives them a benefit for just 5 seconds in a whole match. A totem being cleansed (which I actually thought was 15 or 16 seconds but even if we use your figure of 12), is still more than double the benefit a survivor gets from the DS stun and that is based on a survivor starting on that totem at the second the game begins. So again, there is no killer perk that gives them 5 seconds of benefit.

The reward for most hex totems outweighs DS too. If ruin stays up you get a lot more than 5 seconds worth of gen regression. If Devour hope stays up you get exposed status and eventually able to outright kill them. NOED gives all survivors the exposed status. Those are a bit stronger than a 5 second stun, wouldn't you agree? Also, the killer gets to choose whether the survivor can even use DS in the first place. If they don't tunnel, it doesn't get used.

One person with DS has an effect on the killer for the ENTIRE match. Whether anyone is running it or not, if the killer isn't running an obsession perk, he has to assume DS is in play. The entire play style of the killer changes. DS is much more than the 5 seconds stun.

Much like a killer needs to adjust when they know person has dead hard. Their is a passive effect that lingers through the whole match.

You are correct that hex perks are powerful. So strong in fact that the survivors, the people being hunted by this super powered homicidal maniac, can remove it completely without any chance of it doing anything. Another thing, outside of ruin, no hex totems apply effects straight from the start of the match. And even with ruin, the killer has to do something to force the survivor off the generator. So in many many cases, hex totems give less than 5 seconds of value during a match.

  • @MPUK said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1168304#Comment_1168304

This 100%. People who play both sides regularly find far less to cry about in the game.

Making up bullshit reasons to deactivate DS or make it so it can't be used in conjunction with an exhaustion perk in order to stop you tunnelling the ######### out of someone is stupid.

I am sick of hearing the same "I want my chase to be over quickly when I tunnel someone so FS needs x, y and a otherwise I will quit playing because you favour the survivors. A 5 second head start ruins the killers game"

######### off. Stop camping, stop tunnelling and all those perks you moan about will not be used as much anyway. Killer mains push survivors to use BT and DS by playing like dicks.

In relation to the start of the topic where someone says if you chase another person after the unhook then it should deactivate, so the killer stays a few seconds away and watches the unhook happening, comes in right behind the unhooker so the chase initiates for them and then swing at the person who just got unhooked. A perk slot completely wasted because desperate killers will find a way around everything.

Relating it to head on and how that gets exhaustion is stupid too. Head on can be used multiple times. DS is ONCE. Killers really seem to struggle with the fact it is a SINGLE use perk. 5 second stun. Imagine if a killer had to use a perk slot for the chance at getting a 5 second benefit?? There would be outrage and threats to quit, as usual.

They are called hex perks. They can be completely deactivated in 12 seconds. Many times without the killer getting any benefit from them.

Games without DS are easier for killer because its one thing less the killer needs to keep track of.

I don't think the exhaustion idea is good, however if you get unhooked, and do something other than run away, the perk should deactivate.

Although if they change it to that then it shouldn't be a 1 time use. Also, i think there should always be an obsession on the game.

  • I agree that survivors have too many things going on in the bloodwebs.

I disagree with the thinking that survivor addons should be as strong as killer add ons. There are 4 Survivors. Killer is supposed to be stronger. To balance the game killer needs to be stronger.

Like someone said above, a good portion of the killers need addons to make their power usable.

I don't understand the logic of losing add ons. But being able to keep the item is a good bonus. No you can't do a full generator with 1 toolbox and that's fine. Because the boost of speed is not negligible.

I personally never bring items in so all of survivor bloodwebs except perks and bloodweb offerings are a waste to me.

    Just my opinion

  • I play walking dead road to survival on my phone, and they through in an off the cuff war event because people asked for it.

People are stuck at home. Give them a reason to play the game.

There's at least a good 25,000 still playing. that's plenty. Enable cross platform, wait time will never be an issue again...

I disagree. It seems like all platforms (maybe not switch) have an abundance of survivors and not enough killers. Opening cross platform will just increase the number of survivors in the same disproportionate way. Unless you maybe go by region then more people in the region to be connecting to but still. Lack of killers is across all platforms (except maybe switch?). Cross platform isn't going to make killers appear when there aren't any

  • According to WHO (world health organization) 250k - 500k people die worldwide from the regular flu. Now given a wear a tinfoil hat and take everything i read in the news with a very large grain of salt, going by the low ball number, then gool old regular flu kills more people in a year than the number infected by this new apocalyptic disease. By twice the amount. Minimum.

The world is shutting down over what appears to me to be a bad but in no way world shattering chest cold.

Yes people are dying. And that is a tragic thing. But keep in mind that people die every single day. From age, from unsanitary conditions, from starvation, from drug overdoses, medical malpractice, murder, terrorism, accidents.

Should we not ever have a double bloodpoint event because life happens?

I get not naming the coronavirus as an event to celebrate. (Mocked? Probably but not celebrated.)

Fact is, world is shut down. People are home. They are going to play games. Give people incentive to play this one. That's all that is being said. Just some are saying it more eloquently than others.

Two killers tunneling the same person. A good way to lose, but I imagine it'll be a day 1 problem.

Theres really no way to fix that. Sometimes a killer is just going to be a dick. Much like sabo and flashlight saves that prevent killers from hooking people, its part of the game. To be fair, as killer removing 1 person from game early leads to a better outcome generally speaking. It sucks to be the survivor but i can understand why a killer would do that.

  • @ThisGuuy83 said:

They need to just implement a new game mode for swf's. 6 survs, 2 killers to balance it out. That way the killer gets someone to talk and coordinate with also. It's just too damn hard to keep up with 4 swf's all on coms, and that's what ps4 is anymore. 90% of the survs is at least 3 swf's. Then, they use map offerings for the cheesiest levels like farm, auto haven, Haddonfield, etc..

I think that there aren't enough players to support a second game mode. Unfortunately. 8 v 2 would be fun also.

    @Tactless_Ninja said:

Either way they need to put their foot down about where they stand.

They don't want to stifle build variety, ok. But they don't want to deal with perk stacking which often doesn't leave much room for variety.

I get build variety is a thing but a good portion of people use the same perks over and over anyway. Letting 1 person have 1 perk opens the doors for creative perk builds as you are forced to use up to 16 different perks on a full swf

  • Im ignoring it. Its being blown way out of proportion. Besides i avoid crowds anyway. Antisocial. Its why i like killer lol

  • Doesn't really help that the perks arent really great either. From what ive played with. Though i still have to level 40 steve and Lori before i touch zarina. Then i can pick a main and start prestiging

BHVR could just make killers not be so add-on reliant.

Actually, that's what they should be doing in the first place.

Add-ons in my opinion are best used when they tweak the properties of something in weird but unique ways. Makes the game both more interesting (for both sides), and y'know, makes killers have more choice to be competitive than hoarding the add-ons that makes them less crappy. Like Wraith and his reappearance add-ons. It sucks to have to burn a purple and green offering (11k BP) every game to be competitive with him.

    Completely agree with you.

Killers shouldnt need add ons. And they should change the ability somewhat.

Example would be freddy's pallet add ons. It changes the killer slightly making gameplay very different.

  • Survivors don't need item or add ons to be fair. I personally never bring them unless i find something in game and forget to unequip it.

Killers on the otherhand are almost all add on reliant. Yes there are those that do just fine without them, but the majority of the players aren't.

Killer don't keep them unless they burn an offering.

Although i feel like if you don't use your item the add ons shouldn't be lost.

  • Every time I run that perk the obsession won't leave me alone. I get no value from it. Although when i unlock everything i want to unlock i will trade out bbq.

Also on console i turned down the sensitivity. It helps with the aiming

Wouldnt the thrilling tremors only really work if you down someone without using your chain for the 2nd hit? If I remember right, the game acts like the chase is over when you shoot someone. At the point that your reeling them in, your TR would shrink to 16 meters before you down them.

    @Cheeki_Beaky_Bird said:

You seem to have confused some perks: Thrilling Tremors blocks all generators not being currently repaired for a few seconds upon picking up a survivor, with a significant cooldown. It's main use in the build is likely to find out which generators they need to target with Pop Goes The Weasel.

Yes, TT is used for pop more than anything. Cool down sucks, but so do I so by the time i find and down someone its ready to proc again lol. That and even if you are competent, most times on the big maps, cool down is half over before you 110% your way across the map.

Pallets against a healthy survivor don't really matter as hitting your target and lettung then struggle out will still injure. It's hust the injured people who are safe behind them.

Also, expect devour hope and/or noed on pretty much every slinger. They are just too good on him.

  • Im currently running pop, bbq, m&a, and thrilling tremors. Tt is just good with pop in general. Bbq for blood points because as someone else stated, the entity is a dick in bloodwebs lol.

Either way perks are useless if you can't hit with his power

Wow that's a lot more responses that I thought I'd get. It's nice to see this thread stayed civil and I'm happy to see some of the stories about families gaming together. Sucks that it seems girls still get shitted on but that's sadly to be expected unless we're in a group with friends. This is honestly a good chunk of the reason I'm not ready to stream myself playing killer yet because I just want my stream to be a chill place to hang out and laugh about funny things (*cough cough* DBD bugs *cough*) and draw while we talk about our lives and I don't want any viewers having to deal with any off hand toxicity due to what I'm streaming.

Heres the deal. Some of the people who play this game are trash. They throw insults around just to get reactions or because they are little little people. The type of insult changes depending on who's being insulted. Girls get the ######### or ######### mantra, minorities get the flavorful race specific hateful comment associated with their heritage.

If its unknown, then you will be told to die of cancer, that you are incestuous, or just a crappy player who needs to git gud.

The thing with streaming is, most of the people who watch streams are chill. The ones who aren't, well you have the power of the chat. Build up a following who likes you for you and your streams will take care of the #########.

I've noticed that followers have almost a familial structure and they take care of their own.

Want to stream, just do it and forget about it. I actually just streamed a game where i got 1 hook and couldn't hit crap with my harpoon. Chased a bill for 3 minutes and never got him. Best part is no one was watching lol.

Anyway, just stream and have fun!

Lolwut? I've bought every killer and I've never seen a splinter offering. Your statement is a load of crock.

Im so happy for you that you never ran into splinters on your bloodwebs. Yes i exaggerated the amount of splinters i came across. But it was at least 1 every 2-3 webs at level 50. Every one i couldn't avoid was an absolute waste of my resources.

Call it confirmation bias or just human nature for something that one hates to stuck out in ones mind more. Either way, they were an annoyance and waste for anyone who came across them that already have the characters.

Does that clear the issue up?

  • Because all the people who did buy all the dlc had bloodwebs full of the splinters.

  • I mean i started playing as freddy trying to figure out why i couldn't hit people. Back when you had to put them to sleep. I couldn't hit ruin skill checks. What was looping? Huntress had to aim how? No reticle. No dot. And yet here we all are. Still playing despite the tremendous learning curve. This is a game that you either love or hate. No matter how much spoonfeeding you give new players, they are going to either quit or keep playing.

I do think there should be a training area. Someplace to get to know controls and common tiles. But the difficulty is rewarding in the long run. And makes better players.

Retrubution plus any hex perks shoukd be great. Devour hope is my favorite perk in the game so i am particularly excited to try that combo out

You dont lose the bp unless you redeem them. You can save points from all levels even from old tomes.

True but i would have to turn in a challenge to do it. Which i guess i could but im still on break until new killer drops

  • I can't start yet. I still have 400k BP tired up in tier 3

  • Just finished level 3 Friday. I need 19 and a half levels to complete the rift. Shouldn't be that big of a deal.

That being said, the amount of challenges that forced me to actually survive the match really burned me out.

When I play to survive, i get too competetive and not escaping gets me amgry. Normally i play to have fun. Help my teammates and just have an easy game. I put the game up until tuesday as even playing killer just didn't excite me.

I'll be back though, I'm too addicted lol

I think that's a bit much. I wouldn't mind an expanded Shrine though. Maybe keep it having 4 perks. But have a separate shrine for killer and survivor.

I can get behind this. As many perks as are in the game. At the very least give us 6 to choose from. I think new perks should go in, maybe for 5k shards for original chapters. 250 cells for licensed.

  • Got called a lag switcher when guy came in with red ping. Everyone else was low yellow.

  • Dont worry about kills. I only get mildly irritated when i dont get my bbq stacks.

Also, elephant clown has breathed new life into my game. Even if i suck, im still a pink freaking elephant trying to kill people.

As survivor, i just try to get as many BP as possible. I stopped caring if i escape or not and its so much more peaceful. These challenges that force me to care if i escape are killing me lol

  • I have the opposite problem. Trying to hide against him and he walks by the screen and a quick reveal sound followed by him doing a quick 180 right to my location. Good times.

  • This is exactly why they don't give exact dates for anything. No one ever officially said the new stuff was coming today. Yes in the past it's been like that. Nothing legally binding is forcing them to release today. They never promised it would be out today.

A week is not a long time. I've been at about 1.5 million bloodpoints for awhile (counting unclaimed dailys and tome challenges) but ive also been leveling my last 3 survivors to level 40.

Regardless, while i don't think an extra week is long enough, i feel they need extra time between chapters for health reasons. This is not a huge deal.

  • Soon as i put the repair 12 generators on I was the first one found and hooked. Spent most of those games running away from the killer. Even after unhooked I swear I had a magnet on

dont let survivors talk you into that - they have all the counters they could ever want for the perk, if they dont get rid of it, its entirely their fault.

besides that, i am glad you had fun ^^ Bloodwarden - while being very situational - is such a fun perk to use! when it works it can easily lead to hilarious moments like the one you just described.

also, when activated late, it can get the survivors entity stabbed, since they just cant leave through the gate xD
