Heres an example of a game I had earlier. This team got 1 gen done.

I collect salty endgame chats, lol.
Yeah I'm just wondering if it's picking up on your survivor ranking or both some how simultaneously, if it's even MMR testing related. @EmpireWinner had a good theory with bots, but salty bots would be far too advanced. π I think they'll eventually do like mobile did though and add in some AI players.

Its been BAD... I use STBFL on Demo which is really nice and I'm having entire chases ending in like 10 seconds. While I'm gettin plenty of BPs cuz ppl are using cakes, I'm getting bored out of my mind.
Hopefully the devs see this if it's tied to MMR. Are you about the same rank on survivor as you are killer?
-
Maybe they're testing MMR in your area? I mean, I'm like 90% sure they tested it a few weeks back and it was using survivor ranking even for my killer matches. Nothing but insanely hard matches back to back. So perhaps they over adjusted. I'm sure it's gonna take a lot of tweaking.
My matches were fairly standard tonight, and I'd be on the EST servers.
-
I came in here to throw down.
-
I actually like that most of the survivor's are dressed some what realistically... Perhaps I am the minority, idk, but can we not... I mean, it sets DBD apart from all of the other junk stroking games out there.
-
I'm all for increased speed while crouching.
Otherwise, I like her as is. She seems fairly balanced to me. Her traps are just meant to slow the game imo, so when I do get head pops it's like "Oh how nice."
-
Inner Strength is where it's at yeah, but I like to play with varying builds a lot, so I often take med kits. I've used self care maybe three or four times (Claudette's achievement for two of those) and it's just so slow, I got no use out of it. My husband likes it a lot though, he's your typical Blendy. π
-
I want to be both. I've been putting in a lot of time to killer recently, and won't quit 'till I have them all sitting with skills I like at least for when I do feel like playing them. However, I've put in hundreds more hours to survivor, and over all enjoy it a lot more. It's less stressful. I laugh more. Killer gets me tilted once in a while.

How would you feel towards have Rowena, Bobby, Kevin and / or Charlie as legendary skins too?
I'd love it. I'd probably play as Rowena often!

lmao a pig pulled me off of one last night for my first time not catching before it happened, combo of a bad spot and my mind wandering for a moment before i thought to pan the cam around again. It made me laugh but also shriek and sound almost just like my character at the time... and I'm a guy who happened to be playing a girl when it happened.
Yup. See, if I'm approaching directly from behind and/or have nothing to cover me, you hope for the grab! But if I can hear the gen being worked on and the survivor's don't have a way to pan & see me, then you go in for the ambush strike.
-
As mentioned, Head On, Mad Grit, & Pebble is golden. Always chuck your pebbles at the killer. A mad grit Spirit is a fearsome but funny thing.
Deliverance. Something about yeeting myself off a hook is both hilarious and devious, because they never expect it. Even when I run Adam apparently.
-
Piggu. I like her versatility. You can play her stealthy for a bit and be successful or just chase everyone down. Her traps help slow the game and occasionally just outright kills. Her ambush is underrated tbh, since I half the time get a hit just sneaking up on gens.
Plus boops.
-
I'd be alright with it. I'm not a fan of the zombie survival genres, but it would bring even more players in. We don't have a true zombie style killer either, so it would be some what unique at least.
-
Gonna keep saying it: Bill needs a vape.

I risked my life to save a Dweet in the basement on Ormond's against a Pyramid Head after his initial release. As we approached the exit gate, this fool stopped to tea bag at the entrance. As I ran out, Pyramid Head's power came through the wall of the gate at an angle and downed Dwight as he tried to run in. I scream laughed. I asked him in the end game chat, "Was it worth it?" He said yes, but he was in my very next game, and promised to not die from BMing. π
-
Nurse is what I'd call a veteran's character. You see them in a lot of games -- high reward, high effort. Takes a lot of practice to pull her off effectively. I don't think comparing Billy's overheat to that is fair, as so many have done. It's just waiting out a cool down.
I've played two games of perkless Billy, while he was bugged, so I don't have much basis for comparison, except to say he sounded much more fun before. I do however have a ton of time put into survivor, and I didn't mind facing him.
-
Put it this way: I've been called sweaty when I've lost. No moris, no camping, no tunneling -- and any of those things could have helped me secure a kill. It's a flimsy insult that's usually used flimsily.
-
As far as I've experienced, once the jumping animation has started it doesn't register a hit. I wish I had taken a video of it, but a Spirit sliced right through me as I jumped in with full health states. Was pretty cool looking tbh, lol. Could have something to do with latency though I suppose.

Y'all have me rolling. Please behave urselves at work!
-
Man, probably shame level numbers. π
I've been able to accumulate 480 since Feb. In my defense, corona has had me home all this time!
-
Supernatural would be my top pick for a TV show, so Dean & Sam as survivors, Castiel as a legendary, and I still haven't figured out who would be a good killer, lol.
That's So Raven is an interesting pick. If I was to pick something not with the theme of horror, I'd go with Scrubs. Let me and my bestie play JD & Turk.
-
It's a new term that has sprung up over the last year or two in most competitive gaming communities. Basically means you played as optimally as possible and tried hard to win. Like Bald said, usually said by sore losers or someone joking around. You also have people who think you shouldn't play to win though... so they can, because logic.
-
I'm still working on leveling and learning a lot of the killers, but so far:
Trapper: 3/5
Wraith: 2/5 (Who I'm working on atm!)
Hillbilly: N/A (I'm pretty sure hes been bugged since I started actively playing killer, so I haven't touched him much.)
Nurse: 1/5
Hag: 3.5/5
Doctor: 4/5
Myers: 3/5
Huntress: N/A
Leatherface: 1/5
Freddy: N/A
Pig: 4.5/5 (I lose plenty, but I feel I play her to the best of her ability.)
Clown: 2/5
Spirit: 3.5/5
Legion: 3.5/5
Plague: 3/5
Ghostface: 2/5
Demogorgon: 2/5
Deathslinger: N/A
Pyramid Head: N/A
I've probably put more time into Pig, Legion, & Doctor than anyone. I could use a lot of room for improvement for most, but I want to get everyone leveled up and tried out before I commit to a couple.
-
Or when they think they're being stealthy and go through a wall... Sorry, you didn't break my LOS long enough.
-
I've been in the process of leveling all of the killers. So I've been doing a lot of messing around and seeing who I'm good with, who I'm not; who is weak, who is strong. I've been cussed out so much playing either way that I've just turned off chat and rather not think about it. I've given legitimate compliments to survivors and was laughed at. Like many I've been accused of camping because I seen someone in the area and no I'm not going to let you rush up and unhook in front of me.
You can't win with half of them. So just play what is fun for you and stop thinking about them.
-
Put it this way, if every killer did what you do, I'd be bored. As it stands though, most try very hard to win (myself included when I play killer), so once in a while it's alright.
I don't even have that much time invested into killer in comparison to survivor, but I've not yet had a survivor care about my point accumulation, nor have I really cared about a killer's in retrospect. So if I give hatch sometimes, to me that's being super nice. Same if I let a killer smack me at end game collapse in front of a gate.

This is really off topic but it's actually really great to just see you pop up ever now and then, like I remember when I first saw your name with about 10 posts saying you were new to the game and now you're on 600 and a rank 10. Like I'd why but seeing someone's progression is really nice. Congrats mate
Thanks. I'm a rank 1-3 (slides around) survivor with about 480 hours, only 80 of those are on killer. π
-
Updooted. not_Queen's cat is all I can focus on during dev streams. π
-
And make sure you get paired by highest rank, please. Too many SWF's do this.
-
Not at all. They should just do gens instead of hook trading, since that's probably going to be a very boring game. Once in a while it does work out though, if you can loop them a while.

Wait, what? This is a thing? I thought RBTs were a joke that was supposed to "distract" from gens and death by them was a one in a million, like meme level, occurence because 99% of people find the key in the first box they search?
Lmao. My last pig match, 2 went off, and I killed the other two. They said "You have the NERVE to kill everyone after getting two pops?!" If only they knew how fleeting it is...
-
Developer's need honest feedback. That can be complaints as well as praise.

Yes but remember devs cater to the noobs not the good players
I feel like part of the over arching problem is the devs themselves are around purple-green ranks, yeah... I mean, I'm basing it off streams I've caught.
-
A good pig won't hook someone with an activated helmet on though, or at least imo. They might slug them, causing others to spend time to get them up. You hope for head pops and focus on survivors doing gens.

Like you said. Hoping he isn't that good. And that's the point. it all comes to "he has to be not that good" And not just that. All the kilelr i named can be beaten by playing efficient. But seriously. Wil lyou have fun playing against a doc main with his best addons? or will you have fun playing against a pyramid main with his best addons? A streamer I know is god awful good with pyramid and the only reason he loses games isn't bc any chase lasts long. It's bc they split up and do gens at any free second. And when a Pyramid is in his ability while youre looping a pallet he can bait out your bait by just waiting and when you throw the pallet you're stuck in an animation. Or if you keep running he just cancel his ability and hit you. Thisn isn't as easy as it sounds but you can master it. And from a survivor perspective it feels like: -_-
And Billy never feels like this. He could felt like this with his best addons where he hasn't a cooldown or a charge time.
I hope they do sth about it. Or delete the heat mechanic. If they wanna do sth about killer they're wrong with billy. And if they wanna do sth about camping then this is not the right way and a very very wrong signal.
Maybe I love Pyramid Head so I'm biased, although I haven't played him much, I love going against him, lol. On Doctor yes, he's a pain, but I just don't see him as that bad. I've won a lot of matches against Doctors and I've lost a lot of matches playing Doctor. His best add ons hurt, but at least he is add on reliant in that case. I just don't mind him so much, but I realize it's subjective.
Spirit is easy to play (especially with Stridor) and easy to lose against. If I take issues with anyone other than her, probably iri head + infantry belt Huntress. Any other Huntress is perfectly balanced.
I hope they fix Billy for the Billy players. He was in a really good spot in that I never minded going against him, even when we had the occasional snow ball match. I'm with you on that I lose to Doctor way more than Billy, even if I don't mind Doctor.

You can't do anything against a skilled pyramid. What do you wanna do? If he's in his ability on a pallet? You can go on and get a hit bc he hasn't a cooldown or throw it, and get a hit while being stuck in an animation. And a doctor isn't that of a problem without range/faster shocking addons. And you can beat them all by playing efficient.
It's about chasing those killer. And it's not fun at all and not on your hand. If the killer is perfect good you wil ldie no matter what. And Billy was like: if you predict him right and you know how he's working you can dodge his chainsaw at any time. And that's why I dont get his nerf. I hope they change his numbers so much that his new heating downside won't affect his chase at all.
You can bait his attacks and pay attention to where his red crap on the ground appears, hoping you move in time. Breaking line of sight helps. I don't mind Doctor so much but he comes down to me staying as far away as possible or trying to predict when he uses his shock so I can hop in a locker. Then it's all juking and hoping he isn't so good at shocking near pallets/vaults.
I will groan when it's a Doctor, even though I think he's fine. Like someone else said though, I've never found myself against a Billy going "Oh God, not him."
-
It's so hard for me to understand people who have issues against Deathslinger. Distance, random movements, and objects between you really throws him off his game.
A good Doctor and Pyramid Head is fearsome but I don't take issue with neither of them as much as Spirit. I've played a lot of her now and she's insane to counter. Throw a pallet early and hope you're on the right side of it when she appears.

I'm just getting sick of this increasing trend that learning each killer should involve the amount of time and effort you might put into a master's degree, while survivor gameplay remains pretty stale and basic (no hate to survivors, I've never seen anyone even ask for all the handholding that gets put in).
Yep. I have round about 480 hours now. About 400 is probably survivor game play. I've been going through leveling each killer, and when I hit these killers that people tout as having a "high skill ceiling" -- such as Nurse, but old Bubba I was told such a ceiling exists and I disliked him -- it's simply not fun. I'm not going to play something that's not fun. Like, I'm learning Ghost Face atm, and he has some in-depth mechanics. They take some skill and patience but aren't ridiculously hard to get the hang of.
-
@Aneurysm said:
Like with the nurse the answer seems to be "well if you were already an expert with this killer then you should be fine. Although if you're not and had any interest in learning them, don't"
Can confirm as a newer player, this is how I see it. π
-
During my time here so far, they seem to let buffs/nerfs & even some bugs go live and then patch it later. Bit weird.

We are similar, i was thinking about STbL would be good on him, how do you like it? I leveled up Myers just for that actually.
Also i think with swapping nurse would be for the best.
How is your early game without Intervention ?
Without Intervention those gens just flew more often than not! Gotta have it and Pop for the slow down. Previous to it I was running Whispers which did its job well, but again those gen speeds.
I love STBFL, but I haven't gotten it to tier 3 on my Ghosty. In fact it took me a while to get Intervention to pop up. Once I get it though, it might take a permanent slot in my build. Tbh I hate how much I need BBQ for BP, lol.

I Am running Intervention and surveillance because I think you need that early game stall to build pressure and you to find survivors as soon as possible, surveillance is so good to drop the chase and go shroud to catch a survivors who think you are chasing off guard. I'm all ears for the chase potential and for more information, PGTW to combo with surveillance and it's good to also stall the game further.
I went with Intervention, BBQ (BP fiend, too many killers left to level), Pop, & Nurses. I probs need to switch Nurses out since I'm not running anything that compliments it. Surveillance sounds like it would fair much better.
-
Yeah, I just leveled him up and got most of his desirable perks unlocked. Hes been a lot of fun, because so far I seem partial to stalky folks -- Pig, Michael, and now him. What are you running on him? Or want to anyway.
I feel bad for the Billy players. I hadn't messed around with him much, because I think his movement was bugged for a bit. RIP.

I don't care whether or not "everyone notices me". I'm just against the assertion that SWF, while unbalanced, is this huge problem that people say it is. As I said, even VETERAN and WELL KNOWN members of the community know this simply isn't true. The majority of SWF's are just normal people having fun, and not try harding. Therefore, using it as an excuse why you lose all your games is horse #########.
I feel like my point is only driven home by the caps lock, but go off.
-
Also don't mind. With corona and everything going on, I've had a lot of down time, but I also know people are busy as hens. Not everyone has that luxury. Besides, free is free.
