I don't think you understand what the concept of balance or even "fairness" is.
Let's say you are in a hospital. You weren't seriously injured, and have been recovering well.
Then in I come in, critically wounded and I have to get my leg amputated.
Then in the process of getting my leg amputated, I claim "well if I have to get my leg amputated, everyone else has to get their leg amputated too! That's only fair! It's not fair I'm the only one!"
Does that sound like a logical argument to you? Because that's what you're trying to do to survivors. Killers had their leg amputated, and now you're saying its survivors' turn to get their legs amputated.
You also seem to forget that BHVR is first and foremost, a company. They make a product (a game) to sell and market to other people to make money.
I'm sorry but to destroy their game so you can satisfy your bruised little feefees from the state of balance the game was in four years ago is not something they or any other company on this planet is going to be interested in.
Sounds like you just made a irrelevant hypothetical

How can you be on rank 1 both sides and possibly think changes such as "gain a status effect that prevents you from using your most powerful perks just for doing one of the most basic parts of a chase" is a good idea. And if you reached rank 1 killer, you're obviously good enough that you can manage all the parts of a chase and map pressure easily enough, and should know the changes you suggested are far too drastic.
I make these drastic changes cause killers shouldn't have to have high skill to kill survs who all they need to do is hit easy skill checks on a gen and loop around a pallet and window three times and still have a ton more pallets left

Let me guess, the survivors you got in your lobby were actually good a good SWF and they completely destroyed you, or you got a Solo Q survivors who were actually good and you assumed they were SWF. Which one was it?
Neither playing survivor is easy joke that takes no skill and need more challenge
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Yeah sure, let's make the game as easy for killers as it was for survivors back in 2016. That surely won't cause problems. /s
So killers don't get a turn? What a biased surv you are

I've reached rank 1 killer. My highest rank for survivor is like rank 8. It might benefit you to try playing survivor. A good way to get better at chasing survivors is to play survivor and get a sense of how they play. Once you know how they play, you can get a better idea of how to counter it. When I only played killer pallets pissed me off to no end. After playing some survivor I finally understood how important they are when it comes to chases.
Im rank 1 on both sides i know what a joke of a challenge survivors is just genrush easy lmao

Need a better way to report people and get rid of end game chat and emotes and teabagging

Then your a survivor main

I see the irony why survs say this game is easy

I'm pretty sure she is getting a red bar next, so she can't hold the hatchet as a constant threat. I've never seen anyone complain about her basekit, only iri head and the belt. I think she's a very balanced killer personally. Before she gets her potential nerf, why do you think she is balanced or OP?
No she is not op basekit wise the only thing that needs changing is iri head THATS IT

Yeah devs stop screwing over your fanbase with disabilitys

Honestly I think it’s garbage. They wanted to nerf Billy so they created an overheat mechanic but due to pressure they caved and made it so that he now pretty much never overheats....which begs the question what was the point of changing him in the first place.
I wish they would have shown some courage.
Im glad they didn't if its was like before he never be touched like nurse

I played a bunch of games tonight and had no problem seeing the auras, I wonder if there's an issue depending on specific resolutions or something? I'm playing on 4k on ultra resolution and have my brightness turned up slightly so maybe one or both of those help makes the auras more visible?
They just aren't as good as before

If they remove hatch Moris should be removed as well. An ebony gives a non brain dead killer the free win. I went against ebony’s 4 out 5 games I played today and it’s ridiculous how overpowered it is

Sure, I like a lot of what you said. But again it almost feels like you're not 100% on board with this change either and are hesitant to support it
"I would hate to see the game take these lengths to limit camping and tunneling"
I still believe my prior statements stand, and because of that I don't really have anything else to add on to this discussion. Especially that part about why this power works for Pyramid Head, but not as a default mechanic that would affect all killers.
"The only reason this mechanic works and works well for Pyramid Head and not as a default mechanic for hooks is because of the freedom of choice. When you're playing as Pyramid Head, you are given the option to send survivors into a cage all the way on the other side of the map you aren't forced to. This introduces an interesting and unique dynamic for Pyramid Head's gameplay and allows for a decent amount of strategy where you have to weigh the risks vs. rewards of sending someone to a cage.
It's widely known that you generally don't want to use the cage every single time you're given the opportunity to do so, if you do you're liable to lose a lot of pressure and run the risk of only priming somebody with We'll Make It or something to get quick heals to make a safe save without risking anything. However using it once in awhile to force survivors to relocate position or to waste their time crossing the entire map to go for a save if you know they're not on that side to begin with can be a very useful tool.
Forcing this mechanic not only devalues Pyramid Head's own Cage of Atonement not only in it's usefulness but as a new and unique mechanic, but it also takes that choice away from killers. It removes the strategy of deciding where to hook someone, and as a side note: it also completely removes the entire threat and function of the basement hooks as a strong defensive position."
Pyramid heads cages have no value at all

@cheetocultleader said:
A good pig won't hook someone with an activated helmet on though, or at least imo. They might slug them, causing others to spend time to get them up. You hope for head pops and focus on survivors doing gens.
Yes but remember devs cater to the noobs not the good players

The devs mentioned they don't want to do this or something similar, because they don't want to restrict a player's freedom of choice or something along these lines.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1425691#Comment_1425691
What if a chase hasn't been initiated? Say you're a wraith that's cloaked, or you have a very strong hunch someone is close by because you saw scratch marks really close by, or plain flat out sometimes a chase doesn't initiate unless you're really close, in all three of these situations you hang around the hook for a bit too long even though there is someone there the hooked survivor teleports away.
I mean, while this might have the potential to work, I feel like at that point you would be putting far more effort and pushing a fix that's needlessly complicated and potentially susceptible to bugs rather than something far more organic.
Not to mention, this change probably would have very little impact on high mobility killers like Hillbilly, Oni, Freddy, etc. because they can just zoom on over. Whereas this change would be very punishing on normal killers who don't have that kind of mobility or are even slower, killers like Clown, Plague, Pig, Leatherface, etc. In this way you are pushing good killers, meta killers, to be even more meta than they already are and you're pushing worse killers further and further into obscurity.
The only reason this mechanic works and works well for Pyramid Head and not as a default mechanic for hooks is because of the freedom of choice.

Camping isn't fun, it's not fun for the killer, it's not fun for the hooked survivor, and it's boring for the survivors doing gens not interacting with the killer. But this isn't the way to solve the problem, it's a bad idea.
Freedom of choice thats rich coming from the devs gutting legion nurse and soon to be billy

@RizeAki said:
Problem is survivors will abuse it by looping a hook causing it to teleport away then someone across map gets the free save cuz you know “shouldn’t have camped”
Then if a surv is nearby the timer will pause
-
@ClickyClicky said:
What would Ghostface and Wraith players do then though?
Also Hag could still get past it.
Seriously its a great idea but killer mains have veto powers so no never gonna happen
If i remember correctly killers don't have any say at all look at the billy nerf thats 100% getting added without our say so

Yes, I know it sucks that they slapped a cooldown on Billy and tokens on Bubba.
Yes, I know it sucks that they changed the passive on Balanced Landing.
Yes, I know it sucks that they changed Pyramidhead in the latest update.
Yes, I know it sucks that they made maps smaller to help some killers out.
I promise that if you just keep playing the game like normal, you'll be fine. You'll relearn whatever it is they changed and everything will be fine.
Truthfully, I don't think I've ever been in a community with a bigger bunch of entitled, whining children. It's not the end of the world. In the end, remember that it's just a video game.

🙄
@SirCipher The reports are forwarded to the ACM's for investigation, they will review the chat logs and decide what action to take...that could be a temporary ban or a permanent ban depending on the circumstances (previous temp bans etc).
All reports are looked at and dealt with and action is taken on them providing that something bannable has actually occurred and there is sufficient evidence. You do not receive notification of what action was taken though.
Still proving how unprofessional y'all are

Just a discussion to talk about some of the things the devs have done well on in their game
- Reworking Freddy to be less confusing for new players and more keep him in line as a basic killer
- Reworking Doctor to be stronger because he was in a weird spot and felt bad for new players with all the timings and stance management.
- Fixed the hags addons to be just upgrades rather than this stat up this stat down in a weird cycle
- Changed infinites to not be just easy killer distraction or save havens
- Added the entity blocker to windows
- Consistently add new content
- Listen and fix community problems even if they are big long term projects, dedicated servers to help fix lag and killers lag switching, and now hit validation due to vpning being rampant.
- Actually Joining in the discussion with the community, helping both clarify questions and add to conversation rather than just be bystanders.
- Letting trapper reopen his traps and removing trap sabotage
- Letting hooks respawn
- Changing tool boxes to be more short term rather than entire match with massively increased gen speed
- Adding exhaustion to allow adding good strong perks to the game
- Making the unlicensed cast of characters purchasable through earn able in-game currency
- Giving 5 killers to start with all with their own playstyles and perks
- Events in general
- Sending out dev updates to give us some insight on what is planned to be changed next
- Increasing the rarity of loot in chests from very rare to ultra rare
- Increasing the amount of perks on level 50 bloodwebs from 2 to 4
- Leaving escape cakes and blood puddings in the bloodweb instead of removing them when the event added
- Increasing the general gain of bp in game and from offerings some offerings were increased from 25-50% 50-75% and 75-100% which drastically increased the earning of bloodpoints in game
Through all the "bad things" they have done they have still done a whole other list of things that were fantastic to the game.
Now add all the bad things they did to killers
-
200 take it or leave it
-
Cause survivors only want to genrush and dont want to do bones and when they get hit with noed they cry and complain its to op and meanwhile devs are gutting killers to please survivors to make them "fair" and "fun" for survivors to bully and teabag
-
Oh boy a rise in camping leatherfaces and a downfall of hillbilly a killer that actually requires skill get nerfed to nothing
