New Jesus cosmetic with the event halo looks pretty sweet if I do say so myself.
-
I was torn between Supernatural and anything Ghost Face related.
-
I'm holding out a small hope it's Brenda. Please don't pelt me with tomatoes, lol.
-
I bought the Stranger Thing's package deal when I joined, and I gotta say I never regretted having Inner Strength on almost all of my survivors. I think there was only one it didn't pop up for within the first 40 levels.

I completely agree with you on schools, I want different indoor maps, maybe the overlook hotel from the shining. Carrie would be very interesting with her telekenetic powers, but she looks too normal to be in dbd.
Idk, I think there'd be something very creepy about the killer looking some what normal, but with wide eyes and suddenly shifting to being covered in blood. That stiff posture she had in the movie.
The Shining hotel would be excellent. Perhaps they could just do a Stephen King chapter, if he ever agrees to it. Elements from various parts of his work.

I feel like IT is a bit overrated. I love IT and it is one of my favourite books, but I don't think it's his best. My favourite aspect of IT is the macroverse and the turtle Maturin. The IT book is much better and more brutal than the movies though.
Same. Never been a fan of IT. I even like his Rose Red stuff better. Speaking of, DBD needs a mansion indoor map. As much as I love Midwich (I know, most don't) -- enough with the schools please.
If I got to choose one of his works to be in DBD though, I'd go with Carrie.

You can still get the masks by "owning" Deathgarden, I got them like a month ago.
Yep, just download it, turn it on once, and then log into DBD. I got it maybe 4 months ago.

SWF's can be powerful, without a doubt, but I doubt that bhvr would ban them out of the game. Besides that would make no sense since we play a multiplayer game.
The other way would be to make killers stronger, if a swf joins. Don't know if that is something dbd players would like. Other multiplayer games have make this already before and my feelings about this is mixed.
Yeah no way am I saying outright ban SWF. An increase in killer power level while balancing solo's to have the same amount of information is ideal.
-
I'd be alright with an original version. As far as Urban Legends & SCP stuff goes, he is the most modern & iconic, but he would need tweaking to actually fit in DBD.
-
@Talmeer said:
Well, I try to lower the rate of second chances perks, without letting bhvr do what they always do, aka nerf those perks to hell (like killer abilities and everything other).
Here at least can the user decide, if it is worth the risk, or if the bp value is still enough for him.
And yes, I know that a survivors needs no perks to win. I have see this very often in streams and so on. I play more the killer side. If I play survivor I play still with perks, but I avoid using the second chances perks, because I don't want to have the feeling that I have only survive because of those perks.
That would be to cheap for me.
That's the thing though, the perks don't need to be nerfed. They're fine how they are for the most part, with some real debate over DS. Gutting perks or BP isn't going to make anyone happy, especially since survivor's really don't make much on average as is. Plus who do you think uses those perks most effectively? Not usually newer players who still have a lot of grinding and learning to do. SWF teams are the ones you see everyone complaining about because they have 4 BT's, 4 DS's, 4 Unbreakables, & so on.
We can agree to disagree, but I just don't see the real issue being the perks themselves.
-

Well, we could also balance perks via perks.
Aka. If survivors decide to pull out their second chances perks, killers would be allowed to use a certain perk group with special strong perks. Some would need to made first, some already exist like noed. Perks like this one could be waiting in this group.
It would not be the same like your idea, but it would go a bit in this direction and also nags a bit on Deathslingers idea :).
And then who would run those perks? You can already win as survivor without those perks. You'd have people who would be pissed with the survivor who did use those perks which lead to NOED or worse, since most people do play solo. It would give killers more incentive to run NOED, which even killer mains agree isn't well balanced. Over all I think it would just be limiting, and more people would be pissed about the use of them. That's not very fun.
The current problem isn't with perks, its how they're used with your three other teammates. When you're solo you have 4 perks. When you're 4 man SWF that number jumps dramatically.
-
@Talmeer said:

That does the overuse of said perks already, imo. Sadly we can't have any data to this.
What needs to be addressed is killer's power level and solo information being on par with SWFs. I think perks would be a moot point then. Imo it's not solo's that make you feel the brunt of those meta perks.
-
Survivor's already don't make much BP wise. This would just discourage people from playing.
-
Most of the time when I get hook grabs I had enough time to position myself behind them, because otherwise it results in a hit. Survivor's shouldn't be rewarded for unhooking in front of a killer, because for me it's almost always someone I spotted directly after hooking. I think it's fine how it is.
-
@MeltingPenguins said:
also, lbr: How many survivors actually DO totems?
There's people in the game who wouldn't do totems even if they'd ALL spawn in the same location and be clearly labeled. and those people would STILL complain bout the killer running ruin/noed/haunted and how that's unfair and has no counter.
"If it glows, it goes." isn't a popular saying for no reason.
But yeah if the totem always spawned next to the killer, it wouldn't be hard to guess where it is. Even easier if you take shroud offerings. What they need to work on is general locations on old maps. Many of them have bad spawn points, like right across from generators on walls. Newer maps are much better, especially Dead Dawg Saloon. I know Midwich isn't popular with many but even the totem spawn points in open halls are hard to deal with, since both the killer and survivor can make a straight shot to it. I've seen games lost that way.

No Mither though. I felt like a beast when I got David's adept. The only survivor sided thing I can think of that would be harder is No Mither with OoO & no other perks. π

Ive been saying Alert is underrated for like 2 years and have always compared it to BBQ as proof.
BBQ max procs 12 times. But really the 12th proc is useless as the game is over at that point when you hook the 4th survivor 3rd time.
But Alert, it procs no less than 15+ times per match giving you way more aura time than BBQ ever could. And with no requirement to proc, simply sit and watch killer reveal themselves.
This. Alert is soooo good, and I didn't even realize it 'till about 2 weeks ago.
Technician is another Feng one that's undervalued. I've sat and done gens practically in front of a killer chasing someone.

There are players with over 7,000 hours in the game that run Spine Chill though.
Yeah I mean it's solid. Rank 1 meta? Maybe, but if it is it's just talked about less. Although I'm in the opinion you can run whatever you like and do just as well. I certainly do.
-
I mean for new players, it is meta. After my husband and I discovered it we ran it for ages, and he still does a lot. So even after you've put some time into the game, it's solid.

Survivor. Killer can be a lot of fun, but I laugh a lot more playing survivor, and like many said it's over all less stressful. Feels more like a 1 v 1 where as killer is always a 1 v 4. Plus, survivor has so many different perk combinations I can toy with. Killer has a lot less room for creativity, since with some I feel I need the meta to win.
-
Yeah I just gave up after a 15 minute wait as Killer. I'm in EST, so yeah it's early but it's not like 6 AM. It's almost 12 PM here.

@CrowFoxy said:
Depends on the kind of OoO user that I face. If they're good, and I see them doing gens I have pretty much no choice but to try and get them out of the game. Because they're doing the objective and likely relaying to their team what I'm doing.
If they're just trying to bait me into a chase, bodyblock, and do things like constantly flashlight I usually just ignore them.
Yep, this. There's only two types of OoO's that aren't new-player-Laurie. However, the real problem is the one's who hide they're using it too damn well 'till mid-game/late-game. Not much you can do but figure out quickly why you couldn't find anyone.
-
The event is over, so no more cakes until next anniversary.
-
Aw...... @Peanits @not_Queen Do somethin', lol. I was looking forward to this.
-
Could it have been better? Sure. I'd have liked survivor's cakes to be more plentiful after the fix, and for the bonuses to have stacked initially. Yet, I have Jesus Jeff and a lot of cakes on a few of my killers now. Was able to 1-50 4 killers. So I appreciate it. I'll miss the confetti med kits and flashlights.
-
I'm not color blind but I can barely see it on most maps.
-
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeah I'm just trying not to take it seriously, but I feel your pain! At least as Demo the survivors try to pet me and as Wraith I did get a juicy rank 1! I mean with the killers I'm playing, I'm not even sure if taking it seriously is a good idea, lol.
-
Did a quick count, and about 430 on Killer atm. On survivor I probably have 8, lol. I'd use them as I acquired them, and I didn't farm them when the event was broken and they were more plentiful.
-
I always brought a cake, besides the time someone brought a key. Though most of my matches now maybe two others bring a cake. I kind of understand it though, since cake drops were reduced. I took a lot of survivor's from 40-50 during the event and after cakes were reduced it didn't feel worth it. I'd make just enough to get ten levels. Where as on all of the killers I leveled to 50 during the event had 40+ cakes.

I said that to make myself see it from someone else's perspective. They don't know I have Red Herring, so all they see is someone jumping in a locker every so often. From my end I'm making the killer patrol my generator a lot more than the other two, so I'm doing my job. But someone who gets caught out and hooked sees me working on a gen for a few seconds, and then running into a locker to pull the killer away from them. They don't think "oh they have Red Herring," they think, "Ugh are they even trying?" Which is unfortunate.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1443281#Comment_1443281
It works a lot better with Quick and Quiet with the build, but anything works, really. I always recommend jumping in a locker far away from the generator though. If you find one that the killer has to pass in order to get to it, you get the satisfaction of knowing the killer fell for your distraction, but definitely don't stick around because killers can get a little paranoid or catch on that you're messing with them.
I'd be a tad worried if I went too far someone could hop on that generator, lol. Aura reading perks would work well with it though so I could get a read on everyone's position and/or the killers before doing it. Hmmm. I'll probably give it a go and see at some point.
-
My second match ever as Killer was all red ranks while I was at rank 20. They apologized, they felt so bad for me, lol. I hope the new MMR comes soon.

A survivor defended me(killer) from his angry teammates
I've had this happen a few times. Usually in regards to what is actually camping and what's not. I always appreciated it, because most of the time I try to play what I consider fair.
I had to defend a Kate a while back though. I was Myers, it was end game collapse, and only her & Lauire were left. I'd hooked Laurie, and walked off a bit. Kate unhooked her, and proceeded to take me on a chase. I hooked her, and Laurie left. At the end game, this rank 8 Laurie was trolling Kate, and mind you Kate had the most points despite death. I had to step in and be like "She saved you, you left her to die, and she still had the most work put into the game despite your 5k points for escaping. If you play better, you might get to rank 2 like her." Laurie was none too happy but couldn't rebuff me. Kate thanked* me and gave me hearts, lol.
-
Idk I hang around rank 2 and just run whatever I want on the survivor side. I haven't been fussed at about it. I'm in the opinion you can run just about anything and still win. There has only been one instance I can think of that annoyed me, and it wasn't perk related. A Jane thought it was a good idea to hop in and out of a locker half the match, lol. You reminded me of it with your Red Herring build, but I'm curious: Did it work OP? Sounds fun.
For the record most killers feel like a whole different story. I gotta find good perks if I want to win, and I'm not even close to red ranks atm.

Wraith is best with a hit and run style, with for me Sloppy, Thana and Nurses.
Get everyone injured and gens go slow. If they want to heal with sloppy, it will take them longer and with Nurses, you can get that second hit in to down them π
Yeah I've been leveling Wraith recently and I've found this build works best for me so far. Nice to see someone else give it some confirmation! I've been trying a lot of fiddling.
Wraith is def fun to play as and against but imo opinion so far he's pretty low tier. I need more experience though with him.

You could still get the points for what would have been a stun, it's just he does not get the stun animation/fatigue. Walking through pallets i think is a little too strong in my opinion. If not the exposed effect, it could have built i spirit fury where the more pallets he gets hit with, the faster each breaks until say after 4/5 pallets; every pallet is instantly destroyed.
I thought about that, but it might be a bit confusing. I suppose people get use to it quickly enough though, and it's hard for me to say it would effect new players much. I've only been playing for 6 months, so I'm a fresh player. There's a lot that's confusing at first but we get through it. If there's varying play styles though it could serve him. Say, one add on that does this, and another that does what you mentioned with pallets. If it's base kit though, then idk what the play styles could be for add on's. Just really hope they give him various options.
And he needs to be able to just walk through breakable walls. That's iconic.
-
I like the "no stun" idea people have had, because it suits. It would suck to go against that as a survivor though, 'cause it would cut into my survival scoring. He needs to be an absolute brute though, and I'd hope like Michael his add on's would give him a few varying play styles.
-
If Stranger Things was still coming out this year (it got delayed due to corona), then they'd probably have waited for the premiere with follow up skins from the new season. I suspect if they get permission though, they might release them before hand. I don't think we'll be seeing a new ST 'till early to mid 2021.
-
Nancy was my first fav, but that's because my hubs was playing Steve. He quit Steve. :'c He's a blendy now.
I play her, Feng, Cheryl, & Nea quite a bit. Nea because I love her pineapple outfit with a fervent passion. I've not decided who to prestige yet, but it'll probably be Cheryl. Her P3 is epic.
-
When I first started playing, I thought kicking a gen did a lot more than what it does. It would be nice if kicking a generator at least knocked 5-10% progression off & then slowly reduced from there on. If a decent chunk was knocked off, it might discourage gen tapping as well, since if they decided to touch the gen right in front of the killer they could lose more than they gain.
-
Sam should be taller than Dean by like a mile. π But I really hope we get this eventually. Seems a lot of people want it. Castiel legendary, por favor.
-
If one of Neil Gaiman's works were to be added, this is the one I'd want too. I'd say The Sandman, but he just wouldn't fit in either role given his powers and moral compass.
-
Piggu: Sloppy, Nurses, Discordance, & BBQ. Thanataphobia is excellent to swap out for BBQ if you don't care about points. I prefer the add on's that give you an extra reverse bear trap, Jigsaw box, or increase time to search a box. With all of this, you can drag a game out for a good while. It's one of the reasons I like pig so much -- my perks aren't tied up in gen regression. Her base kit with add on's can keep them distracted for a bit. Sloppy/Nurses/Thanata keeps them trying to heal. Discordance lets me know which gens are being rushed and helps with ambush.

Wrong. Look at Goya foods CEO. He stood up for something and they are trying to boycott his company. Also look at Chick file A awhile back. The CEO, not even the company, but the CEO made a personal statement and there was backlash. Companies only look respectful to the woke mob if it supports a woke cause.
And SpongeBob is not gay. He's a children's cartoon for crying out loud. He never had any sexuality before; it's only being brought up because of the political climate.
I was like "Da fuq could Goya do?" Googled it, and now questioning this ice cold agua de coco by my side. Sigh.

Too many. Everything from Stardew Valley, to Tomb Raider, to Darkest Dungeon, Cultist Simulator, etc. My most recent buys are Gris, Red Dead Redemption 2, & Night In The Woods. I've not played the latter two yet. Last one I finished was Virgo VS The Zodiac, and it was sooo good. Granted, DBD has been hogging most of my gaming time the last few months.
If I picked some all time favorite games though, I will always default to PS1 & PS2 horror's like Silent Hill 2, Rule of Rose, Parasite Eve, & Fatal Frame.

This made me think of a match I had a few days ago. It was a Deathslinger with Rancor, and he chased me 95% of the game. EGC had started, and he'd hooked someone. I broke his NOED and he came back my way, so I said fk it and let him kill me so the other two could escape & he'd get his kill. He worked so hard for it. End game chat was super nice as well, and it was a fun match all in all. He was a rank 8 I think, and I hang around rank 2. My team was a rainbow.

I've turned off my chat. If I win, I get cussed out. If I lose, it's much the same. I turn it back on sometimes though, like tonight I could have gotten a 4k but the two survivors left were so cute. They risked their lives to boop me. I'm weak for it. Now, if it's the start of the game, and you try to boop me, ur gonna get bit. Occasionally at end game though I feel nice, lol.
