Fair. No different than survivors using adrenaline.

Survivors have to finish their objective to get adrenaline which is a basically a longer sprint burst and 1 health state.

What do killers need to do to get noed which is an infinite instadown combined with increased movement speed? πŸ€”

  • @Rivyn said:

Survivors that complain about NOED yet defend Adrenaline.

Difference being that adrenaline is something survivors have to work for whereas noed is something the killer can get while eating a sandwich.

  • Killers are hosting the game at this moment so if you're already on the other side of a window it will look like you're just vaulting said window for the killer if they have a laggy connection which results in a successful hit. Dedicated servers are coming this year, though and hopefully they'll be fixing stuff so people don't get hit from a mile of distance on their screens.

  • The award winning chilli accelerates your real life heart rate by 100% everytime you hit an obstacle which results in a 7 second stun.

  • I've never seen a good killer use noed. Imo it's a perk for new players who can't win otherwise.

    thank you!

Ok so what's the point of the thread anyways? Console players are babies PC players are gods? Is that what you want to read? πŸ€”

  • Console players aren't better or worse - they just have to deal with the limitations of a controller, worse resolution and worse fps with occasional lag spikes.

  • It does sound similar and that demogorgon thing looks scary as hell. I have ti admit I don't know anything about stranger things, though. Anyone know whar kind of "abilities" that thing has?

  • Quote: "I only do these things (camp/tunnel) if there just toxic, Taking out my Hex in the first min off the game makes me camp because i only have 3 perks."

So cleansing your hex totem is toxic? What are survivors supposed to do when they find your totem? Ignore it?

I can tell you only have 200 hours in the game. When I was new I played without ruin (and without noed) till purples as huntress - a 110% killer. that was when survivors had:

    - twice the number of pallets on some maps

    - stronger windows

    - pallet vacuums

    - multiple sprint bursts (before the exhaustion nerf)

    - borrowed time that protected BOTH survivors

    - old decisive strike

etc. I still won more often than not despite all that. If YOU basically give up just because your hex gets cleansed too early then you have to git gud.

That is why I said maybe 120 seconds. But gens really do need to be slowed down for other weaker killers.

120 seconds is a 50% increase which would be the end of dead by daylight. No human on earth would "actively" play survivor if generators took that long as it would allow any 0 hour killer to 4k without mindgames or any sort of strategy more often than not.

The developers used to say they're aiming for an average result of 2 deaths/2 escapes which is why dbd's current state is likely to be buffed towards survivors since most (good) killers 4k all the time.

  • Right... Increase the gen time by 50% so Hillbilly, Nurse and Spirit mains can 4k at 5 gens every game. Sounds balanced.

  • Just do what everyone else does. Play killer. Playing solo survivor is one terrible/boring experience right now.

  • Vigil didn't even get fixed. Just tested the exhaustion duration. It's still 40 seconds even though Vigil is supposed to reduce it by 20% which means 32 seconds.

  • What are you trying to say?

  • Looping is not an exploit. Using collision to your advantage is a skill that is used by survivors AND killers. As a Bubba main I use my collision to block windows so I can instadown survivors instead of using the hammer. That's not an exploit. It's using your collision to your advantage. Wraith mains can relate.

An exploit is a beneficial in-game error such as wake up (fixed) or the crazy tinkerer 2 (fixed) exploit that was widely used last year. Remember the days of 0 terror radius Hillbillies?

A small question: Do you think a 0 hour rank 20 killer should be able catch a 1000 hour rank 1 survivor?

  • So you're basically saying every killer is bad unless you get a 4k with no perks and addons consistently?

Quote: "A solid perk build and some mind games might help but that is not the killer getting the downs, its the perks"

  • Just watched the video. The 5th gen popped just after 11 minutes. How is that gen rush?

  • I got called speedhacker numerous times myself when I used sprint burst as survivor and double engravings as Hillbilly. There's your answer. You have to prove it because most of the time it's newbies who don't understand basic games features and call "HAAAAXXXX!!!" when the other played was simply using a perk or addon.

  • 3k hours mostly 50/50 with some killer main phases. Imo it goes like this (hardest to easiest):

    - Solo survivor: You can play like a god and the killer can still kill you even if he's trash at the game. Typical scenario whenever I play survivor: I get chased for a decent amount of time and during the chase I see my team mates crouching around the map because they're too bad to do gens with ruin. Most of the time they waste minutes searching for ruin which makes my chases completely meaningless no matter how long I run the killer.

    - Killer: If you know the maps and their variations, basic mindgames and run a decent perk build you can dominate at least 80% of all games you play even with a mid tier killer.

    - SWF: The game was never balanced around survivors with voice communication. SWF = the power of information which can save a lot of time and help with decisions ("you stay on the gen while I'm going for the unhook" to name a sample) which is a major factor is dbd.

  • Not gonna lie it's a weak "build" as it doesn't cover the core elements of strong survivor gameplay which is:

    1) doing gens as quickly as possible

    and

    2) running the killer as long as possible

    Your perks:

    - Calm spirit: Completely useless unless it's a Doctor which is a weak killer anyways. I would never hide against him as he can't do nothing to get a quick down unless you don't know the basics of dbd.

    - Dance with me: Useless without quick and quiet (and/or lithe) AND completely map dependant. Most maps allow the killer to see where you're going after your vault.

    - Plunderer: Basically just a big waste of time. You could be repairing a generator but instead you're fishing for items which rarely are worth the time invested for running to the chests and opening them.

Not to be a wise guy, but I think the devs already know the queue times for killers are horrible.

You'd be surprised how little the devs know about their own game.

So am I being toxic when I get looped 10 times, pallets dropped on me, DH into sprint burst into window vault burst, tbagged to death, finally down the ahole just to get hit with DS, finally down them again so I face camp him for pissing me off and tormenting me with leather face. Here's a tip: if the killer is leather face, don't play toxic because I'll dish it right back and your gonna lose. Might only get 1k, but it was worth it to me and I DARE one of your teammates to make the save. Lmao

Translation: "Go down easily or I'll facecamp you because trying to survive is ToXiC REEEEEE!!!!"

I don't know, since i started to play dbd again generators pop up way too fast, at least games as killer are pretty short.🀨

Experiences can greatly differ. I have 4k'd about 30 games in a row now (recorded every single one of them but haven't watched the videos myself as most chases are not even exciting) but as a solo survivor I rarely ever survive no matter how good (or bad) I play since most of the time random team mates are not dependable in the slightest.

  • Struggling should happen automatically and the action button should instead have the function to "give up/stop struggling". Literally not a single person enjoys spamming a button everytime they get hooked the second time.

  • No one got punished for the tinkerer 2 exploit neither so take your "the devs are favouring one side" bs elsewhere. They're game developers not killer or survivor mains.

  • Just play killer. It's - BY FAR - easier right now than solo survivor.

You make it sound like in suggesting this replace the regular mode that has perks. I'm simply suggesting an additional mode.

I generally like any content added to the game. I'm just saying I'd personally most likely not use a perkleee mode for the reason above since I enjoy thinking of new builds and trying to figure out what perks everybody's running etc.

Actually, this used to be requested a lot. Expect to see it requested more as well.

A lot of us would actually play it, myself included.

After about 3000 hours I see absolutely no reason to even play dbd anymore if it wasn't for all the perk builds that allow for various gamestyles. Everytime a chapter drops I'm wondering if the new perks allow new builds to surprise people. Without perks dbd would feel completely blunt to me.

  • Sounds boring imo

  • @jeridan said:

Agility seems useless on paper but I wouldn't mind seeing/testing it in gameplay.

Parkour would be useless unless it extended your distance from the window. Non of the vault speed boosters now increase your distance from the default fast vault distance.

I forgot to mention "agility" is supposed to look more like a little jump to the side rather than an actual step covering like 2 meters similar to some american football exercises.

As for "parkour": Perhaps it should additionally increase the momentum of vaults as well by 20%/25%/30% resulting in bigger clearance to the window/pallet after the jump. That way it would secure a strong vault ability whenever the perk is ready.

Tiers are very much subjective, killers have different abilities and powers that create completely different gameplays, so people can choose the one they enjoy the most and try to master it.

Of course some killers are stronger in general than others, but someone could still be bad with a top tier killer and great with a low tier killer.

Agreed. Despite the fact that some killers are quite simply capable of doing certain things better than other killers the used potential of a killer always comes down to the player using said killer.

Some people are awesome with Wraith and seemingly hopeless with Hillbilly despite the fact Hillbilly is generally considered one of the strongest killers in the game as opposed to Wraith.

  • The vast majority of dbd players are casuals who don't even know the term "exploit". Some of them may have bought Quentin and play him with his own perks.

According to some forum users these people should get banned after spending their money buying game content simply because they abused something unknowingly.

Not everyone spends his life checking bugs and exploits in a game. Normal people spend the vast majority of their day working and you expect these people to come home and inform themselves about any bug in any game before playing said game?

No, that's not how it works. The developer of a game is responsible for game content and has to make sure it can't be abused by either hotfixing bugs/exploits or by locking content that may be bugged.

That's not true. You need to time it well for it to help you. You can't just spam it or not plan it ahead because unless you are lucky, you are just wasting your time in chase. He can stop some loops / windows at some spots, but it's all about how good Doc you are and how good / bad is Survivor that you are chasing.

You realize I literally said "even with the best timed shock", don't you? I mained Doctor for a long time so I know everything there is to know about him. In fact I would go as far as to say I was the one of the better Doctor mains on console as I dominated with him up to red ranks without ruin or noed.

That doesn't change the fact that canceling actions is highly inconsistent. I had survivors vault windows WHILE SCREAMING from the shock that I timed perfectly which results in overly long chases that lead to a mediocre game at best unless the survivors are complete potatoes.

  • Doctor has nothing in his package that allows him to end chases quickly. His ability slows him down by 5% and even the best timed shock still won't stop a survivor from vaulting a window or pallet sometimes which again results in chases that last too long.

He's a god like tracker but a weak chaser. He was the second killer I mained and I really liked him but against survivors who don't care about stealth and just hop on the gens whenever they can he's completely hopeless.

@Yamaoka who says that bloodlust will still be here when the map reworks are done? Maybe theyll start toning blood lust down even more it would make sense...

    Hopefully!

I know how annoying it can be to get looped for minutes - I really do. Back then it was hell with all those close calls that got nullified because of the pallet vaccuum especially combined with a second sprint burst but right now it just feels lousy to get a 4k (sometimes) because more often than not I know I downed someone because there was nothing they could have used to get away.

I want intense chases and REAL mindgames not this stupid robot kind of chase where you simply walk after a survivor till they run into one of many dead zones.

  • @Peanits said:

We're going to be reworking maps going forward and it should partially address your issue. There will be more pallets on average than there are now, but these loops are going to be much shorter. It will be possible to mindgame around them to get a hit. This will mean a lot less time looping and a lot more potential for skilled plays.

We showed an example in the anniversary stream. Currently there's a lot of pallets where the only option is to break it, giving the survivor a huge head start and greatly extending the chase. There's going to be less of these and more of the ones where you can try to outsmart each other.

Translation: The upcoming pallet changes will allow any new killer to bloodlust any survivor no matter where they are allowing even new killers to win against the most experienced survivors in the world. Why on earth would anybody want to play survivor if skill doesn't get rewarded?

I've been a killer main when pallet vaccuums and multiple sprint bursts during a chase were a thing. Even back then I won most games as Huntress without ruin or noed till I hit purple ranks. It's just sad where this game is going. Even the worst killer is supposed to win against experienced survivors "bEcAuSe It'S tHe PoWeR rOlE!!!".

Right now it feels like I can't lose even if I wait for a minute at the beginning of a match. Haven't lost a single game in weeks. But sure, let's make it so any killer can 4k at all times and say "it now takes more skill to win as survivor" when in reality survivors are getting robbed of any opportunity to win a chase.

  • Imagine complaining about the only thing that requires skill as a killer - catching a looping survivor. I would IMMEDIATELY uninstall the game if I had to search survivors all day. That's boring as hell. As a killer I want to CHASE people and not look around for minutes and pick them up like coins as soon as I find them.

In fact I had a game with 4 survivors that kept hiding at swamp for minutes the other day. I was about to quit the game after checking ALL generators about 5 times. As soon as I found them they went down in 3 seconds because none of them had any skills.

That's the game you want? No, just no.

  • @Bravo0413 said:

With this bug +left behind +Spine chill and resilience and a purple toolbox you can do gens in 9.45 seconds...... dont believe.... search up cowsiam.... he just posted a vid about it

How is that relevant when the main factor is left behind which can't be used unless you're the last survivor?

  • Spirit Fury, Enduring, Brutal Strength?

  • 98% I forgot how many heads a totem has because my totems usually last 3 seconds so I never get to see them.

  • Just a visual bug as far as I know.

  • My games haven't been any different. Survivors always try to finish their objective as quickly as possible just like killers. Do you hesitate if you see a chance to kill a survivor quickly? I doubt it.

  • @The_Daydreamer said:

Uh tbh, I don't understand the problem. I played yesterday many, many trials and I didn't notice any difference. Those changes are for me barely noticable.

I could fast vault at any time like before. Maybe that's because I always run straight to it or do a little curve to trigger the event.

I could run my loops and do my mindgames without problems...

Watch the op's video especially the last 5 seconds. The survivor runs straight at the killer shack window and still gets the medium vault.
