I’m not allowed to upload my gameplay since I am not old enough to move out of my parents home so rules are rules. If you don’t wanna believe me then that’s fine though.

I'm not saying I don't believe you or anything. I literally managed to down all 4 survivors in 38 seconds yesterday as Bubba (new world record?) so I know pretty much anything can happen in dbd every now and then if people play like potatoes and/or meme around but that doesn't reflect the average game.

The average game is what ruin is used for. It's sort of like a small (unreliable) "time insurance" if that makes sense since you can never know how long it takes to find (and down) the first survivor. If everybody hides at the start of the game and hops right onto the same gen as soon as you walk past by you'll lose 1 gen before your first chase unless you run discordance.

Now you're sitting at 4 gens without ruin and 4 survivors who're at full health and 0 hooks. How likely is it to win without tunneling, camping, slugging, noed at this point IF everyone know how to use basic loops and doesn't go down in 10 seconds?

If ruin lasts like 1.5 - 2 minutes you're more likely to get "consistent" games that won't end in a few minutes. That's why like 90% of red rank killer mains use it.

I play Wraith at high ranks without ruin. I still don’t think it is needed.

Wanna share some gameplay of yours? I really want to see how Wraith manages to 4k / 12 hook without ruin (and obviously without noed) against decent red rank survivors who know how to use basic loops.

  • @Andreyu44 said:

    No,its not good.

    Good killers don't need it.

Yeah because all killers play under the same circumstances. Nurse and Clown have exactly the same map pressure, both can control gens identically and both have the same potential when it comes to ending chases quickly against strong survivors regardless of the map - right?

Nobody needs ruin (or any other perk) to beat bad survivors, though.

  • Personally I only expect ruin to last roughly 2 minutes allowing me to build some sort of early game momentum. If it gets cleansed after a few hooks I'll happily play the rest of the game with 3 perks.

Ruin only sucks if someone literally spawns on it (which sadly happens extremely often) resulting in a 3 perk game after a few seconds.

Pop Goes The Weasel is a fine alternative as you can literally stop a 99% gen last second but doesn't provide the early game momentum of ruin.

  • That guy wasn't serious... I think... Based on the Linkin Park reference haha.

  • "I can see why you're playing Leatherface. He's ######### just like you!"

  • It's too slow on its own and being able to heal yourself quickly enough (self care+botany knowledge) isn't worth 2 perk slots in my opinion.

  • @CoffengMin said:

i want vigil, the only perk i dont have

It's actually a good perk now after its bug fix. Tried it the other day and got rid of my exhaustion JUST before the killer found me allowing me to sprint burst to the closest loop without getting hit.

  • As most people may know I main Bubba. I used to rotate and play many killers regularly but at some point I kind of got bored of most killers except for Bubba. I just LOVE swinging that big chainsaw wildly while having total movement control. Sometimes I use the chainsaw at ridiculous distances just because I enjoy using it. With the right build and loads of experience he's definitely viable despite his standard 115% mobility.

  • Always thought XYZ-MAIN meant you're exclusively playing that one character or at least like 95% of the time. 🤔

Why though? I think Claudette looks funny and adorable especially when she looks up 😁

  • Why even discuss something as trivial as a pip? 🤔

  • Let me start off by saying I like your honesty. It's pretty normal to feel "nothing" when you get destroyed as a survivor since it's a 4 vs 1 game resulting in the focus being on the 1 person who is the killer.

Why exactly are you afraid to lose as killer, though? Is it because you made bad experiences with toxic people who took advantage of your lack of experience to rub it in?

Anyways it sounds like you need something to boost your confidence. Master a killer of your choice to the point where you think you could play said killer god-like at any given time. Doesn't need to be a S tier killer necessarily since the "used potential" of a killer always comes down to the person using said killer.

None of those are as annoying or powerful as a leatherface camper. Against an insidious leatherface it is literally impossible to save anyone from a hook without both rescuer and rescued going down. At least with the other things you mentioned there is a chance at least one escapes. Against a leatherface with insidious there is no chance.

How do you unhook against the things I mentioned (solo)?

Tier 3 Myers? Not a chance.

Huntress with one shot hatchets? Not a chance.

Clown with one shot bottles? Not a chance.

Doctor in treatment mode? Not a chance.

Hillbilly with revving chainsaw? Not a chance.

Plague with blood vomit? Not a chance.

Sometimes people will have no chance to unhook forcing everyone to rush gens and get out as quickly as possible. It's part of the game if the killer decides to play lame. That's no reason to rework a whole character and doesn't even solve the thing most people dislike so much - camping.

  • @Gardenia said:

I've gotten a response! He said he will try to find 3 other of his friends to do it. He's down for it, but doesn't know if anyone else he knows would. *Fingers crossed*

  • @Horus said:

Just rework him in general hes an annoying camper pick in my opinion

Loads of killers can camp efficiently so let's rework Hillbilly, Clown with instabottles, Huntress (with and without instahatchets), Ghostface, Myers, Doctor (instagrab in treatment mode), Wraith (cloaked to avoid borrowed), Pig (crouched to avoid borrowed), Plague with blood vomit, any killer with noed while we're at it.

  • When did they say they're gonna "rework" Bubba?

I'll try to give you some genuine arguments on why I feel Bubba could use some attention

    1. Unlike his chainsaw counterpart, Bubba doesn't get any map pressure from his chainsaw. In an open field he can catch someone with relative ease but overall map travel he's got nothin going for him.

    2. He gets looped hard. He's strong around some pallets but most he's not. Windows mess him up badly tho. I've seen arguments that with precision steering he can veer through loops and end them fast but frankly his controls aren't precise enough that I accept that as an argument. Especially for console players who really can't control nearly as well as PC. Honestly this wouldn't be as big of a problem if not for

    3. His tantrum. When Billy collides with something he's out for maybe 1-2 seconds. Leatherface is out for what, 5 seconds? Sure you can't approach him in those 5 seconds but you have no reason to, he's essentially stationary and you can just book it away.

    4. You made the argument that his chainsaw can down 2+ survivors at once, and that's true. But while killers like Freddy and Hag rely on Survivors making a very small mistake, Leatherface relies on multiple survivors making a catastrophic mistake at the same time. It isn't even in the realm of being consistent so it can't be considered a pro in his corner so much as a slight possibility.

There's other minor things that hinder him but those are the big ones. He's got potential but in his current state he's never gonna be higher than maybe D tier at red and purple ranks.

All of your arguments are solid and can be agreed with which is why I usually say some "minor" QoL changes would be appropriate. But people act like his chainsaw was basically not a thing when in reality most people merely don't see the very existent opportunities to use it during a game.

I've chainsawed so many people over the course of the thousands of hours I've put into Bubba during and even AFTER fast vaults with something as simple as the long guide bar. Hiding your red glow often allows you to chainsaw even experienced survivors in structures like jungle gyms at times, too.

Most killers get a "hit" if survivors make a mistake. Bubba gets a chance to instadown during most of these situations instead. Surely that must be enough to not consider him weak let alone the weakest killer in the game when other killers have the "power" to hand out free borrowed times which is greatly ignored as long as survivors stay inside your terror radius.

  • @hahmraro said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/599272#Comment_599272

Step 1: Say that a obviously weak killer needs some love

Step 2: Wait at the eventual player that mains that killer to come out and say that he is a living God with it and it doesn't need any buffs

    Step 3: Laugh at him

Leatherface mains not only are unlikable INSIDE the game, but OUTSIDE aswell.

Still waiting for evidence that Bubba -a killer with a legit instadown- is weak other than "he's obviously weak".

Yeah I get it most people are bad at the game and thus play Bubba like a M1 killer but know that doesn't mean he's weak - it means you're just bad.

  • Doesn't change the fact Bubba can end games more quickly than most other killers if survivors make mistakes like they (obviously) did. They sticked so closely together because they were planning to sabo hooks I guess judging by their lery offering combined with petrified oak offerings to spread the hooks further apart.

I ended up slugging all 4 in just over 1 minute which wouldn't have been possible without Bubba's instadown.

In my opinion there's numerous killers that REALLY do need some love such as Legion, Doctor, Wraith, Pig and Clown.

  • Well, I love the fact there's so much potential variety in this game due to the numerous possibilities granted by perk builds. Survivors and killers can be vastly altered depending on their perk builds forcing every person to adapt every game.

I just like these "DAMN! the killer runs (insert name of perk here)!" kind of moments.

  • Quote: "with idiot survivor teammates that won't even talk when i invite to party."

Not everyone wants to talk to complete strangers. That's completely legit. I never join party requests either. In fact I usually leave the lobby if someone invites me to party because those guys are usually complete potatoes who go down in 5 seconds (no offence intended - just what I noticed over the course of the past 2 years).

As for playing killer: Basically what @Orion said.

  • Has anyone tested if it works with Trapper's honing stone traps? Would be crazy if someone got put into the dying state on the other side of the map while everyone around Trapper screams reavealing their position resulting in loads of sudden pressure.

  • Read the perk description again. It was heavily buffed. It now works under all circumstances. Every killer and every attack can now trigger the perk's effect.

  • @Awakey said:

I agree. Currently the weakest killer in the game.

True. I can merely down a whole SWF team in one minute without camping at Lery's using NOTHING BUT MY CHAINSAW. Definitely too weak.

If the devs ever decide to fix/buff/rework my chilli addons I'll be happy enough.

I feel like you aren't listening to anyone's responses at all. They aren't saying that you should hide after being hurt, they think you should want to hide and remain unfound.

Sure, some perks do prevent that. And if stealth were to become more prominent, they would need to be adjusted. But as of current, Survivors hold the advantage over most killers in both chases and stealth. Due to heartbeat and redstain, only two (pig and GF) and 1/3 (tier one MM) are capable of doing stealth stuff.

And then when it comes to chases, survivors in general have an advantage over killers. Killers can hit and grab and use powers of course, as well as move faster, but survivors have a lot more at their disposal than any killer. Huntress on standard had (i think) five hatchets. Survivors have at least triple that many pallets. Billy is capable of moving at immense speeds and instadowning. But you can hop through a window, use an ability like DH or SB (which actually makes you just as fast as billy), or even pallet slam them out of it.

Nobody here is saying Looping should be removed entirely from the game (short of joking about). They are saying the game should put more of an emphasis on stealth instead of just looping, which as of since the beginning, looping is a better option. There is no fear or suspense to playing this game, like at the beginning. Unless you get a select few killers such as Nurse, Billy, or Spirit, the only time the game is scary (unless you are immersion or new) is when you get snuck up on by one of the silent killers or find out they are running an exposion item.

So calm down and see these things through. I main killer and even I think removing looping entirely is stupid. But there should be more viability to other options other than ring a round a rosey when you play against a killer

Sprint Burst and Dead Hard is just as fast as Hillbilly? No, not even close.

    Sprint Burst / Dead Hard = 150%

    Hillbilly sprint (default) = 230%

You can just hop through a window to avoid his chainsaw? You mean like this Jane Romero at 6:18 who was already looking/moving to the left side AFTER vaulting the window and still got hit by my chainsaw?

    https://youtu.be/pFlFw8BZZXU

  • I'm on XB1, too.

  • Not gonna lie I hate stealth no matter wether I play killer or survivor. Nothing is more boring than checking ALL generators MULTIPLE TIMES because everyone's urban-ing around like a scared chicken and nothing is more frustrating than getting chased by the killer for minutes just to eventually see an immersed player in the bushes while you're looping the killer.

Unlike others I want to chase people as killer and want to have intense chases against the killer when playing survivor. Isn't this supposed to be the fun part about dbd? Literally every single map consists of loopable structures for a reason.

  • In-game toxicity (tbagging, flashlight clicking, hand animations after stunning me etc) I don't mind most of the time. Actually I kinda like flashlight clickers since I reaaally really hate searching for (immersed) players.

Post-game toxicity (salty messages) is annoying at times but I still allow people to contact me because every now and then there's a good sport who messages me something wholesome.

  • Campers remind me of Spongebob.

except ... no mithers get hooked straight away in my experience

Another thing is the fact that even if no mithers do NOT get hooked straight away they'll sometimes still get picked up just before recovering completely. I posted this one before but still a good example:

    https://youtu.be/PDy0qCLLZyU

I downed the no mither guy at 0:25 and managed to take down 2 others before he was able to recover. I picked him up at about 0:55. He must have been at like 99% but still wasn't able to get up in time even though I wanted him to have a chance of using it.

Long story short: Recovering takes way too long and running no mither WITH unbreakable for the extra recovery speed is a waste since most killers will immediately pick up a survivor turning most games into "ultra difficult mode" as you effectively play with 2 perks if the killer doesn't slug while being 1 shot all the time.

  • @CoffengMin said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/595265#Comment_595265

tbf these counters are pretty bad, only unbreakable works well and its 1 time use, no mither will get you killed most times

@CoffengMin True. No Mither is basically "suicide mode" in most cases but some perks actually worked out a few times for me. Unbreakable is obviously decent albeit not a complete counter against killers who intend to slug all game due to its one time use but tenacity is really strong against slugging as you can recover AND (quickly) crawl to an area where it's worth getting up as you typically get slugged in dead zones. It helps you get to a place where you can't immediately get slugged again.

Personally (but that's just me) I think it's actually kind of fun to get slugged with tenacity because that perk makes crawling feel sort of fast even though you still move at a lousy 26.25% which is 1.05m/s. I wish the devs would buff tenacity at some point.

  • You're referring to "slugging" which can be countered by numerous perks actively or passively.

    - unbreakable: Allows you to recover 33% faster and get up "without help" once per trial

    - tenacity: allows you to crawl 50% faster AND recover at the same time allowing you to crawl towards a team mate WHILE recovering making slugging extremely difficult if not even useless as the killer will have no idea where you went unless they run deerstalker

    - no mither: allows you to get up infinitely [till you eventually run out of blood so not exactly infinitely] (but allows any killer to instadown you)

    - buckle up: allows team mates to see your recovery status/progress AND if someone helps you get up you AND the person who healed you are able to see the killer's aura for up to 6 seconds allowing both of you to avoid him making it extremely difficult for the killer to slug one of you again - at least right away.

  • Honestly they could double Vigil's efficiency and it'd still be one of the perks you rarely come across because it doesn't help during a chase as exhaustion doesn't regress whilst running and your exhaustion is reset once hooked anyways.

It would be useful for people who want to 99% their sprint burst but that's about it and they'd even use a perk slot to make 99-ing more viable so why not buff it to 40% straight away? Give survivors something to work with.

1 … 59 60 61 62 63 … 75
