Yeah ? Try the new Infectious on billy mate. You ll love the sauce.

Does it work with chainsaws now, too?

I still don't get it. But I don't play LF so I really don't even know how it feels to play him anyway.

Bubba has two different cooldown animations. If you miss his cooldown consists of the animation where Bubba looks to the ground. If you hit a survivor his cooldown consists of leaning sort of sideways. This particular cooldown animation used to take 3 seconds now it got reduced to 2 seconds. As Peanits said: Just a little QOL change.

  • Are you related to Mr.Torgue by any chance?

Mr. Torgue: [whispering] "Real talk: the Gobbler fight is rigged! The Torgue Board of Directors made the Gobbler unbeatable so it'd eat all the contestants and get us a buncha hits on the ECHOnet. But I don't WANT YOU TO DIE CAUSE YOU'RE COOL, OH CRAP I'M NOT WHISPERING ANYMORE!"

    Anyways as for the perk:

I think Head On shouldn't be an exhaustion perk but a cooldown perk. It's by far weaker than any other exhaustion perk and can rarely be used. It's way to situational to be an exhaustion perk.

in HEAD ON Comment by Yamaoka
  • Wraith is definitely a good beginner killer because his power is completely forgiving and allows you to find survivors easily/quickly resulting in many chases which helps you get used to chasing efficiently.

  • Nothing wrong with that build. Flashlights got nerfed into the ground anyways, decisive is situational, adrenaline requires all gens to pop, self care is a waste of time and lithe is just a random exhaustion perk. 🤔

    in Help... Comment by Yamaoka
  • Same logic can be applied both ways in terms of perks.

Also if you escape a killer who doesn't run said perks everyone could just say "you got carried by the fact he didn't use this or that". If you can't escape because of legit in-game features (that aren't even strong) then you might wanna ask yourself if you even deserved to escape in the first place.

Last but not least: In your particular scenario (bad/useless team mates) you'll die even against a perkless killer if he knows what he's doing so if anything that particular killer gets carried by the fact your team was incompetent.

  • @Acesthetiic said:

@Yamaoka The clips you always show doesn’t prove anything. Any killer can get downs even against good players. At the end of the day though, where does he end up compared to his piers? IMO, he just isn’t that good compared to the other killers.

So my clips don't prove anything but "LeAtHeRfAcE iS wEaK" does?

Well that guy made a serious mistake running away from the pallet. Had he run through the pallet without dropping it and just kept to the loop he probably wouldn't have gone down.

Personally I think a killer can't be considered "weak" let alone "weakest" if one mistake whilst looping results in an instadown. Also he probably expected me to run instasaw addons (like most randoms) so he thought he couldn't make it to the pallet resulting in his attempt to teleport/juke out of my pov.

Anyways pretty much 80+% of all survivors go down in a few seconds regardless of map and ranks so I can't take the whole "Leatherface is weak" thing seriously. But then again I'm a true Bubba main with thousands of hours in this game so obviously I'll have a better understanding of when I can possibly chainsaw someone.

  • @PoisonHurts said:

Leather face is the new worst killer so I guess he could get a rework, not sure how they would do it though.

He's the worst killer when played by a bad player.

  • @Acesthetiic said:

@Rivyn “... can loop better than wraith” is what you said. You don’t need to take most loops as wraith. LF does on all of them. Wraith has to hope a survivor botches it? Huh? Not really. He either gets it down immediately or that AND you get a hit. You should play both to get a better understanding rather than just watching other people.

Yeah I totally get looped at every pallet and my power is definitely worthless:

  • @TheHourMan said:

Leatherface is unquestionably the weakest killer after Freddy. But if not him, then either Pig or Trapper. I think those are the only three killers in the game that are unusably weak past rank 10. Doctor is ok for antiloop if you know how to use him.

Leatherface/Bubba is unquestionably the most underrated killer in the game. He is definitely -in the right hands and with a decent build- one of the stronger mid tier killers. The thing is most people have absolutely no clue how to use his chainsaw effectively and turn into M1 killers even against average survivors. That doesn't mean he's weak. It means most people just can't play him well.

  • @LordGlint said:

@GrootDude He should slow down to 24% ms while CARRYING the saw. That saw looks heavy.

    Haha good one. 😄

  • I'll be going through each aspect of this Bubba fix individually to make it as detailed as possible:

    1) increasing his movement speed while revving the chainsaw is generally reasonable as his current chainsaw charge speed of 3.45m/s is one of the reasons people rarely manage to punish survivors with chainsaw-downs even if they successfully mindgame them in structures like jungle gyms. 86.25% combined with the fact Bubba slowly accelerates from there just doesn't cut it against skilled survivors who're quick to react.

Long story short: 3.68m/s (92%) is definitely a reasonable change in my book.

    2) I'm not too sure about this one. Removing his tantrum completely while adding the ability to go through pallets without stopping to his basekit would obviously make him EXTREMELY strong (and going through pallets like without stopping would probably feel pretty satisfying also) but at the same time it would reduce the skill-ceiling to pretty much 0.

Keeping the lowest possible distance to walls and other objects while keeping an eye on the survivor (and possibly other survivors that may be near-by) during his chainsaw attack is one of the things that requires some sort of skill and experience (particularly on maps with many objects and narrow locations). If we were to remove the tantrum everybody could just pick him up and hug walls while going through pallets without stopping. I think it wouldn't be fun to go against a 0 hour-Bubba that can't be stopped by 1 out of 2 survivor defenses (pallets, windows).

I think however his tantrum speed and duration should be altered somewhat for one simple reason, though: Map design.

Bubba gets stunned when falling through small holes and other openings since his chainsaw collision seems to be bigger than some openings/holes.

Bubba will also get stunned by invisible walls at times "while" falling down on certain maps like Ormond or Ironworks of Misery.

Sometimes they'll JUST get away after falling because his tantrum speed of 11.5% which is 0.46m/s won't allow me to hit them after falling even if I land just next to them. The tantrum speed should at least allow minor corrections so 1m/s (25%) isn't too much to ask I think.

    3) Bubba currently tops out at 126.5% (5.06m/s) so 125% would actually decrease his movement speed UNLESS you're removing acceleration. Is that what you meant?

125% "instantly" would be a major buff especially combined with the 92% ms while charging.

To give people an idea how much of a change this would be:

His chainsaw range would still be exactly 15 meters (default range) but everytime someone is downed by the 4th chainsaw hit right now they'd get hit by the 2nd chainsaw hit instead - allowing Bubba to basically use his chainsaw everytime a survivor makes a wrong read. He would be crazy strong with these changes.

    4) Not a lot to say here. If he gets faster he should obviously have to charge slightly longer. Reasonable change.

    5) I don't know if your change keeps the current acceleration mechanic so I can't say much about this one.

    ABOUT THE ADDON CHANGES:

1] Your version of Chili and Award Winning Chili would increase his potential of getting a multidown which is what makes him unique in the first place. Therefore a neat change I can agree with. Will both chili addons stack?

A combined increase of his chainsaw duration of 25% would result in a total distance of 18.75 meters if your 125% speed is calculated "without" the acceleration mechanic.

Also what would his current "knife scratches" addon do? (it increases his max range slightly at the moment due to the increased total speed)

    2] Tuning Guide: I agree.

3] Light Chassis: I like this idea. If you down someone and you can clearly tell there's nobody else around you can save some seconds after downing the survivor and the further increased ms of 95% while charging the chainsaw synergizes with the ability to cancel the rampage as it will often allow you to hit with the very first or second chainsaw hit.

  • Well... You're the Doctor so you're probably right. There's still things I'm better at than that chainsaw sprinting Hillbilly and my name itself is not an insult which is pretty neat, too.

  • In case I don't find a way out of this crazy dimension I want you guys to know Bubba loves you all ❤️

  • Finally a list I can agree with. The only killer I personally rate higher is Ghostface. Some people are crazy good at sneaking up on survivors with him . Given the fact he can expose multiple people simultaneously at close distance I'd say he's a solid B tier. Other than that good list. Why does my comment look so weird? 🤔

    Rework leatherface

Just because some people are bad at the game and (ab)use him for camping? That's no reason to rework a character.

  • @Galklife said:

its not exploit, if you want you can revert my exhaustion nerf, pick your poison

It took me 13 seconds to catch him so honestly I don't care about that exploit. Whatever makes you feel safe and motivates you to play survivor I guess. I just want quick queues back. I'm sick of waiting 5+ minutes after every game.

  • Personally I'm fine with a 2k as long as I hooked everyone UNLESS the escaping survivor/s act/s like total twats after the game. I happen to 4k pretty much every game, though (if I don't feel like letting someone go) because many survivors still haven't learned to power through ruin.

Most of the time I let 1 survivor escape via the hatch and if they just give up completely I'll even let 2 survivors go, though. I don't want to rank up too quickly anyways due to overly long queue times.

  • It's funny I recognize him (by how he censored his insults), you (killed you once @ swamp) and the 3rd person in your messenger. The XBOX community is really small.

Let me guess. His name starts with an "L" and ends with "1000".

  • Survivors could ask the same question.

I literally played only 2 survivor games the past 2 days and got facecamped in BOTH games. First game because "I cleansed his ruin" and the other game for absolutely no reason. When I escaped the 2nd game despite his silly facecamp attempt I obviously messaged him because I want those people to lose their motivation to play killer.

Both killers had noed. Big surprise, isn't it?

Those people shouldn't be playing dbd. Playing solo survivor already does suck most of the time. I don't need this kind of daily reminder how much the devs messed up survivor gameplay.

I immediately switched to killer again and won EASILY without camping, without tunneling even ignoring people that got unhooked in my face. Still gave the last survivor the hatch - because I'm better than those sweaty tryhard noed players who seem to forget there's people playing this game not bots.

  • Hopefully never. He only needs some minor buffs to his basekit and addon changes - not a full rework.

  • @se05239 said:

There's a reason why exhaustion debuff was made to not reduce when survivors were running. Exhaustion perks are insanely strong. If you want Exhaustion to come off faster, then use Vigil or something.

Vigil has been bugged for ages now. It doesn't reduce exhaustion at all. The patch notes for the upcoming patch say it's gonna be fixed, though.

As for the thread I think most exhaustion perks are "ok" at best except for balanced landing and adrenaline. All the other exhaustion perk make little difference when I want to down someone mostly because people rarely manage to get the most distance out of sb, lithe, dh or... Well... Head on (which should be a cooldown perk rather than an exhaustion perk since it's highly situational and doesn't work at times).

Therefore a 40 second exhaustion is way too much. Survivors used to be able to get rid of exhaustion while running (80 seconds) AND speed up the recovery (33%) by crouching (till patch 1.8.0).

That was when survivors were a lot stronger and maps were more survivor sided than now.

Personally I think the 33% exhaustion recovery WHILE CROUCHING should still be a thing at least. Wouldn't have much of an impact on most trials anyways.

  • I guess at least 70% of every active dbd player wants struggle to happen automatically. Sometimes I'm feeling it in my thumb, too btw. Stupid mechanic. Completely unnecessary and outdated.

  • These addon changes would allow his chainsaw to be used in many different ways.

Bubba will never have the map pressure of Hillbilly but with these addons he'd at least have the stronger instadown in my opinion.

Personally I'd have an idea, too. Make one of his addons add chainsaw swings to increase his chances of getting a multidown. You could make different builds like:

    - added chainsaw swings/duration (maybe make knife scratches and beast marks do that?) + begrimed chains (5 sec auras) = multidown build

    or

    - award winning chilli + homemade muffler = ultimate single-instadown/loop-chainsaw build as every wrong read while looping would result in a chainsaw hit

  • You think Trapper is as strong as Nurse? 🤔

  • I expect ds at all times so I slug the unhooked survivor and go for the unhooking survivor afterwards like most killers.

  • @Zertix said:

    @thesuicidefox

Can you please explain to me how dead hard, a perk that activates when you press a button and when timed accurately can grant you a second chance is not skillful?

Dead hard is arguably the most skillful perk in the game.

@Zertix I fail to see how pressing one button equals skill. I used to run dead hard till I realized any experienced killer just waits for it making it useless unless you use it to reach a pallet or window which you would have reached anyways if you had used other exhaustion perks in the first place.

Kinda overrated perk in my opinion.

  • Honestly I would probably be scared enough to be unable to move regardless of which killer it is. Just look at any killer objectively and tell me there's one that wouldn't scare you to death.

Let's go into detail in terms of your described scenario. You're out in the woods at night. It's dark and the area is widely open with loads of trees, fog and there's nothing to defend yourself. You already feel vulnerable. All of a sudden:

    - you see Hillbilly sprinting through the fog right at you fast like a car and he wants to kill you with a chainsaw which seems is a gruesome way to die. I would probably die of a heart attack before he gets me.

    - you see Trapper placing a bear trap. As soon as he notices you he starts powerwalking after you menacingly wielding his cleaver. There's tall grass everywhere and you KNOW he's been spending an unknown period of time placing said traps everywhere. You know those traps will tear your legs apart but at the same time you know so will he if he catches you.

    - you notice Wraith (cloaked) running in your direction. His ability is supernatural and thus naturally scares you as you can't tell just what this "creature" is capable of. Since he's "kind of" invisible you can barely tell where he is while running from him. Everything's dark and foggy. You try and hide in a corner (like a rank 20 survivor using urban evasion) when suddenly a bing bong sound breaks the silence and he windstorms at you swinging his spine weapon.

I reckon I'll stop here as it'd take all day to describe all the other killers and most people wouldn't read it anyways haha. Kinda wish there were more cinematics in the game.

    Can't wait for the archives!

Watched your clips, what are those ranks, 20-15? Not a single survivor in purple-red ranks will be THAT stupid like 2 Claudettes ran under chainsaw in 2 clips, they literally ran into it like beheaded chickens.

2 ppl at Lery's cornered themselves by RUNNING in dead end after fast unhook in TR leaving scratchmarks and one of them being injured moaning behind the door, really?

You can say same about any other Killer in those ranks, Doc is noobstomper, Pig and Mayers will gen grab them all day long, Freddy is literal nightmare, etc, etc.

I've played LF pretty a lot in purple ranks while was prestiging him, you can have chainsaw hits occasionally, and mostly either towards end of trial when a lot of pallets are wasted, but getting multi-downs apart from insidious basement is a such rare occasions, I can count it on one hand. Good loopers will force M1 at every pallet or drop it and move to another, just like they do to HB most of times.

While it is not that hard to time chainsaw hits through windows and around obstacles, multihit feature is almost nonexistant if not on unhook, and even then BT and sprint after hit will negate it most of times.

LF clearly needs some changes for QoL, like reducing Tantrum time to 2 seconds, reducing slowdown on revving, fixing Chili addons, probably increase chainsaw sprint MS and reduce chainsaw horizontal hitbox, so LF do not hit grass into tantrum which is at the corner of his FoV and barely visible. It is just numbers in his basekit and could be fixed in even minor midchapter patch.

Chili addons could be fixed long ago and very easily, I have no idea why devs haven't done it still.

Uncommon addon - Bubba at full sprint speed after first swing

Very Rare - Bubba does lunge speed attack during first swing (similar to Wraith post-uncloak burst) and at full sprint speed after it.

@Hagging_Trapper Some of my clips were red rank highlights. People make mistakes at all ranks. Anyways I agree on the quality of life changes and minor tweaks. I also like the idea of @NuclearBurrito

Quote: "for example would be having the saw just keep going through stuff (pallets)"

The devs could make it so the award winning chilli addon does exactly that. Right now it's totally useless so why not change it into a true purple addon that changes the outcome of a game?

  • Got any gameplay clips of yours so we can help you find possible flaws in your strategy? Perhaps it's just minor things that survivors take advantage of multiple times during your games.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/578862#Comment_578862

Every hit has a 3-second cooldown. It takes 2 hits per survivor, 4 survivors per game, so 24 seconds total. Hooking takes 1,5 seconds per survivor, 4 survivors per game, so that's 6 seconds total. 30 seconds so far, and that's just counting animations.

Since you can only chase one survivor at a time, this means you had to win four chases in 30 seconds, or one chase ever 7,5 seconds.

Since you say you won inside 60 seconds, you would not have time to use any powers that would compensate for a 110% speed. So, using a 115% killer as a basis, this means that the survivors could not be more than 12,5 meters away from you. Given that the on-hint sprint burst allows them to move 12 meters in 2 seconds, it means they just ran for exactly 2,125 seconds and then stopped dead in their tracks.

Now, I'm not saying that's impossible, but it does mean one of two things:

    • The survivors all died at their keyboards shortly after the on-hit sprint burst.
    • The survivors all gave up and disconnected simultaneously.

I suppose there's a third possibility, which is that you're making it up, but you wouldn't do that, would you?

    https://youtu.be/PDy0qCLLZyU

And the other 1 minute game:

    https://youtu.be/6-VWpwJaB0s

  • Just won a game in 1 minute (again). Survivors op pls nerf.

  • @PoisonHurts said:

I think all the perks are fine except adrenaline. I suggest keeping the same healing ability but reduce the speed to 50%/60%/70% for 5 seconds, and you stay exhausted forever once activated. I think this would be fair and allow only a small second chance that could only be used by smart players. That way it's more skill based to get use of it.

You could also make it to where it's an obsession perk and it stays honlw it is if your the obsession, and if not then you only get the speed boost and no regen.

50/60/70% ? So you want survivors to be slower than normal running speed (100%) while getting adrenaline? 🤔

  • Imagine complaining about exhaustion perks after the exhaustion nerf.

All exhaustion perks are completely fine. Some killers can even nullify exhaustion perks due to their speed and/or ability.

  • Not gonna lie - I hate rank resets. I 4k in 3 minutes, black pip at best and get little blood points. Very exciting and fun... Not. Most games feel like a waste of addons.

Can we table the discussion on whether "leatherface is good or not" -- its a different subject.

Here is one thing, at an absolute minimum that should be changed about his chainsaw specifically (what this thread was created for):

He CANT fake rev his chainsaw like Billy can! Revving the chainsaw instantly slows him down, which removes the mindgame potential to try and trick a survivor to go for another loop. There is absolutely no reason that he shouldn't have this as well. Why in God's name can an objectively stronger killer (Billy) do it, yet not Leatherface?

Another thing, the Chili add-ons NEED TO BE IMPROVED. They do practically nothing (yes, I understand what acceleration is, they are still hot garbage). They are some of the worst add-ons in the game for Killers, and thats saying something.

    tldr:

-Give Leatherface fake-rev on his chainsaw (without impact total charge time).

    -Fix his $#!T chili add-ons

Now that's a comment I can agree with. Leatherface needs some minor tweaks such as neutral movement speed while revving his chainsaw for mindgaming like Billy and a buff or rework of his (chilli) addons. Other than that he's totally fine, though. He does NOT need a full rework.

    @NuclearBurrito 3 more multi-instadowns just for you ✌️

First video starts (and ends) with something I really like about Bubba. He can zone survivors and down them immediately unless they make the right read in a split second:

    "bUt tHoSe WeRE bAd SuRvIvOrS".

... I mean, they were. Bubba is piss-easy to counter and literally doesn’t have a power against Survivors with half a brain.

Well, I guess I haven't played against a survivor with "half a brain" in the past months then as I 4k pretty much every single game unless one survivor gets the hatch. Or perhaps you're one of those rare god survivors that I have yet to see. You should upload some survivor gameplay of yours since you're obviously better than all the survivors I've faced in the past months.

  • Double-instadown without camping during a pallet loop:

    https://youtu.be/6-VWpwJaB0s

Double-instadown by zoning survivors behind the gen right at the start of a game:

    https://youtu.be/lGKxqMhnqpg

I could upload tons of multidown videos without camping - hell, I could upload a whole compilation but even then everyone would counter with "bUt tHoSe WeRE bAd SuRvIvOrS".

My videos prove his multi-instadown works as intended period. I love Bubba and if he gets reworked just for rotation players who have no idea how to play him efficiently I'll be sad for weeks.

Also I never said he was a top tier killer. He obviously is not with his average 115% mobility. But he is definitely decent - and decent is good enough for me. I don't want the devs to ruin his ability and make it an easy instadown without the ability to multi-down. That's what makes him unique afterall.

  • Everyone who struggles with Leatherface is quite simply not good at playing Leatherface. He is a decent killer and his chainsaw works as intended when used by an experienced Bubba main. I hope the devs don't touch him. They could buff or rework some of his addons but Bubba himself is great in the right hands.

  • As a Bubba main comments like these hurt my soul. Leatherface is a solid killer with a legit instadown. He only needs some addon buffs or addon reworks especially his chilli addons. His ability itself is more than just fine and people who use him to camp just need to learn how the chainsaw works.

  • Any killer that can end chases quickly/almost instantly when played optimally is viable in my book.

  • If you're chasing someone for 1.5 minutes you can't expect the other survivors to not do anything in the meantime. That's not gen rush it's you literally applying 0 pressure by chasing a single survivor far too long.

If you're chasing someone for about 1 minute flat you have to either give up and quickly stop an important gen from popping or find another survivor. Don't just chase till you catch that one survivor. This strategy will cost you the game everytime you find an optimal survivor.

1 … 60 61 62 63 64 … 75
