I understand wat u mean most people here are ignorant and highly likely survs main, but yes I hate how survs main don't understand the frustration in the fact people quit cuz they are babies and don't wanna lose and wat sucks even more is the fact that I can happen one after another hook one he quits, hook another that one quits and same with the next guy and u only get one kill cuz the other guy plays fair but yet u get entity displeased. And it sucks makes me wanna quit for good, they need to make it where when someone quits it counts as a kill as long as u hit them or hook them and they quit.

But us killer mains just gotta deal with the fact that survs ( some of them) want to win every game

Way to act overly dramatic despite the fact most decent killers 4k "nearly" every game. Even current statistics say the survival rate is "below 50%" across all ranks and platforms.

If you struggle you're bad/inexperienced. It's that simple. Also literally most people on this forum (including me) are killer mains. That doesn't mean I'll always agree with what killers want/say since I may play mostly killer but have a better understanding of the whole game than some 100 hours killer main because I've played both sides up to rank 1 a million times in the past 2 years/3000 game hours.

Right now getting a 4k is a complete joke. I can 4k as Leatherface in less than 1 minute if survivors screw up which happens pretty often as you can see on my YT channel. The only challenge is an organized 4 man SWF team which rarely ever joins my lobby.

You're most likely one of those guys who complain about 1 single 4 man escape even if you managed to 4k the other 10 games before.

Ah I see you're a literalist. You must be fun at parties. Tweak the numbers a bit, it's the same #########. By the time you find the first person and chase them for a bit, a generator will always pop and sometimes 2. I'm not sure how that's confusing.

You're not supposed to win at 5 gens. In fact you are not even supposed to get 4 kills all the time. Not sure how that's confusing.

  • @FiftyCalReaper said:

If you don't have ruin this is what will happen. You'll run around for a bit, find somebody after about 10 or 20 seconds, and after chasing them for about 15 seconds, the first generator will pop. Sometimes 2 generators. On top of that, too many loops have infinites, where the mind game is completely removed and you're forced to run the loop three times until the entity blocks the window, with the only counter being Bamboozle. Regular loops and jungle gyms are fine, but there's too many infinites. Period. I can still get 4Ks but many red rank survivors know how to abuse the infinites

3 people can finish 2 generators in 25 seconds according to your comment.

  • @Roobnus said:

First we have to make sure everyone understands what a window is; it's a hole in a wall.

Secondly, we have to make sure everyone understands what can be done with a hole in a wall: You can jump through, you can throw things through, you can even grab, hit or reach through it. You can even peak through it and look left or right to see what's going on there!

It's really crazy - try it out! I hope that helps you understand the logic behind it.

Great to see you understand what a window is. Too bad you don't seem to understand that dbd is a game which isn't even based on realism. Therefore the question isn't - is it realistic to chainsaw people through windows AFTER they've vaulted said window but is it fair and balanced. Remember we're talking about 1 out of 2 survivor defenses and an INSTADOWN.

Should an instadown have priority over 1 out of 2 defenses even though said defense was used already?

The Jane clearly moved to the left side already judging by how she got downed. Therefore my chainsaw hit wasn't fair and balanced but quite simply bull.

  • @Awakey said:

    Long guide bar.

Not necessarily. Hillbilly still has decent reach through windows without long guide bar. I was kind of surprised this chainsaw attack of mine connected as Jane was already moving to the left after vaulting the window:

    https://youtu.be/AKSk9YkiymM

  • Winning is always a matter of luck, strategy, skill and information. Just because someone plays with their friends which MAY help in terms of information and strategy (some SWF teams talk about real life stuff whilst playing) doesn't mean they're going to win. I don't dodge SWF (unless they all join with a toolbox) and play normally against them.

If I happen to get one those optimally playing SWF squads so be it! It'll be a short game either ways so who cares? Losing a game isn't the end of the world...

I just hate those who message nasty things afterwards. Won't block my messages though as I found some really nice people via post game messages over the course of the past years.

  • Tough choice. I would probably pick Windows Of Opportunity because if I play survivor it's always solo and as a solo survivor you never know what pallets are gone till it's too late.

Being able to gather information about your surroundings WHILE working on a generator or WHILE getting chased is very strong. It's probably "THE" perk for every survivor whose playstyle is based on "routing" rather than "looping".

Here's my most recent 5 gen chase against a rank 3 killer. During one moment of the chase I didn't know where to go next till Windows Of Opportunity "showed me the way".

At 4:20 you can literally see me looking for the pallet aura and since Windows of Opportunity showed me the pallet I decided to use the fire barrel to "juke my way" to said pallet.

    https://youtu.be/ltGSfc-p_ug

Long story short: It's one of those "butterfly effect" perks that do more than you probably notice.

  • Let's point out some facts:

Apparently there's new totem locations that are long and narrow allowing Trapper to place 3 traps that you HAVE to disarm in order to get to the hex totem.

The default time to disarm 1 trap is 3.5 seconds. The default time to cleanse a totem is 14 seconds.

The Trapper will get informed about the survivor after 1 disarmed trap. The remaining time to pop the totem is 21 seconds (without addons that may affect the time to disarm a trap).

The Trapper moves at 4.6m/sec which means even if he's in a radius of 96 meters he'll be able to defend the totem "without addons".

Now if the Trapper runs his oily coil addon disarming takes "tremendously" longer making it even less realistic to ever get that totem.

What if that totem is third seal? The Trapper basically has to do little to win in that case especially if he combines "oily coil" with "bloody coil" (puts survivors in the injured state AND further increases the time to disarm a trap if it stacks with oily coil) or "Iridescent Stone" (resets disarmed traps).

Slap everyone near your totem and slug those that disarmed a trap if one of your addons is bloody coil with third seal. Easy win.

What if the totem is devoured hope?

Ruin isn't too "dramatic" since you can just power through it. Sometimes you don't even get a lot of skillchecks so even if you don't hit great skillchecks the gen will get finished pretty quickly.

It's the other Hex totems that become problematic if you can't cleanse them at all.

    *HOWEVER*

The thing is this "unwinnable" situation has to meet very rare conditions to occur.

    - it has to be a map that even has these kind of totem locations

    - the killer has to be Trapper

    - Trapper has to run hex totems

    - the hex totem has to spawn at this very specific location

    - the survivors have to be uncoordinated (coordinated teams of SWF will either try to play around the hex totem OR two of them will rush gens while the other two will continuously try to get the totem forcing Trapper to defend said totem)

    - the Trapper has to run specific addons to be able to defend the totem against coordinated survivors

    - Trapper has to place all 3 traps before someone cleanses the hex totem. If someone spawns on the totem (which still happens pretty often) the whole rare situation is "disarmed" before things can escalate in the first place

    *CONCLUSION*

Due to the very rare conditions it's very unlikely that the devs are gonna change these specific totem spawns especially since they work in a very balanced way with the rest of the killers.

  • Happened to me once. All 3 survivors actively tried to bodyblock me while the killer went after no one but me. Turned out all 3 survivors were in the killer's friends list.

I reported all of them back then but still encounter them every now and then.

  • A Trapper without Ruin and without any chase perks who messed up A LOT during the first chase and picked up decisive survivors vs an organized SWF team. What could possibly go wrong? ๐Ÿค” And even then he got a kill, multi-hooked several other survivors during that game and got 30+k bloodpoints. Not sure what this is supposed to prove.

Are even organized SWF teams supposed to lose against a Trapper without Ruin? I know Otz is (usually) pretty good at the game but let's be real. He messed quite a bit during that game and still got a kill with a trash perk build.

Everyone who complains about this particular match basically says a 3 man escape should never be possible.

  • @Fictionalname said:

"Oh no, someone who brings a ultra key and waits until last second of egc to leave dies how unfair"

"survivors dying due to a gamebreaking bug is perfectly fair because the survivors didn't act what I consider nicely".

  • Tunneling is not "necessarily" effective.

Tunneling is only effective if the tunneled survivor goes down *quickly* everytime while the other 3 survivors are too slow on the gens. If it's a bunch of decent survivors you'll easily lose 3, 4 or even all 5 gens before said survivor goes down resulting in a possible 1k and an overall boring game for all clients.

I didn't get tunneled in the game below technically (since the killer hadn't hooked me before) but still: The killer wanted me so bad they thought it was a good idea to chase me for so long my random teammates were able to casually pump out all 5 gens, break hex totems and open chests (based on the loot build of one specific survivor).

    https://youtu.be/ltGSfc-p_ug

CONCLUSION: Tunneling is only effective against "average" survivors.

QUESTION: Why would you even tunnel "average" survivors when any decent killer can win against them without playing dirty?

  • @not_Queen used to powerlift I think so her weapon would be her bare hands. On top of that the entity increases her powerlifting powers allowing her to "deadlift" dropped pallets very quickly and throw them at survivors causing them to go down instantly.

Not sure about the perks yet.

Dead hard has a higher skill cap and is useful in more situations than Sprint Burst.

Also, you have to walk everywhere with SB which wastes valuable time that survivors have before they are killed.

    Dead hard all the way

Can't really agree there. Sprint Burst has just as much of a "skill ceiling" as Dead Hard as you have to learn:

    - how (and when) to use it to bait a hit without getting hit (I often do use it to bait a hit so an injured teammate can get away).

    - when and how to effectively 99 it allowing you to run everywhere.

    - where to Sprint Burst to in order to get the most out of it. I've seen many people literally run to the first pallet in sight basically wasting Sprint Burst completely even though it gives you a solid head start of 18 meters.

    - how to use it to 360 a killer and quickly finish a 99% gen (I did this many times against Hillbillies charging their chainsaw).

I used Dead Hard for like half a year myself. I know it can be used to extend loops and it does feel satisfying if it allows you to make it to that vault or pallet but overall I just think Sprint Burst is more versatile and more consistent especially since killers can't just "wait" for you to use it making it useless many times.

Here's one of my recent survivor games with Sprint Burst against new Freddy (rank 3 p3). Take a look at the end of my 4 gen chase. He was about to carry me to the basement and Sprint Burst literally allowed me to zoom all the way away to the main building eventually allowing me to escape pretty easily.

What would Dead Hard be good for in that situation? The gate was literally on the other side of the map...

I only start tunneling and camping when they are looping and gen rushing me for half of the game

Looping is literally what any decent survivor does. Maybe dbd is not for you. And that's coming from a 3000 hours killer main.

This is true. If something is a little weak, that's okay. We can always buff it up until it's in a good spot (Pop Goes The Weasel is a good example of that). If something is overpowered, then everyone gets frustrated while playing against it until it is nerfed, and then more people are frustrated that we nerfed it.

To give an example, compare the outrage from Pop Goes The Weasel to Mettle of Man.

There's also something said about making a killer that breaks the game. To use the example of a killer that can destroy walls (which was actually a prototype way back), that can be a very dangerous thing to do. It can be ridiculously powerful, but then you also run into the issue of "How do you balance it?" If the power breaks the game, you often can't balance it in a way that's fun without making it weak or frustrating to use.

That early prototype killer was called "smasher" right?

  • He's weak in the hands of a weak player.

    EDIT: @topic.

I guess everyone knows what killer I main by now *laughs in chainsaw*

As for survivor I main Claudette. I typically play without items, no adrenaline, no decisive and always solo and I never tbag. Some red rank killers still consider me toxic and literally report me for not going down easily.

  • Op: "I consider myself 'a bit toxic' and I camp/tunnel every game but why are survivors toxic and gen rush?! They're supposed to have a ######### game experience so I can have fun at their cost! REEEEE!!!"

Maybe try and play well for once? You can't camp/tunnel people and expect them to say "thank you for the fun game keep rocking!" or "you scared me at the end!" or "that was actually terrifying" or "that's the fastest we've ever died ๐Ÿ˜†" [wholesome chat with a SWF team] etc. (those are the messages I've been getting recently)

  • Who cares about flashlights in 2019? Instablinds are gone and looking against a wall or other objects is a thing and pallet blinds are useless as you can hear where they're going making the blind a waste of precious distance.

  • All survivors are just skins...

  • Even though I'm a killer main I've played a lot of survivor during the 3000 hours I've put in dbd over the course of the past years and I definitely made the experience that killers are - BY FAR - the bigger crybabies. If I play survivor (always solo) and I get tunneled/camped to death killers often send a "gg" afterwards and expect me to play along. Today I managed to loop a rank 3 killer for 4 generators AND escape.

I respectfully thanked him for the game. His reaction was "easy report".

Other killers literally told me to get out of their lobbies over the course of the past 2 years, too.

Survivors can certainly be crybabies but (bad) killers are more extreme in my opinion. There's a guy that has been trying to mori me since 2018 just because I told him his attempt to use the moonwalk exploit on me was hideous.

I'm glad to be a killer main so I don't have to wonder what person I'll go against all the time. Whiny killer mains really make the survivor experience crappy as hell (especially for solos) and are the reason why queue times take so long.

I've been waiting for survivors for like 8 minutes now. Fun times.

Sorry for not supporting your point of view, though.

  • I did admit different exhaustion perks appear to work better for different volks. Dead Hard seems to be the wall hugging pallet looper's choice whereas I consistently fare better with sprint burst as I prefer gaining maximum distance by continuously breaking line of sight.

Not trying to bait by any means.

  • @toxic_clown said:

    Uhhhh... this bait?

Way to belittle a legit discussion.

  • @HatCreature said:

Dead Hard has allowed me to loop the ######### out of Killers, hard. I loop them around a while and then get hit, now I'm looping and then Dead Hard into a pallet and stun them, now they have to chase me for a 3rd time to get me down.

In my eyes, Sprint Burst is the worst Exhaustion perk. All it does is give you a little bit of distance between you and the Killer before the chase actually starts, after that it is all you. Also it requires you to walk everywhere or use a second slot for Urban Evasion. I had a match with 3 Survivors with SB and I only noticed 1 of them had it because he was using it the smart way with waiting and then running. Another Survivor actually had Urban to go wit it but she was a stalker and could not keep her hands off me so wherever I went I saw her sneaking close by and smacked her, completely wasting her ability. Flashlights make Survivors weird.

After thinking about it thoroughly I kinda want to say all exhaustion perks benefit different types of players.

Dead Hard for wall hugging pallet loopers

    Balanced Landing for building loopers

Sprint Burst for structure routers (people who tend to skip a pallet and run away from loops unexpectedly after breaking line of sight)

Lithe for people who like ninja builds (lithe, dance with me, quick and quiet, lightweight)

    Head On for meme gods

Personally I perform best with Sprint Burst. I've just had a 4 gen chase without a break AND escaped against a rank 3 Freddy (solo). That guy lost a rank because of that game and "reported me" without naming a reason. The salt was real.

Total chase time during that game was about 5 minutes. Craziest game I've had in a long time. I would like to upload that game on YT but don't want people to see my gamertag.

  • Last time I went against a killer with corrupt intervention me and all the other survivors spawned right next to one of the blocked generators. All of us randomly started looking up while crouching till corrupt intervention ran out leaving the killer with 3 perks for the rest of the trial.

I wonder how often the killer checked all the other gens within those minutes. Poor guy.

  • @Chaddad2169 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/615747#Comment_615747

Saving your exhaustion for your Sprint Burst is a strat just as dirty as Camping and tunnelling. But it's still a strat and is used as a design purpose.

There's absolutely nothing "dirty" about 99-ing exhaustion to use sprint burst more efficiently. It doesn't stop you from playing the game as opposed to camping/tunneling off the hook which basically means "I won't allow you to play - now get out out of this match".

  • All 4 survivors alive = hatch visible after repairing all 5 gens

3 survivors dead = hatch spawns AND opens at the same time

2 survivors dead @ 2 remaining generators = hatch visible

1 survivor dead @ 1 remaining generator = hatch visible

  • Sorry mate - the record belongs to me. Downed all 4 survivors in just under 39 seconds last week.

Got multiple 1 minute trials on my YT channel as well with 4 downs each game.

  • Soooo basically you're going to keep playing as always? ๐Ÿ˜‚

Nice of you to randomly decide that. Jakes are rare, I'm not giving one up just to be nice. And thanks, glad to know I'm not allowed to play other killers or collect the unlockable cosmetics for them unless I ONLY play them.

In the past few weeks I've played almost nothing but Leatherface while I P3 him and collect faces. I've had countless 4ks without any sort of camping.

He's still a really low tier killer, and Jakes are still rare, so I have no obligation to escort one to the gate because of the survivor rule book when they spend all game hiding.

Facecamp = bad killer. Simple as that.

  • @anarchy753 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/614677#Comment_614677

What part of my comment said I didn't interact with the OTHER 3 survivors all match? I said I couldn't find JAKE.

It did sound like you weren't able to find anyone except for Jake just before the last gen popped. Anyways it's still a cheap move to facecamp because of cosmetics especially when it's a face for a killer you clearly don't even play often based on the fact you had to facecamp to get him.

  • @anarchy753 said:

I got told off for camping the other night as Leatherface.

Literally only found Jake when the last gen was about to pop, and was only playing Leatherface to sacrifice Jake for his face, so I just revved that chainsaw for 2 mins straight. But no, no excuses, trash killer for not letting him get unhooked with the gates open.

    - is unable to find survivors all game

    - doesn't pressure gens

    - downs one single survivor

    - facecamps 2 minutes straight

    - blames survivors for hiding

Would you say you played well?

  • Survivors gen rush because killers kill rush - killers kill rush because survivors gen rush.

  • Bond is a pretty good perk that provides lots of information but personally I got sick of using it because I'd often see teammates randomly crawling around doing nothing while I was getting chased or afk teammates so whenever I play survivor I rather use perks that help me in a chase now.

  • @DaS_only said:

It does. U just don't get it.

Also I escape very often while playing solo. In swf groups I win 99% of the time. I play both sides btw.

Whatever you say. I've been playing this game for years now. Played both sides evenly at some point. Been rank 1 a million times as survivor AND killer. I witnessed every big change. Therefore my opinion is just as valid as your opinion. In my opinion every killer who still struggles is quite simply bad at the game. Survivors got nerfed into the ground.

Ofc you are, that's why I said u suck at survivor and therfore can't see how ez pz it is

Yeah that doesn't make any sense. I'm a killer main and I have been 4k-ing like... Every single time for months now. I even posted multiple 1 minute games on this forum. Therefore your conclusion that survivor gameplay is "ez pz" makes no sense.

  • @DaS_only said:

Imagine u put myers and clown addons into the image. U suck at playing survivor I can smell that from here.

I'm a killer main so what's your point? Besides it's a copied meme picture which you'd know if you weren't new.

  • Where's Leatherface? I only see Laurie Strode and a big ass Claudette ๐Ÿค”

  • Playing killer is only stressful if you're bad at the game. The devs have been baby-ing killers to the point where survivors need to play well in order to NOT go down within the first minute of the game. I literally downed all 4 survivors in 38 seconds the other day. One of the survivors has almost 3000 hours in the game. Balanced - as all things should be.

    gjs64vnpztb21.jpg

  • I think all animations suppress his grab-mori, too. So just vault a pallet or window if there's no locker. It will result in a down rather than an instakill.

Thank you thank you thank you!! I'd much rather read something like this than watch a 15 minute video with information I can't use.

Im strictly survivor (until i can get spirit, that is) and I really want to get better...

I just wish it wasn't so easy to rank since i'm rank 9/8 and I really don't feel like im good enough to be playing with people of the same rank as me.. I just play a lot.

You're welcome. I'm always glad to help. The ranking system is kind of messed up. I totally agree there. Personally I got almost 3000 hours in the game and I spent most of these hours playing Leatherface so if there's even the slightest opportunity to use the chainsaw I WILL use it.

Wanna guess what rank I am since the latest rank reset? 7 - because I haven't been playing a lot lately so I'm sitting at purple ranks right now.

Therefore you could end up in my lobby which isn't exactly fair objectively. Match making should be based on game hours not ranks.

Anyways Spirit is a good choice. If you master her you'll dominate almost every game. She's a total beast to say the least.

I'm really not appreciating all the rudeness in this topic.. I got the game a week ago so I don't know a lot of the go-to strategies yet. All I know is I have been downed from this problem countless times even if i'm trying to loop. He just follows me around the corners and there's nothing I can do.

You said it yourself: You got the game 1 week ago. Therefore you know little to nothing about the game and its mechanics allowing ANY "somewhat" experienced killer to dominate you easily. Let me explain what a strong killer defines. Strong killer attributes:

    - can find people easily

    - can end chases quickly CONSISTENTLY

    - can control generators efficiently

    - can move from point A to point B in a few seconds allowing said killer to spontaneously check hooked survivors while patrolling generators or the gates IF the survivors manage to repair all 5 generators.

    Leatherface has:

    - no tracking

    - no map pressure since he always moves at standard movement speed

    - can't protect generators or gates due to the standard movement speed

The only thing he has going for him is his ability to instadown survivors that don't manage to vault windows or drop pallets in time. That's why he's considered weak by most of the community. If someone loops EFFICIENTLY most Leatherfaces will never use their chainsaw turning him into a killer with NO ABILITY.

Strong / top tier killers are:

    - Nurse

    - Spirit

    - Hillbilly

    - Hag

All of these killers can generate loads of map pressure, down survivors quickly even if they try to loop AND protect generators/gates. The complete package. See the difference?

Well... Maybe Bubba is useless if you play him (no offence intended). ๐Ÿค” In my hands he's one of the stronger mid tier killers capable of chainsaw-ing people who try and pallet loop.
