This rework would solve everything about NOED, it will make perk viable for both groups of survivors. No One Escapes Death:

Progress infuriates you beyond belief which causes you to release your true potential. Whenever a generator is completed, you'll receive a 5%/10%/15% haste effect and a 20% attack cool down decrease until you perform a successful offensive action. Haste effects and attack cool downs do not stack if multiple generators are completed.

So... instead of a great end game perk that can turn the tide of a match entirely, it's reworked into a poor man's STBFL.. where the killer gets a haste effect and an attack cool down decrease... until you hit someone?

Why would any killer run this? Personally I'd rather run Tinkerer and see when a gen is about to pop and get a silent terror radius. This rework is doodoo. When you said "viable for both groups" I think you forgot to add that it's viable for survivors because it would effectively remove NOED from the game.

Here, let me rework Decisive Strike:

Decisive Strike - You're ashamed that you got downed. When the killer picks you up, hit any button on the controller to immediately disconnect from the match. All normal disconnect penalties apply.

Yo breh that's totally viable for both groups.

I wouldn't be bothered if DS is completely removed from the game, I don't use it, period. Same for NOED, I don't need it because I rarely see all 5 generators getting completed.

About the rework, that's actually good because you're guaranteeing yourself a free hit. Now, stack this with STBL and you're talking about some good stuff if you ask me. Never judge a book by its cover, this is actually really strong in my opinion.
Good thing you don’t design this video game, that’s all I’ll say.
  • In the probably fifteen hundred hours minimum I've put into the game on Xbox and as someone who hits rank one on both sides routinely, the main difference I have found is your typical survivor is infinitely more likely to be a salty or cocky little douche after a match.

The amount of times I've been messaged as a killer from someone either butt hurt that they lost, or being a toxic little **** about escaping, is countless. At the same time, I rarely, rarely ever get a message from a killer about anything negative, or any kind of gloating. 99% of the time it's just a "gg", and the rest of the time it's a killer who has "beef" with me.

And that's just after the game. In game, yikes. Pointing after vaults. Teabagging at pallets. Teabagging at exits. What's the killer alternative here... shaking their head at the hook? Again, very rare.

That's right, the perk is strong against solo survivors and weak against SWF. The perk needs to be strong for both survivor groups, namely, solo survivors and SWF. You see my argument?

I understand the argument you are making but I disagree with it entirely. NOED works quite well versus SWF. Nothing is 100% but without it you have no threat at all end game versus a coordinated team. At this junction, solo survivor is screwed. There is no perk design that can be created that will be strong enough for a group yet harmless versus a solo survivor. Instead of tippy toeing around that issue the community needs to come to grips with how broken SWF is. But since people are not brokers of truth or fair play and do not care SWF remains and so does the perk strength.

Exactly it’s like people don’t understand how balance works. How exactly do you balance a perk to be viable versus SWF endgame yet still make it not OP against single players? You can’t, because that doesn’t make any sense. SWF is too strong in this game.
  • NOED is an end game perk that is easily taken care of simply by doing totems. In exchange for this POTENTIAL end game power, the killer plays the match with only three perks.

And if were talking about the meta of the game, the killer will also be running Ruin to combat the gen rush and it will be destroyed 45 seconds into the game which means the killer plays with two perks against a SWF team that uses 16 perks.

Bottom line is there’s lots broken in this game. Unless they’re ready to simultaneously alter a bunch of other #########, don’t touch NOED.

I mean killers have it so easy already, sure why not make it harder for the killer to actually kill.

Lets also add a third hit required to down someone and bring back instant BNP.

why dont you actually read everything rather than assuming i'm saying nerf killers. I play killer ffs. Honestly i'm suggesting buff killers in every way EXCEPT one very specific 'play style' that requires no skill and is actually a detriment to the killers progress anyway

The only real buff you described is a speed buff, which is not really relevant or adequate in exchange for a dying timer penalty.

You said yourself sometimes a killer does it purely out of “salt”. These people aren’t going to care about how “detrimental” it is to their progress, or blood points.

A majority of killers do it out of ease or lack of knowledge of the game. Gen rush them and make them depip with little blood points. That’s the only way to fix a majority of hard campers.

Otherwise youre introducing a pretty radical change to the game for a very small minority of situations. Furthermore as your own post said, there are plenty of times when camping is legit and warranted. Will the game somehow know these parameters exist, or are all killers punished because some play “dirty”?

tl;dr - instead of dramatically changing the meta of the game because of a select few, alter the mindset of the majority by gen rushing.
  • I mean killers have it so easy already, sure why not make it harder for the killer to actually kill.

Lets also add a third hit required to down someone and bring back instant BNP.
  • I run NOED on almost all killers, even ones with instant down attacks like LF and Myers. Why? Just for end game shenanigans. I rarely even have to use it because most games are either 4k or hatch escape. But it’s nice to know that it’s possibly there.

Theres a real simple way to avoid it. Cleanse the damn totems. I’m almost to the point of putting Detectives Hunch back on because my
random teammates refuse to do totems. Can’t count the amount of times recently that I’ve literally cleansed four totems and the killer has NOED because no one else could do one totem. At that point why would I blame the killer, it’s the survivors fault.
  • I DC’d on Xbox yesterday against a Huntress running almost that exact same build as you and with those same add ons. I solo queue, not wasting time with that nonsense. Im
    glad they disconnected on you.

Sometimes I think this game would benefit greatly from a point system like Calls of Doody where every single perk and offering are assigned points and you can’t equip more than a certain amount. So say it’s 10 points, a perk like DS could count 5. Adrenaline, 3. So then you’d have 2 points left, there could be 1 point perks, but then each item you bring in also has a point cost. Like a common medkit is one point. Add an instant heal, it becomes three. Flashlights, two points.

And same for killers. So you wouldn’t be able to run an amazing Huntress perk like BBQ while you also have one shot hatchets and a ######### ebony mori on top of it.
  • Call of Duty used to prevent you from joining modes like Search and Destroy if you were in a party but I think they stopped.

I dont think this this would be possible on PC. Could be wrong though.
  • Luckily on Xbox you can just click a persons profile and see their friends, and see if their SWF anyway.

I wouldnt dodge SWF, but it certainly makes yunalter your play style and loadout, so it certainly sucks for killers that they’re doing this. But at least killers finally get their load outs hidden from dead survivors.

In red ranks on Xbox you can tell who most SWF teams are anyway when they load in.
  • Damn I thought this would be about built in Insidious.

By the way, if you have Insidious and it’s active, does Borrowed Time activate? Asking for a scumbag camper friend.
  • No chance to be balanced when there’s SWF.

I had a match just now, caught one dude in my Ruin totem, he lead me away, sure enough 20 seconds later, destroyed. No perks or ability can overcome that level of communication SWF have.
  • Calm down and buy some cosmetics, breh.

I don’t get why people say both perks reward “bad” gameplay. It’s not easy to go an entire match without being seen, and once you’re seen by a killer, unless they’re doodoo, they’re going to catch you. The only question is how long before they catch you. And this can come down to RNG. If you don’t have any pallets or vaults at your disposal, it’s hard to lose a killer or extend a chase. So going down is not always “bad gameplay”.

The problem with dstrike, is again, depending on RNG, it can completely change a match and the killer has zero counter to it, aside from simply slugging the obsession, which is not optimal. Plenty of maps give the survivors enough safe pallets and junctions to loop a killer for an easy 2 gens, sometimes more. So you can finally get this survivor down after a 2-3 gen chase and you can either try to hook that survivor to actually be rewarded for that extremely long chase, or you can just slug them and get nothing. Of course, trying to hook them opens you up to dstrike, which just extends a chase that already took way too long. Add even more time if they’re running an exhaustion perk as well, which many dstrike users do. It’s a broken perk because as the game is currently designed it gives one side way too large of an advantage. But it doesn’t just reward “bad play”. It’s used by tons of great survivors to run killers for most of the match. That’s broken gameplay, but not “bad”.

NOED also doesn’t reward killers for bad play. End game builds do exist. You can run a terrific end game perk that requires all of the gens to be done and still be a good killer. You’re simply preying on the survivors mentality of rushing the gens. Furthermore, you’re sacrificing a perk slot for the chance at that perk activating. A lot of people complain that NOED rewards killers who couldn’t stop the gens from being done... well maybe if they took NOED out and put on BS or Enduring or Pop or something else they’d have stopped the gens?

But the counter to NOED is so mind numbingly simple... cleanse totems brehs.

PGTW slows down the game, brutal strength and enduring does nothing to slow down the game. I'm trying to suggest reworks for these perks that will make them less hated. I don't care about their counters. I just want a way to balance them so they're not overpowered.

BS and Enduring allow you to end chases faster, putting you back on gen patrol, which can slow the game down.

  • SWF is extremely OP, breaks the game in countless ways.

    Solo survivors though, no.
  • Even better design, imagine you’re trying to break from the norm of the game and run a sneaky Devour build or a fun end game build. Ooops, killer, you ######### up. You killed someone. Now the entire enemy team knows your perks. Bye Devour. Bye NOED. Bye Blood Warden.

If the devs gave a ######### about nerfing Dstrike, it would have been nerfed long ago. If they cared about balanced gameplay they’d have never introduced it in the first place.

Personally if that survivor was nowhere near the hatch, I’d have probably just eaten the DS and tried to down her again. But when you get hit with the toxic survivors it makes you do things you wouldn’t normally do. Sometimes you have to camp or BM some manners into these plebs.
  • Nice, can’t wait to be banned because salty survivors make ######### up or complain that being killed in the game is “harassment”.

9 times out of 10 the totem will spawn on the survivor side, right near the first gen they work on.

Its even funnier with NOED. The amount of times the game has picked a totem right next to where the last gen was done is ridiculous, even when multiple totems are still standing.

I dont blame the survivors but I do think the spawn points are rigged.
lol 90% of the time for me NOED spawns right near a gate, somewhere obvious where they won’t miss it on their way to power the gate.

If someone breaks my totem at the start of the match before I can even make my way over to it, they’re getting hooked and hard patrolled.

If I know you‘re SWF and I chase some off my totem and then immediately after while I’m still chasing, a SWF buddy breaks it, they’re getting hard patrolled.

If you break my totem in front of me, it’s probably a face camp depending on how the match is going. If there are 4-5 gens left and I can spare some time, it’s the face camp.

LMFAO By this logic, if you are a Doctor or Wraith I'm going out of my way to troll you and take your game hostage. God forbid someone just plays the game right?

The Dead Sea called. They want their salt back.

The only one remotely “salty” is the first one. The other two are just karma. Hope that helps.

  • I trust that when I go to the bathroom later to poop, I will actually poop out 2.1 million dollars in twenties instead of poop.

    Both are equally likely.
  • Damn I forgot I can’t go lower than 15.

Still, even just at 15, getting games way way faster.
  • 15 quits or so and I’m at rank 12. Not going to take near as long as I thought.
  • My issues with Legion when playing survivor are these:

    1. Idiot teammates who bring them to you, then they get hit in Frenzy and now Legion knows your location.

    2. Legion is “chasing” you but is not really in a chase with you. So your mend bar is dropping, but you can’t stop and mend because he’s actually chasing you. This always happens to me when there is nothing around to use to try and lose Legion, not that it matters anyway because once you lose them you drop down from not mending and they know your location.

As killer, my only issue is same as Fred... you’re just helpless in a lot of situations. But it’s a fun killer to play, unlike Fred.
  • Yeah I’m going to load up into a lot of games today on Xbox and quit out to get my rank down so I can actually play during this event. Get to 20 and then slaughter my way back.
  • lol what an f’ing dumb achievement on an already weak killer.
  • Wow so much stupid in that original post.
  • Wait what? I thought this patch was supposed to improve FPS? lol

ive only been able to get into maybe 3 killer games since the patch so I haven’t had a chance to try it really.
  • I got it first try at rank 1. One of the survivors played a Game offering, which helped since its so small. They got two gens done.

Legion will be like Freddy, much stronger against solo players but incredibly weak against SWF. But unlike Fred, Legion is actually fun to use.
  • Doesn’t really confirm other platforms won’t get it before or after.
  • Does nothing on PS4.

On Xbox you can report to MS but at best you’ll affect that players reputation setting, which does nothing in DbD.
  • I have two, pretty recent. There have been plenty of satisfying wins, but these are the freshest in my mind.

First one is Springwood, I am Hag. Playing a three stack and a random. Two of the three stack are toxic as hell, constantly pointing, tbagging, etc. Their friend dies during the match, and I hook the random as they pop the last gen. The other two in the three stack instead of leaving, tbag at the gates, throw down pallets, point. As I toy with one and move around at the exit gate, the other tries to sneak off for the unhook. She pops a trap and gets hit. But she's too far from the gate to make it out. Her friend tries to body block but I go around her and down the Laurie before chasing her friend out. It's always a great feeling to turn the tables on teabagging toxic douches.

Which leads to the second one. It was on Haddonfield and IIRC I was Leatherface. I'd chased the dstrike obsession around for awhile and she was toxic, teabagging etc. Just like the other game, I down someone right as they pop the last gen and I already had one dead. So David is hooked. I go to an exit gate and return to see Feng unhooking him. I give Dave a whack, sending him into borrowed time. I assumed that by now they'd have opened the closest door and that I wouldn't catch him, so I went for Feng. Surprise NOED FTW. She goes down. I hook her on the same hook Dave was on and thanks to BBQ, I see Dave running away from the door and then he falls as his BT expires. I go to walk all the way to him to hook him, but I had a feeling I should return to hook. I see Meg, dstrike teabagging dbag herself, going for the unhook. This hook is one of the ones right by the sidewalk on Haddonfield, and when a survivor is hooked on it, you can't run past it, you have to run around. Meg doesn't realize this. She sees me coming and instead of going for the unhook, tries to run past Feng and off to a door ahead of her. She realizes she can't make it past and tries to vault a fence but slow vaults. I down her in the grass thanks to NOED and as I pick her up she rage quits. I'm fully erect and the bitter salty tears of rage quitting Meagan give me the energy to go all the way across the map to where David is and I hook him until he dies from it.

  • I think it’s beyond repair. lol I just had a rank 1 game on Xbox, for fun I use Freddy with no ruin and no end game perks at all, I try for a slow heal/action build. I get a ######### corn map and my obsession has the full slate of meta perks and perfectly placed pallets so that three gens are done before I even down him. Dstrike of course, and after I hook him the last gen pops. Immediately unhooked and it’s adrenaline time. I got a couple more hooks on the others and I get flooded with messages from this clown gloating that he was able to run from pallet to pallet against Freddy.

So now when I play him again he’s going to get the good face camp. It’s like the old Elvis song In the Ghetto but instead of minorities struggling to live in racial oppression it’s just dickhead survivors being toxic over and over.
  • Yeah, no thanks. How about slowing down the gen rush and nerfing SWF then we can try to bring solo closer to SWF.
  • Nah, camping works great against most SWF because they play overly altruistic trying to save their friends. SWF groups like the depip squad are far from the norm. Most people are playing for fun and to maximize blood points.

The only time where camping a solo player is a better option is if you find a solo player on your hex totem early. If that’s a SWF player then the rest of their squad already knows the location.

I meant a date for the DLC to drop.
  • Wow pretty big nerf to Doc there imho with Snap Out of It.

  • I’m waiting for them to add a perk that makes the entity progress bar move significantly slower while the killer is within a certain range. Seems like an easy fix for camping that would require a perk slot from survivors, which means one less clutch meta perk to annoy killers. Win/win.

Why are you being toxic again?

If killers force a guy to get no points and depip due to camping then we're going to do our best to avenge the guy. It's the honorable thing.

Don't like it? Then either don't camp or don't complain about it.

Walking to the exit gates and forcing the survivors out is soooo hard lmao

Why are you being toxic all the time? Stop holding games hostage.

I can take the hatch without killer knowing - or I give the killer a chance to win s hatch standoff. Seems I'm actually doing them a favour.
Oh you mean that hatch standoff that you literally said in this thread is so easy for survivors to win that you can browse the Internet and just wait for the audio cue? How generous of you.

If you see the hatch open, then take it. Anything more is being toxic.

I play on consoles (Xbox mostly) with a little bit of PC time.

This sums up your whole argument and explains everything as to why you posted this.

Im sorry but ive played on consoles for like 18years (probably 20) and I can assure you there's a huge skill cap increase when someone plays a game on PC vs playing on console.

Like playing on console sort of restrains you in a sense but playing on PC allows to get a a huge overall boost in experience and skill cap .

This is just a fact, I honestly feel like console killers/survivors play differently but definitely not as well as PC players.

Ive seen this same shift when I played games like L4D,  L4D2,  Team Fortress, gears of war, etc
lol the part you quoted literally says I play on PC too, just not as much as console. I haven’t seen any huge difference in skill. Certain killers are even way easier on PC. Huntress and Nurse for example. Killer in general is a lot better on PC because you don’t have the frame rate issues you have on console.

Theres no large difference in survivor play style either when you’re talkig about the good players.

Not every killer needs to be at Nurse's power, but every killer should be viable.

Every killer is viable. You can win with any killer. The matches against elite talented survivors are not super common. As easy as it is to rank up, bums are filling the red ranks.

Tournament and competitive play will always be loaded with the most broken elements of any game. Personally I welcome another unique killer that requires a challenge over someone like Billy that can easily dominate a match with very little skill required.

You can win with every killer if the survivors let you. I've seen Freddys win games. That doesn't mean he's strong. It just means the survivors aren't that great. Killers should be able to make more of their own plays, not rely on the skill level of survivors.

And most of the survivors who play this game aren’t great. Balancing around the most sweatiest of the playerbase is a nice way to make the game not enjoyable for most of the players.

Killers can make plenty of their own plays. Jeebus, it’s adorable how far this “woe is me I’m a helpless killer!” is pushed.
