Man I’m so out of the loop on this. And there are so many threads. Can someone explain what the outcry is about?
As as far as I understand, there are numerous outfits coming for the event for various killers and survivors. But you only earn enough nectar or whatever to buy one set? Am I having this right?
If so that’s pretty lame to cap it. So my son loves Overwatch, when they do an event he begs me for lootboxes. I might buy him 5, but I’ll tell him to just play the game for lootboxes and try to get the event skins he wants. So this will not even be possible during the event because there’s a cap? And then after the event I’m sure they’ll be available in the store, but at the laughably ludicrous prices the rest of the cosmetics are at most likely.
But again maybe I have it wrong. But if that’s right these guys are out of their minds. The game still runs like poop on my X and yet I’m supposed to shell out $10 for skins like this is a F2P game or something LOL -
Omg I work with a Chester and he ****ing HATES being called Chester the Molester LOLChesterTheMolester said:Its a fun gamble. I love this build.
Nothing feels better than surviving with purple item with 2 good addons. -
Its a strong perk. A lot of the more toxic survivors will run it.

Reporting to BHVR on consoles is pointless.
You can report to MS, but all that will happen is if enough people report this person, their reputation will go from good to “Needs Work”. And then further reports move it from “Needs Work” to “Avoid Me”.
Being in the Avoid Me class used to **** you over in some games because it would kill your ability to matchmake. In others, it would only matchmake you with other “Avoid Me” players. But Microsoft abandoned this flawed system early this year because there were too many fake reports from salty Overwatch players. If you play killer you’ll get them too from sore loser survivors. -
I guess you don’t play on console. The game runs like poop for killers on console. Yes, it’s bad enough that it can ruin your game experience.George_Soros said:@Well_Placed_HexTotem you speak though as there were countless serious problems with the game. There are not. A number of annoying nuisances, yes, balance issues, sure, but other than DC-s going unpunished in large numbers, there's nothing else that actually ruins game experience.
I'd love dedicated servers too, but they are not going to happen. In ten years, when the community will be 5% of what's today, remaining players will be grateful for that, since then there probably won't be dedicated servers anyway for this old game.
-
Good luck finding many people here willing to hold BHVR responsible for their crap. Most are more than happy to make excuse aftet
excuse. I mean, F13 was made by a team of less than 100 people and is now being handled by a team of less than 10 and even it was able to implement dedicated servers and do a better job with updates and listening to the fan base.
BHVR on the other hand numbers almost 400 employees according to various websites and they make many games but they’d rather focus on ways to monetize the game rather than fix it. Sadly that’s not going to change, why would it? I bet they make tons on cosmetics if what I see in my lobbies are any indication.
And yes I’m well aware there are different teams handling different things and artist person designing cosmetics doesn’t have anything to do with Netcode Guy or Mrs Optimization working on actually fixing the game but that’s why budgets exist and planning exists. Work less on cosmetics and put more people on fixing core game problems = duh. -
I have like 1500 hours on Xbone, mostly killer. All killers P3, and I’m almost to the point of quitting killer. It’s just boring. You see a survivor, they sprint burst away. You catch up, they run to whatever the best loop is on a map and the game begins. On Xbox, even the X, the game runs like trash on most maps for killer, so you’re going to be battling loops and the game itself. Countless times you’ll outplay a survivor and go for a hit and the game will freeze for second and the survivor runs off scott free.
But mostly thanks to the design of the game, if you get into the high ranks then your options in your builds get smaller and smaller. You don’t have the freedom to explore different builds and try something fun because the second you do you’re gonna get gen rushed to hell and back, teabagged and messages about how ez you are.
Survivor is the complete opposite. There are
so many different play styles and you can “win” with all of them. I’m currently running a build with dead hard, Deliverance, botany, and resilience. I equip good medkits and good add-ons. I try to heal while being chased. It’s fun. And I can heal to 99% and use resilience basically the whole game. I don’t get this option at high rank killer because unless you want to get curb stomped or play only the most overpowered killers, the games are over too quickly without the best killer perks. -
Why wait? Camp now. I’ve gotten two death threats this week by camping dstrike scrubs.
-
That used to be a big issue but thanks to Overwatch, they fixed it. You used to be able to report someone you were in a game with and if enough did it, your rep would go to “Avoid Me” and it would affect your matchmaking in other games. GTA for example would only let you play with people who also had Avoid Me rep. So a bunch of salty survivors could report you for any reason and you’d be screwed in other games (but not DbD funny enough). My rep took a nosedive the day I bought DbD and I couldn’t even play some games because it wouldn’t match me with anyone.Boss said:Isn't Xbox also still plagued by the issue of: If you get reported a lot, no matter if they're legit reports or not, you get suspended.
So now they still take those reports and they still affect your rep, but the rep doesn’t affect matchmaking now.
But yeah people are incredibly salty. Just a couple days ago someone on Xbox got mad that I patrolled his hook to close and he got farmed and he informed me that he’s a military veteran with two tours under his belt and has killed people and that he was going to find me and add me to his list LOL.
What streamer was salty with you? They all get super salty and accuse you of sniping their stream, it’s adorable. -
So stupid that they’re adding cosmetics and events and there will be a new killer/survivor before this stability update to make the game playable eventually maybe comes out lolonly1biggs said:Queen mentioned on the last stream that they have a big optimization dump coming in a few months. With the next coupe of updates they will add a few things in preparation for it specifically for console.
-
The hardware isn’t junk though. Even the base launch Xbox One has a much better GPU and CPU than the minimum requirements for DbD on PC. The problem isn’t hardware, it’s the developers. A game like Horizon 4 can run at native 4k or at 60fps at 1080p yet this much smaller scale much worse looking game runs infinitely worse.lyric said:
It’s because we aren’t on pc and the hardware is junk on console, they’re planning on improving this soon thank godWell_Placed_HexTotem said:Events and DLC and balance patches are nice, but when are some of the very core issues with the game on console going to be fixed? I own the game on PC too, it runs great. Yet even on the most powerful console ever, if I try to play killer, good luck.
It ruins the game against good survivors who already know how to extend a chase. Multiple times over the last week I’ve been chasing one of these survivors and during the chase have had chances to hit them only to get a massive, game freezing frame drop that allows them to escape to the safety of the next pallet or vault.
I was on Haddonfield last night chasing a Meg. I was Billy, I had no add ons equipped besides cooldown, somthere was very little chance for me to use my chainsaw. So I chase this Meg from pallet to pallet, vault to vault, ok that’s fine that’s the meta of the game. I mind game her into jumping a pallet back to me. I swing. Game freezes. By the time I can control Billy again the Meg is running off to a new loop. Two gens pop. Cool. So instead of the chase being half done, it’s as if it just started.
She loops me around a couole pallets that I break, I am running Fury and Enduring. She throws a pallet on me. It breaks instantly and she realizes she done f’d up. I corner her by some bushes behind a house and swing.... massive frame drop and game freezes. Two more gens pop. To be honest, that was the closest I’ve ever come to throwing my controller while playing a video game ever in over 30 years of gaming.
Finally i catch her twice and down her. I hook her. I turn to find others and the last gen pops. Both gates are near me so I decide that **** it, I’m getting a kill. So I close patrol that hook.
Feng runs in for the unhook. I come around a tree fully revved, **** yes either Feng is going down or Meg is getting tunneled. Massive frame drop, game freezes. When it becomes playable again I realize I had chainsawed right into the tree to my right. Darn. How embarassing.
I get the Feng down. Meg feels bad and goes for the save and I grab her and hook her. So in the end I got two kills.
But there are plenty of games where you get none, because of massive frame drops and lag that occurs EVERY SINGLE MATCH. When is this finally going to be fixed? Why years after release are we not able to use certain killers or play certain maps with confidence without worrying about performance of the game?
BHVR is not a small team with little resources. People don’t realize they’re a massive developer with many teams and loads of resources. This crap is unacceptable. I’m not spending another dime on DLC or cosmetics until the game becomes playable.
Blaming consoles takes the blame off of the developers and gives them an excuse for their crappy development.
And “soon” should replace “death is not an escape” as the official tag line for this game. -
The logic would be the same if survivors and killers were perfectly balanced in the game, but they aren’t.powerbats said:@Well_Placed_HexTotem said:
Butt hurt survivors whine about it out of frustration. They’ll tell you that it’s a crutch because you didn’t stop the gens, but you’re only working with three perks at most until the end game if you are running NOED. I run it on almost all my killers, I can do extended chases without worrying about the gen rush because I’ll likely have NOED after the gens are done.It can instantly turn a 1 kill game into a 3-4 kill match. You’d be surprised how many toxic survivors you can catch with it too when they’re teabagging or other nonsense near the gate.
So by that logic butthurt killers whine about DS out of frustration. They'll tell you that it's a crutch because you got caught. It's your own fault you didn't loop the killer endlessly, that the killer tunneled you until they finally caught you.
You're only running 3 perks until the end of the game with one that can only be used if you're caught, otherwise it's a wasted perk slot. If I'm running DS I'm having to hope I get to use it and not be dribbled non stop.
If I don't get to use it due to dribbling then it turns a possible escape into a sure hook where a different perk would've been much more useful.
Now see how asinine your response was when I use the very same logic you just did?
It doesn’t matter what perk you want to complain about there can always be someone trying to throw up another perk. -

lol Wraith would be stupid OP with that.

It doesn’t work for me half the time regardless of how many survivors are left.

I got an error the first time I tried to log on but have played two games since.
Do we have real confirmation this was supposed to fix frame rate? I’m gonna try Doctor. -
Frame issues are still there on Xbox.

The only thing the patch notes say on Xbox is that it fixed a clipping issue with a Clown cosmetic.

DS is getting nerfed? How? When? Seems this talk has been going on for like a year lol.

You’re admitting you’re part of the problem. There’s a difference between being altruistic and making dumb saves. If you know your killer is camping, rush the gens. You literally give the killer exactly what they want by making hook saves and getting downed. Even if your teammates aren’t doing gens, get two done and take the hatch.total_disrespec said:Legit since I've played on playstation this is ALL I get. EVERY SINGLE MATCH. Camper after camper and me being the altruistic person I am ill save the person being tunneled/ camped but will never get saved myself, but that's besides the point. Legit the "drawback" for camping is supposed to be that they're wasting precious time but that doesn't mean anything when most of the teammates are afraid of doing gens! There should be a REAL self-inflicted drawback to camping like other survivors get token based haste depending how long you hang around hooked survivors while not in a chase. Or it takes longer as you're standing around the sacrifice. Likewise, background survivor's that haven't had a "points event" or who hide the whole time could find some penalty. ike legit I'm just about done with this game cuz it's not fun. It's bad enough the og killers aren't gonna be free anymore. I've already spent enough on cosmetics but if this doesn't change that'll be it.
Also what’s that about old killers not being free? -
Since when does Coulrophobia work on Snap Out of It?Judgement said:Doctor with Calm and Order.
Take Distressing, Unnerving Presence, Coulrophobia, and Huntress’ Lullaby.
Having a massive terror radius makes Unnerving Presence and Coulrophobia hit at a massive range.
Unnerving will reduce skill check zones for Snap Out Of It; Coulrophobia slows down Snap Out Of It because it counts as a healing action. Makes it insanely hard to get out of Madness 3, and difficult to do generators.
You could switch out the add-ons for Iridescent King and High-Stimulus Electrode for massive Shock Therapy range while applying all Madness effects instead.
Or put on the Obedience add-on with anything else to make it take even longer to Snap Out Of It and keep them Exhausted.
Also mine is putting NOED on any killer with a one hit down attack. Gets survivors all salty. -
I for one can’t wait for the day when devs balance a game based on what one of it’s very best players can do as opposed to, you know, a vast majority of its player base.
-
There are four survivors.
There is one killer.
Perks for killers should not have equivalent versions for survivors. How does balance work? -
Prestiging a character should unlock more perk choices in higher level bloodwebs. Something to make it worthwhile.

BHVR is a huge company that has their hands in tons of games. They’re fine.
-
What for fixed with Bozo? Was it the speed reloading thing? I hope so, I played my
first Clown using that last night and it was pointless to even try, he was just too fast.
Im on console though so who knows when we’d get this fix. -
Yes it’s on all my killers.
Though I have been thinking about replacing with Pop. -
None? Sure some suck but even the corn field maps I’ll at least try.
-
The game needs smarter/better survivors, that’s the only way hard camping will be dealt with.
But too often a killer hard camping gets precisely what he wants, one or two survivors just sitting by the hook waiting for the killer to leave, or overly altruistic survivors turning one hook into two or three. Or a hooked survivor quickly trying to 4% and then killing themselves.
If you see someone “face camping” just do a damn gen. These killers who do this are
mostly not any good and are bitter about it, so they literally feed on the salt you send them. Instead, gen rush the hell out of them and make them end the game with only one kill.
I was on The Game yesterday and a Leatherface finally caught me and downed me after my teammates had done almost two gens. He hooks me and sits right beside me with Insidious, but he has his chainsaw revved, ready to strike. Now, how dumb is this? Why have Insidious if you’re going to just sit there with the chainsaw fully revved anyway? Seems completely #########, yes?
No. He got two other survivors who stupidly ran to the hook and got sawed. Only one was smart enough to smash gens and escape.
You can’t blame killers for enjoying some low hanging fruit, especially when so much of the game is slanted towards the other side. -
The core of the game is still designed perfectly fine for high rank, what ruins it is SWF. Survivors are supposed to have 16 perks as a team, SWF gives you access to the effects many perks give you simply by being able to communicate with each other. You basically get free Bond, etc. One survivor sees your hex totem, you chase them off and engage, it’s guaranteed to be cleansed shortly after. And if you build end game strategies like Blood Warden or NOED, welp, too bad.
A majority of the ranks are fine because SWF is less of an issue.
-
As altruistic as survivors are, particularly SWF groups, it makes a lot of sense to stay near a hook.
Of course, I’ll also “camp” (aka patrol a hook) if you:
- last second character switch to flashlight
- Dstrike
- Body block or teabag constantly
- Abuse every loop on the map
Patrolling a hook or tunneling a survivor isn’t always about skill.
-
Huh?Usui said:Like I said a million times, there hasn't been a good survivor perk since David King. Yet killers have been getting at least 1 good perk every single chapter.
Vigil and Pharmacy are good. Vigil was nerfed with the Exhaustion change, but hey it’s still better than Surveillance.
All three Tapp perks are good. I run Detectives Hunch in my setup, it’s amazing.
I dont care for the window and pallet aura perk (forgot its name) but it’s good for newer players and “runners”. I use Boil Over sometimes. In some maps it legit gets you off killers shoulders easy. Dance is another good perk with the correct setup. As a killer main, it legit confuses the ****out of me sometimes.
Deliverance gives you a guaranteed self unhook just for getting a safe rescue. It’s a great perk. The pebble perk sucks and Autodidact is in a bad spot but can be amazing if adjusted.
The problem is most of these perks don’t replace the ultra good meta perks for many people so they’re considered trash. But in reality there are good perks there, just require some thought to be put into your builds.
Not to mention, you could say killer perks have been all trash for awhile too. It’s all about personal opinion. -
You need less BP to play the game optimally as a survivor. You can’t “thrash” that argument, because it’s simply a fact of life.Jack11803 said:If you actually read everything, you’d know how it’s important as you can spend money on both sides. Why is it hat if I want to level up survivors, I should play killer? If you play both sides, and the goal is leveling up; you’re argument gets thrashed
Its also common sense that a killer will score more, they are constantly doing things that increase their score and they have four people to do them to as well while survivors have one. -
@Nickenzie because that’s not the point of the perk. Might as well ask why Brutal Strength doesn’t also make you vault or pick up faster.
WGLF is to reward survivors for playing as part of a team and making altruistic plays. Personally the only change I think they need to make is now that they have a “safe rescue” scoring event, only make a WGLF token pop when you make one, don’t reward people for farming. Of course you’d still get tokens for taking hits, untrapping, stunning.
Why do you need more ways to generate stacks?
Flashlight save
Pallet save
Unhook
Untrap
Take a hit
I’m probably missing some. Not only are these beneficial for the survivor team, they’re beneficial to the killer as well. One or two people trying to set up saves or take hits = less people on gens. If you can get stacks just by pallet stunning killers or doing a gen... that’s too easy. -
@Nickenzie
It should be easier for a killer to get stacks. The devs want BBQ to discourage camping.
Also, of course killers get more BP. They require add ons which go away no matter how well they do in a match. Meanwhile a survivor can load in with a purple item and keep it off they escape, or they can just find another purple item in a chest. I can’t load in as Doctor and find Restraint Class III sitting on the map somewhere.
When trying to balance these perks, too many times people fail to understand that in an asymmetrical 4v1 game like this, the 1 side SHOULD have advantages and better abilities. -
It’s fine for what it is. If you want a BP boost, run WGLF, but do so at the cost of 1/4 of your perks. Adding other abilities or effects on would just be giving survivors more power, in a game where they already control much.
BBQ needs a secondary effect or use because it’s a killer perk, they have 1/4 the perks a survivor team does. -
Agreed. It’s a problem on Xbox, too.
-
Not yet, and I’m normally a very campy
tunnely killer. -
-
-
I’m fine with survivors keeping them because you get such a drastically low amount of BP as survivor compared to killer. A great killer match for me usually nets 65k+ BP. A great survivor match might get me 25k BP. Of course there are exceptions. A cake plus full WGLF stacks can get more, but on average you earn way more as killer.
-
Not every killer needs to be super meta effective tier S.
The Wraith is fun to play because he has unique powers, and now he also has varied add ons that have very different effects and give him more play styles. Yeah you can’t use his ability in a chase... that’s why you use stealth. And yeah “aware” survivors will see you coming but that’s the case with every killer. Anyone not Nurse/Billy/Huntress is pretty weak in a chase. -
As it pertains to the hatch, yes. The killer failed to secure it.Orion said:@Well_Placed_HexTotem said:
As a killer main I see it as the killer being bitter if they hold the game hostage at the hatch. Yeah, the hatch mechanics in their current form suck, but they’re part of the game. As killer if you want a 4k, kill the survivors before two gens pop. If you don’t, try to set it up so the last survivor doesn’t get hatch. If you fail at that, then the survivor has earned the escape.I literally just got done with a match where Billy left the third survivor as bait and any time I went near to heal, he came back looking for me. This is what I mean by setting it up so the last survivor can’t get hatch. But he failed, and got tired of looking, so he hooked the third guy, right by the hatch. I didn’t know it was right by the hatch at the time, but Billy just camped right there hardcore, so I knew.
So I ended up sitting in his terror radius for a couple minutes and then went and did a gen, leaving one left. As soon as it popped he came over, tried to chainsaw me, missed, and I ran to the hatch. He came over and stood there shaking his head. What proceeded was a 15 minute or so hatch “standoff”. As a survivor, there was nothing else I could do. The other three died leaving 2 gens remaining. I did a gen, but Billy was right on me afterwards. If it weren’t for the hatch, he’d have just caught up to me and downed me and killed me.
In my experience this is how most hatch standoff’s happen. The killer fails and still wants their kill. If a survivor loses me or makes it to the hatch before me, it’s theirs. You’re never going to win at the hatch, so don’t be bitter about it.
3 Survivors are dead, but the Killer is the one who failed?

This is a dumb rule that is too open to personal interpretation. Also as a killer main what if I focus someone not to “ruin their game experience”, but to improve MY game experience? There are a number of survivors who always abuse the crappiest loops on every map, run the most “toxic” perks, always carry flashlights. Survivors whose sole purpose every match is to annoy the killer and waste as much of their time as they can while their teammates obliterate the gens.
Im not allowed to remove these players from my game ASAP? That doesn’t make sense. If I see these players in my lobby it’s either a mori or a hard patrol when they’re hooked and they aren’t lasting long after that.
Then again I’m on Xbox so I don’t think bans are even possible there. -
Bump.
