So you’re saying the cells I won have been taken to Valhalla.
-
@not_Queen when the auric cells are released, do those of us who won some during the tourney stream get ours then? And was it 500?

CoD players know exactly when it’s coming.MineAntoiya said:Imagine if the COD players boycotted their game because both their platforms got the content 30 DAYS LATER THAN THE OTHER

Nothing except all the random stuff that support agents with zero access to the information can tell us.

Why would this mean there is no update this week? Could still come on other days. Game updates can come at any time. Planned DLC happens on Tuesday. Unplanned, “we’ll release it when it’s ready” DLC can come any time.Dr_doom_j2 said:Just so everyone is clear, as it is officially Tuesday In Arizona and there is no update in the store right now, there will be NO update this week either. It will be at least a week from today, and that assumes that it passed cert on both Xbox and Ps4.
If that's the case, this likely means no update until we are well into July
So, if you want to feel upset, y'know, now would be that time
It can still happen this week. Devs, wanna chime in?No? Ok. -

.... oh wait, there are tons of others just like these. Yet all these other games have devs who communicate on a clear basis exactly when it’s coming and why it might need to be resubmitted if it fails. We don’t need to spend years going to school and tens of millions of dollars making a game just to find out what we already know, LOL.
It's almost as if you failed to notice the major differences here, oh wait you completely ignored the huge ones. Let me point out the most obvious and glaring which you even mentioned in your post.
This is the 1st patch that has a in game micro transaction to it. So yes it's something completely new and untested for them. By the very nature of that issue it's going to be a lot more difficult for them.
Since the above is true and given the huge fallout due to EA, Activision and Ubisot etc being super greedy with the dlc stuff there's new rules all the companies have to follow now. If we look at the above being true still and now 2 is as well we see that since 1 is true the following is also true.
The other companies are already experienced in dealing with micro transactions and as such wouldn't have had as many issues dealing with the new changes.
This is their largest update yet and since all the above are true this made it more difficult. Now since the above are true and they're not as big as all the other companies out there this means that the 2 week time frame they gave is still accurate. That is give or take a few days or even a week.
Now since the above is all true the devs don't need to communicate unless the update is going to be delayed and since there's both console updates possible this week or next they;re just fine. So unless the console makers tell them otherwise it'll be this week given the shrine is down till the 29th. Which woudl be within their 2 week time frame.
Now since the above is still all true this would mean that yes you obviously need to go back to school and do what I said so you'd understand the the logic behind what i'd already posted. This is as plain a breakdown as it could get.
1. Like my post said, DbD is not the first game to launch without an in-game store but then be updated to include one. It wasn’t this delayed on other games. This is a popular excuse regurgitated by apologists. I can only assume DbD is the only game these people play and they have no experience with devs who are actually open with their community.
By by the way, what does the “difficult for them” part come in? They’ve already sent the patch in, right? Their work is done. It’s on Microsoft and Sony now.
2. lol uh... what? Because other companies caught slack for greedy microtransactions, other developers have “new rules” they have to follow? Can you link me to these “new rules”? And why do we still have games launching with greedy DLC then?
3 through 6 are just more irrelevant excuses you’re making.
bububbuubu the update is so big! Irrelevant.
bubububub other studios are bigger! Irrelevant, and also not true. People don’t understand that BHVR is a massive studio.
bubububuu they can’t give updates! False. Other games prove this is false. queens own post said this is a multi step process. You think they don’t know what step they’re on? Other devs give updates. It’s their prerogative to not update us. That’s why people are annoyed. I think all of us understand consoles take longer, it’s just the complete lack of info, when other devs provide plenty of info.
You don’t even need to spend years and millions of dollars to understand what I’m saying, just check out other forums and twitter accounts for other games you enjoy

Poorly run, because you don't like to wait? ######### man. Go play Fortnite.
My complaint is lack of communication prereleasre for pc and post. If you think this has gone smooth and poorly run isn’t good description for the curtain call release to consoles you are delusional..
I think you're the one that's delusional, once they send it to the console makers it's out of their hands unless and until they get told otherwise. I posted about it above and all the console players complaining about this with the false statements ensure 1 thing. In the future they'll do what other companies do and say it'll come out at a later date, no estimates.
They also can't do both releases at the same time, it doesn't work that way and when consoles do a release pc users sometimes either never get it or have to wait months for a release.
Finally some challenges for all the console experts posting all the nonsense.
Go create your own company, get it funded, make a game for pc. Then go try and get it through the certification process for the console makers. When you have to wait like everyone else that makes games then you'll know what Behavior has to deal with. There isn't a single one of you complaining that actually knows what you're talking about or how any of this works. Why not get a job with those companies in those fields so you can understand it all.
But that'd mean having to go to school and take the proper classes, and then actually putting in the work and dealing with all the crap etc of trying to do that stuff.

Hopefully not , as much as I want both consoles to have I don’t want them to release both at the same time if one is done before the other.
I don't think they would do that. I may be remembering wrong but one of the past DLC's came out for xbox a few days prior to the PS4 one. I was sad about it and that is the only reason why I remember.
PS4 usually is quicker on the cert process though so if it’s not ready on PS4 I can’t imagine it is for Xbox. -

They’ve been literally the exact opposite of clear. In fact, I don’t think a vast majority of people complaining on this board really care that the update is taking longer for console, we expect it. The complaining is because they arent being clear at all.MinusTheBillie said:This post is absolutely ridiculous. Just be patient. The team has been clear on the situation. No need for hissy fits.
Giving out pathetic, canned PR responses like “it’s in certification” and “we’ll update when we have more info!” is not being clear. Not when other games add similar content (expansions, storefronts for microtransactions) and don’t take this long to get certification, and not when other developers can give their community a timeline on the entire process, and let us know when and why something failed, if it does.
The only explanation for this amount of time is they either sent it in later than they made it seem, or it failed and had to be resubmitted. Neither of which they communicated to the community, despite your theory that they have been clear about the update.

No offends, but no chance. During the last event we saw, the Chinese New Year event, Xbone players had constant disconnect issues. Literally every single game seemed to have at least one person not load into the match, plus you constantly had the game freeze during a match. It was common to load in and there only be two survivors. If more than one person played one of those stupid event offerings, you were guaranteed multiple DCs.
Xbone players lost countless event offerings wasted with disconnects, they didn’t compensate. We lost loads of rank thanks to disconnecting, they didn’t reimburse in any way. We lost tons of items and offerings in games where we got disconnected, nothing. We lost loads of bloodpoints having to waste through on bloodwebs for those stupid offerings, got nothing back.
Theres no way they’d offer us something for the trouble because then they’d be admitting there is actual trouble. Right now they can just blame the ludicrous wait on MS/Sony and the certification process, which is exactly what they have been doing.
Bet! They extended it by two weeks just for them. That is literally compensating for the disconnects

Garbage. Like, I’m not as down on the commentator as others, but holy ######### why are the wait times so abysmal between matches? Also, DbD is supposed to be a dark, menacing game of cat and mouse between killer and survivor. So why are they blaring the type of music I’d expect to hear at a ######### rave? I’d rather just listen to the title screen music for the 45 minutes between matches.
Some people were spamming for Tyde or Tru to cast. No thanks. Tyde is terrible at casting, and Tru is great but you can barely understand him.
It did suck to see such little variation between each match, but what game isn’t like that, especially competitively? High rank in this game is pretty much entirely Nurse/BBQBilly versus Squadettes and all five decked out in meta perks. If you remove the perks, the others will still remain the same. And we all have known for a long time that a good Nurse craps all over every other killer. -
If they remove SWF, two things will happen. First, lobbies will be ruined as most survivors continue dodging and queueing again until they get matched with their friends. Then after they get tired of spending hours trying to get a few games in together, the game will fizzle out as survivors move on to games they can play together.
Something as simple as a blood point multiplier would go a great length to helping killers cope with SWF. Since they have no choice but to keep SWF in the game, there’s not much point in trying to fine tune the balance. SWF destroys balance. And you
cant give killers in game boosts based on SWF because there are too many variables. I solo queue constantly as survivor. Why should I be stuck in a match with a super killer just because the other three players are SWF? And you can’t do separate playlists either. Add a SWF only playlist and killers will just avoid it. Make SWF only available in some unranked list and they’d have to disable bloodpoints there so why would anyone play it?
Its hard to balance a 4v1 game. -
So they’re still clutching to that “it’s so big it requires a long certification process!” even though loads of other games prove this is false.jessie_12 said:We apologize for the wait of The Curtain Call Chapter to our PS4 and XBOX ONE players.

The PC platform, however, grants us the ability to publish our build instantaneously. In the meantime, we will keep you posted on any developments. Note that as soon as either the PS4 or XBOX build is approved, we will release it.

They either sent it in well after it released on PC, or it failed/was pulled from certification to change something. If only they had made some promise to be more open and honest with the community, we wouldn’t need to speculate. Too bad they never promised that. -

Yep. I’ve stopped running self care as a survivor because it makes the game too unbalanced and easy. If they took it out they wouldn't need to do anything else to balance the game.
But if they removed it, it would make the game so much more balanced and would nerf some of the most OP survivor perks but also strengthen some of the other ones. There are some perks that make you stronger when injured that no one uses because people just self care. There’s also botany which could make med kits a lot better.

The max certification time is 10 days. They announced the release date for PC and said console is in certification 12 days ago.

Weeks, so it could be 23 weeks from now.
-
1. It has been 10 days.
2. They can track the progress. Queen even said the other day it’s a multi step process. So they know where it’s at. PLENTY of other devs give constant updates on twitter and their forums regarding the certification process.
Thats the main flaw with everyone defending BHVR here. Every excuse being created can be instantly discredited and proved wrong by the crap tons of other games on the market. BHVR isn’t reinventing the certification wheel here.
At at the end of the day it’s not a big deal, in fact I’ve probably played more now than I normally would have just trying to make sure I stay as close to 1 million bloodpoints as possible and trying to squeeze as many 550 shard exchanges into the shrine as I can. But they’ve lost any money I would have spent on cosmetics supporting them. Anyone else fed up with their nonsense, just vote with your wallet.

Other games have added stores requiring payments and they didn’t take weeks to pass certification.bambusratte_xD said:@Damaho said:
Given the track record of the devs screwing things up, especially around bugs (unhook lag, multiple sound bugs, etc.) I wouldn't be surprised if theya.) send in an old patch and didn't notice it for days
b.) made several completely obvious bugs that would break PSN/XBL, thus having to resend multiple patches
c.) completely forgot to even send in a patch which they only noticed several days laterThis whole situation would be more forgivable if this was the first patch they release on console. But it is not. They know the drill, so they could have planned ahead and found a solution that made everyone happy but the way it is now, they simply pissed off a lot of their customers with their incompetence and destroyed the trust many had in their roadmap.
At this point, I'm not even mad anymore. We all were foolish for thinking that Behaviour would be able to keep their promise of "almost simultaneous" release of patches. We should have expected for them to fail, for they are Behaviour and are bound to make the most obvious mistakes. They should be glad that their game is niche enough that there are not many more competent developers competeing with them, while simulteneous being broad enough to gather a rather big fan base.
Man you guys are so toxic, thats incredible. Do you really think a Software/Game-Developer is that dumb?
not_Queen already said that the certification process could be longer because of the new store and the payment data Sony/MS "owns" so they have an interessest to Test/Certificate that. That needs time, Companies are working slow. For me BHVR had 3 options:
1) send Update to Sony/MS before PTB on PC Starts, to release simultaniously. You guys problably would go cracy because the bugs found in PTB would be in Console-Version for 1-2 Weeks
2) hold PC update back untill Consoles are ready. Oh god you guys totally go crazy
3) Do it like they did.So for me, they just did one thing some of you hate them for, but they never could do it good for all.
Also as for what they could do, they can work harder to make sure their patches are better and yeah, push the consoles cert out when they do the PTB. If they find any crucial bugs they can always fix it and restart the certification process. And communicate with their community in that event.
Lets be honest if the unhook lag from 2017 and massive disconnect issue that Xbone faced early this year can both make it through BHVRs QC process, would it really matter if console certs got pushed through early? If they find nothing substantial, great. Everyone gets the updates close together. If they messed the patch up, ok... fix it and try again. Console players have to wait awhile either way and PC is unaffected.
But communication is key. We’re already past the 10 day cert time. Has it failed? Have they made changes and restarted? Other devs making much bigger games with a similar team size can somehow keep their communities up to date about what step the patch is in, when it should arrive, and what if anything goes wrong. Why can’t BHVR? All we get is “soon”, “weeks”, “we’ll let you know”.
-
Man every time I see this thread I get excited thinking it’s some sort of official announcement that it’s out on PS4 because I know Xbone would be very shortly after
-
Killers, yes, because each killer is unique with their own abilities and play styles.
Survivors, no, because they are all pretty much the same. The only difference is some look better as P3 than others. I went with David for my P3 character and he barely has blood on him at P3. Meanwhile characters like Claudette, Dwight, and a couple others look like they literally bathed in blood at P3.
So whatever survivor you enjoy most, P3 that one and just get the rest up to 40 for the teachables.
-
Tier 2 and 3 of Franklins will not only knock the item from your grasp but it also erases some of its charges, so you might have not had much use left in the items and when the killer hit you it just erased the items.
Or maybe this is an extension of the glitched items people are experiencing.
-
Saw this happen twice to an Xbox streamer last night. He survived the match, had plenty left on his flashlight, lost it when he was back in the lobby. Did not get hit with Franklins while escaping.
-
6 hours ago on Twitter:
“We hope to be announcing more info soon”
So whatever the ######### that means. I love this new more open communication with the community.
-
Apparently we live in a magical world where Dead By Daylight takes weeks to get certified, needs extra care because it’s like, totally such a huge update, and requires extra special care because they added a store to the game.... meanwhile plenty of other games do every thing I just listed and somehow not only get all three platforms out at the same time, and do it all within 5 days or so of entering certification.
Eventually we might run out of excuses for them. I’ve decided not to spend a penny on cosmetics, I’ll just keep slugging away until the update finally hits, but lol some of you are shill as #########.
Since they read the thread, hey guys, have you failed certification or something? @not_Queen said it’s a process with lots of steps and moving parts. What step are we on, what part is holding it up?
Anyone play Kingdom Come? Huge, epic game. When they do patches they communicate with the players where the cert is at, when it should be done (exact days, not “within weeks”) and if it fails or they need to restart they let us know and explain exactly why.
So what the dealio?

Coriander said:An update that involves marketplace with RMT is going to need a lot of scrutiny from both systems before they let it pass: they don't get lazy when money is involved, and Sony or Microsoft don't want any problems. Patch-wise it's always been like this for consoles; remember when new heroes get released on Overwatch? PC gets it first, then consoles often a great deal later. Be patient and start saving up items for combating the new killer/survivor.
Overwatch does simultaneous releases now the only thing pc gets is the ptr. They do console cert while the ptr is up so everything is released at the same tim
Wow, what a logical way to do things. Also, that guy is wrong. Other games that added in game stores have had a cert time of the max 10 days or even less. This idea that adding cosmetics or “the size” of the update is leading to increased certification time is just deflecting.
-
You can complain and also be patient.
-
That’s my plan. Like I said in the other console thread, I was going to buy a $50 or $100 card as buy the new chapter and then blow the rest on cosmetics just to support the dev because ever since I bought the game last year I’ve played almost nothing else. Over 1,000 hours in that time, I even double dipped and got the PC version too, even though I prefer Xbox.
But now I’ll just buy the DLC for the new perks and not spend a penny on cosmetics. Can’t support these types of shenanigans.
By the way, all this nonsense about size and adding stores and what not is irrelevant. We’ve had plenty of other games launch patches to know it’s not accurate. The Division has had multiple gargantuan patches plus added paid expansions and a microtransaction cosmetics store and it didn’t take “weeks” for certification. The longest duration I saw was 10 days, which is the max.
How have they not figured out how to time it better? Maybe send the console patch for certification earlier? Have they failed certification, or needed to restart for some reason? Who knows. “Certification is a multi step process” that’s great, so how many steps are there and what step are we on? lol
