Item gone into nothingness

I just played as a survivor and the killer had the perk " Franklins Demise".
The killer hit me when I passed over a palette and i lost my item.
I did not move anymore and the killer left, so I come back for my item and it was gone.

It just happened to me on 3 different games..

Barbecue and Chili does not affect items, i think you mean Franklins Demise.

Tier 2 and 3 of Franklins will not only knock the item from your grasp but it also erases some of its charges, so you might have not had much use left in the items and when the killer hit you it just erased the items.

Or maybe this is an extension of the glitched items people are experiencing.
