  • When making survivor concepts, what made Jane come into mind? How is she relevant to the theme of this chapter?

  • Isn’t it some branch of Babylonian?

  • It was absolutely crazy to see the sheer amount of work that went into the plague; the research of Babylonian Dialect, to an elegant example of gorgeous yet grotesque, the killer for this chapter is by far one of the best designed.

    Just my opinion though.

  • It can be a good thing.

Feedback is always feedback regardless of how harsh, but people fail to realize that there’s multiple standings on everything, and refuse to account for other views.

But do consider, the devs are people:

They work on it. What I see on here ALOT especially a certain someone, ping the devs way too much, and try to push for a change that the company themselves should make. Not to say there haven’t been good examples of this, but overall it can be a lot; sifting through all the feedback, which is why surveys are much easier.

  • I love the skirt of Kate: not the shirt or hair. They could’ve done something not as... meh. Maybe like a bold red gown, something to compliment Claudette. Or something branded JR.

  • Kate: COUNTRY ROOOOOADS

    Claudette:@me hoe

    Spirit:s p o o k

  • https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/022/A7V25BDUHAUL.png Jane = Rank 1

    Raini Rodriguez would be proud.

  • Now that I realize it, the only thing that really seems out of place from Leprosy would be the fever and the vomiting.

I'm still kind of reading and looking, but I guess that would be the mouth droplets

Mouth Droplets is seperate from vomiting. Sneezing, coughing, runny noses, and all that is mouth droplets.

  • I wouldn’t say ableist- I believe the design could be seen as that way due to its design, however, I feel that this is unintentional. The Devs have seperate priorities as it stands, and they’re constantly reading the forums! Good for whoever posted this, their concern and opinion matters.

I hope this issue gets attended to, and sorry to whoever is struggling with the game’s current design.

Leprosy is an infectious disease that causes severe, disfiguring skin sores and nerve damage in the arms, legs, and skin areas around the body. ... You can catch it only if you come into close and repeated contact with nose and mouth droplets from someone with untreated leprosy.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/589/LBBYTGPPXGR5.png

    Go for it 😂

What about the vomiting? Also, what about the odd redness to her complexion (likely a fever), but still. I think it could be a sister to Leprosy, since the vomiting and skin issues, but not only that she has a fever.

  • Emetophobia, anyone? Just try to associate it with other things than Vomit, like a toxic sludge. I really hope we don’t hear her like “BLEGH”’Ing.

  • If it wasn’t in Red Forest, I’d like it more.

  • I’d like to say Leprosy due to the sheer amount of... Pus filled sacks running up her arm; but her complexion seems to be almost dotted, much like Polio. She also has a whooping cough, so something along the lines of the Flu, Bubonic Plague, or perhaps Changas Disease. These are diseases much like Leprosy, although the likely candidate, is indeed Leprosy.

  • tHeRe’S a StUn?!? It MuSt Be Op!!!!

Gosh, do you even know how the perk works? Read the flavor text. All of it. It’s a fun perk IMO.

i think gentapping is the least of our problems rn, run PGTW, or ruin, or something. IDK, maybe overcharge

This statement leads me to believe that you have no idea what gen tapping is?

Gen tapping counters RUIN and it CAN be slower than regularly pushing through the ruin skill checks but it doesn't have to be slower. It all solely depends on the skill check frequency. If you run a Doc with the Distressing, Unnerving Presence and Ruin or Huntress Lullaby combo, gen tapping effectively nullifies this whole build and they sacrifice maybe 30% of the repair speed.

I don’t GenTap, but from what I’ve read about it, it doesn’t matter. It takes progressively longer when you do gentap, but if you run Overcharge to fix it. Sometimes, you don’t have a choice with gentapping for one of a few reasons.
    1. Killer is guarding hex.
    2. Ruin, and you’re bad at skillchecks
    - with the penalty of being significantly harder than hitting them,
I don’t feel like it’s of concern since dribbling often resulted in (my case), me getting off the shoulder of the person who is dribbling me.

gen tapping is fine. if we can stop regression, you can go damage it again for even more progress

Damaging it does only starts a really slow decay of progress. The animation of the damaging is so long however that you can run behind a survivor in a loop and he always taps the gen, you damage it again, and this can go on forever

i think gentapping is the least of our problems rn, run PGTW, or ruin, or something. IDK, maybe overcharge
  • gen tapping is fine. if we can stop regression, you can go damage it again for even more progress
  • I have over 64, I know how you feel.
  • Maybe it’s a museum. The borders kinda look like balconies.
  • Steam save sync is much better than the Epic Games store, or where you’d have to save manually, and you’re saved would be tied to the computer itself.
Ranking is easy to surpass, you just need to know how to get points (at least two gold emblems), and youre set. Player progress has two types, rank progression, and individual character progression. The goal of the system is to maximize flexibility, that way, you can set a certain survivor up to have all the perks, and level other survivors up on the way.
    P3 LVL. Fifty is more of a playtime thing. Most people with all P3 50’s likely have thousands of hours of playtime, or at the bare minimum, hundreds; or, they hacked it in, and is accounted by the anti cheat software they use. There’s some things you can change in the game (to your own risk), such as splash art for perks, or characters. The developers currently have their eyes set on five things;
    1. Optimizing the game.
    2. Trying new matchmaking systems
    3. Prepping for chapters, releasing content
4.Having to work with three consoles, and soon to be fourth, (That being, Nintendo),
    5. Balancing the game.
Most of the stuff they have now is relatively good, and it is in the works. New progression could cause a ton of issues, namely the progress on the characters will not translate, and the genuine consensus of the playerbase will have to start over. Steam Sync works fine as it does now, IMO. I personally haven’t had issues with it.
  • I don’t know, I think the teaser looks a lot like a cathedral. Frankly, I hope it’s a shaman or a nun.
Cool theory though- never would’ve thought of that.
  • A Legion and I played on a pallet for two generators.
  • i want like a water themed chapter. that’d Be cool
  • escaping isn’t the main goal. getting the proper emblems to pip is. escaping is just extra points. not necessary
  • no thanks. also, stop pinging the devs! they’ll read it eventually
  • I got put into a match as a rank thirteen with my rank twenty friend, with two random people (both rank 2), and the killer was like rank 3.
  • If someone with BBQ has a hex and hooks a person when I finish cleansing, i teabag. Just sit there, and teabag the hex. Only after the killer tunnels my friend, tho.
  • In the wise words of Mcote, “Play something else”.
    It’s Okay to take breaks.
  • His VA did a really good job! I wish he wasn’t THAT loud though.

When we are ready to communicate about the new content, we will.
The only thing I am allowed to say right now is Soon™

I understand :) but can you at least tell me if you already have the teaser ready but not posted it yet? :D

    I’ll keep u posted bestie
  • Then why don’t you check the ping before entering games?
I think the hitboxes are fine- it’s my fault if I go down anyway, lol.
  • It depends on how you wanna look at it.
I think (as a survivor,) NOED, while annoying, is okay. Survivors can cleanse it throughout the match- it’s your fault if you don’t.
Some of the new totem spots make hunting so much harder, and since it isn’t bound until end game, you don’t really know for sure.
But, like I said- it’s balanced. With the upcoming DS changes, I think it’ll have a lot more attention toward it.
  • Or.
it really depends on the recent events in the community, such as patches, buffs, nerfs, etc.
  • It said “Only one obsession per match” in the flavor text, I thought.
  • JenDenise, Geistra, and No0b3. Couldn’t decide.
  • This has been talked of before- you’re not the only one to think of a 2v8.
  • Healer on Heel: Your previous experience motivates you. If you run a certain distance, you receive a token.
1 Token- Increase to healing speed. When healing is started, it consumes a token.
2 Tokens - All skillchecks while healing will now be considered great- once healing ends, token is consumed.
3 Tokens- Your healing ignores status effects and goes at regular speed. Once finished, two tokens are consumed.
This perk does not affect Self-Care.

Made this up on the fly, what do you think?
  • Just wait a week. Teaser may or may not be dropped due to speculation.
  • That’s the chapter code name, Mali. Spirit’s chapter was called Haiti. Legions was called Kenya. They didn’t seem relative to the country- since, as you know, Haiti is completely different than Japan, where the chapter was based. The chapter isn’t based in Mali- it’s based somewhere else. Mali was our hint. For example: when the Nightmare on a elm street was codenamed England, it was because Freddy’s original actor, Robert Englund, had a similar name.

So, like many people on this thread are saying- and are backed by the DBD Gamepedia, due to the trend of the recent chapter releases, Mali isn’t where the chapter is based- it’s our hint. The flag in particular should be examined. If we can figure out the trend, we can follow it- if there is one. Otherwise, this could be all for nothing.

  • Most “hidden perks” such as a mori can be easily seen, but is not flipped- I mean, afterall, mori’s are just addons. They didn’t cheat. They knew.
I’m not defending these people by any means- but I wouldn’t really think of it as a bug... well, some addons can be counter played. If we’re going in to specifics, the legion exploit had been patched- but you can usually play around MOST addons...

I’m gonna be honest- this post kinda confused me- are you talking of the hidden perks like NOED, or addons for killer? Personally, in the context I’m reading this (someone with decent enough experience), you can tell what the killer is running by tell tale clues, playstyles, timing, etc.

You don’t need a hack. If you have decent enough experience, you can infer.

No more exclusive skins they said

Then released exclusive skins from deathgarden. Notice on the Q&A about switch edition it says they can’t answer about exclusive content. That should say ‘No, no exclusives’. Maybe switch will get some, who knows.

Perhaps they meant no more exclusive as in, can no longer obtain unless you played at X point in time, such as The Legacy skin.

You can still get the Death Garden "exclusives" I am pretty sure. Just need both games is all.

I’m sure you can but not on console. They said no more exclusives before deathgarden was announced so they backtracked on that statement.

Does that count as an exclusive though? You can buy deathgarden and get the mask- is it more of a promotion DLC, maybe? IDK.
  • Ps4 matchmaking is shocking, the wait times are getting worse. If these ban waves people keep talking about happen then we are royally screwed because there will be very few people left. I say as tough as it is, take the good with the bad. To original poster, yeah your friend had high ranks but he was maxed out perk wise.

As someone who is Xbox, I suffer the same issue. However, I’m pretty sure we’re getting new matchmaking within a few weeks or months, can’t be certain though. They’re testing a new system.

The end of the discussion for you perhaps as the rest of us will be carrying on.

Fair enough! Go on ahead, discuss your ideas. (Had a rough morning, sorry for my pissy tone), it just feels like I’ve seen so many of these posts recently.
  • no it isn’t. end of discussion
  • Myers and Hag. Hag made me jump, when I first encountered her phantasms. Myers is just one spooky boi when he runs jumpscare.
  • death rate is high, but it doesn’t take a lot to pip. The goal is to not necessarily rank up, but fill a minimum.

Do keep in mind that syringe and stryptic are very rare items and cost a lot of bloodpoints. Insta-heal has its downsides- you lose the medkit, making it one time use.

These add-ons may be rare in theory but you find them in every bloodweb on lvl 50. Spending bloodpoints is not a downside gameplay-wise. And of course, insta-heals are one-time-use? If they weren't, nobody would need to play this game anymore.

When losing a brown medkit is the only argument somebody can bring up, then you know there really is no argument.

We have talked about these points several times already in this thread.

If they're in "every" bloodweb, where is it? I can go multiple bloodwebs without coming across one. Even if you say the percentage is high, it's not. Out of all my characters (I have all but 2 and 8 of which are level 50), only 2 have anything to do with the insta-meds on their webs and one of which is a rank 40 I'm bound to never play again unless I actually waste points at ranking him up and getting better perks (or, y'know, daily). I'd be up for the argument of limiting the type of medkit to green or higher, but saying it appears every bloodweb on lvl 50 is an outright lie and you know it. They are rare. That's the point of them. You're bound to go through 4+ looking for them. It may not feel like it is, though, 'cause we have cheaters among us who can just give themselves an unlimited supply.

I like how you chose to ignore the entire balance issue and instead post a screenshot of a bloodweb where you don't have an insta-heal.

We already established that spending bloodpoints, the cost of items/add-ons etc. have nothing to do with gameplay balance.

Just shows to everyone that you very well know that these add-ons are unbalanced freebies for survivors and you don't know which point you could bring up to justify keeping insta-heals as they are. Which is understandable, since there just is no valid point.

Nah, I'm just pointing out holes in your argument. I've already approached with my opinions of what's being pushed and you've willfully not acknowledged or dismissed it. Exaggeration doesn't really help your case, like pretending survivors just are fed points for existing and therefore always have a ton of extra BP to spend.

It's not a hole in my argumentation. We are not talking about the cost of add-ons.

You refuse to talk about the topic of the thread which is the balance of insta-heals. Instead, you try to distract with talking about how often these add-ons appear in bloodwebs, how they are so expensive... It's like writing in a NOED discussion thread "My character is on lvl 40 and still no NOED".

If you don't want to talk about the topic of the thread, that's totally fine. Just stop writing here. But stop trying to disctract and acknowledge valid arguments.

The first post indicated a change should be done to insta-heals. While I agree the item/add-on should be weakened, I don't think the change should be as abysmal as "you're exposed when you use it" since that would make it relatively unusable. It's supposed to be an ultra rare item and those should help you win. They do on the killer side. Why should they get in the way and actually screw over the person using it when used on the survivor side?

Giving the exposed status effect would not "screw over" the person using the insta-heal. It would in many cases prevent insta-heals from being used in front of the killer, for example in a chase. But it would not make the insta-heal unusable at all since it would still save the survivors a lot of time.

And sure "It's like writing in a NOED discussion thread "My character is on lvl 40 and still no NOED"." would be valid if your argument against people saying it's expensive and therefore shouldn't be useless wasn't that you can get every bloodweb. Going back to you saying "These add-ons may be rare in theory but you find them in every bloodweb on lvl 50." The point in my post is to point out how much of an exaggeration that is. And maybe "Spending bloodpoints is not a downside gameplay-wise." is true for you, but it isn't true for someone who's still leveling up their characters, getting new perks and so on.

That spending bloodpoints is not a downside gameplay-wise and therefore not something that has anything to do with the balance of insta-heals is a fact. A fact is not anything you can have an opinion on. Like the earth is not flat. That's a fact and not something you can have an opinion on.

"But stop trying to disctract and acknowledge valid arguments." In this case is the same as saying "agree with me," right? Because you don't find the argument "valid" and therefore it should be dismissed.

It's not about you having to agree with me. It's about that when you have a discussion with other people they expect you to bring up valid points and when you don't but instead try to distract, then they'll notice and say something about it.

People aren't going to equip an item that'll give them an exposed affect. What times do you see insta-heals used? If someone's being tunneled off hook and you try to insta-heal them, they're likely to go right back down if they're in a bad spot. Given people shouldn't be able to just insta-heal mid-chase as easily. I agree that's dumb, but giving it such a downside isn't the way to go. I saw someone suggest making it a heal over time, which sounds interesting to me. I'd be up for that change. Like maybe it would go off of the medkit's speed.

If you're rank 50 and don't have any, sifting through a bloodweb to look for more is a downside. That's a fact. If you switch to another character who may not have all your typical perks or even good ones, it'll advantage the killer as you may forget or not play with your typical build so be out of element. This isn't a flat earth sort of conversation, but the fact that you're treating it as such is telling.

The opposite of agreeing with your point would be to say "I don't think you should be exposed because of x,y,z." I did so and I'm being told to stop misdirecting the conversation. How is that not about having to agree with you?

Yeah. If insta heals aren’t balanced- what about insta-down? You’ve constantly said our medkit addons are OP,
Yet, for some reason, you never fail to mention the downsides. Look- addons, especially purple or pink, are EXPENSIVE. The exposed status, while controversial, has the ability to reward bad playstyles, and skills.
If you can’t listen to us, why should we listen to you?
