  • This post is... well, wrong. The project name is Mali- but that shouldn’t mean anything, since the legion dlc was a project called Kenya. I think that’s just a red herring.
  • The project name is Mali, like how legion was Kenya. There’s no way of saying for certain what the killer is, since generally, most of the evidence brought up thus far is hypothetical, or invalid.

No comments... very strange: the forum is full of bizarre proposals on revolutionary mechanics, and I agree: I would just like a corner where the Community could try these changes to test their beauty and feasibility. :)

THe problem is that this would require so many changes from the code side that they will never do that (sadly).
Dont forget how the proceduarl generation works, if you mess with a few variables or allow weird ranges, then there will occur a lot of issues that needs to be adressed. Take for example the gens, the whole code will probably break if you tell it to generate with 8 instead of 7 gens

Well, we’ll see, won’t we? There’s no way of saying for certain. There’ll likely be a minimum and maximum number of generators.
  • I don't really understand this. KYF is a place where you can mess around with friends and try out builds, so why can't we try out the killers or survivors as well. This could also probably lead to letting console players test out new content. All perks are accessible but the killers and survivors that they came with are not. Why do I have to buy dlc killers/survivors to test them with friends to see if I like them or not? It couldn't be that hard to unlock all characters in KYF only, since you already have all the perks accessible.

Survivors are just skins. Sure you can try out the perks, (all of them), but giving a survivor which is paid dlc free of charge wouldn’t make sense imo.
  • I’m praying that generators get done, but I’m super excited!
  • What do you think the entity is? Some people say a god, or something- but how can we REALLY know? It may be evil incarnate- but what really is it?

The Legion one....thank God it was removed.

    What about the Spirit's soundtrack?

I liked Spirit’s! It sounded so sad, and had Japanese instruments in the back. Clown was nice, I liked that. Legion was way too loud for me. I didn’t like the electric guitar much.
  • Congrats on getting it! : )

First and foremost, consider this: constantly disconnecting can result in PERMANENT bans. The toxicity is unfortunately inescapable, as it is with most multiplayer games. The long wait times for matches would also factor into yet another reason this wouldn’t fit the game far too well.

Furthermore, some people may exploit that matter as a means to avoid someone; and down rank them, penalizing them. The likelihood of this working in the environment that the game is suited for, this system wouldn’t work. If you don’t like the toxicity, ignore it. People spamming you in your console messages? Block them, or don’t feed into them. Don’t bother with the endgame chat- it’s optional! Not necessarily needed to be attended to at the end of the game.

You're actually braindead. Your argument is that someone somewhere might "exploit" the system, which is total bullshit by the way, yet you're okay with the current situation. Right now you can lag switch via bottlenecking your connection, you can use MLGA, you can rip out your ethernet cable to save items and all of that without getting banned. Yet you're saying that those good changes could potentially get exploited. Jesus Christ you're dumb.

Dude , you don't have to be that damn rude ..you could have explained nicely without saying the swears -_- people nowadays just be @$$izies over small things.

Back then , people just started wars for small things or ignored it.
    ^ This.
Plus, do remember, this is all hypothetical. We don’t really know what’s going to happen; so right now, it’s smoke and mirrors really.
  • Keep going after them. Don’t camp them, but disregard the easy kill they’re putting in front of me since it ruins people’s experiences, and promotes toxicity.
  • Ruin is an odd duck, in terms of perks. Ruin usually either gets cleansed at the start of the match, or is found too late, IMO.
  • The game is fun! And the people running it, are great too. :)
  • congrats on the 4K!

    also, weird flex but ok
  • Honestly tea. But seriously, just ignore them if you have that many issues with it.
  • Probably try looking around the campfire. Like, is there other wildlife? Where do the offerings come from?
(And yes the bloodweb exists but those are PHYSICAL items).
  • The undying faith in their community, and stubbornness to keep the project going for years to come.  Their willingness to accept any sort of feedback, and try to learn from the community while shaping the path for their future.
Ingame, for me, it’s gotta be the new cosmetics. Kate is simply iconic for me, since I like the theme of her cosmetics (singing, southern culture etc), which is a delight.
  • Think of it as a light at the end of the tunnel that’s never gonna be reached. Even if they do reach the end, it’s too late.
  • I’ll try to have something arranged.

Thank-you! I based my chapter off the thing that always scared me in both horror movies and horror games, and that was children. I didn't want my killer to have every single advantage in the game so I placed a flaw in her power so she can't know where the survivors are when they miss skill checks. And with the drawings I wanted to incorporate Lucy's love for games into her power. I didn't want her to be able to hide in actual lockers, so I decided to go with the drawings as a form of intensity and surprises. I've been planning these characters, perks, and everything out because I absolutely love the game and only want to see it grow more than it already has... In your mind, do you think this could ever become an actual chapter release In the game?
Maybe! I think that there’s DEFINITELY some sort of way they could use this, for sure! If enough support is given (say, the breakdown perk), if you had enough support it could be considered! Chances are the devs have looked at this, or will eventually. Who knows?
  • that game was good. i don’t wanna see my bestie get mori’d
  • Though children of the corn is ICONIC, in horror, I’ll pass.

  • A Chinese New Year event would probably be the actual holiday (or cultural celebration). Tuesday, the fifth of February is the day of the actual celebration, and the event would probably show up a week before. I can’t speak for the devs, but that seems to be the closest I can get. Be sure to keep an eye out for the developer stream (or whatever they wish to do), this Thursday, at 2:00 p.m. EST!
  • Fun! I love the idea of a Hotel Map, and Lucy’s backstory is very well-written. My personal favorite was the drawings, as they acted as lockers for her. The survivors perks seem cool! If you ran Journalist with a map, you’d get total visibility of some of the traps. Fun idea! : )
  • They’re actually looking for a UI designer right now, if you looked at there LinkedIn. They’re focusing on optimization of the game itself before the menus, meaning, perk changes, interactions, glitches, hitboxes, and the game itself.

EDIT: Didn’t Peanits talk to you about this on the post about pips?
  • Gamechat is known to be a cesspool of toxicity, (to the devs displeasure), I’d advise avoiding it. Often, the survivors are in a upset state of mind, and we all know sometimes, people don’t mean what they say when they’re mad. If they go as far too call you any type of slur, then yes, it’s a communications issue itself and is reportable. If you haven’t reported them ingame already, I’d advise visiting customer support if it is THAT serious. Follow all directions, provide screenshots, and so forth. Here’s the link to the support site: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/sections/360000085466-Customer-Support
  • The event has concluded! Sorry about your luck, for those who didn’t participate.

Rotten Fields is the game's ultimate proof that it's just a casual party game at its core. The map was designed without any regard for how it blatantly favours and disfavours certain killers. Whenever I land on this map I just accept that the outcome was predetermined by whichever killer I am playing or facing.

Or... the design was preconceived, as the farm wouldnt be completed without some sort of crop. You can see the movements of the survivors running through the corn, if you play a tall enough killer.

The concept for the map was first developed- then the actual development for the map itself. Take an excerpt from the dead by daylight wiki. “Now it's abandoned, but still, someone seems to care for the corn in some way as the stalks still stand tall.”

This was meant to fit how the Hillbilly (a decently tall killer) managed the crops prior to the entity’s reimagined version of it.

Are you arguing that I am wrong in that they intentionally designed the map to favour Hillbilly and screw over some other killers? That still essentially makes me right in principle.

No. There’s like no pallets, that’s the tradeoff. Just track the survivor based on moans, bloodtrail, or scratchmarks.

That's fine if you're playing something like Wraith or Hillbilly, but try playing Huntress and have fun tracking them when they can start urban evading away as soon as they hear the lullaby. But that's not even what I was getting at. Try playing Myers on Rotten Fields. You basically can't even use your power.

Highground. That’s the simplest answer I can give. There’s tractors in the field. You can track and stalk survivors from there. You can even see them moving in the corn as huntress.

  • None of these would fit the games plot, and mechanics. You shouldn’t be able to harm the killer in any other way than pallets, that’s it. Sure, flashlights and stuff, but that’s it. The game is supposed to be a despair wrenching experience for the survivors (in a plot sense), and so on. If I saw a survivor carrying a shotgun or flamethrower, I’d give up. Namely due to the fact that they would have no experience with said weapon, (with the exception of maybe Bill), but otherwise, I don’t agree. Other objectives and the end game need to be addressed before we introduce new items.
    EDIT: Maybe a 2v8, but that’s it.
  • Here’s the issue with this entire post. 1. There was no reason to screenshot that match. 2. It’s not that hard to get 142,000 bloodpoints if you just get a mix-match of perks/add-ons/offerings/items. 3. This clearly shows that the devs have a horrible bloodpoint return system if this is the case, as everything I stated just shows that it takes two simply steps to easily get your points back...
    And that’s bad because?
If you’d sunk in hours of effort only for it to disappear, well, there may be some room for different opinions, but 400,000 BP is a decent amount. The average game (given that you play to the objective, and rank up) gives at least ten thousand points. Ten-twenty minutes is how long the current matches feel to me. Say, you have bloody party streamers. Those are offerings, meaning that you could eventually run out of said party streamers. And when put in conjunction with the perks that grant bonus bloodpoints (such as WLGF, BAC, and other point perks), grant another bonus, with certain conditions to fulfill. It can take quite awhile to get the proper amount of bloodpoints, and getting someone to level fourty, can take over a million bloodpoints (given my horrific luck), but nonetheless the system is the least of priority is terms of optimizing the game itself, instead of the interactions with perks. And if change is made to these perks, they’ll have to be tested with all other perks depending upon what the perk applies. The most you can get from a match at the bare minimum is 32,000, 64,000, 128,000. However, that’s only if you get iridescent in every category, and people around you are running the proper offerings.
  • Then you’d just run Resilience, but with skillchecks, and reversed?

@Watery Sorry, I don't understand what you mean. Is it forbidden for a French Canadian company to recruit experienced translators, one for each language?
    No, consider this.
First and foremost; consider the fact that this company is not nearly as better off as others. Due to the fact that Behavior for the longest time has been providing assets, instead of actually building a full game (granted, they make mobile games), and this was one of the few projects they actually have done themselves. Not only that, but consider this; the French company mostly handles their communication in English; but I think it’s merely a matter of budget, if you get my gist. It’s not like they don’t want to fix the translation errors- but it likely has been addressed and is being worked on internally.
EDIT: Furthermore,  due to the rise of concern within these translations, the developers have likely taken note of it and could be working on it. Do understand I wish the translations were better myself! Don’t get me wrong, as someone who is learning Spanish, the translations are... odd, but I do believe there was no intent behind these mistakes, and will be improved. Functioning off of feedback is essential to the company! Which makes this post great. I think it’s great that you took the time to write it, but i was merely putting my opinion on the matter.
  • It makes the game crash? I’ve been on Xbox and played against people with sloppy (including a wraith!) and i have had no issues.
  • Do keep in mind this a French Canadian based company, which may hinder the translations. They’re likely attending to this as we speak.
  • They worked fairly quick for me! Here, I’ll show my screenshots. This was roughly a few hours or so after I filed my ticket.
  • I believe this is the best course of action, as I looked through customer support and auric cell posts alike, and I couldn’t find anything of value. However, there’s one more thing I’d like to add.
EDIT: Once I finish sifting through a few more posts, I’ll try to see what I can find.
  • The conversion rate may be... off, or rounded. Here’s the conversion rate chart, courtesy of not_queen, is what is found on the auric cell post by, not_queen. Here’s the source:https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/3421/auric-cells-packs-conversion-rates-adjustments

You mean Steam? It charges that exact amount that you see in the screenshot

No, PSN. The 5.99 one, I mean. I’m wondering whether or not it was a mislabel or not, that’s all.
  • Does it actually charge that amount? Or does it charge 187 pesos (like, five dollars USD)? Like when you actually partake in the transaction. The listing may be wrong, but the charges may not.
  • I wouldn’t think so. Amanda’s beartrap and jigsaw boxes are purely RNG, with no luck affecting it. By that I mean- each beartrap you select has it’s own certain, key, if you will. You’d normally have four jigsaw boxes. At first, you’d have a 25% chance(assuming that you want the odds to find the correct box first), 33% when you search your second one, 50% when you open your third one, and a 100% chance when you open your fourth one.
My main point is, that your box is preselected- and can be found at any time, and in any order; only if you select the correct one. When put in a statistical standpoint, the bad luck wouldn’t make any sense. (As in, bad luck offerings).
  • The Developers have addressed this. Not in the werewolf context; however, killers like Dracula, and such have been defined as “too cliché”. However, they have thought of doing a transformative killer- so this may or may not lead us in the right direction in terms of killers.
  • Can you give me a direct example? Like screenshots? I’m intrigued.

  • Auric cell packs may vary upon console. Ps4 has had many issues with this for years; in fact, here’s an article on it. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.engadget.com/amp/2017/01/26/playstation-is-still-getting-away-with-minimum-funding-charges/.
I’m unsure whether or not it is reliable, however. I’m not having issues anywhere else, such as Xbox and PC, but this may be one of these most dull answers I’ve had to write in a while.
  • First and foremost, let’s be direct.
Toxicity will exist in almost any game that is considered multiplayer. Disagreements and gloating have always been an issue; but if a player plays toxic (to annoy you) consider that when you feed them with the exact reaction they want. That reaction? This post.
