  • Why not just... have a timer on it? Maybe like a fifteen seconds timer maximum, but that would be with only the best addons.

Considering that in addition that, the killer closing the hatch will open the exit gates— personally, I welcome this change, as it has been long-needed.

We should wait until we actually have some hands on the gameplay, otherwise firsthand experience, which the PTB for such will launch tomorrow, Tuesday 23rd.

  • Groovy.

I think folks are missing the fact that it is able to happen at ALL in any game, period. That's the problem... that it's possible.

the issue is that the nurse applied inadequate map pressure, and she was just a baby. that’s why gens were done so quicky

  • Mia Winters or Claire would make me much happier.

  • Poweas is just a nice person all around.

Not a lot of credit goes to Luzi though, she’s really nice too.

  • She’s just a fun killer. I play her most of the time, but I suck at killer so I’m at high ranks. Sorry about your luck. :(

  • I honestly don’t really care about it.

It’s a second chance perk sure: but it’s just it’s issues outweigh its benefits. The aura aspect in particular; is what I’m talking about. However, that’s open to opinion.

Personally, I don’t run those perks. I run perks I think are decent and I’m comfy with, rather than something so drastically different from my playstyle.

  • Nurse is only muscle memory. She is incredibly strong due to her easy way to literally ignore pallets, and safe zones. When playing against a good nurse; it’s really hard to survive, and mindgaming hardly works.

  • Corrupt purge DOES have counterplay, stun her, and hug walls— cut off LOS. Know when to cleanse, take advantage of her charge speed mechanic, and know when to commit to a gen thats been puked on.

  • DWM. That perk just... works. It’s amazing.

"Feedback is feedback regardless. And even though it may be considered as belligerent whining, feedback is still feedback. Our crying is something that the devs really do care about— as long as it makes some sense."

Feedback is feedback. But as I said numerous times, complaint for the sake of complaining is not something I like letting slide. There is a time and place for feedback, whether it be positive or negative and THAT is what I support. But every single chance the killers or survivors have to complain they take it without looking at the facts or letting it be picked apart for counters.

"(IE, NOED, or DS), people lack awareness that you’re allowed to play the game however you see fit. If you’re on a forum, you’re expressing you’re opinions- you, as an individual, should always have the right to such."

People are allowed their own opinions yes, I won't deny them that (even if it looks like I'm trying to). I get tired of repeating myself, you know what I am going to say, I hope.

"But telling to killers to “Shut the hell up”, warrants a lack of an open mind— and that can cause issues. Even though your post talks of both sides, that’s your opinion."

I have an open mind, I've played Dead by Daylight since 2017 when it was first free for a weekend on PS4. I fell in love with the game, and since then a lot of my hours have come from playing killer, sure I'm not a veteran by any means but I'd like to believe I have some weight in any argument I bring. Yes it is my opinion, just as you have an opinion. And my opinion is that people need to learn what a proper negative feedback is, and what complaining for the sake of complaining is.

"You most likely already know; your opinion matters. But you’re not the only one, and there’s room for correction. But your interpretation is... well, opinionated, of course."

Nah, in the grand scheme of things my opinion doesn't matter. Nothing really does with me, but that's okay, I just want some thought to come out, and I accomplished that. The difference between me, and the people I am mostly speaking about, is that I do change my views with sufficient evidence. I do change my opinion once I have a good reason to. Of course there are some things I feel very strongly on, this is one of them.

"You blatantly disregard where the so called cry-babies come from, and though it may be a group of negative people, analyzing the feedback and helping is the main goal. The forum is a place of discussion and improvement; the former meaning there’s room for opinion. If you believe that we whine too much, we are likely aware."

No, I don't. I have people in mind for all this, and I do not wish for words put in my mouth. I do not wish to repeat my point, so I'll answer what I italicized (forum is really confusing, if there is a time for feedback, that would be it right now. Bring back old forum format). It is, and I've seen many good ideas, yes, positive AND negative feedback. Whining is never any good in my honest opinion.

"It’s fine— that kinda thing is normal in almost any forum you can come across. But saying that racist, and homophobic terms should be disregarded is completely, and utterly, disingenuous."

Let me respond to this with a quote of my own. "If the toxic folk decide to cuss you out, or use racist terms or homophobic language, report and move on." I never said it should be disregarded, I said to report, that thing you do when someone breaks the rules, and move on. I'm not sure about you, but I really don't care about the words some random five year old kid is saying to me behind the protection of anonymity. If words from some random person who isn't brave enough to say it to your face can get under your skin, then... ... Well I rather would not get into it. But really, the smart thing to do would be to brush it off and remember you are a trillion times better then the person who name calls.

"Words hurt. And they can stick. It’s not a sunshine and rainbows world— it’s a place that is... meh. I can agree with some parts of this post, though, saying that you’re interpretation of the community can seemingly rule final is... biased."

I've been in a fight before. Words don't hurt, physical violence hurts. I've taken a PS2 corner to the side of my head before, that hurt. Words at best, in a perfect world, should be disregarded if they are slung from some jack off who doesn't know you, who hasn't seen your face, who will never know who you are. I understand that it can be annoying, but in the end what matters is what people you know say to you, not some five year old. And of course I am biased, and I won't say I am not. My problem is, I don't know who you think I am biased against, since I brought up both sides equally. At least I think I did. Please, if you may, explain that so I may see where I went wrong.

What you did here was feedback, and that is something I appreciate. You took the time to answer me and to be kind (while also not bringing up my Legion pfp unlike someone...). If we had more people who replied like you, then this post wouldn't exist.

I completely appreciate this response. You took time to address to my concerns, analyzed what I said, and cleared my misconceptions. Although it was wrong of me to “put words in your mouth” (to which I apologize for), I just felt like it was another one of the posts that just followed the same idea that, the community itself is a bad place; which, it’s not, in my opinion. Sure, the game has its issues— but we would never have this discussion if this game never existed period, which people take for granted. Whining can be good— in some ways, but only if it’s not so much as whining, but rather constructive criticism. I frown at the sight of people saying the devs “don’t care”, as they take time to look into these posts, and have genuine nice people as CM’s, and reps who work hard everyday. When I initially read this post, if I’m being frank, it sounded as if you were speaking on behalf of the community. But after going over it a few times, I really do get where you’re coming from. I don’t like whining, or people yelling at you— it’s just childish, immature, and frankly, disappointing. There’s a reason for everything; and the name calling while childish, and blatantly ignorant, is still a huge issue, as it can be major controversy towards the game’s community; which makes me smile that someone like you, also wishes for the betterment of the community. I’m very glad we could have this conversation, and thank you for your time. And also, in the words of @brokedownpalace , “be the change you want to see in this community.”

  • Feedback is feedback regardless. And even though it may be considered as belligerent whining, feedback is still feedback. • Hey Feng! If you’d like to discuss the game itself, I highly advise you check out the game’s official discord. In a chat called #game-discussions , you can talk about it there too! I’ll give you a link.

    EDIT: Here it is! https://discord.gg/QdvRW4b

  • I’m... so lost. I don’t quite get it— Epic Games, and some of Steam Games, merge? Kinda to get to strike back on how Epic saying it’s an individual platform (which it’s not), and is ruining the quality of perfect games by only making them available there?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/55215/how-often-do-devs-designers-check-the-forums

They check it on occasion, but from what I've seen are mostly told to limit their interactions with the community as much as possible.

As any company would do— however, the community managers on occasion will forward interesting cosmetic ideas, or comment their opinion to the devs. Not_Queen is the best example of this. Designers, however, I don’t think they check the forum as frequent, and even if they did, they probably wouldn’t announce their presence, probably lurk.

  • I like the third build. In fact, we should see it in a crown.

  • Three seconds to activate the perk, within reasonable range, or release when the radius of the locker. When you do that, and the killer still walks away, but you do the head on animation, you have succesfully used the perk.

  • This would be taken advantage of. It’s a big no from me, sorry.

  • All I can imagine is that slug races would be MEGA fast.

  • People tried to spam unhook me, so I sandbagged a pallet on them. The Shape has a tomb stone piece. I’ll let you picture what happened from there.

  • Hi! Welcome to the forum. I’d advise advertising this in the official DBD discord, it will give you a much faster response.

And I completely agree with that. But it could be a temporary solution while they figure something out. And it could fix the boosted killers problem.

Temporary isn’t the way to go- permanent is a much better choice, so then all the issues with this will cease.

  • @Skellywish said:

I suppose it would be meta but it would help with end game for good killers. End game is practically game over for killers. The noed rework would actually give them a chance to turn things around.

That’s why rather than having one perk to fix the endgame, the endgame itself should be looked at.

  • @Skellywish said:

That was the idea. Most of the complaining about noed is because of totems. Noed being a hex perk was a terrible idea in itself. And I suppose it does sound a bit like devour, but once you have it you can't lose the tokens, unlike devour hope. You can actually rely on this perk if you did well throughout the match.

Then the issue with that is, that removes the counterplay. There’s no point in doing totems— I don’t think NOED needs to be relied on, as its current state, while controversial, is perfectly balanced. It gives survivors an additional pressure, and the changes you have given would make it extremely meta; and at this point, NOED should be left alone to handle bigger things, such as the endgame itself.

  • Just... cleanse? I really don’t see what the fuss is about.

  • This feels too much like Devour. Personally, I think NOED is fine as it is, and the devs have mentioned they have no interest in changing it.

Not to mention that 8 hooks would require two hooks from each survivor, and additionally, with generators, most people won’t get to you until they are done, or they chose to. And the latter is rather, unreliable.

  • Oh, then it’s fine. Just cleanse.

  • And how was NOED nerfed? Someone fill me in.

  • 🤮be sure that the survivors aren’t vaccinated

  • Here’s a discord for the community! You can find people to play with, and talk about the game!

  • Personally, when I play Jane and use that perk, some of my body parts and limbs pop out of the locker. More often than not it’s the hand or the leg.

@Watery trust me, if you play a lot of survivor and your skilled she's extremely quick to pick up. Just imagine the survivor your against is you and play accordingly.

Wow! Thanks for the advice! :)

    ^Not sarcasm, by the way.

@Watery no, if you have some decent skill, you'll be fine if you suddenly change addons. It's all about estimating how much distance the survivor covers, and blinking there. Obviously, against skilled ones, your trying to blink where you think they'll go. She's far more straightforward then people say.

She seems really hard. I get bullied everytime I play killer regardless, but when i played nurse it was ridiculous! Glad to see that there’s less to her than people say. She seems somewhat, approachable, now that you’ve said that.

  • Have a more enriching, serious experience. I feel a lot more capable when I’m playing Solo for some reason.

That's fine, but Nurse is still the strongest naked killer.

That’s right. Nurse is mainly muscle memory. If you run her with addons it makes it difficult to play her since you need to invest each time, correct?

  • just get your vaccines

I don't think you understand that it's not okay to act like a monkey and tell someone to go kills themselves etc every post game because they lost. Survivors are free to DC and do as they please

First: where on Earth did I mention that? I’m genuinely curious. Second, you don’t even need to read postgame chat, you can clearly avoid it. Third, survivors DO get penalized for DC. The banwaves have been relatively consistent as of late: you need to do your research. Oh, and don’t even bring the deranking debate into this— killers are perfectly capable of that too.

Furthermore; I am not acting like a monkey, nor am I telling you to do such actions, I’m saying this is an opportunity to reflect on your mistakes and improve. Not to say I’m a god at the game— no, no, I am okay at it. If you can’t even consider that it’s your fault that you lost, then you need to really evaluate your morals.

You can learn from this OP, you’re probably a genuinely nice person: but if you’re not even gonna try to listen to criticism (plus citing completely irrelevant, fallant claims), I, as a member of this forum, know you can improve. I am sorry for your experience, but there’s a learning curve for a reason; and though it may be difficult, let me assure you that the rewards are quite reach and satisfactory.

And if you don’t like the game? Don’t play it. That’s ultimately your choice.

    EDITTED for grammar.

  • Look: ques are inevitable. Play around SWF please and thank you— most of the actions, that the SWF May have done (ie, gen rushing, and altruism, and various other actions) all have perks that can help combat such things. CI can prevent Genrush, and encourage aggressive survivor play, but you need to stop blaming a SWF for your shortcomings and admit losing is in fact your fault. Ten minutes, is also generous, considering it takes <1 minute for survivors to find games, and <3 minutes for killers to find games. If I were you, I’d stop while I am ahead, and take a moment to reflect. If you get looped for five generators, it’s not the survivors fault; it’s yours.

The devs work on multiple chapters at a time. This leak is that, a leak and unintentional. Chapter 12 will come out 3 months from now. We are without a doubt getting an Evil Dead-themed chapter 12.

It just feels too convenient— I feel like the devs would be very careful about this sort of thing.

  • It’s way too obvious these perks are definetly bait— in my opinion. It’s way too convenient that the perks were uploaded perfectly, but Unbroken has a broken description. I’d expect themed cosmetics with basegame/pool perks, but I don’t think that the next chapter will be licensed. Queen talked of adding new pool perks during one of the dev streams.

EDIT: It’s probably a red herring; however, this topic is up to debate.

  • Perks in the basegame, like Deja Vu, Monstrous Shrine...

  • It’s probably going to be a set of pool perks with maybe themed cosmetics, a new DLC+Killer would be a lot. Especially so soon, this is likely bait- but who knows?

  • This is likely going to be a pool perk— they mentioned they were incorporating new pool perks in previous live-streams. This may be a ploy, however, I too will keep my hopes up.
