Nah. I don’t see any reason for this becoming base kit when there’s other perks than ruin that you can run to slow down the game.
Not to mention, the gen rush when two gens left would then be the topic of discussion.

A shotgun, a machete, and bait.
If yk, yk.

So tell me, when i play wraith and i go against red ranks, how should i learn to play against the infinites on Coldwind farm? There's nothing to learn, you just loose. In that case it wouldnt matter how good the killer plays, it just matters how good the survivor plays. Thats why i like to play survivor. :)
While I can understand this, I’m just saying that you can’t really win ‘em all. That expectation is just unrealistic. Additionally, there’s no shame in leaving a survivor when they go to an infinite.
I’m going to be blatantly honest; I don’t have a lot of counter-evidence to go off of, since I play Spirit at purple ranks, rather than red. But, I do see your point.

So you basically just said that killers should learn to loose, because survivors got the advantage? Claps on u.
I said BOTH sides need to learn to lose. It’s a two way street.
-
Fixated sounds like a decent perk for me since it’ll let me see where the killer can track me from.
Babysitter is good to know for whether or not to heal at the base of the hook.
Better Together can act like bond, making it so survivors being chased by the killer can run away from it.
I’d say these perks are pretty good and promote more advanced use.
With the exception of Fixated, but hey! It makes hiding a lot easier.
-
This isn’t fair to casual players at all. It’d leave a bad taste in their mouth, and make them not want to play it.
Alternative Solution:
Both sides need to learn how to play around eachothers mechanics, and not be afraid to know that they’re going to lose.
-
I’d love to see the concept art for newer skin releases.

It’s okay to be bad at this game, but admit to your shortcomings and realize sometimes, it really is your fault.

Personally? I’m all for it. :)

There was a tournament for the official discord not long ago.

What’s up?
-
Yes.
What I did was the following; filed an ingame report, took screenshots, and then went to support to file a ticket called “Add-on for support”. I’ve done it and it worked for me, not sure about the rest tho.
-
For me, it’s survivor. Let me explain.
I’ve said this over a dozen of times, but survivor is stressful for me due to my mediocre skill level despite about 455 hours. I don’t have as much stress when I play killer though; it’s weird for me. I prefer survivor due to the fact I have more fun as them, but when I play killer it’s a relatively less stressful experience for me since I just play to play.
I think a huge part of it really reflects on how you handle stress as a person. I get overloaded very easily, so killer is a role I rarely play due to how I have to micromanage various things, when survivor is just one objective, one thing to worry about(well, not really, but you get the idea) and other junk.

cleanse totems
easy fix

Where’s Plague? Probably getting her physical, then going to church afterwards.

I got selected!
-
It’s not really supposed to be balanced, though. It’s an asymmetric horror game. A powerful Killer against four survivors.
Tunneling is super necessary, true, but at the end of the day what can the devs do about it? Either way someone is going to complain.
EDIT: Misinterpretation on my part.

don’t tunnel k bye

I’m just bad lol. I play solo, and frankly, I suck. Can’t really fix it lol, even after three hundred hours. I tend to suck at most games I play, but at least I owe up to it. I’m rank ten; if a Kate or Jane was bad during the game, it may have been me. :( sorry.
I have the gamesense and all, but for some reason when I get into chase it just drops off. It all just kinda goes out the window. Hag still scares the ######### out of me, lol.
The only reason I really only go for rank 13-8 range is que times, really.
But seriously, the boosted teammates problem is an issue. Yet I don’t know how the devs would go about it other than making changes to emblems.
-
Nurse can be broken, but her addons need more attention than the Nurse’s power itself.
period.
So OMEGABLINK and other stuff is gone, because that stuff is frustrating to against.
-
I just feel like there’s ways to go around it though.
I get that SWF is annoying but the reason why I resorted to that data is because there’s different ways to look at it— but, I just wanted to say that it may not be the SWF’s fault; that’s all. I feel as if the changes aren’t necessary since you only encounter a certain survive with friends a certain percent of time; but I can understand your frustration. The only reason I think SWF nerfs aren’t necessary is purely due to the fact that they’re pretty rare; and what’s more, you can play around them. I didn’t really consider the user experience in the matter, and for that I apologize.
For the most part, I just don’t... get the frustration, really. That’s all. I don’t see the point in changing something that can be worked around; I want the solo experience to be prioritized, rather. And with the frequency to the complaints of these SWF post, maybe there is some validity to them. I apologize for any frustration I may have caused; it was just me being rash.

Exactly, its for all ranks, which means it dosen't show breakdown by specific ranks. You also mentioned that removing SWF would ruin peoples experince. But I would say SWF ruins the experince for the killer. So its ok for survivors to have a good experience but not a killer? That seems pretty typical of the logic presented to keep SWF around.
There’s a difference between killer not playing around a SWF, and a killer who will.
Just because it seems unfun now doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t work around it; but that possibility doesn’t seem to exist, for some reason. You can do plenty of things to counter SWF, because at the end of the day, if you haven’t picked up on them, that’s a you problem.
Mad Grit for Bodyblocking.
Hangman’s Trick for Sabo.
Thrilling Tremors for gen tracking AND slowing down game.
Corrupt Intervention for blocking of generators.
BBQ&C to get into chases faster.
Enduring to reduce pallet stuns.
Spirit Fury to remove pallets in general.
Lightborn or looking at a wall to counter flashlights.
Agitation for getting to hooks faster.
Thanatophobia for slowing the game down.
Bloodlust to get hits.
Iron-Maiden for counter lockers.
Bamboozle to cut off window vaults.
Rancor for a free Mori and tracking.
You have all the tools at your disposal to handle SWF.
But if you get...
- Ran around all game.
- Looped.
- Flash-light blinded.
- can’t make a hook due to body block
It’s not their fault for doing such; but it’s your duty as the killer to work around it.

The problem with that is it dosen't show concentration of SWF by rank, so its a pretty useless statistic, as I can tell you there are a lot more SWF at high ranks then anywhere else, and it only gets worse as you go down in rank. I do think a lot of it could be mitigated with better map design as well as buffs to the weaker killers, and especially remove any powers that require the survivor to give it to the killer. That is just abyssmal design.
On the contrary; that is 100% of all players; meaning, when this data was taken, it accounted for all ranks. Saying the data itself is useless is quite arbitrary; and I just want to say that killer doesn't necessarily need to kill in order to win. Sure, at higher ranks, you can resort to nurse, but SWF is much like solo players, as they only 7-10% more than solo.
While I can understand that it's annoying to deal with traps, or setup killers, but I think an easy counter to that is easily resolved with addons.
require the survivor to give it to the killer. That is just abyssmal design.
Then, killers like Michael Myers, Hag, Trapper... and a few others would have be reworked. There's a difference from being a killer that has strengths and weaknesses, but taking away all that makes the killers feel uniform, and plain. I think some buffs could be necessary, but there's plenty of places that could go wrong. Do I want some killers buffed? Of course. But saying that I want all killers to be S Tier is near impossible with the design of this game. The rest can be fixed with perks and add-ons.
There's plenty of tools at your disposal. But, be reasonable; I don't want to be 4K'd everygame, nor do I want to face a Hillbilly level Killer everygame.
Another thing about Que's; keep SWF in a normal ranked que. The system itself does not need to be seperated, as it would make que times EXTREMELY long.
Even IF it was taken out, people would attempt to get in the same lobby. And if they didn't? They leave.
SWF is fine; it was going to happen whether the community wanted it or not. But nerfing it, while sounds great on paper, ruins the experience for other players. What if... I was a casual, trying to enjoy the game with my friends? Instantly destroyed. Boring games.
It shouldn't even matter at this point as it's been stated by the devs MULTIPLE times, that they do not have any plans for the changes of SWF.
Other more important things such as game health should be on the agenda; which is the goal for this year.

@Watery Did you even read the Steam post? How could you not see it as a problem when people who use comms admit it how much of an impact it has over the game. Yes, not every swf group is a 4 man but that doesn't mean there is no impact. Nor is that acknowledging 2 or 3 man groups.
What was suggested in the post may not be perfect but it would be refined during development and tested.
To put my own input out there, the difference in difficulty at high rank between killers and swf is significant. Killers just wanna have fun (too).
Yes... I did read it.
I’m stating my opinion on the subject. I’m aware that some people see it that way, but look at it objectively.
Voice communication programs are not cheating. It would happen regardless; there’s nothing that the devs have on the agenda for it, since it’s a balanced feature.
All I did was ask if people have questioned whether or not it’s themselves, or they’re just blaming it on the game.
But let me be absolutely clear in saying this;
SWF doesn’t need to be changed. The solo experience should.
EDIT:Here’s Peanits data:
EDIT2: If you’ve noticed... Solo players take up fifty percent of the game.
You get two survivors around 30 percent of the time. Three survivors ten percent of the time. You get killer less than ten percent of the time.
I don’t see the point is this whole nerf SWF movement when other issues need to be handled. It’s not an exploit, the devs have a DISCORD for this game that you can make a SWF in.
-
Here’s the thing though;
You can’t really do anything about it. If you get destroyed by a SWF; maybe it’s a you problem. Run Lightborn if you think you’re getting blinded too much. Use Mad Grit if you think Body Blocking is an issue.
I can see what you mean by it being annoying, but there is nothing that should be done to it. As a solo player (and sometimes SWF, depends on how I’m feeling), it’s fine.
You shouldn’t penalize players working together with voice comms, because without it, this game’s que times would suffer.
Also; I feel like this needs to be said- 4-man SWF is rare. And if you think you’re getting destroyed by said groups, maybe it’s not the SWF that needs to be reworked. I don’t mean this in a bad way, of course; I’m still learning, much like everyone else is. But improvement usually starts with failure.

My first 360. It was mediocre, but damn it felt good. The killer was also really wholesome.
Wholesome killers are the best killers to play against; especially if they’re good but don’t call you trash or insults.
-
Isn’t that the point of testing? To test something that isn’t fully competent in order to receive feedback to improve?

I'd rather have new content, and it be half decent (with the forums bitching that its useless), giving some variety than one or two a year that are "community approved top tier".
Not only does more content and variety give the game more opportunity for different metas and playstyles, but if every killer were as good as you all want, survivors would cry every release and the same issues would present themselves, just on the other side of the aisle.
As a survivor-sided player, this is true. Not to say that I would cry, but to be honest, Nurse just needs her add ons to be reworked so she’s reasonable to play against. Old Legion used to have no counterplay whatsoever, which made them very frustrating to go against. Personally, I want killers to be equally as good as one another, requiring skill to get good at them, rather than a killer be overpowered with no level of counterplay on the other side. I’d love to go against other killers, because to be honest, I haven’t played against a Hag or a Pig in what has felt like ages.
But, I don’t want survivors to be OP either, yknow? I just want this game to have a higher skill ceiling on both ends, and have more variety than the same stuff over and over. I don’t want a new DS by any means either, but OP saying the last killers were rushed is an overstatement. I can say maybe Legion was rushed, but that’s it. But even that’s stretching it. I think the ideas the devs were going for exist; but they don’t seem to hit the mark due to how survivors play around said abilities. With love and attention to the other killers, that is great; but it seems gamehealth is primarily on the agenda.
Plus, I don’t feel like waiting four months for new content. The game would get too old, too soon.
-
@MedicSpirit7 From what I’ve seen, it flows pretty well. Kate’s hair doesn’t make her helicopter anymore, which is great.
It may look stiffer, but the hair is fuller, and has higher detail. Feng’s long hair is now actually decent looking, which is something I’m very excited for.
EDIT:I’ll get more Claudette hair pictures, but it may take a bit due to work and such.
-
I’d trip and get mori’d everytime.
In other words; I’d usually be the first to be sacrificed.
But that doesn’t mean I can’t backhand a killer maybe once just to see what happens.
-
To whomever it may concern;
Let me just play Devil’s Advocate here. Think of it this way— some ideas are better on paper than in exposition. Some buffs to perks on PTB that never went through are an example of this.
Secondly; if you do encounter a bug, you should go to the bug reports section of the forums (or send a log to support) to fix said bug.
While I can understand where you’re coming from, do understand that BHVR is the owner of the game and may develop it to their own agenda; and they do accept feedback. If you feel as your experience is lack-luster; explain why.
Fog Whisperers do not get paid by BHVR at all- (with the exception of new content)and sometimes, they even relay their own criticisms on Stream. Fog Whisperers are influencers in the community who help generate hype and maybe hand out some codes (for DLC’s from what I have seen); but that is it.
However, let me state this much; I’m not affiliated with the company. So some things I say (especially in terms of development and Fog Whisperers) should be taken with a grain of salt.
-
Are there any plans for graphical improvements of the game (particularly) engines? If so, what’s the goal for this year?
-
I got used to it, but yes. If you don’t cleanse though, that NOED part is on you.
EDIT:Mobile is gross.
-
There’s bias in everything; you can’t fix that. The best thing is to look at post objectively, and answer to the best of your ability.
I try my best to play both sides; I play a lot of Spirit and Huntress, and I main Jane and Kate on the survivor-side of things.
Topics as such as “SWF Treatment” cannot be looked at without bias— as truly it’s a matter of opinion. There’s data about SWF, but that is... completely up to interpretation. Rather than using relative experience in my case, I try my best to base my opinions on facts. I can be a bit survivor sided, and both sides’ claims can be very outlandish, the standoff-ish nature of this game is due to the fact that when you play it, you usually like one side more than the other.
-
I’ll pass. The current perk system is good as is— plus, it could be incredibly unbalanced is some situations. You could run Self-Care, DS, Dead Hard, Vigil... and so forth. I like the four perks system because it limits your abilities. For example, you can only have four perks. What you’re suggesting is a 16 perk system that over complicates the game and would make meta builds much easier to run; and you could stack them, as well.
I see where you’re coming from, but some ideas are better on paper than exposition. I’d prefer more basegame before we make changes to the amount of perks each side could run, but for now, by no means should they be hindered.

STEALTH.
It feels like nobody considers this as a method of avoiding her anymore. She’s super slow, so if you feel as if Nurse is coming— HIDE. Searching as her can take ages. Perks like Spine Chill, Premonition, and other items such as Blood Amber for a key exist as well.
-
I’m going to play devils advocate here.
Not only is this system you mentioned incredibly restrictive, but blocking communication programs in general is absurd. Just deal with SWF, four mans are incredibly rare according to the data released earlier this month.
Not to mention, this would not work on Console.
SWF is okay. It’s not in a great spot, sure— but it’s better than other things that need fixing.
Also; it could probably be avoided relatively easily, so restricting communication would ruin the casual experience.
-
I believe there’s an app called “DBDR” on the App Store that lets you generate builds from your phone.
-
You don’t need to escape to pip, you know. If you’re feeling like the gates are too close together, you have a few solutions.
- Accept the fact that you’re going to die.
- Run Wake-Up.
- Bring a Key.
- When last survivor dies, go towards an exit gate. If the killer seems to be standing at the hatch to close it, bring left behind.
Granted the distance can seem a little tight at times, but personally, I haven’t had this issue much.
Edit: Also, if you do all the stuff you’ve said you’ve done (such as gens, totems, saves, etc.) You should pip. If you play through said matches enough, you won’t encounter said “randoms that suck” as frequently.
Here’s my pipping chart for details.
4=Iridescent Emblem
3=Gold Emblem
2=Silver Emblem
1=Bronze Emblem
EDIT2: If you would like a extensive guide on each emblems requirements, I can make it: but it will take a few hours. Otherwise, I’d refer to the DBD wiki for details.
