Hay gamers i love playing DBD along with some other games but i dont have enough people to play with alot of the time when im on so i figured that i would make this post for anyone else who may want to join my discord server.
Here’s the DBD official Discord link: https://discord.gg/hFyrFez
There you can find people to play with! Hope this helps.
-
And there’s another deranking discussion involving fog whisperers.
-
Huntress already has iridescent heads.
-
There’s a twitch streamer; his name is Geistra. You should watch him! He’s really funny.
-
Be sure to adhere to proper instructions, try to keep the clips concise and relevant to what you are trying to appeal.

The devs acknowledge the reception of legion, but that shouldn’t cause far too many issues in terms of numbers. The number you listed, 27%, while drastic, is only temporary— the release of new content tends to keep players well, playing. I’d anticipate a surge of players on the release of DOTF (Demise of the faithful), and then within a month or two, those numbers may falter, and slightly drop— but one thing is certain, due to trends of the release of each chapter (every three months, or seasonally according to the roadmap), with the edition of outfits, events, which will all cause an increase in numbers in players— take the Lunar New Year Event. With the constant push for updates, and constant feedback (one of the uses of the PTB Survey, and also the forums itself), the feedback should be relatively immediate.
-
It’d be nice to have a QiPao for someone next Lunar New Year event, or a cheongsam.

She also gets on her tippy toes to vomit. Makes me giggle.

Did you try stridor with predator? It's extremely good on Spirit :) Very underrated combo.
Very underrated. You should put whispers on spirit too.

As a person with emetophobia, I completely understand where you are coming from.
In order to counter such, try associating the sludge with, sludge. (See what I did there?)
And eventually you’ll get used to it.
-
SWF and playing with friends is always going to happen. Hence, the implantation of the SWF mode, because regardless, people would always try to que up at the same time in order get in the same game.
The devs have acknowledged this multiple times. There’s absolutely nothing they could do. Plus, you need to consider the more casual consumer— they’ll play for fun. Not to mention SWF distinct playstyle (AKA ultra altruistic), and though I hate saying it, some of the issues you face are something only you can fix. Try to play around the SWF playstyle— face walls or objects to avoid blind, etc.

NOED is now....
Balanced.
Just cleanse, seriously— you can prevent it beforehand.
-
Can’t people just cleanse? Seriously.

If you get looped for five gens, that’s a you problem.

And now seriously… I get all your calculations… but please tell me what is actually WRONG about this?
The killer in you example spent TWO perks to get that effect.
And you expect them to run a third perk (NC) to make it "all so easy".
Are you aware that Sloppy already applies mangled? It's not like you can stack that.
You are talking about a 3 perk build that is DEDICATED to make healing difficult.
And you always use the numbers from FOUR injured survivor, which is a very unlikely case.
Sorry, but to me that stuff is actually balanced. Your fictional killer gave 3 out of 4 perkslot to make this work and still there is a lot of situational stuff in your calculations (4 injured, right?). And you still want to deny the killer the effects he actually paid for because of… what?
Survivor entitlement?
"But it is unfair"?
I don't see your point.
Not at all survivor entitlement. 16+22.57 is 38.57. You’re better off doing gens, which brings us back to the issue with gen rush. Do you want to have survivors constantly attack gens, and pop them, and play through the games that no one likes to play through? The perks make people push away from healing— making them run adrenaline, and not to mention that not all survivors have to be injured for pretty high calculations to be there.
I was citing examples, not restricting my entire answer to this. Thanatophobia + Any other action regression perk is nuts. I play Killer from time to time, yes, and I do play survivor, but look at it from an objective standpoint.
I want the endgame to be addressed, and I want gen rush to stop. It’s annoying to deal with— I can tell by DC’s. The killer ends up increasing the already huge issue that is gen rush. Not to mention the unnecessarily long games one may go through.
Why is that relative to Thanatophobia? See Peanits (a community moderator with well over thousands of hours on the game), and hop on the DBD discord to discuss it in game discussions. It may feel that the nerf to Thanatophobia was truly unnecessary- nor am I sure as to why that change happened, but it surely happened for a decent reason.
-
@Wolf74 said:
Please explain to me what is "sensible" about that answer?
The calculation is about the killer picking TWO perks to slow down healing and Thana at MAX effect with all 4 survivor injured.
And the survivor is using SELF CARE in this example.
So it's the most favorable situation for the killer with the slowest way to heal (without Botany Knowledge or a med kit, etc.).
And THAT is the reason for a buff to a super weak perk not making it through the PTB?
Sensible? Serious?
Here’s some math for you.
Survivors heal at 50% speed using selfcare, and 100% using a medkit.
Now, with the individual percentages, if we factored in PTB Thanatophobia with Sloppy, that’s a fourty seven percent decrease in speed, rendering medkits to be near the equivalent of selfcare, and making selfcare take much longer.
factor in the fact that Thanatophobia affects all actions— how would your gameplay be if everything you did only had 80% of the normal amount of charges you would apply?
It’s clear that Thanatophobia is counteracted slightly by Resilience, however, at a max of nine percent. If you’re going to change Thanatophobia, you’re going to change resilience.
Thanatophobia 2.6 PTB wouldn’t work with the already long healing time, and if you run nurses calling, it’s an easy find.
EDIT: Oh, and here’s some more math.
Healing a survivor takes 16 seconds, from one health state to another— Sloppy and thanato (according to my calculations which may be flawed), will take 22.57 seconds.
This is why it’ll never make it live— it’ll make insta heals even more of a problem. It’ll also make Nurses Calling stronger than it already is, and on ranged killers, that is a powerful tool.
EDIT2:Also, have you even considered addons that Mangle and Hemmorage? What about the Adrenaline issue killers face? If this perk becomes the way it was listed, there’s going to be a world of problems. I understand that you’re upset the perk wasn’t buffed, but there may have been some reasoning as to why the changes occurred. If you’d rather have genrush and adrenaline survivors than an actual engaging game, you do you. But no one is going to find that fun.
-
Le shrug. Scouting isn’t really that effective, but I can see how that’s a problem.
-
Just make your profile private.
You can’t block your name since it’ll have issues with reporting, Id think.
-
Just my take on it: It's not good for gameplay. With the PTB values and combined with sloppy butcher, it would take a survivor ~57 seconds to self care. That's almost an entire generator's worth of time.
"That's great, though," you might say. But what ends up happening is much like what you're seeing now. Because healing takes so long, you're much better off doing generators instead and waiting for adrenaline to heal everyone. To which you might say, "But the generators would be 24% slower." While true, that adds about 20 seconds per generator (solo).
Added time to generators: 20 x 5 = 100
Time spent healing: 57 x 4 = 228
Worth noting that you might and probably will get hit more than once, so you'd have to repeat that for each time you get hit. Take your pick, would you rather spend an extra 100 seconds on generators *and* get healed, or an extra 228+ on healing and then still have the generators to deal with?
On the surface it seems like a great idea, but it's further encouraging not healing and instead doing generators as fast as possible, which I think is something we can all agree isn't fun.
That was Peanits’ reply to a thread similar to this.
-
I’m going to paste Peanits response from this.
-
The thought is nice, however, the PTB is meant to be glitchy and a WIP. Updating it would be a chore altogether, and it would likely won’t be verified on either consoles due to the major issue with company approval. Not only that, but migrating your save files from one game (vanilla) vs the other one (PTB) isn’t happening.
-
It’s not healthy for gameplay. Healing yourself will take 57 seconds, and will be increasingly harder to pull off due to the healing noise, and moans if you aren’t running iron will.
Some ideas are better on paper than they are in exposition.
-
Do whatever you want! It’s fine to take breaks. I feel as if the gameplay can feel stale, but... on the bright side, you’ll have new DLC to come back to. If you need to get updated, stop by the discord, and check #dbd-announcements.
We’ll be waiting for you; enjoy whatever you’re going to play. You’re not required to play the game if you don’t feel motivated to.

a hug

Yall should probably look at OP’s name. Just sayin’.

That’s an iridescent perk, apparently. On the wiki it’s fine. They probably have fixed it by now.

Oh my god— I’ve never been downed so quick. She read me and my teammates like BOOKS. All four of us were done, and only one generator was done.
We all died— no one pipped.

20 seconds base.

It sounds like a good idea! Though I’m not sure about Remorse however, as the perk counters the already lack of gens being done— especially during events. Love the idea though.

Umh, most of the cosmetics are paid, there are a very few which are the ones they launched on the beggining when the store just launched that you can get by playing.
Then explain the bloodshards, and how cosmetics are not important to gameplay whatsoever.

Thanks for the comment, but the Charity Case wasn't in their control at all. They originally couldn't do it because Sony and Microsoft wanted a cut out of it and said no. But apparently things changed. Nothings impossible. I'm hopeful.
The issue with this is, the comparison is valid. The only reason the charity case made it to console was because that it was for charity, and was meant to donate to Brain & Behavior Research Foundation, which meant that it was only for charity, and all of the items within that case are original. However, when talking of L4D, that is Valve’s property; and if they don’t wish for Bill to be out on console, with the cosmetics, so be it. Not to mention the fact that the red hand cosmetics that Claudette or Dwight (I think), would not be able to be received since it requires the cloud database, and most games (especially in the context of Xbox), do not have L4D readily available for purchase in the Xbox1 store, making the user have to go to an entire other database for it. The cosmetics are too little (especially since they’re for only four survivors) and since there’s no other killer, there’s no point in all the effort for something so minimal. The main focus of Console should be optimization, and making sure DLC comes out on time (which has been relatively good, however, UK has had some trouble), and it should be taken as more of a “want” rather than a “need”— with the addition of how touchy Microsoft and Sony are in terms of updates, more often than not, this matter should be left unattended. You may feel that you’re disadvantaged because you’re on Console in terms of cosmetics, however, that’s just what they are— cosmetics. No importance to gameplay whatsoever.

They do have their own. In the lobby. Maybe they could have their own running animations but that's about it. But it's really only a quality of life thing. So I doubt we'll get it.
Fair point!

As cool as it sounds, I doubt the devs are going to make that. It takes probably to much time
It likely does, which is probably why they’ve stuck with the same one.

Survivors are just “skins” the only thing unique about them is the way they look or their cosmetics.
I was thinking about that too sometime ago but I’m afraid it probably won’t ever happen. Maybe though!!
They are just skins— true.

yes, but thats asking too much to DBD devs
It is, I know— but I’d like to open up the topic on survivor animations, since people were talking about killers in a few posts.
EDIT: some bad word choice
-
500 auric cells for killer and survivor individually, 1000 if brought separately, and 9,000 shards individually, 18,000 for entire DLC,
and the dlc pack costs 8.00, like most.

The simple fact that you thought that my post was referring to you, is proof enough that it does. So it appears that you are the “narrow minded” person here.
Don’t even. Just because you’ve had some bad experience doesn’t mean that you’re only going to have bad experience. The post is opinionated, you need to expect opinions. A narrow mind is okay, but you need to stop tearing each ones apart and respect one another; it’s a forum, for DISCUSSION.

Soon.
-
Kate, but in a citygirl outfit.
Feng, but with a oversized T-shirt and sweats.
Meg, formalwear.
-
Lockers, basic mindgames.
It’s not that hard.
EDIT:Ruin is easy to hit... it’s just a great skill check. It may be a minor inconvenience, but you’re teammates may go totem hunting at the start.
-
Anniversary cosmetics that are either their concept arts or formal wear.
-
Sometimes it feels like people read the “stun” aspect of the perk and nothing else. Head on is situational at best, and pales in comparison to other exhaustion perks. It takes three seconds to trigger, which is actually a lot of time. It encourages locker plays, which I like personally, but you’d have to adapt a playstyle around the perk in order to get the best use of it.
-
Can’t relate— that’s just you’re opinion. I play a solo all the time, and it’s much more enjoyable than SWF— from a gameplay standpoint. I usually mess around if it’s a SWF, but when I have a group like that, I usually go to KYF.
-
Game design, hello? Asymmetrical Horror Game. You’re not supposed to communicate (at least from it’s initial standpoint), to generate a feeling of distrust amongst survivors, since each person has their own playstyle, goals, and morals— all of which affect gameplay in some way.
Plus, if you’re on Console you have party systems, and if you’re on PC you have Discord.
communications aren’t necessary, I play solo on PC and I’ve turned out just fine thus far.
-
Valve, wants a PC exclusive, it’s likely going to stay a PC exclusive. And since DBD is ran on Steam (Valve’s game store), they would be okay with it. Different story if you wanted it on console, namely due to the fact that Left For Dead 1 and 2 are unavailable for purchase on the Xbox One- making the cosmetics it grants (red hand shirts) unreachable. The DLC overall wouldn’t work since it requires compliance from Microsoft, and Sony— which can take ages, but also due to the fact that it would take way too much effort and resources to only send out a survivor that everyone has the perks for, and cosmetics which really aren’t that great.
-
The DLC isn’t necessary. The art teams direction and the programming teams direction are two, completely different teams, meaning they have their own objectives. The cosmetics don’t need to be paid for, in fact, some of these can be earned through playtime. It’s only a means of saving it up— but most of these items won’t affect gameplay, making it a want feature, rather than a need.

Kate’s blue shirt set has the description “Just a small town girl living in a lonely world.” So I wouldn’t be suprised if there was some Easter eggs.
