Yep, they couldn't just nerf the addons, they had to nerf legion and buff BT, one of the strongest survivor meta perks there is. Now it has no counterplay at all!

if stealth killers didnt abuse this to camp no one would complain
Counterplay is an abuse? I'm sorry, I thought for a game to be balanced abilities needed some way to be countered?

Nope it was confirmed by @Almo in some thread. I honestly do not remember where but if you ask one of the legion mains nicely maybe @UlvenDagoth had a screenshot of it. That was why they changed it, due to the top mending times with the two blades.
Can Confirm, I was there when the post was made.

BHVR just rework Legion or just ######### delete the Killer and give us the Money back LUL. Imagin you sell a DLC for REAL MONEY for a character that is by FAR the weakest! Same goes to leatherface but atleast he has BBQ.
And an actual power, even if its bad.

An upcoming change.

Even with the speed changes?
Even with, its still too little time to really get anything going.
-
It's a nerf. Its on a cooldown, and you no longer get to find survivors for free. He will be worse.

But that’s the whole point?!?!
Isn’t it?!?!
Stop survivors from engaging in any other action (other than running) because DW/Mending cannot ignored, meaning that’s also time they cannot assist their teammates.
I can’t believe after all this time there are still players that expect they’re actually meant to achieve downs with FF.
On average, it takes me more then 12 seconds to reach another survivor. Therefore I am wasting my own time trying to stab another survivor while the other has mended. I am not making anytime since I can't apply mangled on hit anymore. So the slow down is negligble, and is potentially only a single hit and me losing that survivor and them being healed before I can find them again.

That's right, Balanced Landing now needs a buff or rework.
With the recent release of the Cursed Legacy chapter, Balanced Landing was tweaked to no longer give the stagger reduction when exhausted. It also removed the noises made when falling and the grunt when landing.
The thing is that the nerf heavily outweighs the buff. Balanced Landing is now the worst exhaustion perk in the game and one of the worst perks in the entire survivor selection. The perk is straight up useless when exhausted, no longer providing a passive.
Now that the nerf is officially in place, the perk needs a buff or rework. What I'm thinking is that the perk should give the stagger reduction and remove the noises made when falling, but the exhaustion aspect of the perk should be completely removed. It is Balanced Landing after all, and only being able to balance your landing once every 40-60 seconds completely contradicts the name. The description of the perk literally says you have cat-like reflexes. Cats don't have a cooldown on stabilizing their landing. Just remove the exhaustion part of the perk and Balanced Landing will be a viable perk again.
Lets see perks that are worse for survivors then the new BL...Detective's Hunch. Flip Flop. Buckle Up. Windows of Opportunity. Poised. Diversion. Streetwise. Up the Ante. Open-Handed. Left Behind. No-Mither. Wake-Up. Stake-Out. Babysitter.

Just because the survivors try not to group up, doesn't mean it's never going to happen. There are only so many scenarios where all of your teammates can be spread out enough that Legion can't chain any hits together.
Plus, before these changes, the buttons were completely useless, no matter how the survivors played. They forced you to do something that you should never do as Legion.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/888577#Comment_888577
You are the one who started an argument. You chose to escalate it and antagonize me every time I replied to you. I simply reciprocated your behavior after I started to get fed up with it.
Buttons should do it on first hit though to make sure they actually do something though.

I think this is an improvement because at least now you can hit survivors. Because you could have all the stalling add-ons in the world but they're useless unless you actually hit them. Also it helps to think of frenzy as no more than just an M1 attack.
Thinking its more then an M1 attack dosen't make it so. Its so much less now.

Mend, run, or be within the TR, which most survivors stop mending by then so they can safely hide, knowing DW won't go down.
Hell, back even before this if you went to try and go after another survivor you would often just hear them starting to mend as soon as you turned your attention away. Thats only going to get worse now. Why would anyone play Legion knowing they do nothing right now?

I disagree, old freddy wasn't able to protect totems or whatever he had to wait until the survivor was "sleeping" i do know what you mean with the transition and everything but that didn't change the fact that he had huge downsides when he was not able to even interact with the survivor.
Legion was always made fun of right from the start and rightfully so. Do you remember Samnation DBD Parody 5? Wraith told him to gtfo and stand in the corner before writing "NO" on his face.
I really have no idea why somebody would want to play legion? He has nothing going for him like literally every other 115% killer has a way superior power.
Some people just like thier style. But ya know, it would be nice if they had an actual power I agree.

Legion is easily the worst in the game, They are a glorified M1 killer. In fact at this point using M1 might be better then FF since of the ridiculous cool down on it.

This was not to buff BT, but to nerf Legions Slowdown-Potential. The BT-Buff is a side-effect, but not the aim of this.
Then why didn't they just nerf the addons?
-
They don't care about Legion and I feel liike they wished they never made them. If they didn't cost money I bet they would just remove them from the game. I mean they practically did....they are just a M1 killer with a speed buff and then a MASSIVE cooldown. And not even because they can't apply on hit effects with FF anymore.
-
This is a pretty good idea for a rework I think

I could also say the same if X killer injures a survivor.
Legion gets free hits, free map pressure and free information.
Legion is also small making them relatively hard to mindgame.
Legion does not have map pressure, the ability dosen't last long enough even with add ons and the massive cooldown prevents any kind of chase potential.
-
@twistedmonkey said:
This doesnt change Legion at all as it was TR based so even after a FF hit they could sprint, walk, crouch etc within it.
As for the others well its to stop the undetectable effect from being able to cheese a down which made that staus the same as the old moon walking legion scenario.
At least they have to be running leaving scratch marks.
Actually it does because now you can't apply on hit effects to at least do something after the mending is over, so combined Legion is useless. A glorified M1 killer, who is even worse then that.
-
Its 12 seconds, or 8 if healed by another person. If Legion hits one survivor by the time he finds another survivor the other survivor will likely already have mended.

I'm done with these game for awhile. Unnecessary nerfs for legion that make them literally a no power killer. Nerfs for Oni to reduce his power right out of the gate. BT getting buffed when its already one of the strongest perks in the game. These devs only learn for a little bit before suddenly reversing course and making just random, strange, and illogical choices.

Legion most likely won’t be looked at til mid to late 2020 because the devs are first going to look at doctor and leatherface. Plus with the recent “legion changes” which was just a nerf thought of in two seconds might serve as an excuse for legion to not be looked at for a while. Maybe by luck they’ll get a proper change soon but I wouldn’t keep too high hopes.
Yep. "These addons are a problem, what should we do?" "Make mending times shorter so it nerfs Legion and buffs BT." "Brilliant!"

Is waiting not a counterplay? Is not being near the hook not counterplay? Is simply hitting the healthy guy not counterplay?
Healthy from whose perspective? If I see someone or see scratch marks near the hooks, why would I just leave? Its this kind of attitude that some survivors have that killers doing thier best to win should be following thier rule book. News flash: There is no rule book. And everything should have counter play, on both sides.

I would have an awesome counter, not camping
So another perk forcing the killer to do what the survivors want instead of actual counter play, got it.

Okay but it would be the same thing with a distance based change
I think it would be worse then, as at least with some killers and perks you can hide your terror radius to counter it. If it was changed to distance it would have no counters at all.
-
I agree, the nerf to her basekit was unecessary and weakens her power and her fun. But shes fun to play against now for survivors as they can juke her far more easily and tea bag while your fatiguing and waiting for a blink to come back. And thats the people who its important to have fun in this game. Killer's are here so the survivors can have fun, not for themselves to do so. *sarcasm*

It seems like everyone is quick to call something toxic. Some of the dumb ones to me are.
1) looping- what are the survivors suppose to do. I get that its annoying but I don't see it as toxic.
2) body blocking- this isn't toxic either. You are saving your teammate by sacrificing your health. Just hit em. I don't understand this one.
I think people like to label things as toxic and nobody understands the meaning of it anymore just like how everyone does not understand the meaning of tunneling anymore because what people will do now is if the killer goes after the same person before he downs and hooks somebody else its apparently tunneling. For those who may not know, tunneling is when the killer refuses to go after anybody else except for you. No, just because you were unlucky and the killer happens to find you again after they left you doesn't mean they are tunneling
I'm not sure looping is exactly toxic, but saying its what you're supposed to do is silly. Its exploiting a hit box difference between the killer and survivors that wasn't there when the game first launched. Killers loose speed around objects because the survivor can turn them more effeciently. I don't even know why they changed the hit box in the first place, but now we are stuck with that mistake because the devs have little foresight and rarely revert things unless they break the actual game.
-
Yep, more nerfs for killers that don't need them.
-
Killers and survivors having the same hit boxes so looping wasn't a thing. Survivors dying on hooks quicker.

they'll probably remove the ability to stop vaults and pallet Throws
Which will remove a lot of his power. If that happens the devs are losing me again for awhile. I'm tired of already weak killers getting nerfed and strong killers getting over nerfed.
-
I don't have faith in behavior to not give him more nerfs to 'compensate' for his buffs.
-
I hate it when I get the survivor grab animation but then it lets them go and I don't even get a hit for my trouble.

@SkeletalElite said:
That's just true of any pvp game. If you were playing solo and knew you were going to be going against a premade in CS or R6 and could dodge with no consequence you probably would. Premade are inherently more likely to have better teamwork than randoms matched with each other.
Except those games where designed for people to use communication and be in premade groups. This one was not.

I think shards would be a good reward. Like @Reyla says, BP because pretty pointless after a certain point.

"I don't want DS to be gone, I just want it deactivated after I hook another survivor."
You want DS nerfed to the point of being useless to make the game easier for you. Just admit you would rather have a survivor standing around doing nothing and you'll feel a lot better.
Its not useless that way. It would actually be an anti-tunnel perk then. Maybe you need to admit you just want the 60 seconds of immunity instead of it being an anti-tunnel perk?

You really think hook suicides is enough to skew data 15/20%? Even so kill rates across the board would stll be above 50%
And you have to accept how ridiculous it would be to "cut out hook suicides" how do you think you reliable do that? If somone lets go 5 seconds before they die, that's a hook suicide, if they let go at any point it's a hook suicide.
Again, killers want these stats to be as thin as possible which is laughable, they removed DCs, now it's hook suicides, next it'll be games with less than 5 gens done.
Insane, it is you whom can't face reality, also do you have a source on "the stats aren't accurate" I'd be very interested in reading that.
Actually, what I want is for emblems to be reworked so that if 2 kills is the average, expected result of most matches, that I pip regularly for doing that. But normally I need 3 or more to be able to get that. Especially if someone DCs, or if (which is unusual), I do too well and kill everyone too fast. Like I don't want the old killer cube back, that was horrible. But I want something better then what killers have. I find it much MUCH easier to pip as a survivor and I don't even need to survive. Get an unhook, do a gen, get chased by the killer; BAM pip'ed!

I see more people DC over a killer that camps, slugs, or tunnels, that I do just because they don't like the killer. You and other killers can cut down tremendously on this by simply not doing those things. Additionally if killers stopped tunneling, camping, and slugging, MANY perks you complain about wouldn't be used anywhere near as much as they are today.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/878826#Comment_878826
You may as well just say "How dare a survivor want to do anything else but be chased by me!"
Sorry, I will not follows the Survivor's big book of rules for killers. And I am aware of what survivors want to do. But this is a competitive game, and its not like I have survivors bending over backwards to give me hooks. So I am going to do everything in my power to win, and get called sweaty for it, and be fine with that. And when it comes down to it, I don't want DS to be gone, I just want it deactivated after I hook another survivor.
-
Well if Nurse and Spirit and Legion are any indication, they have one problem that gets fixed...and then a bunch of unecssary nerfs on top of that for good measure. So freddy needs some addons fixed. They will, and more nerfs for no reason will be heaped on top of him. Or they will find some strange way to nerf him to fix the addons instead of changing the addons themsevles. This team's way of 'balancing' things is extremely alien logic to me.

Failing? you're kidding right? Killers are designed to catch and hook survivors already. So a survivor runs you around for 30 seconds, a minute 2 minutes and you finally catch them, They failed? they did what they could against a character that is designed to catch them. DS is in to deter you from doing it again to the same person. You choose to go after them, you deserve to be DS'd.
Yes, how dare you try to take someone out of the game to help you win?
-
Yeah, he needs to start with all of his traps so he can begin setting up as soon as the game begins instead of having to waste time going from one corner of the map to the other and lose gens the entire time he is just trying to be able to start playing.
-
Yeah. it is really dumb. Its been a thorn in killer's sides since the beggining. And yes survivors know what they are doing; give a gamer something to exploit and they will run to the other side of the world with it. I would love to see them change it.
