"I just think they should consider the minority"
You do know what the minority is...right? Like, the actual definition of "minority"? If the vast majority of players aren't having issues, why would they even consider the small group of people who are complaining about something? If they change it, they be upsetting the majority and catering to the minority, which is not something anyone should do in any business, especially video games. If it's not seen as a problem to the majority, then it won't get changed. That's how it works, sis.
If you ignore or oppress the minority I consider that pretty bad personally. Just because you are a minority doesn't mean you don't deserve a say, rights, and such.

Addons should increase a killers power, not be mandatory to even function.
I wish BHVR realized this. How are they so good and so bad at making a game at the same time? I still think they are extraterrestrials

We respond to as much as we can, but we aren't watching only the forums around the clock. Odds are if a post is disrespectful or outright insulting, it's not going to get a response. There's a fine line between constructive criticism and insults, and the latter is not how you have a conversation with another person.
As far as the basic attack change goes, it's the same as the Pig. It's to create consistency between powers so it's easier to understand what a basic attack is and what works with it. Previously, it was a bit of a mess. Something like Sloppy Butcher would work, but NOED would not. Both activated on basic attacks, but both were treated differently with Feral Frenzy. Not only is this less confusing for someone new to the game, but it also makes it much easier for us to balance.
As for mending, previously it was too easy to get stuck in an endless loop of mending (with mending times of up to 20 seconds). This left people mending most of the time which isn't exactly thrilling gameplay. There's no interaction between the killer and survivor there.
The movement speed, vault speed, and pin changes were all common requests.
Regardless, the changes have only been out for a little over a day at this point, so we'd like to see what kind of effect they have before making knee jerk reactions.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/890425#Comment_890425
We've also commented on similar threads about that exact same thing- it's not coming back because people use it to dodge lobbies. It was never intended to come back.
20 seconds dosen't seem all that bad to me to be honest. And again, why weren't the addons just changed? Why was Legion given nothing to down survivors with in place of having very little slow down now (so little its actually inefficient to go try and chase another survivor with feral frenzy), or some kind of slow down that mattered besides deep wounds?
-
I don;t think its all about greed, but I think it has tainted the original vision. They said they wouldn't release any cosmetics at first. They did. And then they said they wouldn't release anything that affected the atmosphere of the game and make it silly. They have. They are still passionate, but they have compromised their vision in the name of profit. I also feel like having no competition has gone to their heads, as you could see in the anniversary stream it felt like me as a lot of self back patting and self congratulation. I'm not saying they don't have things to be proud of, but it often clouds their vision and what the game actually needs in terms of health and balance.
-
I would rather control of where your legion's ended up be in the players hands rather then random.

Tbh i dont understand why are you complaining...
They gave survivors some good perks, Oni is their best killer they came out in the past 12 months, completely agree with you on the toxicity and the fact that disconnecting is the #1 issue right now.
Sorry to break it down to you, but every single company on planet earth loves money more than their players, you either accept it or leave the gaming world.
Its this kind of attitude that causes so many of the problems in the gaming community. We should hold them accountable and stop just handing money over because "Its just the way it is." Accepting things leads to a lack of progress and change.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/889171#Comment_889171
Well, that's the thing. A large portion of the community considers this to be a buff, not a nerf. And a large portion of the community didn't consider Legion to be the worst killer. A lot of people consider Leatherface, Clown and/or Wraith to be worse. You seem to be making the classic mistake of believing that most people think the same way you do.
They are listening to feedback. Feedback clearly factors heavily into many of their decisions, like the decision to change how Deep Wounds interacts with the Terror Radius, or the decision to reduce the difficulty of the Tome challenges. But, again, you seem to have this notion that because they didn't do exactly what you wanted them to do, it was a bad change.
Feedback is always valuable, but if you expect them to always act upon your feedback and give you the exact changes you wanted, you're setting yourself up for disappointment. And if you expect them to act upon your feedback when you spew hyperbole and make an "I quit" post every time things don't go just the way you wanted them to, don't be surprised when the developers get reluctant to take you seriously.
When you view even the slightest nerf as "Getting gutted/nerfed to the ground", even when they give the character several buffs in many other areas, you have nobody to blame but yourself if you get upset. And it tells the developers that nothing will satisfy you, short of breaking the game to favor you exclusively. Be honest, would you have ever been happy with anything but buffs? Would you be happy with buffs if they weren't the exact buffs you wanted? It certainly doesn't seem that way.
And do you really know what you're asking for when you say that they need to remove Deep Wounds entirely, and create a whole new mechanic exclusive to Legion? As I said before, reworks take a long time. Months, at the bare minimum. The Freddy rework took almost two years. If you want changes to happen immediately, then you'll have to be satisfied with small tweaks.
Do you know what it looks like when the developers listen to player feedback more than their own intuition and knowledge? It looks like the current mobile gaming market. Everyone just does whatever will get them the highest rating on the app store, and whatever gets them the highest survey scores. Nobody tries anything new, nobody cares about making a quality product, everyone copies everyone else, every game plays the same way, and great games essentially don't exist. Finding even a halfway decent title on the app store (Which isn't just a port of an old game, mind you) is like finding a needle in a haystack.
But at any rate, you're really starting to take an aggressive tone again, so I'm not going to indulge your emotional outbursts any longer. My advice still stands: The sooner you accept that nerfs and buffs come and go, and you're not always going to get the exact changes you want, the better off you'll be mentally. Grow some backbone. Embrace change.
Large part? You have numbers for this? Cause it sounds like some people think this is a buff, but we don't know that. Same with the number of people who think it is a nerf. Its some. You're making misleading statements.
-
Yep, more killer nerfs incoming too. I'm done with this game for a bit, the devs are starting to regress. Like not saying survivors haven't gotten nerfs, but they either aren't that strong or where fixing game breaking things. Like instadowns aren't as bad, except the purple one is pretty much the same as it was, just a different way it activates. They made balanced landing consistent. But survivor nerfs usually take time, while killer nerfs are quick and without thought a lot of times. We did get one nice rework, but hes already on the radar, and thats going to be 4 killers nerfed in less then 3 months. Holy #########.
-
I think it needs a little more. The teleport is nice for map presence, but they need some lethality. Maybe if a survivor goes by a locker with a legion in it they should trigger them and have a chance to get injured as the legion member leaps out. It also needs more control on the killers part where the other legions are, so some way of either choosing what locker they end up in or being left behind after teleporting to a locker.
-
No, this was a pretty hard nerf. Sure you can get hits a little easier, but your power is still no lethal and you have very little stall as Legion. They also buffed BT again after they did on the PTB, and now making it so its just running around (which makes no sense conceptually), is just a slap in the face to killers for a perk that is already one of the most powerful meta perks.
-
Just make it so it deactivates if you hook another survivor.

He's faster and has better addons at the cost of losing a top meta sinergy with a couple of perks. The mending time might be slightly shorter, but now survivor must keep moving or mend, while before they could just ignore it and repair gens inside the terror radius.
He was definetly not gutted.
Everyone who is trying to say this is a good thing brings up repairing while having DW before the change. And let me tell you I never encountered this once as Legion or against them. Insta mending though? Practically always.

Same here. Doctor is one of my favourites to use, not for kills, but just for chasing the survivors around for the fun of it, since this seems to be the only 'fun' I have in the game lately. Let's hope we don't see Legion 2.0 (Or 3.0 after the recent patch)
From what I have gathered it doesn't seem as bad as Legion, but it will still be a nerf over all

I'm going to be extremely annoyed if they mess that up.

Exactly. I hate the flashlight users in this game. Don't get me wrong, the ones who use them simply for saving, or a quick stun to get some distance, that's fine. But the ones who will t-bag and constant stun with it, knowing what they're doing, that's the line. I also just had a match with an eternal T3 Myer's instadown. That was not fun. Not at all. Why is that even a combo?! People complained about other killers being too OP, but hell, let's keep a killer who can just run Exposed forever and just slug everyone. There are too many issues in this game, and the devs seem to bury their heads in the sand about it and just release 'patches' that essentially destroy the game more for killers who didn't need to be nerfed so badly
I mean it seemed to be getting better for awhile...and then this sudden ######### storm of killer nerfs across the board...I'm scared for the Doc now...

The changes to Beast of Prey, Tinkerer, Dark Devotion, and the addition of Nemesis all have the potential to help the killer disorient a survivor, allowing them to get closer, and get a hit.
Possibly, I still say all of those are pretty weak to mediocre perks though.
-
@anarchy753 said:
I really hope they give up and rework them sooner rather than later. They're an awful killer and all these "tweaks" and ######### aren't going to fix them.
Either their power will make them a relentless force in chases that makes them the inevitable down that got them nerfed in the first place, or it's so non-threatening that it doesn't feel beneficial as the killer.
Please, PLEASE, just give up on this sprinting deep wounds and let them get a real power.
Yes, and make it something that evokes the name LEGION. Have something to do with either switching out with other members of the Legion, or make them as some kind of trap, or something. Like maybe they can hide in lockers and teleport to them and leave a clone trap behind that jumps out when a survivor gets near? It would give them map pressure and lethality that they need without being over powered but strong.

Honestly, I'd love to see Devs actually go up against what we do in matches. Sure, they 'test' their creations, but I don't think they ACTUALLY test against people who play 24/7. There's so many broken combos, powers, loops, etc. If a Dev actually played a few matches against people who run them, I hope they'd finally see what we're all talking about
Like when cote went up against survivors in I beleive Korea and got run around and flash light blinded the entire time and was super pissed about it. The devs need to experince that and find out just who is the only ones having "fun" in this game.

Yeah, it's unfortunate that a lot of our success as killer depend on survivors making mistakes. Although, BHVR has been giving us more tools to apply greater pressure and cause those mistakes to happen more often.
What tools are those?

@Monlyth said:

Well, compare Legion to Wraith. In the time it takes Wraith to decloak, get a first hit, cloak again, find another survivor and get another hit on them, the first survivor could have already finished healing. That isn't the case for Legion. In the time it takes you to get two hits on two survivors, the first survivor will be close to finishing the process of Mending, and won't have started healing yet.
Also, there isn't really a shortage of high-tier perks that Legion can do well with. So I don't think the loss of Sloppy Butcher would be enough to kill them (Especially considering they can now apply a similar effect with an add-on). Spirit Fury-Enduring, Monitor and Abuse, Corrupt Intervention, Ruin, BBQ & Chili, etc.. I think there are still plenty of good options for Legion builds.
Why would the wraith be trying to hit a different survivor?
-

What do you mean? They still apply Deep Wounds to waste the survivors' time, they still have a powerful detection tool, and they're still good at getting first hits. What is this "Only thing they had going for them"?
First hits, not last hits. The detection tool is average to lack luster dependent on the size of the map. And it barely wasted time in the first place, now it wastes even less. Especially without being able to apply Sloppy butcher

Such a good question, especially when BHVR seems better at over-nerfing than actually balancing.
Over-nerfing killers, and quickly at that. While they take time and consideration to nerf survivors. Sometimes they do it quicker like with Mettle of Man, but that was still longer then the thought on this Legion nerf, and taking away the only build that might have made them useful immediately after PTB.

You keep referring to the FF streak but I'd say that actually makes Legion better. People who decide to mend close to the action get hit again and have to repeat the process, wasting even more of their time. Doubly so if they decide to fully heal and get hit again because of their greed.
I'm not saying Legion is great or anything, but you're really not seeing this as the sidegrade it is rather than a straight nerf like you're making it out to be. I was extremely skeptical of the change before it went live, and I found it to be better than pre-patch Legion.
I think what we need now is for the mend timer to dramatically drop whenever a survivor touches a generator. That way no one can do what you think is going to become meta against them.
They can't do generators while DW anymore. So instant mending will be the standard. Which means either going into a very long cooldown, or chasing after someone else while they mend and potentially heal and maybe not finding them again for a long while.
-
@TragicSolitude said:
The reaction to adding a cooldown to Nurse's power was negative. Cooldowns are not fun. One of the things older killers have going for them is that they don't have cooldowns, so of course let's take that away from them. -_-
One of the nifty things about Doctor is his passive ability. My friend enjoys playing Doctor specifically because of the passive. So, this change will have to be amazing to not just cause severe disappointment.

Eh, against experienced survivors, Clown should consider himself lucky if his power has any significant impact on a chase at all. He's actually the weakest killer in the red ranks; even Legion performs better than him in terms of kill-rate.

Mostly because it's better than the alternative: Giving Plague a spammy, hard-to-avoid version of Huntress' hatchets, without the audible warning from the lullaby. It's really easy for a good Plague to snowball if someone cleanses.
Performed. Its past tense now. And the alternative you speak of is a plague with no more power, reduced to an M1 killer. But thats fun for

Its not going to be as your terror radius can change if you use addons, which for any use would need to be decently long. Also there will be no more passive field so his tracking ability will be severely hampered, taking away his main strength.

Between the frame drops on PS4, the new map (huge, covered in obstacles and foliage, and dark as hell; tracking survivors is damn near impossible on it), Oni's nerfs/clunkiness on console, all the nerfs to Spirit, the changes to DW, and the leaked upcoming changes to Doctor... All of this together? I'm struggling to not be venomous in my posts.

Except DW isn't affected by Terror Radius anyomre. So Beast of Prey does nothing for BT or Legion.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/888642#Comment_888642
The main difference between Borrowed Time and Feral Frenzy is that Borrowed time prevents you from going down a health state, while Feral Frenzy applies the Deep Wounds debuff in additon to injuring the survivor, thus forcing them to waste time mending, in addition to healing.
Also, when playing Legion, I often find that the increased vault speed allows me to land first hits that I otherwise couldn't. So I don't think he's useless, or even the worst killer. I think that title belongs to Clown, because at least Legion's power lets him bypass windows and pallets, slow down objective completion, and detect survivors instead of just relying on guesswork. The only thing Clown has is a mediocre tool to shorten loops slightly.
Except clown can end a loop faster then average at least. Legion's power can get a hit...and then wait 4 seconds while they get away and possible duck around a corner and loose them because you can't see scratch marks or blood.

They listened in a way that means an already weak killer got something making them SOMEWHAT viable taken away from them. And nothing was offered in return to fix it except for meaningless buffs.
-
PTB is there so that the devs know what survivors are bitching about and nerf them so its fun for everyone! (Survivors.)
