Yeah maybe, but I hope that its not a perk which is the emergency plan, we already have too many mandatory perks Maybe the killer can also see every survivor affected by kindred. That would be fun!

Once again, it isnt broken since survivor cant see each other. I play killer a lot at high rank and don't see how seeing a killer near a hook is an issue if you don't camp? Seems like people just crying. If you aren't camping, this does not affect you. They said survivors seeing each other would be too much, did people freak out when they heard kindred or did they actually watch the stream?

Doesn´t matter if the killer stands 1 meter away or 50 meters. Survivors will still call it camping.

It's not about what they call it, its about the mechanic. If it reveals killers within ten meters, and you dont camp as on you leave the hook the aura doesn't stay. So you sound like someone complaining rather than looking at the mechanics for how effective it is. If it reveals your aura from let's say ten meters, but if you're not staying within ten meters, what is the issue.

Once again, people are acting like what they brought up is broken or game breaking, it isnt broken. This thing is in the mobile game already and isn't broken, people still get swept. This also helps people just buff killers and perks with gap being bridged. The mobile dbd has many in game communication features and literslly still has infinite loops and gens that takes much less time than dbd and people still sweep. An interesting thing to adopt is what they have in identity v, hitting someone vaulting results in a one hit down.

It is broken indeed when survivors can see each other, thats even stronger than coordination via voice comms (in that particular scenario)

Comparing DBD to a mobile game is just ridiculous, im not gonna comment on that one

I'm saying, we don't know what the balance is on the killer side, and the two games are actually comparable because the mechanics are damn there copy pasted from dbd with the devs consent. So yes, it is comparable. Did you play it? Probably not. We also don't know if it's the full kindred effect or what the balance would be on the killers side. Many people just complain instead of testing what's coming.

It´s not like we´ve had bad experiences with the devs in the past. Myers nerfs, Freddy, Wraith Cube, etc.
I really don´t think the devs have a killer buff prepared. Or they would have talked about it.

Just look at the last stream, where you can see the devs play their own game on low ranks. They think it´s balanced.

I think they made a typo and no one noticed yet.
Like it was meant to be 160 seconds, but they made it 16 seconds. There is no way, they think a killer can kick 3 gens in less than 16 seconds.

It would be still useless for non-mobile killer's...

But they would at least know what gens are being worked on. Saving a lot of time.

  • I would like to have a buff to support perks like Botany Knowledge or Prove Thyself. If they were stronger, a survivor could heal himself with SC at the speed of a medkit heal. Only by sacrificing 2 additional perk slots.

Ok i post the question again for further reference:

    Was the mori nerf necessary?

Mori was nerfed last year. Before you could mori anyone the moment you downed him. Now you need to hook them first.

Ohh, I only started playing 9 or 10 months ago so I don’t think I was around to see the mori’s without the nerf. So I can’t really speak on it..

From the question I am reading, if they can mori someone the moment they down them, that is too powerful and make matches much shorter than they’re suppose to be. I presume the nerf was to give survivors a chance before they get killed off way too early in the game?

I also presume the nerf on the BNP was to also give killers a chance. I just wanted to hear everyone’s opinion. I think it was good that it got a nerf, it makes me feel bad for thinking that though because almost all my friends are survivor mains and they complain and say that the BNP was balanced and I can’t even explain it to them properly without them cutting me off and saying it was balanced because it would eat up all your toolbox if you messed up...

Correct. Moris were to strong back then. Same goes for BNP. Gens are take 80 seconds to finish if a single survivor repairs them. If the survivor hits consistently great skill checks and/or uses toolboxes it´s even less.
All 5 gens can be repaired in 3 minutes. Now imagine 4 BNP that instantly repair a gen. Then game would take less than 2 minutes. BNP needed a nerf.

A mori can currently skip 8 hooks. That’s 66% of the killers objective done with an ultra rare. What’s BNP do now? 4 can do a gen instantly, so 20% of the survivors objective.... with FOUR. BNP did need ANOTHER nerf, this was too hard though. Should do 50% of a gen

I also agree on this one!
BNP nerf was to harsh, but survivors prefered to not participate on the PTB to change the final numbers of the BNP nerf. Back then i said, that survivors will regret this. And tadaaa they do.
Now it´s to late to change it. We´ve got to live with the consequences.

Bing bong boy, mr f tier and betterbily are more important imo. She feels very wellrounded and enjoyable also.

Oh no definitely Wraith and Freddy come first, but she still needs a buff.

Do you mean the killtimer? Granted she could have some QoL changes, but killing someone with a trap is almost always gamewinning, it should stay a rarity and side effect.

RBTs are too easy to escape from, they need to at least make it harder to get off.

I agree. Went afk while being on the hook. Was unhooked, healed, a crow appeared over my head and I still had enough time to disarm the trap.

In the movie, they are under pressure. Don't really feels like that.

Maybe the killer sucked if you had all that time?
Also, you go afk while hooked for long enough to let all that happen? Idk rick...

Never had a Amazon or DHL delivery guy ring at your door?

Ok, but the fact that the killer sucked sounds more plausible than the fact that traps are meh just because you experienced that.

What has a to long RBT timer to do with the killer sucking?

That you weren't down or dead when you came back from being afk.
A long RBT timer is needed because it can turn into a mori. Its main purpose is to counter gen rushing.

Do you actually want the killer to chase someone with RBT?

As far as I know first crow doesn't give sound indication continually. The killer can not know he was afk. Most probably he was chasing somebody else.

The issue here isn't that the killer is not chasing him. The issue is that even if he goes AFK, he still has got time to get rid off the RBT.

Devs should stop thinking about killers individually. They should compare the killers with each other. I think that billy is really in a good spot and balanced so for me the question is whether a killer is as good as billy or worse than him.

You can say that each killer is unique and shouldn't have the same role and I agree with that. However, their power should be equal. Pig is not in a good place and never has been.

I know that killer doesn't get a notification with 1 crow.
I also think that he was lucky enough to remove the RBT in 1 or 2 tries, he'll tell anyway.

Second try. But i thought i would come back to the game and see myself at the points screen. Instead i still had time to disarm.

I suck as Pig. Might be because everyone has SB equipped. Or maybe i need to play only her during a month as i did with Freddy. But every killer should be viable and fun. Not just 2 or 3.

  • @jeridan said:

It´s not that killers become more toxic. But most killers are fed up to be called out on using non camping perks like BBQ and MYC and still be called a camper.

I don't know how often you play as a survivor, but i've seen MANY killers running BBQ and still camp really hard.

BBQ is for them sweet points ma man/woman.

Yes, but @Tsulan used that perk as an example, that's why i mentioned it.

And the killer only gets those sweet points if he hooks everyone once.
It has become increasingly hard to see survivors with BBQ. Partly because survivors finally hide behind gens, partly because the aura reading was nerfed on survivor demand. So i´m not really sure what survivors want. They want the killer to leave the hook, but don´t want him to come to them.
They want to be able to loop a killer for 5 gens, but don´t like the idea that he comes right to them after hooking someone else.
    It´s really confusing.

Gathering news on the new content (map, killer and survivor) is the only reason why I watched the stream. I had hopes for them to at least give us a sneak peek, but nothing. I just wasted my time watching all of the stream. But, I must admit, Janick failing every skill check gave me good laughs. Anyway, I thought the whole purpose of the live stream was to reveal the new content, and not doing that was a mistake. I'm sure I am not the only one who was there just for that. Add to this the fact that I won't even be able to play PTB because I am on console, so I will have to wait for somebody to upload videos about it. Cherry on top of the cake.

I remember when they released the Pig and Xbox got the dlc first. People gathered every piece of information from the internet. It was a ugly mess. The new killer is already finished. They could have shown us who is it. With another trailer and explaining what his powers are, how the perks work. A nice how to video like Heroes of the Storm does on every heroe. THATS how you do a reveal. People should know what to expect, see the power and what it can be used for.

  • @Master said:

So Mathieu asked us to provide feedback regarding the stream:

    • please consider showing high rank gameplay. Highest killer was Horvath with rank 14 and survivors played around rank 18-20 with Janick failing every gen skill check there was (achievement unlocked). The game experience is completely different on high ranks!
    • that being said, i really enjoyed watching the devs play and hope you repeat this on a more regular base (but please on higher ranks)
    • pretty pretty please, do a proper killer/survivor/perk/map reveal before the PTB. Don´t keep us in the dark until the PTB. This has been in mistake in the past (the pig) and you are repeating it. So please, do a proper reveal instead of just releasing the PTB.

Imagine if they showed high rank gameplay, ofc they can hack themselves to rank 1, but we see what happened at the asian event with cote, obviously they dont want to be bullied

Also the fps were so bad.... no words

But that would have been a realistic high rank match. They need to see how SWF deathsquads are on high ranks. They do everything to make the solo survivor as strong as SWF. But it doesn´t look like they know what it really feels like to play vs SWF on high ranks. There was 0 looping shown. Just a survivor who dropped one pallet after another and still managed to walk Horvath around the map. You know how that chase would have looked with a rank 1 looper who knows exactly when to drop the pallet.

Ah yes make your choice I find its hilarious how you can be called a tunneler when using this perk when the player who is exposed immediately bolts before healing the injured survivor. I mean you made your choice leaving your ally vulnerable and easier to track and closer to death or risk your own hide and take the aggro of the killer. It never surprises me how people play when this perk is in play leaving the injured loud survivor to fend for themselves.

But back to your point let's not pretend killers aren't getting toxic. I have seen enough from both groups to see that both killer and survivor are often playing incredibly toxic builds. The insidious leatherface builds and tunneling face camping killers are as common as your average ds player. Every killer and survivor is reciporacaiting their toxicity which isn't healthy for the community.

My idea above is simply a reason to encourage players to be more active in their hunts as it is not rewarding to hunt in DBD. As a killer it's all about maintaining hook pressure and keeping certain gens protected. Rushing survivors or "tunneling" players out of the game is mandatory in order to slow the game down. I blame the meta of rushing gens. Not bothering with totems and blitzing through gens if killers could have some better means for slowing down gen progression beside blatantly crap perks. Making hook afflict survivors with slower repair speed give a killer a reason to pursue other players instead of just tunneling one out of the game.

I can count the times i´ve seen an insidious basement camping Leatherface on 1 hand. But then again, i would stay as far away as possible from the basement, when playing against Leatherface.
I´ve tried Insidous Leatherface a few times. But it is utterly boring. Like running in circles boring. Yeah it´s a tactic, but i would fall asleep if i tried to do this consistently.

Of course there are toxic killers. I never claimed there aren´t. Toxic behavior breeds more toxic behavior. A survivor who plays toxic and bullies a killer might do it, because he a killer was toxic to him in a previous match, and that killer might have been toxic because another survivor was toxic to him in another match, etc.
Some are toxic because they are bored or get bullied in their work/school environment. Then they are toxic on the internet to compensate or make others suffer. This spreads like cancer.

Devs really need to do something regarding the overall toxic behavior of players.

Just got my survivor rank to 15 with no pips! Next game was an epic fail but for some reason brought me to 16 with 2 pips. ######### happened with wont depip under 15 !

DID you DC? you cant lose 2 pips unless you DC.

You can lose 2 pips as killer if you don´t hook anyone during the whole match.
Don´t know what you have to do as survivor tho.

  • Probably no one. Since no one knows what will change.

Its a one time use for you, but not for the Killer.
In the high red ranks its a meta perk, its not rare to face 4 of those.

Actually, since 2.10, I never have had a team where all 3 of the other survivors use DS. Not saying it doesn't happen, but it's certainly not as common anymore. Just from my own observations.

    Regardless, nerf.

Just yesterday I had a full SWF deathsquad with 4x DS.
Needless to say, they all escaped.

The kindred buff will be a huge thing.
Solo survivors will be almost as coordinated as SWF teams. Gen rushes will be more common and SWF will be even more powerful.

Devs probably do this to balance the game and nerf survivors hard after that patch.
But they need to be quick. Otherwise there won't be much left of a killer community.

    That's my biggest concern.

Imagine how miserable killer will be waiting for the devs to balance out the kindred change.

It will be miserable for everyone. Killers won´t play because gens will be done faster and survivors won´t play because they sit in a lobby for 45+ minutes.

Well since there will be survivor sided chase buffs, several folks I know won't play killer. Heck, if it's bad enough I will stop playing for a bit. With shorter gen times what will happen to the killer ranks? I wonder if matchmaking will be the real problem with this new update as survivors completing gens fast ranks them up and causes killers to de-rank. Are non-nurse high ranks doomed?
Yeah, we'll probably see even more nurses on high ranks. Because she's the only non loopable killer.
Funny how survivors complain about only seeing nurse and billy on high ranks, but when someone plays something else, they punish this heavily.
  • Fixed a bug that wouldn't allow the survivors to be saved from under a pallet. Pallet stun range is now 10 meters.
  • I find it interesting how many people recommend you to also play survivor in order to get better as killer. This is how it should be.
But sadly, those players get called out by diehard survivor mains, because they are "killer biased".

So I recommend you to also play survivor and Survive With Friends. This'll give you a more realistic view on how the game is balanced.

    You answered your own question.
Killers camp because they struggle to slow down the gen rush.

no all the gens got done cause they literally facecamp 2 people for safety pips, no chasing never leaving the hook, just hit, hook, face for the entirety of the match. My issue isn't entirely with killers facecamping but also with survivors gencamping. Like this behavior is so ingrained to never even check if a team mate is savable. I have an issue with this as a casual player who just wants to enjoy a few games then go do something else, but if those few games are consistently unfun, then there's no reason for me to play except when new content comes out.

Then you gonna love the new patch. No uncertainty anymore. You'll know exactly where everyone is.

This will increase gen rushing tho. Which will increase camping. Because killers will try to get at least 1 kill.

Honestly reward proactive killers make being hooked as a survivor carry a permanent debuff for the trial that reduces action speed or gen progression. This make tunneling less optimum as you will be rewarded better for hunting other targets.

Every time devs try to come down on camping it's only made killers more toxic. This idea slows the game down which is badly needed. Promotes anti tunneling which this game could do with and plays better into the theme of the entity slowly devouring your strength and hope.

It´s not that killers become more toxic. But most killers are fed up to be called out on using non camping perks like BBQ and MYC and still be called a camper.

i'm just gonna Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V my post on an other thread

How to demonstrate it's the slit-mouthed woman :

    1) the man in the trailer talked. This would be a first after so many killers and survivors to get a character who actually talk beside the Entity, so probably not to show off the killer but more the story of the killer.
    2) in the Slit-mouthed woman legend she cheated on her samourai husband who slitted her mouth in a big smile. then she suicided and roamed around to ask people if she was pretty. She also usually wears a surgery mask such as Feng in her first set of cosmetics.
    3) the mask we see in the first second of the trailer is an Hannya mask. Hannya are vengeful woman spirit seaking revenge.
    4) the fact that the man say "daugther" doesn't means his victim is his daughter but could be just him quoting a famous poem like a lot of villain before killing someone does in movies or series ( Joker in Batman 1989 or Jules in Pulp Fiction quoting the Bible )

    I agree 100%!
The next killer is going to be the slit-mouthed woman.

Well that sucks. I wish I could clear them. I will have to play like 15 killer matches in the next 5 hours to get rid of them all.

You don't need to get rid of them
We might even be able to reuse them in a future event

Probably not. We´ve never reused a event item for a different event. I still have Howling grounds offerings or firecrackers.

  • I feel you. I have over 20 on a killer i rarely play, with terrible perks.

NOED is like the DS of killers. You can play poorly and still get a win thanks to a perk. Imagine if they buffed DS to make the perk a multi-use perk. Whether you like it or not, they actually have to be cleansing totems in order to counter NOED before it goes off. If they do that, they're wasting time. Most of the times people don't and I've also had survivors get after me for cleansing totems with a killer with NOED because I was "wasting time" and not focusing on getting out. Gen rushing is an issue, but buffing NOED isn't the answer.

NOED is only an issue if survivors gen rush. It´s in no way comparable to DS.

Have you tired knocking the survivor out and then running around in circles sometimes surivors miss i do that tbh xd or just drop them in the chack OR just let them die or use them as a bait ez counter :P

2 nights ago i played Hag (i never play Hag) and used the BBQ offering (still have over 20 laying around). Just went for the points and didn´t really try anything else than getting to those damn hooks.
So gate gets powered the moment i down someone next to the last bbq hook. I pick her up, and hear the clang of that hook that got sabotaged with a teabagging Meg next to it. Dropped the survivor and just waited. The downed survivor made a false call and healed up instead of crawling to the gate (wasn´t far). So they try to distract me to heal. Doesn´t work and i down her again. She then disconnects and i down the sabotaging Meg next to the gate. (Injured everyone who came close). Meg dies.
The chat was full of salt from Meg, but also towards Meg. The other survivors defended my position, since i didn´t camp the event gens and only wanted my hooks.
    Was an interesting turn.

Fun to read, hope you got your hooks done btw :P

5 BBQ offerings got all hooks but one.

NOED is only an issue if survivors gen rush. It´s in no way comparable to DS.

DS: Survivors get a free escape unless they are juggled or close enough to a hook
NOED: Killer gets free hooks where they wouldn't have gotten them otherwise unless survivors cleanse the totem after it spawns or cleanse all totems

How are they in no way comparable?

DS: Survivor gets a free escape unless they are close to the hook. Dribbling only works for a short distance.
    DS rewards failiure.
NOED gives the killer free hooks? So they magically teleport to the hook and die? He doesn´t has to hunt and down them? This truly sounds OP!
NOED only punishes gen rushers. That´s about it. It can be completely prevented, unlike DS.

NOED gives free downs. Is that better? That's like survivors getting free get away. Only DS works once and NOED works every time until the totem is destroyed. It can be before it goes off. It could be never if the team couldn't be bothered. I've had whole teams wiped out because of NOED. They would either get no kills or one, but the NOED came in to save the day. I've had someone with NOED complain about someone with DS getting a free escape. Well, there's your free downs, buddy. You're as bad as them.

1 DS is no problem. 4 DS are a problem. Especially with how fast the gens are done and how long a chase takes.
NOED punishes those very gen rushers and can be cleansed before it even spawns. Killer wastes up to 3 perks for a endgame strategy. For perks that only come into effect once the gates are powered. Survivors behave like the killer lost once the gates are powered and that he should go into a corner of the map and cry.
But the match is not over until you see the point screen.

What i find even more ridiculous, is WHY survivors complain about NOED. Killer let you get points and pip. Yet survivors still complain that they died at the end of the match.
But if a killer kills everyone with 5 gens up, they also complain that they depiped, and received next to no points. That the killer is #########, because he camped or whatever reason they make up.

There really is NO way to make survivors happy. Maybe if the game would start with open gates. But then they would spend 20 minutes at the exit teabagging.

I can understand your aggression and your defensiveness towards survivors, but what I'm saying isn't wrong. DS sucks and so does toxic behaviors; I avoid those. End-game builds are also a lot of fun. I mostly blame myself if I don't foresee it coming and react accordingly. I'm not talking about an end-game build. Whether you want to see it as such or not, NOED is relied on by a lot of killers who aren't that skilled. They wouldn't have gotten that 3k without it and it isn't because they're "letting" you get points. It's a game changer in the same way DS is for survivors. Perks shouldn't determine how many you kill or if you get away. It should be a mixture of both. With that being said, I understand some killers almost require the perk to be viable with how weak they are, but it makes me cringe to see it on top tier killers.

If they kill everyone before 5 gens, it's cause the team sucked. I wouldn't blame the killer even if they did camp. Gens could be done and that person could hang for a while. You get that when you play with randoms, though. It's like randoms disconnecting for no reason or killing themselves on hooks. Fun, fun. Camping and tunneling truly sucks, though. It makes it so one person doesn't get points/pips and that person may not have done anything to deserve such treatment.

I´m not really agressive towards survivors. I speak from experience. More often than not i had someone teabag me at the exit, while i went to the toilet, grabbed something to eat, had a chat with my wife, made a phone call, etc. While that survivor stood at the exit gate teabagging.

I agree that perks shouldn´t determine how many kills the killer gets. (this goes both ways btw.)
But as long as we have game mechanics that give an unwanted (looping), unfair (voice chat), or unjustified (hatch) advantage, it´s the only thing some people have left to balance the outcome of the match.

Ohh and despite me defending NOED, i rarely use it unless i test some new builds.
