Make Your Choice works even better for this purpose since it becomes active when the survivor is unhooked and isn't deactivated when you 'use' it. I've found that the Doctor's 60 second static blast cooldown is also useful for gauging time in-match.
Sadly I do not have make your choice but it sounds like a good option

It's a good question, but I think the only way you'll really know is to give red ranks a go. I personally wouldn't want to play red because I feel like matches would have zero chance for chill. But I've never played in red ranks, so take the opinions of others with a grain of salt and do what feels right for you to enjoy the game!
If I don't like it I'll probably buy ghostface and starting memeing until I derank to 5 if I ever go there

I'd have fun with it for a second, then hook one .
I am not a fan of farming on either side and 5 gennys left is too long for me to be standing around.
So I'd hook one and let them know the game was still on!
So you can't meme bro? It's not even farming it's just memeing

Its like this. You are looping them well enough for them to get bloodlust. Why remove something that can be deactivated by breaking a pallet. Just starting running around some debris loops so they have to break or it becomes a way longer chase, therefore losing bloodlust.
-
@IMilkNobody said:
There is no reason for this to be in the game it shouldve been removed with infinites
If they are chasing you long enough to get bloodlust you are doing something right and your teammates should be doing gens. Why remove it. All It really does is help killers get hits and make some survivors plays way more risky. Consider before they get bloodlust you had to be looping them well idk how hard it is when they get bloodlust.

Ghostface has the best perks out of these, and in my opinion is the most fun to play.
The other DLCs come with survivors though, so if you play survivor too you could get the other ones.
But who wants Quentin?

Had a match the other day against a Pig. I was intent on doing gens. Previous match, the team three genned, and it really bugged me. So, I was focused on not allowing that. The Pig seemed really focused on the Bill in that match, from what I could see. Tunneled him off hook. In the end, it was a 4k escape, with me body blocking before getting him out the door.
It wasn't until the post game lobby that I saw he was using OoO, and it was a 3 man toxic squad that made me, the fellow survivor, feel disgusted. Felt really bad for that Pig. They didn't say anything, just left, I assume, but that 3 man sure had a lot of things to say. . .
Yeah ouch. Last OoO group I went against 3 genes themselves and I got a 4k because hatch spawned in the 3 gen

I have it on pretty much all my characters and builds, to the point where I think it's becoming kind of a crutch for me. But it's the best perk in the game imo. Still, for those of you who don't use it, why and what would you use instead ( depending on your build obviously. )
I use it in my chase build. Sweet sweet window techs.

Trapper's the only killer that does that and I love him for it. Really you just have to taunt him at the start of the match so he's chasing you instead of putting traps down. If you wait til later he's got a bear trap web set up and it's harder to fight him. Of course he's still an M1 killer so basic rules apply.
Plus whispers makes him anxious to put traps down even if you know darn well you're not gonna go over there and disarm it until he's like 50 meters away...also I may be guilty of the DS/Head on combo. I'm also playing Yui lately to pick up pallets after smacking killers. I think sometimes I'm playing this game wrong.
For me I just run the second chance build. Every second chance perk is in it. DS? Got it. DH? Got it. UB? Got it. BT? Got it.
-
@Heartbound said:
Yes. Many times. One of my favorite was BMing a Trapper for 3 gens. I ended up getting hooked and later in the match stepping in a trap, only to immediately get free and step into another one. I didn't even bother struggling I was so done.
Lol that sucks man. Personally trapper is the the killer that makes me so anxious to loop. If there a trap here? I hope not.

Then killers would just camp parts so no one can escape.
How would they know where the parts are? And if they find them the parts dissapear when they are within 16 meters

@BowlofTofu said:
I mostly play killer, I live me some Freddy man, but there's a lot of times where after I get my first hit, two or three gens pop right after another. And it's quite frustrating knowing that I got even less time to try and do my thing when the game started only a minute or two ago.
My idea is simple, a double edged sword sort of thing.
Make a secondary objective that helps the gens be repaired faster while ignoring the secondary causes the gens to be repaired a lot slower.
My idea is:
Make the Gen repair take 2-3 times longer. Additional survivors only marginally make it faster, so at best it takes nearly two minutes of working on a Gen to finish it.
To compensate, the secondary objective would be actual parts in the map for the generator to be fixed making it easier. Things like a jug of gas to fill up the generators fuel, new gears, wires, and other parts that would be able to work for them.
Five parts for five generators. So 25 parts in total. As well as making it so that once a part is used its gone for good making you strategically decide which gens need the parts.
One all five parts are replaced or repaired, then you can speedily get the generator going then go on to either work on another generator or find more parts.
They'd be hidden throughout the map. Say in chests, drawers, the basement, and so on. So you'd have to actively avoid being detected by the killer while you're being hunted as you decide if you want to take it slow with the repairs or search for things to make the repairs go faster.
It's just an idea I had. I've always found it odd that survivors just hop on it and rub the sides til it's done.
2 minutes for 1 generator? This has to be a joke right. That's the most boring idea that they could implement. Creating a second objective that's gen parts? Sure but decreasing gen speed is ridiculous. Also make it where they need 1 part for 50 percent of every gen. 1parts for gen and they can't get past 50 percent without that part.

Does anyone else have the issue that 9/10 Leatherfaces camp? And with camp I mean standing in front of my face from first hook to death lol. When playing with friends I can warn them it's some incel camping with insidious, but when playing with randoms, there's not much you can do to warn them.
I play both killer and survivor and I don't understand why killers , mostly Bubbas, facecamp. It's boring for the killer, you let 1 person just not play the game while the other 3 have a boring game without any interaction.
This makes me hate Leatherface even more lol. I never play him because I just hate the character so so much. Didn't even touch him when he was playable in Mortal Kombat X. :P
Does anyone else have the issue of almost every leatherface they face just playing extremely lame and toxic? Are there Bubba mains here who actually play him because they like the character/kit and not to abuse his facecamp potential?
Last time I was camped by a leather face it was when the doors were powered, I was in the basement and I was trolling him all game. So I kinda deserved it and didn't care. Even apologized for the trolling. So I don't have an issue because usually I don't go down.

I feel like every other game as Killer I get flashlight clicked at, t bagged at pallets, and bullied in end chat by a SWF group telling me to die of cancer. I don't get as many toxic people as survivor, but why are people like this? This community can be so toxic and I don't get why. Entitlement? Maybe. Even when people get what they want I get insulted relentlessly. The community gets a bad rep from people like this. Idk, maybe its just me. Just tired of people feeling the need to be mean as hell. Every game has toxic people, but I see it especially here.
I only clicky clicky and that's because I want you to chase me because survivor is boring

Saying run x perk is not healthy nor is it a good arguement for a counter to spirit. Sure it works but you shouldn't be forced to run a perk to counter a killer. If I said "run corrupt if you dont want to be genrushed lol" I would be attacked.
Are you new? Old legion definitely needed a nerf it had NO counterplay like actually no counterplay you were going down no matter what. Good nursenplayers have adapted and re learned nurse she can still be strong the only problem she suffers from is the bugs they left her with.
Billy can still 4k and be good people blow this nerf out of proportion sure I hate the cooldown but I can still get kills with him and double engraving flicking is still possible. Ghostface has been buffed you still cant break him out looking at him point blank btw. Name some killers that have been nerfed due to survivors actually right now.
Devs dont appeal to survivors matter in fact it's been nerfs straight from 2018 patch 2.0 name a meaningful buff survivors have gotten since then. I'll wait.
Again the devs dont appeal to survivors and we are still playing. Window and pallet hits are still happening. If you are gonna claim something be ready to back it up.
I have been told multiple times to run corrupt to stop gen rush. Do I or anyone else for that matter attack people? No and I have never seen it

When I said camping is fine I meant it doesn't need to be adjusted. The issue is survivors fall for it. Experienced survivors know to leave that guy on the hook, do gens and get out. Camping only works on over altruistic survivors or newb ones. Good killers know not to waste their time camping and go hunting.

Is it boring? Sure but it isn't bannable

@mintchapstick said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1594346#Comment_1594346
It isn't though. Because it's literally holding the game hostage.
Holding the game hostage means that the killer isn't doing his objective and is making it where the survivors can't do theirs. The killer is camping which in turns kills the person who is being camped, his objective is to kill not you to have fun. Sorry not sorry. Do I condemn camping mid game, yeah. Do I think it's fine, yeah. Because its counterable. Plus there are ways to counter camping IE bt or smol pp.

LOL you must be a rank 21 level killer if you think camping is fine. It's not fair for survivors & it's boring to do and negatively impacts YOU.
It is though. It's your teams fault if you don't capitalize.

Because PS4 is full of potatoes. Before Cross-Play I only ever got boosted Red ranks in my matches and every time, they'd stand in a corner and Self-Care or refuse to be healed so they could go do it themselves. I even ran Empathy for a while to try help people but nope. It got to a point I stopped healing people because they were just making zero effort to do anything but self-care. With Cross-Play I still see it from some PC players and Xbox/Switch, but far far less.
Nice generalization btw

Self Care is actually more efficient. Heal time is the same: 2 Survivors healing for 16 seconds is the same as one for 32 seconds with regard to doing generators. But there's no time spent finding each other. Self Care's performance with regard to Survivor outcomes is quite good, actually.
It's not always the right play to spend 32 sec to heal, but it's not always the wrong play, either.
I think I should put this response on a keyboard macro. :D

I mean, I'm entirely for it so when I cleanse 4 totems and my teammates can't even do ######### one I'm not punished with instant death, I just wanted to clarify
Yeah that's what I didn't want
It's more balanced for solo and punishes people for no doing bones. Which means this perk could slow down gen speed if they have do be wary of totems

Seems like with every new Killer, i wish more that they would go back to the older ones and think of something new.
Recently viewing a kill animations compilation, which is of course ordered from old to new, quickly makes you realize how incredibly outdated the first few really are, at least in comparison.
With graphics updates happening, i really wish that this could be done for the older animations somewhere along the way of those updates.
Would you like new kill animations?
What if trappee had a mori where he opens a trap and puts it on your head then kicks you down

So devour hope but better?
It's not better per say since it still can be deactivated before it even can activate and if they miss 3 or less totems you can't insta down. This perk is a basically do bones or you die perk. At least the way I made it

I've been playing with this build on Trapper (No gen slow down perks).
https://i.gyazo.com/4e3f272dffdd8840c87c24dc2431b00e.jpg
It works out for me for the most part, unless I get a bad set up in which case I try to create pressure by slugging them, and with Nurses + Sloppy it can be very lethal against swf teams because of how altruistic they get. If you are playing as Myers (Who is my main btw) Corrupt Intervention is a good perk on him, because the survivors mostly spawn where the blocked gens are, giving you an idea of what kind of path you are going to take when stalking them.
I would also say, outside of slow down perks you have to work with your other perks too. So for instance for me, if I have Sloppy, I don't mind leaving someone wounded trying to take me to a dead area where no gens are in sight. This means they have no gens to work on, and they have to heal unless they want to be injured the next time we meet.
I may try that build on trapper. And I do not have corrupt
-
@pseudechis said:
I find I get better traction from discordance than corrupt.
Unless survivors split up continually which can happen.
Sloppy, thana, pop, discordance is a generic slowdown build I find often takes the pressure off.
Typically I throw in BBQ because I like blood points and a couple of chase perks rather than the mentioned build and just try my best to be constantly pressuring people off gens. Most games are ok some games are a write off.
I do not have discordance but I do have the others I just need to unlock the thana teachable
-
@RizeAki said:
Try out some gen perks or just pressure gens don’t try too hard with winning chases they don’t matter as much
That could my issue. Since I'm an m1 killer I'm used to actually getting chases and being able to mind game myself into a free hit. Now I'm running pop and dying light so I'll put my obsession on death hook and slug them until I get my uses out of dying light because dying lights with stacks is pretty good. It's the second best slowdown I have behind pop
