What I meant was that, even if both are present in the game (which I even explained), Stridor gets priority over Iron Will. Which means that, if they are both tier 3, you will still hear something from a survivor with Iron Will 3. And it's been a thing for a long time.

But i never said something different. There is no prioritizing. 100 is the base value. +50 for stridor -100 for IW.

  • One pig let me do it. She still camped my teammate to death, but after that she stopped killing.

  • I think they will do it. And as console player i have no problems with it.

Stronger is a question of perspective in this case. 50 is still too loud against a spirit, when players with good headsets can even use your footsteps to determine your location, so I think that is what @Damarus meant with stronger.

I wouldn't say that IW cancels stridor, when it has no direct impact on the perks effect.

Being one hit isn't worth making no sounds imo, if you want to stack perks that make you more quiet the only perk I would consider would be off the record to make tunneling harder.

The argument was that the Op doesnt mind normal spirit. So with iron will and stridor in play, its like normal spirit.

And of course its not worth it. Its just nice to know.

What? @Damarus said the same thing I said, with stridor the killer can hear a survivor that runs iron will, the breathing sounds are only a bit more quiet.

If you don't believe that, you can easily test it in kyf.

No, @Damarus said that "they have made it so Stridor is stronger than Iron Will, long ago" and you with the wiki say that iron will has a stronger effect then stridor. (Iron will = 100, Stridor = 50) So you both say exactly the opposite.

And you dont need to try to convince me. I was the one who said iron will cancels stridor. I said that you can be absolutely silent with iron will (100) and no mither (50) against stridor (50), too.

There is a chart in the wiki, on the page about Stridor:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/D4C0XRJVDXJM/screenshot-20210521-215301.png

Playing iron will 3 while the killer plays stridor 3 is basically like playing iron will 1: Some characters like Ace are relativly quiet with iron will 1, others like Meg are still super loud.

@Damarus so the wiki is wrong?

I meant if the entire team did it. Over, and over again. Sure, some killers would be happy. The majority would get bored fast though.

Yh i think it would be similar to old iridescent huntress.

  • Basic build: sloppy, nurses, monitor, corrupt

Or with MyC and Stbfl instead of sloppy, nurses or monitor

    Autowin against average players:

    Mint rag

Make your Choice, Thrill of the hunt, Devour hope and a perk for the first down (corrupt for delay or monitor)

It's arguably already the best killer perk in the game I doubt they will buff it. There are plenty of other under powered perks that need attention.

If we only talk about the gameplay benefit, then its not even close for the best perk. So i wouldnt say its arguably the best killer perk or you could say that about almost every perk.

  • Its a good counter. Use thrilling if you want more reliable info.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2204582#Comment_2204582

Stridor has a stronger effect than Iron Will, they don’t cancel each other out. You’re quieter than you would be without IW but still clearly audible, so it’s no counter to Stridor Spirit.

And No Mither is a horrible idea against a killer with an incredibly strong chase power.

Where did you get this info? Iron will should have a stronger effect and it sounds similar quit for me.

  • Its hard to say whether you get only really good survivor or you have a lot to learn as killer. Like others said it can depend on when you play. So maybe try out different times on the weekend. If you want to know how much you can improve post your gameplay on this forum.

  • Zombie 32 from Resident Evil 2 as killer. The one guy who dies first in Resident Evil 5 as survivor. And as map the casino from Resident Evil Resistance.

    I think i have a good quota.

  • There are many "fair" maps. But there too many factors, to say it for certain. For example maps are different for every killer.

So when would you say a map is killersided? If a killer without a power would be stronger then survivor on the same skill level?

  • @Quake said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2204382#Comment_2204382

There is a counter to GF,it's called spine chill. And it is an amazing perk overall.

But then you can use iron will against spirit. If you use iron will against stridor, they cancel each other out and apparently you dont have a problem with normal spirit. Or you use no mither and iron will and trade a health state for being silent.

So perk counter are not really are argument.

I suppose if everyone did it eventually people would stop playing it.

Its true that there are some killer which dont like dcs bc it makes the match boring. But there are also many who dont care and some like it when survivor dc.

  • @Orion said:

How do you know the killer's perk loadout?

You can hear that the killer has stridor and if you have iron will its even easier to notice. But if you always suicide, you never see when you are wrong anyway.

I would not quit on using BBQ unless you replace it for another information perk.

Ruin and Pop makes for a good gameplane and is a much safer bet then Ruin + Undying. If you want you could opt for Pop and Surge as Bubba can get good value out of this: Hit one area with surge, see the survivors with BBQ and dash off to get a Pop on that gen. It is a bit of work but it is a fine one.

Of course there is Tinkerer which works nice on Bubba like it does on Billy, Infectious Fright for snowballing or Discordance to get more information. As said: One information perk is very helpful on Bubba BBQ is the most used on him because he just comes with it but Tinkerer and Discordance work very good too.

Surge is not good for Bubba. It only works with a basic attack. So there are matches where you dont get enough value.

We agree with Appraisal, Deception and Self Preservation.

Power Struggle could be good perk but it is so situational. Killer has to walk on pallet when carrying you. Or you also need Flip-Flop and you will go to pallet. And then killer will carry you and that will work. I mean when this works, that will be perfect. But most of times that will not happen, we both know. So i can not say that is good perk.

Fast Track is really so bad perk. You will finish one gen so fast but cost is your teammates suffers. And that will help your escape? I do not think so. Egc is killerside, so even you finish gen alone you will die %90. And i will put Prove Thyself for genrushing. PT is more effective and stronger and also gives you more points.

Smash Hit is also bad. I would say that is worst exhaustion perk but there is Head-On. That perk can be useful only low ranks. Because red rank killers respecting pallets so much.

A good killer does not respect pallets.

  • Who cares about 3 new perks? There are dozen of old perks which deserve a rework. So the change for a good perk is higher.

I mean if you look at the steam stats for trophies only 15% of survivors have reached rank 10. Meaning 85% of players have not reached rank 10 for this game as survivors, and for killers it's way lower. Meaning most of the people who play this game are casual 85%, makes sense why they would adjust the game on lower ranks.

And how many players played only a hour? Was dbd free on steam for a weekend? What is with all the franchise fans (silent hill etc) who quit early? Is there are trophy which you can compare? Maybe something like escaping 50 trials or similar? (I dont have steam)

the window next to where the basement can spawn was an infinite while I was T3 meyers they went through the window (i had to go through the door to the left or the window both took about the same amount of time) they went around the outside of the building and went back into the cowshed to vault through the window again. I got a minimal amount of distance (if any) they went around til the window got blocked then they went through the main building on the other side till the window got unblocked. idk if they were a god tier gamer? maybe they had quickvault (even though they were uninjured) but it seemed rather infinite to me (also i saw no breakable walls on that side)

Maybe it was really rare rng? I never saw this infinite in a game or in videos.

  • I play both sides equally. I never bm, but i play often without mercy. I have one survivor p3 all perks and all killer with all perks. I have only my first killer (Billy, Hag), licensed ones and new killer (after deathslinger) p3. I dont buy cosmetics with auric cells and get rarely tilted. When im tilted it lasts only at max 5min after the game. When i started it was way worse.

  • A build which works on almost any killer is ruin, undying or pop, tinkerer and discordance. If you want a good build for a specific killer, then ask for it directly. Its too much time to write a build for all killer and it depends which addons you use.

  • @PabloLovesMC said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2202428#Comment_2202428

How do you define an infinite loop? Because i think being able to go through a window 3X where a killer cant catch up then go through a different loop where the killer cant catch up then right back to the first loop is kinda infinite (look at cowshed on coldwind)

Can you not break a wall for cowshed? I only saw a infinite in chapel.

Infinites aside there are still many problems with the game, but i think the game goes in the right direction. You can watch the anniversary stream and look at the new roadmap. If you dont see something promising, you should maybe play other games.

  • I still see clowns. With so many killer its not unusual if you see one killer only in 5% of your matches.

  • I agree that this video is no evidence and this threads make no sense. But last time i checked the majority agreed that cowshed is up there with haddonfield when we speak about busted maps and needs a change.

  • @sulaiman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2198250#Comment_2198250

Strange, i had games where killers wanted me dead because i had a key, and i still survived, partly, because i know how to juke a killer and lose him in a chase, partly because i had a good team (even though i was playing solo!) that managed to coordinate an unhook and tanked hits for me.

I still believe keys are balanced in solo queue by the killers that will tunnel and camp you if you bring one, and the rest often not realizing you had one till after the match.

But you escape bc the killer doesnt know what hes doing. Many tiles can be bloodlusted and while the killer loses the game bc of that he will get a hit. Take the cowshed 1vs1 for example. Even with a map like that you cant loop forever and its hard to lose sight to hide if the killer does not try mindgames. Whether you can hide depends on the map too. So if a killer with the same skill level wants you dead at the beginning, you will go down.

  • It only shows two things. This map has only safe loops and should be changed. Everyone knows that.

The other thing is how bloodlust can give you a hit on even this loops. It will lose you the game, but a survivor can do nothing if you dont break the pallet and just wait for bloodlust.

Both shows that looping at safe pallets is really boring.

  • Im tired to give survivor second chances. If they mess up they lose. I will not camp or tunnel if it is not neccessary, but i dont try to get a 12-hook-game. But most of the time, i dont look at offerings. And i wouldnt play different if i see bloodpoint offerings.

  • The biggest problem is that maps are not balanced. Its ok if you can get a indoormap for stealth killer or a map where you can use Balance landing often, but maps where the other side can give up if the matchmaking would work shouldnt be possible.

Another problem is that with new maps there will be more map offerings which use a green bloodweb slot. On the other side you need a map offering more, bc it gets harder to get one map without it.

  • @lagosta said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2200099#Comment_2200099

That fourth point rolls out in one of 2 ways:

1-If the killer is really competent the game lasts for 2 minutes. This is a major symptom of matchmaking issues especially in red ranks where a team with a collective of a few hundred hours can face a Killer with thousands. Everyone depips, including the killer.

2-The skill level is comparable, but the killer wants to act like a jerk. Imagine you're stuck in a game where they can't quite down all 4 at the same time, but don't hook them up either. You end up rescuing people over and over again or spending a good part of the match on the ground until someone bleeds out. That takes a long time bc the team is picking each other up and pausing the bleeding. Here an example of a stream sniper in Oceanic servers that is just trying his best to make everyone's experience miserable:

    https://youtu.be/zlALIvUMKfE

Slugging can make a match really long, but arent there only two cases when this happens? 1. the killer could win but wants to annoy the survivor or 2. the killer would lose if he takes the time to hook.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2200093#Comment_2200093

I mean, if the Killer is bad, this will be the outcome. Some Killers slug without any sense and go for a long chase afterwards.

However, when you get slugged for a while and then hooked, you have the slugging on top of being on the Hook.

But that would mean no teammate was near. So you would have waited at the hook instead. But its true that more players come to unhook then to pick up.

  • @miketheratguy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2200101#Comment_2200101

Not nearly as long though, and no way to try to get free of the situation. When you're slugged you MUST rely on a teammate's help unless you're running specific perks.

I think we can ignore the 4%. In both cases you rely on your teammates almost the same. And when you are slugged you can crawl to your team. I personally prefer being slugged.

  • @miketheratguy said:

Just like being facecamped, it's simply not fun. It's really not any more complicated than that. No one likes to just sit there not being able to play the game.

Before anyone jumps on me, I'm not saying it's cheating or toxic (unless, as stated above, the remaining survivors are deliberately left to bleed out just to waste their time). It just isn't fun having no real recourse other than sitting there and hoping that a teammate can help you.

But isnt it the same like being on a hook?

  • @lagosta said:

    Why it sucks for survivors?

    • you waste 4 minutes to die. In a hook, you can die anywhere between 10 seconds to 2 minutes. Some matches are lost cause and being stuck to it sucks.
    • the killer forgets where they left you and it's not infrequent to bleed out bc they dunno where you are.
    • some killers slug to bm. Had a plague leave me on the ground for almost 4 minutes while following me around only to hook me. No teabags, sabo, flashlight spam, or other reasons to trigger that. He was just a jerk.
    • other killers slug to snowball the game from the very beginning of the match. I don't want to play whack-a-mole picking up people only for them to be down again in 10 seconds while the game doesn't progress through gens or hook stages at all.

I understand the first three points, but is with point 4 the game not lost anyway? If the team cannot recover from slugging, doesnt that mean that it is not good enough? And yh with the bad matchmaking that happens often.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

The logic in the OP is pretty flawed.

Like, you are not slugged INSTEAD of being on a Hook, you are slugged AND on the Hook. So there is even more time where you do nothing except of holding M1 (or not even that if you finished recovering).

I dont have a problem with slugging, as long as it is done in a reasonable amount.

I dont understand what you want to say. If i get slugged and then picked up, i didnt get hooked.

  • @chargernick85 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2197350#Comment_2197350

The long walls that look like L's and T's OP is saying he can lunge all the way around them. Those are some of the best locations for survivors so any killer that can do some damage there will cause flak. Thats not aimed at OP either just in general.

Yh but what is the bottom? I dont understand why you couldnt loop wraith there.

  • @Predated said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2164454#Comment_2164454

Because most people do adepts as a solo survivor, and due to a lack of perks like Kindred etc, you can almost guarantee to either being farmed off the hook or being left on the hook untill second stage. Let alone that facecampers exist and that certain survivors dont really have decent perks to aid them as a solo player.

So for consistent adepting, you never want to be found.

You only need to escape. There will be matches where you will lose without being able to do something, but roughly 3 matches per adept is not that bad.

  • I would prefer skins you can unlock with skill instead of playtime. I want to master a killer and show it and not just grind.

But with both its the same: people want them bc they are rare. So they need to be hard to earn. And if they are hard to earn there will be people who use other methods to get them. In other games they buy accounts. Wasnt there something similar wirh the event skins and behaviour made them free for all bc of that?

I have to say, that's some nonsense, if it shows it on the PS5 why can't it just show it on the PlayStation website. Damn Sony's dumb.

The only trophy I don't have is the Skilled Huntress one. I'd love to see my progression on it (it's probably like 10%, so 10 of 100 downs)... unfortunately, I've heard that trophies earned playing on the PS4 don't transfer to the PS5; I'd be starting from scratch. :(

Anyway, it's unlikely I'll be getting a PS5. Sony's new policy of "censor everything!" not only turns me off but has game companies pulling away, too, so if I ever get a next-gen system it'll probably be an Xbox.

Thanks for letting me know, though. :)

I'm not going to argue the system is perfect, good, poor, or otherwise. I'm just stating that you can easily max out your categories by working with others.

I also personally haven't met too many people that run away from me when I want to work with them. That said, I don't usually meet many that go out of their way to work with me either. That's another reason I typically hunt for totems earlier, it lets me know who is where and where to go. Bond definitely helps in this regard too, but it's not necessary either.

    Edit:

I'll add that in my screenshot and original post, I implied that Steve joined the generator late. While this is true, he was actually doing a totem in the back room that I wanted and I only started working on the generator because I anticipated he would join me. If he didn't, I would have left.

I run away. Doing gens together without prove thyself is a time waste. So i prefer to do a gen alone. So if i do gens i get less points then when i get chased the entire game.

  • 2 months ago. I joined a kyf-looby and after that we played as 3man 2 matches.

  • Sprintboost is slightly stronger, but harder to use. You need to manage your exhaustion all the time. Dead hard is easier to use in chase so you can trick a killer in commiting to much and you can take more risks at short loops. But sprintboost works against one-shots and against stealth killer in a deadzone.

  • My problem are not the green ranks. But as rank 9 i get matched with grey ranks. Its a time waste. I commited to a gen with a meg. At 99% (legit half a second left) i got grabbed by the spirit and got carried to the hook. I was fine with it bc it was my first hook but then the meg ran away. Instead of repairing the last second while the killer carried me 10 seconds to a hook, she used the time to run to the other side of the map.

  • I got a 18 winstreak without addons with this perks: Thrilling, Pop, Stbfl, Corrupt.

Corrupt gives you a high chance for a good early game and survivor cant hide from doctor. Save the best for last makes your chase stronger. Pop delays and thrilling helps you to find the right gen to pop. I prefer thrilling over bbq bc it has less counter and you can shock someone on a gen and then block it.

  • Dbd is a game, where new players have no idea what they are talking about. If you would play 1000 hours, you would change your opinion 50 times, bc experience means a lot.

1 … 27 28 29 30 31 … 54
