  • Not unless we could kill him in game considering he gets his ass kicked at the end by what would potentially be the main survivor wanted in the game from that franchise

Surge explosions wouldn't trigger Oppression. Oppression needs the kicking action, same like on Pop and Overcharge

EDIT: just checked that the perk said "damage" not "kick". Is it confirmed that this works?

He's saying that surge would cause gens to regress and then if you chased a survivor off a gen and kicked it then oppression would start regressing 3 additional gens seperate to those that surge affected

Oh man, yeah. I can see how Oppression will be painful on Doc. Especially with Overcharge too.

Yea if you can get good pressure early on with that build it's hard for the survivors to get anything done with having to snap out of it every so often and not being able to finish gens uninterrupted in some sort of way

  • I just want to know why we can't put victor in the fire barrels?

  • @PanicSquid said:

Surge+Oppression might be an okay combo.

Surge hits the gens near you, then oppression gets up to 3 more regressing. So you defend your 3 gen, and make the far gens regress with oppression.

This right here on the doctor was a good combo for me today, I got a 4k with only 2 gens completed on coal tower

This whole thing of nurse being hard to master is the biggest over exaggeration in Dead By Daylight history, you can learn how to blink in a day of playing her, in a week you'll be 3/4King most matches.

It's learning not to get carried away with her blinks and using them to make them count for something more than just gaining distance, also identifying what kind of runner you have is important, is he a double backer or a full sender? Some people think she is way harder than she is because they hop in and start trying to be blink master 5000 and truth is her power can hurt you if you over use it and stay exhausted , a more methodical approach is what makes a good nurse picking and choosing blinks and making sure you always let your blinks fully recharge before you try to use it

  • I feel like it's a good perk for a Doctor build if that counts for something

  • I wish people could just be happy for once , this isn't a bad chapter and it's still in ptb alot of things can be changed between now and release, I really like the idea they've got going with this killer and I feel like there's alot of potential there , this also helps advocate for smaller killers like Chucky being in the game at some point is also why I'm not against this.

This stuff is completely not my department. I do game design; skins are managed by other teams. :)

Yes I understand that but my question was if the licensing would cost the same if they got permission to use Chucky as a skin or as a new killer? You may not be aware of what it would be but I thought you might is why I tagged you

  • @Thatsmartguy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1741727#Comment_1741727

I kinda doubt it will cost the same mainly because it's not getting is own chapter, powers, or new map. It's just gonna be an add on but honestly I dont know. But I wouldn't think just for a skin it wouldn't cost the same as it would like Micheal or freddy.

Well I'm not so sure because they're just getting rights to use the character and that would almost be the same thing when obtaining the licensing , they would show the skin to them and show them what the twins power is etc... They would still have to do all that to get permission I would believe but I could be wrong , if it's indeed cheaper then they should absolutely hop all over this but I'm just skeptical and I wouldn't be surprised if it were the same cost.

  • I wonder if the licensing cost would be the same either way , a question for a developer I guess? @Peanits @not_Queen @Almo ? But I think it would be great to have in the game as a legendary skin if it wouldn't cost the same...

If the cost is the same I would rather have a whole new killer to be honest, so that way we could make the most of it and be able to enjoy more than just the skin for the same cost and have a better experience for Chucky.

The Nurse is the only killer that turns a chase into skill vs skill. If you're better than the Nurse, you win. If not, you lose. Just the way the Entity intended.

If you get caught in a bad position, you should get hit - it's called a consequence. This is not a point against the Nurse so much as it is a point in favor of buffing the Demogorgon's Shred.

Not only that but as a nurse main I'll tell anyone who complains about swf to learn her before they complain, I don't care how good the survivors are if you have an infectious fright nurse that knows their ######### those guys are going down , yea calm spirit can counter that somewhat but she's definitely leaps and bounds above any other killer on a tier list, if I could put her above S tier and leave S empty I would as a show to how strong she has potential to be compared to the rest.

  • Oni can straight up run the loop with the survivor while in his power if someone takes the time to master his ability, he's a very slept on killer that alot of people don't realize how strong he is, they try him once or twice and then get frustrated and drop him but in my tier list he's right on the same level as billy due to how much snowball potential his power has and how fluid he can turn corners while using it

  • Oh yea I see now sorry I'm still not totally awake yet lol , I would be able to get behind an idea like this I think it could be something that adds a little more spice to the game after all this time of the same ol same ol, maybe even shake the meta up a little bit by people wanting to try different things

  • If they did add that it in , it should be that you can equip four perks of your choice and then add any generic perk that already comes unlocked as a fifth , that way you would be limited on what your fifth slot would be and you couldn't couple more meta perks in to totally break the balance

Hi! So, I'm a complete newbie, both to DBD and multiplayer vs games in general. My friend convinced me to buy the game for my Switch (my only console, no computer) a few days before Halloween. I've been scrolling through the forum a bit, and watching YouTube vids to try and get a grasp on the gameplay mechanics, but there's one thing I'm kinda fuzzy on: gameplay etiquette.

My basic question is: what is considered rude/trolling/salty/etc? I'm asking because my dumba$$ wasn't aware that rapid crouching is considered 'teabagging'. I kinda viewed it as jumping up and down, which I do in other multiplayer games as a way of showing excitement. Thankfully, I haven't done it to a killer or anything, but it made me wonder what else I should avoid doing so I don't come across as a d!ck on accident.

    Thanks in advance!

Bro it's a game , play however you want to have fun and as long as you're happy that's all that matters, the people who take this game too personal are the ones you want to avoid

  • Old freddy was way too easy to beat , and with the new healing buffs to we're gonna live forever, having desperate measures and soul guard as perks available now it could never work , if anyone ran that build they could just keep healing each other in his face and getting away with it due to him having to put you to sleep just to hit you while you're healing in front of him, you cant escape with any current killer on the roster while trying that build because they have the ability to stop the heal and trade survivors, it would be pure hell to play old freddy with everything survivors have available perk wise now , or if anything he would just get genrushed because his power did nothing for him in a chase .

  • That's his story it's not something they made , I mean to be fair this is an adult game for adults who can handle this sort of thing , nobody complains about deathslinger having a gun at a school in midwich or in badham but in real life that's no joke , point being it's a video game and if you can't handle it don't play it's rated the way it is for a reason and the horror icons have some gruesome back stories

You are looking at it wrong. I'm in the SAME boat as you. My drive to reach Rank-1 playing only Myers as a Killer is so painful and hard now that I can't adequately describe it. It will always be an understatement. You just enjoy the challenge.

You play ONLY as myers at red ranks? This man deserves a medal of honor , that's gotta be rough I would get tired of that pretty quick

From what I just read, it seems like someone trying to justify their behaviour by blaming the opposition. Scott Jund did a great video in it called... I dont remember the name, but it had "Player Entitlement" in it. It was a decent showcase of how much people's desire to be seen favourably twists their personal reality.

I don't know what it is about this game but it really brings out the worst in some of these people and Scott is right about the entitlement. Some of the stuff I've been seeing people say in the post chat is pretty disgusting lately, even threatening people's lives outside the game or once a player started typing another players real name and address and all his info into the chat, people just get way too upset and act terrible over a video game.

Asking someone to own up to something implies that they're doing something wrong.

They aren't in the game but when the survivors were actually being polite in his stream to my surprise after the game he insulted them and said that someone was always there taunting him but nobody was until two gens popped before a survivor came to check on the guy on hook , it's totally fine to camp but don't insult other people and call them bad when you can't even own up to something like camping? I'm more talking about the making excuses and hurling insults like an adolescent part of it being wrong.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

If he really was camping that bad how come only two survivors made it out?

Because they were started one for one on hooks once they realized what was happening and one of them who died at the end, died on their first hook and then he started trashing the people who escaped saying they were bad , I'm just saying the dude should own that he facecamped and not insult the survivors who beat him

  • @Terro said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/202620/the-survivors-are-right-there

As a 3rd person viewer things can seem pretty different on your end. For the other person playing they could not mean to camp but they didn't leave fast enough. Maybe they thought some1 was nearby, they were planning to go somewhere but changed their mind, etc. To anyone else judging they're purposefully camping and making excuses.

The man didn't go 8 meters away and two gens popped while he was staring at dude on the hook, I know exactly what was happening and he could at least own it and admit that's how he was playing instead of making excuses and dogging the survivors that beat him

  • @NekoGamerX said:

camping in the game to stay nothing we can do about it.

Yes I totally get that and I'm cool with it , nothing we can do but people shouldn't make excuses while they're streaming and start trashing the people who survived on them , especially when they chose to try and camp everyone into stage two , sure a survivor came over there after a couple gens popped to see what was going on and tried to get a chase going but he wasn't committing just straight camping and forcing a one for one on hooks

I’m on Xbox but no. Only the last few days since most recent update. I’ve never had a random connection just drop before. My internet is outstanding. My network has run flawlessly up until this point.

If there's a way to test the hard drive on xbox that's where I would start I had one that did the same thing and was told by microsoft that if you played consistently on the system the hard drives are only good for 3-5 years , so if had your xbox for years or bought it pre owned there's a chance this could be happening , I would just keep an eye out and if it keeps happening it's bad drive and it's time to upgrade

Keep in mind you only see part of the truth, people don't get "surprisingly banned", they break the rules a certain amount of times before that happens, or they don't get banned for nothing, sometimes they omit part of the truth to make it look like they are in the right.

Also harsher punishments we apply don't usually come from a decision of a single person, there's a thought process behind and there's a discussion in the team to decide if it's the right call or not.

Sometimes you guys get in your feelings and overreact by issuing punishments some people didn't deserve simply because the mod didn't agree with what was said , I've saw other people complain about the same thing before , I'm not saying you do this but it is a problem in your team and some of you shouldn't have the authority if you can't use it properly

Here i am having a great time playing with some friends. Have a whole day lined up to take advantage of double blood points. I enter the game, touch a gen and I’m frozen for about 10 seconds then disconnected. I am given the following error and to my disgust, i see a 6 hour DC penalty to punish me. Entire day is ruined. How can you guys in your right mind continue to keep a DC penalty when you have ZERO way of removing it from players that have errors and could care less about the time you are wasting of your customers. If this doesn’t get corrected, i think this will be the last time i deal with all your bugs and errors and find a game that doesn’t waste my time and day for something out of my control.

  • @Blueberry said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1718913#Comment_1718913

Honestly how often does this happen though really? I can count them on maybe one hand in many months worth of game time..hardly enough to ever be worth even mentioning it's so rare. Even if he is doing that, you spread out from each other and now he can only even pick one of you to do it to at a time...

This annoying scenario is just pretty unrealistic/rare and can be prevented quite easily, not to mention it assumes they want to just throw the match intentionally.

I only notice it when the legion player knows they've lost and I'm not saying it's unwinnable or all the time I'm saying the game drags out further when they choose to just frenzy for the hell of it and patrol the gens without committing to anyone

  • @Blueberry said:

Why are you healing against Legion?

If you're not healing and he's FF'ing you while injured, how are you not winning? That generally means he's playing bad.

Some legion players will just try to be annoying though and FF even when you're injured just because they know you have to stop and take time to mend, I think thats what OP was talking about.

In a scenario midway through the game if the legion player feels like they've lost or are gonna lose they will stall that game as long as possible with FF and not even try to commit to any chases just gen checking and FF to slow it out as much as possible and then everyone finally either finds a way to power through or they get so damn bored they just die on purpose to go to the next match because it's not fun to hold m1 the whole game

  • @dugman said:

If the survivors haven't completed a gen or two by the time someone is dead that's on them really. The first gens are the easiest ones to finish, that's how the game is supposed to work. And most games are supposed to end with some survivors escaping (i.e. say 60% of games have 0-2 kills) so those first couple gens are, again, inteded to be quick while the last couple are the ones where most of the action is going to take place if it's a 3-4 kill game.

While what you say is true at the same time it's irrelevant because your team can get you killed so easily in this game , survivors may be strong when they work together but in a real scenario swf isn't all killers face and all it takes is for a salty individual who gets outplayed to decide they're done playing and the rest of the team will suffer unless the killer is a gigantic bot, either that or having survivors that don't do anything but hide is just game breaking for the survivor side because against a good killer if more than one survivor adopts the playstyle then all the work you're doing running is for nothing

  • I just had a infinite tier 3 myers this morning lol

  • Lol so I guess we're not gonna talk about the badham shack being broken ? It's got an invisible door on the side with no window and you can run right through

  • If you're gonna have a dbd game room you need a killer mask collection to go with it , Myers, legion, huntress, ghostface, pig , trapper, leatherface etc.. you get the point , also dbd themed shot glasses , have the room be a dark color with the logo on the wall kinda like the screen loading into the game and have that be the main wall design, and depending on your taste there is a ton of dbd themed merch to use on furniture, lighting , posters etc.. and I said the loading screen on the wall only because it would be outrageous to try and paint the walls like iron works of misery theme and it gives you a easier time finding stuff to match

  • The only thing I don't like about the pig is when she comes up to you because she can hear the trap on your head beeping and then they start trying to crouch follow so your timer will continue to go down while you're still technically being followed , I think the trap should quit making noise if she's within a certain range just to give a chance at stealthing

  • I see alot of people saying if they run OoO they'll tunnel them but if I'm running object it's because I want to be tunneled all game , I'll only tunnel if they farm in front of me and I've decided to go on a slugfest with infectious fright nurse because then I have multiple survivors off gens in my face against a killer who can ignore every bit of safety and make you pay for every mistake you make

  • I just want the middle finger emote, come on dammit take my money!!!

  • @TAG said:

I mean it's basically Sprint Burst without the Burst, giving you more than enough time to run to your desired route and get to a pallet before the killer reaches you. I would say it was a little too strong if it weren't for Exhaustion perks/Small pp/DS

There's too many unknowns to spinechill, if it's a stealth killer you don't know which direction they're coming from or if they just pass by and happen to hear your gen they could be on top of you before you get to leave the area, also if there are two levels to the map how do you know they're not chasing someone else in the lower or upper part from where you are? I guess that notification is gonna make half the people running it leave the area from the way people are talking here and in which case the gen isn't getting done and the killer isn't even concerned with them they're just paranoid because of the alert and start hiding from nothing

  • When perks like object of obsession exist it's a joke to ask for a spine chill nerf, imagine nerfing the dollar general version of object....

This discussion is not about pallets but the implementation of breakable walls and our opinion on them.

I feel like they're ok for the fact that some killers can use their power to break it faster and then it's completely dead with no pallets around, also generators are usually near by which means if you run that way and your team is on a gen the killer is getting a free hit with no safety around

Then quit finally instead of trashtalking others and making it a them vs us again.

That you think the Devs are amatuers already proves you know nothing about what you are talking about and how things work.

I don't agree with everything he says , but he's right about the devs being amateurs , how do you ######### up running and pressing a action button?, That's all this game really is and 4 years later everything is still broke in this game with arguably more bugs now than ever.

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

Because that vault point isn't a loop, it's the vault point equivalent of Decisive Strike.

With the breakable walls at the school it's absolutely not a strong vault at all anymore there was no reason to nerf that, it's no where near the equivalent of DS, the disturbed ward stairs window is way more broken then that fence loop even before the breakable walls

  • Well the killers you swing too early with have a big drawback when you try to m1 if you're just holding the button for a lunge , it's usually better to get right up on a survivor first and just tapping the button instead of holding it will usually get you the hit but where you're used to the smaller killers and the big lunge they have ( having the same sized hitboxes as the taller killers also) it's throwing you off because you feel just as close, but holding the lunge on the m1 in certain situations give survivors a big advantage in juking you because they can fake windows or pallets and abuse the aim dressing , or 360 you way easier because it's more drawn out than a quick swing and you're a bigger character model

  • Look buddy I'm not trying to hate on you but this is a video game that alot of us have played for years now and this is the first event you had to pay for to basically get anything out of it and had no option to grind when it first came out, what's even worse is they chose to cash grab while millions of people were furloughed around the world with a pandemic going on , are the devs bad people? Of course not I'm sure they're great people in person but sometimes they make very questionable decisions that are not that well thought out and that's the giant elephant in the room for everyone is how the hell does this stuff keep happening after 4 years? Someone at the top needs to have some of their work more spread out or involve more people so decisions like this event aren't finalized and sent out only to be changed like 3 or 4 times during the event with apologies, MORE needs to be done in the testing area for these changes before they drop, just look at the ######### the ps4 players are dealing with right now it's totally unacceptable for a game averaging over 100 million a year (probably way more now) in profit in 2017 alone before the cosmetic shop was even a thing to not have their ######### together and be on top of this stuff by now

  • Toolboxes are trash now, your best bet is to go straight to the gens in the middle of the map and pop those first so the killer has to run the whole map just to check a gen, the best survivors will split up on gens from the start and if they decide to play that way it will be over in roughly 3-4.5 minutes as long as people are actually running the killer and not going down in ten seconds

Oh they do, its just there should me consequences for the disarm.

    Such as:

    -Traps no longer wound

-When disarming a trap, the survivor accidently cuts themselves inuring themselves

-Traps can not longer be wiggled out, and must have a survivor to get you out of traps

-Iridescent add on "Bloody Coil" are changed to "Traps can no longer be sabotaged"

-The trapper starts with two traps

-1 trap less appears in the trail

There, easy fix that doesn't make him useless and doesn't make him op.

I'm pretty sure they already made it to where his traps can't be Sabo anymore

  • Well apparently you did everything but the 5 totems that stop noed from spawning in the first place
