It told us nothing! -
Welcome back @Wolf74 Not surprising to see you unhappy with an anti-tunnel perk!
Jokes aside, I agree with you. I don't intentionally tunnel and early game I always go after a fresh target anyway while the first person chills out on the hook. Having said that I don't think anyone can say they've never hooked the same person twice less than 60 seconds after the unhook. Sometimes that's just the situation you find yourself in, especially if survivors try to rush unhooks right in front of you which they will probably do more now, and I do feel more people will take this perk. This is why I think the timer shoud be reduced to 40 seconds, discourages hard tunneling at least because honestly tunneling was a major problem in low ranks and it needed a drastic change.
I do think overrall this will help survvivors. Sometimes you 2 hook a few people and it gets down to 1-2 gens left and you need someone out of the gane pronto, and someone gets unhooked near you and they're already injured etc it sucks but it's the nature if the game. That is no longer an option now. Or sometimes the injured unhooked person is the only person you can find etc
I'm just hoping that if this hurts killers overrall then the new endgame content will balance it out again. -
To be honest I couldn't care less about a new killer right now, it's all about those DS changes for me. I want to see if it's as much a pain in the backside as the old one was.
Why did they tease us with the announcement? They know how much this means to a lot of us!!! -
Well just because there would be totems left on the map it wouldn't tell you if the killer had NOED or not.RoKrueger said:I don't like the idea. I prefer it to be a surprise. I want the survivors to fear the hit of the killer's weapon when the generators are done. -
See this is the problem.
Survivors complain about moris, iridescent heads, Noed etc ruining their fun and personally I would agree with them.
But then you yet groups like those above and it exposes the hypocrisy and you realize that some of the OP things the killers have are there to balance it out. -

.. -
They are going to address the disconnects after the dedicated servers are sorted.
Which is fine by me. Sometimes the ping looks fine in the lobby but as a survivor you end up blinking around the map like the nurse anyway. Nothing you can do in those games but leave. You cant play when you're getting teleported around every few seconds.
-
The counter should not be tied to a perk.
I'd say give this information to the killer for free too, and buff TOTH so it either gave notifications of dull totem cleanses for killer or gave an indication of where dull totems are at least so they can defend them.
@Tucking_Friggered Small Game is meant to tell you when you're near one and looking in its direction, saying its useless because it doesn't tell you the number is like saying it's worthless right now.
-
I often find myself put with the people who sneak towards the hook, get spotted and think "oh ######### the killer is on me I better get to the hook a.s.a.p!", So then they dash to the hook with the killer in tow and then they realize "oh wait, it might not actually be a good idea to unhook right now" and so they just loop the killer around the hook instead ensuring that nobody else can safely unhook during this time.
PSA: If the killer spots you and gives chase then run AWAY from the hook, not towards it. -
I leave DS users on the floor when they're the last one left. I'm content with them bleeding out. Mostly they start looking for the hatch and then I dribble them to the first hook they go near.
No reason for me to take the stun. -
Thats what they do. They tbag when they get the upper hand, but as soon as it goes your way they go straight for the disconnect button.
Brats. -

NOED has always been a major complaint of survivors, maybe, just maybe a totem counter would help alleviate the pain that some feel.
You could have a totem counter displayed at all times like gens.
You could just have it appear for 5 seconds everytime a totem is cleansed.
You could just have a different coloured explosion and sound effect when a dull totem is cleansed so the survivor knows the area it was found in.
But yeah I definitely feel solo survivors need something. It's too easy for SWF and too hard for solo. Killer gets an easier life due to an adjustment to DS so it's only fair that the survivor role gets an easier time with this adjustment to NOED.
-
A lot of people wanted both DS and NOED gone or changed.
We all thought DS would never be changed and would be pushed back forever, but now that it seems like yes things actually do happen it's not surprising that people are showing their frustration with NOED.
The developers need to do what they did with DS, look at the issues and address them with a few changes.
Problem 1) Provides a big boost to killers who did very poorly during the rest of the trial. Robs the feeling of victory away from the opposing side.
Problem 2) Highlights the huge discrepancy between solo survivors and SWF
Problem 3) Allows killers who camp 1 guy out a chance to get the other survivors. Enables toxic playstyles.
People have come up with suggestions. Information on dull totems cleansed would solve problem 2, and having some kind of penalty if a killer stands in front of a guy all game would solve problem 3.
It would still be an OP perk but at least if those 2 things changed maybe we could live with it. Very simple changes too. -
Stopping dribbling on a pickup makes sense since the idea is to have the skillcheck finished by the time the pickup is complete anyway.
The issue is if survivors can exploit this by jumping in lockers to force a pickup and avoid slugging. I asked but haven't receieved an answer so far. I feel that would be unfair. -
It would but some people won't hear anything of it because they don't want the totems cleansed, they want NOED to activate.ClogWench said:
I wouldn't say it's weak against SWF. Just not AS strong. Putting a totem counter in would fix a lot on that front without ever having to touch NOED itself.The_Crusader said:But the problem is NOED is weak against SWF and strong against solo due to totem co-ordination.
All the while they lobby dodge SWF. -
It gives new players a chance? Same could have been said about Decisive Strike. Just like DS there is nothing stopping experienced players from using it.
It helps weaker killers? I agree, the problem there however is that Billy and Nurse players can still use NOED and I run into many that do so.
So its really the same situation as DS. An OP perk that gives new players an easy boost when really they should "git gud" and it's something that makes good players with strong characters extremely dominating. -
But the problem is NOED is weak against SWF and strong against solo due to totem co-ordination.
-
Why not? You get them as you grind for perks.
Tbh I usually don't use them but if I do it will be a med kit. Comes in handy, isn't OP.
If nobody has a toolbox then I might bring one, cant have too many otherwise you get lobby dodged. I mainly bring these when I use points offerings though.
Flashlights or keys I never use. -
At the very least...
- Survivors either get a totem counter, or they get an explosion effect on screen when one is cleansed (but different to the regular explosion)
- Too many penalty points for camping and NOED doesn't activate.
In terms of a rework, let me think...
It needs to be the perk that punishes genrush.
- After a generator is completed, a dull totem on the map lights up blue. Once the final generator is complete a random blue totem turns to yellow and becomes NOED.
So that works as it does now, except survivors can see the totems lighting up one by one after every generator so they have nobody to blame but themselves if they don't cleanse the totems then.
Theoretically this should be what the killers want - survivors slowed down by cleansing totems. Except it's not what they want, they don't want survivors cleansing totems because they want that surprise endgame clutch. Whack a few people down as they're opening the gates and get a few cheap hooks with it.
-
I still haven't seen that many disconnects against him to be fair, and I haven't had that many bad games against him.
It just sucks when they tunnel non-stop or use purple add ons. Kind of true for all killers though. -
I don't think it will change much.
At the moment the killer can easily hook the 3 non-obsessions befote they hit their 35%. Then down them and mori them and DS never came into play.
Only the obsession had a chance at using DS, and even then it was always possible to dribble them to a hook.
DS came into play over the full 12 hooks. Dribbling the obsession to the hook once was always easy, doing it 3 times in a row was when it became very difficult.
Same for 35%. Not too bad sometimes but f you went for a basement hook you'd get hit, or late game when hooks have been used on sacrifices and you're forced to walk further.
The chance of taking a DS increased with every hook you attempted to make. It wasn't too common when you only had 4 hooks to make.
Having said all that however I think they should remove the mori dailies. Usage sould decrease after this. It's pretty bad when the devs are encouraging players to use them like that. Myself and others I have asked mostly only use them for a daily, or if the group looks especially toxic. -
Feng because it's Feng.
But really since survivors are just skins youbwould probably be better off with the killer. -
A crutch on bad players and OP on good players with strong killers.
A perk that enables campers to get away with their crappy playstyle.
Adrenaline is technically balanced right now but would have to be nerfed if NOED was nerfed. Otherwise the endgame instaheal would be too strong.
I think NOED highlights the gap between solo and SWF more than any other perk, and that is what I would lile to be changed.
Give solo survivors information on dull totems cleansed and disable the perk if the killer spends too long near hooks or loses a certain amount of chaser points due to camping. See how it feels then. -

Anyway, this is about the same as my experience with solo survivor. Teammates won't encounter the killer at all cause he's on my ass and then get bodied endgame and be salty towards their team cause they feel not being targeted all game is synonymous with skill so obviously they didn't deserve to die.
No it's exactly the problem. He tries to do totems but gets abuse at the end. Plus when hes chased nobody else does totems.
So now he feels like swf is the only way to play, but then killers cry aboht swf and lobby dodge so the cycle continues. -
If there is a wall blocking line of sight you can perhaps mindgame them.
If its an unsafe pallet you can trick them into messing up.
If its a safe pallet with line of sight you have to play their little game, get the pallet drop and break it.

Ace's Aces.
-
I've never done it as I make sure I face a wall or that nobody is near me as I pick up a survivor.
That said if this is an exploit then so is looping, bodyblocking and jumping in lockers to avoid being hit. -
Well at least if they did that it might stop all the killer mains from whining about the game being too hard.
Then again I'm sure some would still want gen times increased on top of that. -

Simply because noed is a crutch perk like DS and not because DS is equal with noed. Both crutches, both most hated perks. Imo both should never been in the game and I think the only reason why it was in the game was 2016 when you could pop 4 gens in 20 seconds with BNPs
Too bad, deal with it.
I can deal with it, I just answered OPs questions from a neutral standpoint. Thanks for making yourself looking like a *****
Look at the entitlement and the toxic replies.
Some people just want their OP crutch. Winning is all that matters to them, there is no form of sportsmanship.

They get better as the ranks increase but ir's definitely the vast majority of mid to low rank Claudettes from my experience.

This is every Claudette ever. Why do you think they use the invisible character?
They're always the first to give up on gens and hatch camp. -
You can still turn away, you just can't drop the survivor to cancel the stun.Kaelum said:According to the discord chat, you buffed flashlights with this change as well, by increasing the flashlight save window by 0.5 seconds. Flashlights are already OP, why buff them?

A huge chunk of the community have always considered DS and NOED overpowered perks that reward bad player with an enormous crutch. Survivors wanted NOED gone, killers wanted DS gone, people in the middle like myself wanted both gone.
-

There were so many good examples of actual entitlement from killer mains you could've chosen from, but you decided to make stuff up instead. Why is that?
PS: Most people on this forum play both sides.
Every week theres a new post asking for longer gens, more gens, or self-care nerfed even harder. -
I've heard this happen a lot.
It's actually really funny. I've only tried aftercare a few times but when your teamnates are hatch camping at the edge of the map it becomes a new game entirely. You need to get each other killed then so you can take the hatch for yourself. -
If totems are no big deal then give solo players information on when and where a dull totem is cleansed like SWF have.
That's fair right? Or are solo players meant to be kept in the dark while killers continue to lobby dodge swf who may pose a challenge?
Also lol at the excuses when it comes to NOED. None of the complaints were ever about balance, they were simply about making one side easier and weaker.
Killer mains here will continue to defend moris and noed while pesting the devs to add more gens, more gen time, remove exhaustion perks, remove self-care etc same names every time. -
Its possible to play both but more one than the other, or play both but find one harder and ask for more buffs for it. Survivors struggle at first and killers find it too easy, then survivors learn how to loop and suddenly killers find it too hard as they commit to a 5 gen chase.Orion said:@The_Crusader said:
Well they can be just as bad lol they think current DS is fine and that it's ok to disconnect so your friend can get the hatch.Ideally you want people that play 50/50.
And that's actually what the majority of this forum is comprised of, people who play both sides equally. However, we get confused for "killer mains" by survivor mains because we recognize that the survivors are overpowered.
Or some people play a lot of solo but only swf and theres voice comms, ranking issues etc then they play killer, they're all along and they struggle.
Most important is that the game needs to be fun for both sides. It's obvious from some peoples posts and ideas that they couldn't care less how the other side feels as long as they get to win. -

That's the point, to nerf it because as you said it is indeed a crutch perk.KateMainNoBrain said:To me, this change seems good in theory, but the more I've thought about it... the more like a nerf it seems? First off, sure, it's anti tunnelling, but if you can only use it once then what good will it do really... It'll be the exact same as it is now: you'll use it, a killer will get offended (if they're the kind of killer who can't handle dstrikes) and they'll just tunnel you after you use it. Also, it kind of sucks because say you're the last person alive and maybe the killer played really scummy--tunnelling, camping, the whole nine yards--and you don't want them to get a 4k? There's no longer a light at the end of the tunnel, you're just dead if you get caught. I don't know, maybe I'm just another entitled survivor main, but this change seems killer sided... yet again.
Especially with how NOED isn't being looked at... it gets buffed to exposed effect at all levels while decisive continuously gets nerfed. NOED is the exact same as decisive, a "crutch" perk. A killer can play awfully and then when end game hits, they're able to find you off of the last generator and kill you in one hit. Both perks reward bad play styles, but maybe this DS change will turn out differently than it seems.
Tunneling will be punished harder now because if all 4 bring DS then the tunneling killer will be hit with an instant, easy skillcheck DS. Whereas now only 1 gets to do it immediately and that's if theh aren't dribbled.
Before I get accused of bias I do think NOED needs its own nerf too. Something to adjust the balance between solo & swf. -
Yeah it's a shame that right now Rancor is the only perk that really fits this.
Dying Light would be bad but its nerfed into the ground, and for the killer to pull it off without a Mori it normally means going for the obsession as soon as possible. Becoming the obsession even helps the survivors as it will remove a debuff.
Remember Me - again another one where its bad to be the obsession early on as it means tunneling but good later since you can open the exit gates faster
STBFL & PWYF = Ignore the obsession, good to be the obsession
I like the idea of obsession switching in theory but it needs more perks like Rancor where the survivors do not want to become the obsession. Then it gives the risk/reward they keep talking about. Reward is a free escape with DS, risk is the instadown and kill once the gens are powered. -
The irony? All the killer mains on here cry for nerfs to everything survivor yet its always "git gud" when it comes to their OP crap.Slayer said:

Here's the thing....You don't even need to use the new DS. Just having it will be a deterrent to stop the killer from tunneling you. Hell just having it in the game might make the killer think twice.
You don't even need it to be good. You know what killers are like, DS is like garlic to a vampire. Nobody wants to take one of those stuns because it's not a good feeling.
I think the idea of that person having DS may be stronger than the perk itself.
I know you are generally against NOED too but isn't it just like NOED?
Both sides have extra 5th psychological perk slot and people have to play around it.
As a killer, honestly, I didn't have much problem with borrowed time and I think that I will not have any problem with the new DS. Maybe, times is too long but we can judge it better when we see the actual change.
We will see it in the PTB I guess.
I feel the problem with NOED goes back to solo vs swf.
You can choose not to tunnel and then not take a DS. You can't choose good teammates who make an effort to cleanse totems lol
NOED isn't so bad in SWF because you tell each other when you're cleansing totems etc and it feels like a side objective.
However running around solo and looking for all 5 because the rest wont do any is a pain in the ass, especially if the killer is getting hooks, gens are popping and you're running around messing with totems.
I've heard people try to suggest ways that each player has to cleanse a totem thenself to not be affected by NOED. I think 1 totem is too little but I like the idea where each player has a task and only those who don't do it get hit by this ultra powerful perk.
Sprint burst? Needs to go
Toolboxes? Need to go
Self-care? Needs to go
Dead hard? Needs to go
Ebony moris, NOED, iridecsent heads, instasaw etc? Survivors just need to git gud and stop complaining.
Oh and thanks for proving my point. NOED is indeed pretty much worthless against SWF. Yet it's still overpowering against solo. It's a perk that is unfairly balanced. -
Spark of Madness needs to be recommended just for Feng alone.
Darkness Among Us - I'd have not recommended on both sides personally. Discordance can be pretty useful but still, Legion and 2 dud perks. -
It makes sense. People save their best toys snd offerings for when they play with their friends. 1) For fun, 2) They trust their friends more to play well, nobody wants waste a good item in a solo game where you do badly anyway due to potato teammates.
That's why swf always come in with the strongest items.
