  • I remember one time I look out into the corn fields and I see David running along. I'm thinking "wonder what he's running from"

Then a few seconds later I see this madman whizz past at 200mph wielding a chainsaw in the air and I'm like "Glad I'm not him".

  • I honestly don't get why the loading screen issues are taking so long. It has been months. I would imagine this is a priority fix for them too.

I think they asked for feedback before so I'm assuming its because rhey can't find the cause?

  • Lobby times have been bad for me the past few days.

  • Tbagging

    Looping

    Camping

    Tunneling

    Farming

    Disconnecting

    Flashlight clicking

Are those the 7 deadly sins of DBD?

  • NOED, like DS, is a crutch designed to give someone who played poorly an ez second chance.

As @Warlock_2020 said you get a lot better when you learn to play without it.

  • Salt flavour (common) Causes the survivor to disconnect when put into the dying state

Surprising that the surv mains ain't complaining yet to nerf SB

Surprising that many complain about it yet never counter it.

    SB = 20%

    BK = 33%

Job done. Lets not even get into WMI which is incredibly powerful. People want to bring their DS/Adrenaline/SB combo and aren't willing to take a perk to counter a perk. BK combos with SC anyway so it's incredibly useful.

  • The devs want to address here they just haven't got around to it.

I do think her and billy need some adjustments, and the bottom tier killers need some improvements. The killers will never all be equal based on how different their powers are but hopefully the gap can be closed a bit.

  • Both. They should present a threat to keep you on your toes but not so overpowering that they feel cheap.

  • If the Wraith is Ding Dong

Then is this killer Bing Bong? With the smoke and all that...

  • Oh boy. Lets not open that can of worms haha

I can kind of understand it on the weakest killers especially on pallet heavy maps but yeah the top tier ones shouldn't need it.

  • I don't mind playing against Legion too much but I don't find Legion fun to play as.

I'd imagine Of flesh and mud to be quite popular because of ruin, it's just that people either still think hag is weak or they don't want to bother dumping millions of bp into her and learning her.

    I guess.

It's hard to tell though when shards and shrine come into it. I.e. buying ruin off the shrine and ditching both, or people that bought Kate with shards and skipped the dlc pack.

Kind of glad less people use Hag. She's a pain in the ass when I play survivor. I think stats wise she was confirmed as the least used killer, followed by clown. Which is weird because both are pretty good.

The idea doesn’t fit the “oldest killer” premise tho

I think he meant love child as in their powers combined, not their actual child lore wise.

  • @not_Queen

Do you have rankings of the nost popular DLC from top to bottom?

Not looking for the actual sales numbers, just rankings.

E.g. I imagine the Halloween chapter would be near the top due to how popular laurie and michael are. Whereas you never see clown or Hag, so I imagine curtain call and Of flesh and mud would be nearer to the bottom.

  • @Peasant said:

I just had a horrific revelation. What if the new killer is the sad love child of the Wraith and Nurse?

The killer can change between a mist state and a solid state. He can go through walls while "Cloaked" in the fog state but must "Uncloak" into solid state to hit survivors.

I had that idea too, but there would probably an a transitional period like how the wriath unclocks.

At which point this killer would just be a wraith that can go through pallets/walls. I can't see it being that similar to the Wraith.

  • I can't wait the the ptb patch notes, where they tinker around with a few things to balance this killer and it somehow nerfs poor Freddy even further

    Darn.

  • That sounds pretty good. Loop the killer all game, they basically get free NOED at the end.

  • The question is, is the smoke hiding them just for the promotional image? To keep the killer secret? Or is that part of how it will be in-game? Which means the smoke may hide the killer or be a power used on the killer rather than the survivor. By that I mean Wraith and Spirit use their powers on themselves, whereas Clown, Huntress and Trapper use it on others.

As usual in this forum, the discussion revolves around fixing the symptoms instead of fixing the underlying issue (aka root cause).

People DC because they feel like or experience a situation they deem is unwinnable or unfair. If you play the game for a long time, you see a lot of things and develop some sort of sense about how capable you are against this certain group of survivors or how capable your team is. Nobody wants to stay in a game where you get to experience a great imbalance first hand.

So they real issue is not disconnecting. That's the symptom. The real issue is imbalance. May it be unbalanced killers, unbalanced survivors, unbalanced maps or unbalance ranks/match making, you name it. It makes more sense to approach the underlying issues. Because fixing them will result in less DCs and a game that's fun to play.

    Just my 2 cents.

In a minority of situations I agree. More so in high rank where people D/C less.

In low ranks they'll often d/c for no good reason most of the time.

Disconnecting against an Iridescent head camper or slug build nurse I can understand, but when people go down in a fair chase against a weak killer because they played poorly then it's just childish behaviour.

  • It looks supernatural.

Nurse, Spirit, Hag.....I think the team are at their best when they aren't confined by the killer being more human i.e. guy with a deadly weapon. It allows for more creativity. So I think it could be a good one.

  • Mostly yeah.

That's why I'll bring We'll Make It or Botany Knowledge to counter it.

  • @Eninya said:

I'll suicide on the hook in any game that opens with Hillbilly getting a chainsaw down in the first 20 seconds. Even the Nurse can't do that.

Some killers are miserable to play against, like the Doctor--whose entire design is god awful, and why he has a legendary disconnect rate.

Personally I like the Doctor, but I do agree with you about Billy. Sprints to a survivor and instadowns them in the first 15 seconds before you've even discovered that he has Ruin yet.

I think he could do with some adjustments.

  • I like those rare games where the killer just messes about with you. It's a nice change.

  • He's kind of right. Many of the killers I come across are pretty bad. It's always 1-2 hooks per game and then they rely on the NOED crutch.

I do think killer is harder to master than survivor though. With survivor all you have to do to be effective is learn how to run in a circle around windows and pallets. As killer it's trickier to learn how to counter jungle gyms and window loops and the like.

  • It sucks when they give up on the hook but it's rhe legal way out, you can't punish them for it.

Also some stuff is broken in the game and I'm not surprised people disconnect. Iridescent head games are the most boring games you can get in DBD. All that happens is Huntress camps hooks with a ranged 1 shot. Often has 2 people hooked together. It's so dull and arguably OP. Silly things like that need balancing other people will disconnect.

If you push too hard for punishments people will just stop playing the game. There is work to be done for sure and many peiple disconnect for no good reason but it's going to take more than just wait timers and instabans to change a community habit.

  • But that was the problem with it before, that it could be activated at anytime and was thus too powerful and too unfair on the other side.

The aim of the rework is to change that.

  • The new DS will punish them at least.

  • I like this theme much more than the last. I prefer creepy killers like Nurse or Hag to more human psychopaths.

It says demise of the faithful.

So does it mean that there was a religious guy and something happened to him? There are blisters on his arm and it looks like he is burnt.

There is also smoke coming out of his lamp (?). What kind of power can he have with something like smoke?

That's a point, it does look burnt. Would make sense with the smoke too.

I'd say a Witch perhaps would be cool but this doesn't really give me that vibe.
  • I have to admit the disconnects make me laugh.

You outplay them then suddenly *DONG* and their character just instantly falls face first flat on the floor dead.

The saltyness of the person, the sound effect and character animation all combined crack me up sometimes.
  • So the relgious theme was right.

But some killers were tunneling so much it really sucked the fun out of the game for a lot of people.

Just slug if you bump into them. Slows survivors down but they dont take a hook. Its good for both sides. I used to slug when people got unhooked in front of me anyway. It stopped me from being hurt with genrush but it also gave that survivor a second chance.

And slugging is more fun for the survivors?

Oh boy, the salt I collect with my slugging builds.....

If its a full slugging build and you're trying to slug everyone no.

If its a quick slug IF you're caught fresh off the hook, it's preferrable imo to another hook.

It's just more sporting over simply throwing them back on the hook right after they got off. You aren't trying to keep them slugged, just out of action possibly tying up another survivor traveling to revive them while you buy more time to down the chicken that made the save in the first place and then ran off to hide. Done right you tied up three survivors for awhile instead of just one.

    Yeah that's what I mean.

It givrs them a chance because they aren't hooked again, and it slows them down so that the killer doesn't lose out by letting them go.

    It's a good compromise.
  • Don't do gens, take the hatch instead.
  • @not_Queen I wasn't serious with that comment lol Think the DS thing has mostly blown over for now, at least until people get to test it out anyway.
  • The perk thing sucks and all you can do for that is grind.

As for losing, honestly if you can do ok with Trapper and Doc then you will clean house when you start using stronger killers. Trapper and Doc are pretty weak. Give it a few games as Hillbilly, Spirit or Hag and you will be much more dominating.
  • - Killer reveal during livestream monday

    - PTB tuesday

    - Live counselling session for those butthurt by the DS changes on Thursday
  • You know thinking about this logically...

    - If you down them at the exit gates you can pick them up and carry them if they're "fresh" since they wont have DS.

    - They can only use DS if they have been hooked within 60 seconds previously.

    - As Pig you would have probably put a trap on them before that.

    - It is extremely unlikely that the survivor would get off the hook at endhame, remove the bear trap, then run to the edge of the exit gate all within 60 seconds. It can happen but it wont be common.

So really as long as you put a trap on them before you hook them you should be ok.

If "Devisive" Strike is the problem what about Unnerving Presence?

That perk will reduce the skill check success zone, increasing the odds of failure. Plus it synergizes with some of Amanda's Add-ons, doesn't it?
Because the new skillcheck will be huge, unnerving wont be as effective as it was before. It reduces the chance but doesn't eliminate it completely.
  • Fire It Up and Agitation would be solutions. Fire It Up helps improve the speed at which Killers pick a Surivor up, and since the D-Strike happens when the pick up animation begins, the bonus speed will be useful. With Agitation, you can get a bit of distance to try and make sure they’re at least outside of the exit. I would also say that bringing Blood Warden would MAYBE be useful, but that’s a 50/50 shot.
Fire Up is not the solution to anything.

  • I think they're terrified after the DS change.
  • Its different teams man.

The people fixing the bugs are a different team to the people designing the cosmetics, designing the events, running the twitter/instagran accounts etc

My only real gripe is the infinite load screen. Its gone on far too long for such a severe bug.

I just played three games and all were Coldwind.
Serioisly, the RNG of the map spawn is a bit broken.
I'm thinking that's the reason why Heart Locket is so uncommon in the Bloodwebs, because the "tremendously increases the chance to be sent to Coldwind farm" is the base and the offering is not needed.

    Uncommon?

Every other game the little **** use one if I play killer!

Hey, Rotten Fields is a good map!
Well what do you know...someone actually enjoys it!
  • It's actually surprising to see how many people are going crazy for this.

If it isn't the next killer then I think we have a fan favourite suggestion for one of the killers in next years roadmap.
  • At least remove Rotten Fields. It's got nothing going for it.
  • HEX: No one escapes death

Causes 50 totems to appear on the map. When the final generator is completed, a totem becomes lit and the exit gates become locked and cannot be opened, all survivors suffer from the exposed effect and theirnaura is permanently revealed to the killed.
