A removable perk doesn’t feel OP to me. None of the things you mentioned in your first post are removable by the killer. Ruin can be completely removed, making it useless for the rest of the game. One of a few reasons why I refuse to run it. It’s also completely counterable by hitting great skill checks - another thing your above mentions don’t have (a way to hit their trigger condition without actually being impacted by it). So, I’m inclined to say it’s not OP.
and thats your opinion but i feel if this game is going to survive for the next 10 years it needs more objectives that arent as hard to complete. i do not run ruin for the same reason when i play killer.

DS is not anti-tunnel, its anti-momentum like it always has been.
no its anti-tunnel, it makes you want to go after the other survivors, maybe it should only be activated if your in a certain radius of the killer when saved? but this is for a different discussion.

My thoughts:
- Please use paragraphs next time. The large, compacted piece of writing hurt my eyes 👁.
- I’d rather see a complete rework to Ruin and a slight nerf to gen speeds (nothing major) and/or decent nerf to toolboxes.
- I want map reworks to come into play where each side has a fair chance at winning, which Ruin wouldn’t have a fair place, (IMO. I don’t think Ruin is needed now, especially on fair maps, but on more survivor sided maps it can be extremely difficult and stressful. Reworking maps to be fair makes Ruin not needed and probably too strong. It would basically be a crutch.) thus, Ruin is reworked.
1) already fixed sorry
2) agreed

Doesn't need a nerf considering people can just stream snipe to see where it is and most of the time people spawn on it. A lot of people can hit great skill checks with ruin the idea to make it so good skill checks don't stutter the bar is op in itself sounds just like handholding for people who aren't good at skill checks. Ruin doesn't need a nerf and it isn't op...
Once you take out the totem it's gone unlike certain survivor perks that are constantly used *cough cough* dead hard. The only change ruin needs is better map placement...
ok, im talking about making it less annoying to go against, still as strong, and asking for better totem placements, did you even read it all????
-
why not be more serious, im trying to have an actual discussion, im saying that the percentages could be tweaked so that its still as strong, but make it to where progression doesn't stop on a good skill check.
if i guessed correctly you just skimmed over the post and didn't actually read it slowly.
here i will make it easier to read.

If everyone is running to find one perk, then that's on them. Ruin is strong but also weak because all you need to do is find it, break it and no more ruin. If you have good head phone or good at listening, you can just hear ruin. Most killers around that rank will constantly check to see if anyone is cleansing it so it helps the survivor's in finding it more than the killer. Even maps help counter ruin. Do survivors in those ranks not know how to just tap gens?
to answer your question: no they just run around like an idiot with their head cut off.
Maybe they could also revise all Totem Placements on the maps and make them super hard to find, i find that some are harder to find then others like i will find one totem out in the open, while another hidden in a tiny corner.
-
kidding lol but i saw it and had to pick it, probably needs some tweaking. (also it helps to always have an "other" option for people who arent thinking what the options are)
-
how about a killer who gets more powerful as each survivor DC's. (kidding... Unless ;) )
how about Clem from TWD Telltale (obviously with both legs) in her last season i would say she would be about the height of meg, and if not they could make her that high.

To answer your question - the other player DCing was not your fault, but for you to DC in that situation is your fault and it's not really justifiable. Quitting the game because you failed your challenge is just as bad as quitting because you got downed once or found in a locker, or any other reason aside from inescapable bugs, real life emergencies and games being held hostage.
he dced not because of an emergency or bug, but because he knew i was going to hook him, if someone dced and i wasn't chasing them then i wouldn't of dced because i knew that they prob had a real life emergency or bug and would of gone easier on the survivors, maybe even farmed, but i have only run into a handful of bugs and glitches that forced me to die/dc, but even then i still allowed the killer to kill me if i could, i got a bug the other day when i was playing trapper that kept trapping me in my trap over and over again for about 40 times until i was able to inch myself away enough each time to escape the bug, and i didnt dc because it would of ruined everyone's match, but what's the point of killing everyone if one of there survivors dced because that puts them at a huge disadvantage, so id rather dc right then and there and get to my next match and allow them to keep their items and add-ons instead of killing them all.
basically the dc penalties are needed now, and if bugs are a problem then dc and deal with a small ban, if you dont dc alot then you should be fine, also if you have a real life emergency im pretty sure your not going to dc from your game, instead just leave the game there and allow your person to stay in the match. if you were playing DBD and you just found out your dad got into a bad accident you wouldn't dc from them match you would get up and rush to the hospital. (also, if you're worried about a 30 minute or hour ban then your "emergency" wasn't that big of an emergency to dc from because an "emergency" would prob take at least over an hour to deal with)

His post count isn’t important, anyone is allowed to voice an opinion.
yeah but most people with under 100 posts are either new to the game and dont know stuff or still dont know that on this forum, you dont have to be so blatant with your opinions. i personally have had to learn this and still have some problems not being so rude.

I don't think they can interrupt hook grab mate.
sometimes the killer will get the grab animation for a split second, but if the survivor let go in time it doesn't grab them and results in a hit.

the 4 seconds it takes you to do that you could have finished the gen more than often . you're. not clever you're toxic. if someone missed a skill check just KEEP GENNING . if not YOU'RE THE PROBLEM
come back and complain when you have at least 250 posts
-
no
-
i just did it, you have to get lucky and only stun the killer when they arent using thier power, so good luck.
-
i feel it can be easily done, if DC penalties were apart of the game already, considering they're not its something i dont feel like trying because i will just become tilted. (on console)

I actually like the way they are right now. The reason I chose 3 over 2 is that there are too many factors for the challenges: a good map with good teammates and/or bad opponents can make these challenges really easy while a tough map against good players can make them incredibly hard and even a single DC can make quite a few challenges literally impossible to complete.
An alternate way to slowly complete the challenge would be a good way to guarantee that you don't just get outplayed by bad luck while still keeping them how they are right now if you want to complete them somewhat efficiently.
i like them too, but it shouldnt take me 20 trials to complete, or 1 if i have a swf group to help me

Believe it or not, since I am back to dbd I had not 1 time the stranger things map, until now.
Today I tried to make a archive task with the Trapper and I landet there.
I started to hunt a Blendete, then she dropped a pallet without me even being near to it and so I thought "let us tunnel this Blendete and take all pallets already in the early game out"...
But oh boy... I underestimated how many Pallets were on that map. It was crazy^^.
All the guys who cry about pallets... Guys go and play the stranger things map. You will go there insane.
Or did you guys think I exaggerate?
yes they purposely increased the amount of pallets, but the majority of them are bad palletes so after you use them you cant loop it without the killer getting a hit from it.

ill say what all the "good survivors" say #GitGudKiddo

A few things I noticed. Zubat is highly experienced killer, the survivors were all running with a raging devil in full motion, he also got lucky when he found them. Zubat just literally got lucky and caught them in a position where they couldn't loop. If those last 2 hid when they heard his fury until it was over, he would have only had one down.
On the flip side, I bet if you watched Zubat play survivor against an Oni, he would escape most of the time. Zubat is good at looping making chases so long they can finish 3-5 gens.
you do realize that he said that the clip he picked only showcased downing 3 survivors not all 4, and i know there is about 50 clips on twitch from the PTB where the oni downed all 4 survivors on very open maps

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
-
as long as they were not teabagging me or being very toxic beforehand, then i will let them live. Sadly i have only encountered survivors that booped my snoot like 4 times but very fun when it happens and they weren't toxic beforehand.
-
cant vote im on console sorry

idk i felt that with dedicated servers it should of hit

Whilst the resources might have been there, it's not as easy to implement as you seem to think - don't forget that we've had a few engine upgrades since last Winter and a lot of things have changed, it's not something that can be added in an hour! The decision has been made to focus on other things, and I fully support the decision.
ok what if it was just the winter music in the lobby, if it was just this it would still be more than nothing other than a blood hunt that i really have no need for since i have a p3 level 50 survivor with every perk, and a p3 level 50 killer with every perk

Mind if i steal this?
-
it isnt, the Devs are should of released a PTB and allowed players to volunteer to test the dc penalty bans and maybe as an incentive to participate reward 500,000 BPs for participating in it for a certain amount of hours.
-
not hard at all maybe take an hour
-
im a survivor main and can not wait for dc penaltys to come to consoles
-
literally the end time collapse ones were harder then these, from the time i got on dbd today at around 9 pm to about 12 pm, i was able to do all the killer ones to reach the end of tier 4 of tome 1, while tier 3 took me at least 2 days.
i just did killer instead of survivor due to the first survivor one being complete 10 gens making me want to wait for that one.
-
pretty please?
-
no because that would mean the game becomes "pay to win" (in certain regards due to the shrine) which is a big nono, now if you said you could spend iridescent shards, then it would of been a yes. and while an xp booster you buy with iridescent shards would make no sense since you get them from leveling up, maybe a BP booster for a certain amount of iridescent shards instead?
-
amazing
i missed the stream and love how you went over everything in full detail.

@Fibijean said:
DBD and Last Year are very different games because they play very differently. The only reason anyone is comparing them is they're both asymmetrical horror games with the basic setup of one killer versus a team of survivors, who have to escape or get killed. In some ways, Last Year has more in common with Deathgarden than it does with Dead by Daylight.
If I understand you correctly, you're essentially proposing two new features for DBD, inspired by their inclusion in Last Year: in-game voice chat, and the ability to "respawn" or at least continue to be a part of the match after death.
I'd just like to point out, firstly, that killers who want the game to be less challenging are not the only ones who aren't in favour of in-game voicecoms. In fact, I would go so far as to say that most of those who are opposed to it feel that way because of reasons related to how such a feature would affect survivor gameplay.
As for respawning, in my opinion a feature like that would change the game at a foundational level and throw off the balance completely, almost to the point of being unrecognisable.
It sounds like what you're really saying is you want DBD not to be a better version of itself but to be a different game from what it is. If you want Dead by Daylight to be more like Last Year, my question to you, with all due respect, is why not just play Last Year instead, since you seem to prefer its gameplay anyway?
because i love DBD, and i dont want to just leave it because i feel like im not alone in Last Year

Brutal Strength is the only one worth getting...if you don't have it.

especially with characters like laurie strode, her original clothes don't feel that she adapts to the new graphic engine especially with her hair.
i have noticed this as well, they might have to get the go ahead from the rights owners but with her new cosmetics i dont see this becoming a problem.

Also FYI - to get X amount of killer sacrifices, of course you can play killer and do it, but you can also just be in the terror radius of another survivor when they are being sacrificed. Yourself being sacrificed counts too.
@not_Queen @Peanits Let the team know about that one.
shhhhhh dont tell them my secrets (kidding)

im ######### dead.....

should of gone with the self care option, one sec making a new account

i thought this was a gonna be a rant, but honestly you are 100% right and i 110% support you and this.
(disclaimer, i do know that this isn't required to complete the rift, but if you want the BP, and the lore pages for yourself, then you are forced to complete this, and this is coming from someone who has completed every challenge up to the end of tome 3)
(disclaimer of the disclaimer, i do understand that the challenges in the tome will be playable after the rift closes to unlock the lore and maybe BP and/or the rift fragments [i doubt the rift fragments but idk], but they still support a play-style the requires you to go out of your way and half ######### to do, i personally was able to complete some of the challenges that require you to do something, in one trial, on my first try while running solo, but i can see how some people who dont have every perk unlocked at tier 3 on one survivor and one killer could find this annoying and/or hard)
-
i want this but its prob going to be thier main 4 surv characters and 3 killers until they finish them.
-
YASSSSSSSSSSSSS WITH RIPLEY AS SURVIVOR!!!!!
-
forgot Nea
-
people who are trans identify as Trans-male or Trans-female so they may of picked male or female
-
i used to dc a lot due to bad teammates, then after the game i would see i was rank 10, my teammates were 15, and the killer was 1, perfectly balanced as all things should be.
-
back then it took 3 times the BP it took to get one character to P3 level 50 thats why they added legacy for getting it before the cut-off because of the shier amount of time it took to get to P3 level 50. it was earned. (picked wrong answer). maybe for P3 level 50 now they could make a special skin you got other than legacy tho as a reward since their is none.
