If you love Pig so much, why don't you marry her! 😃
Wait, that's both a terrifying and adorable image.

5 is a lot, but for me (considering I've been playing for less than a month):
Best:
- Graphical update
- Hag is awesome to play
- The ability to turn chat off
Worst:
- SWF
- Removal of killer matchmaking
- Removal of special SWF matchmaking

Umbra speaks the truth tbh. SWF is the "I did bad, but don't want to admit my mistakes" argument. I haven't seen a real sweaty 4 man swf who all run DS+ unbreakable in a while, and most of the swf I see are just having fun, using dumb builds like breakout and MoM.
Here is a 'depip' squad. They (3) queued up together with a friend on a fresh 20 to terrorize and derank lower ranks. Had it out in postgame with them, they weren't even shy about it.
A full SWF stack. Note my rank. Managed to get 2 kills by camping and trapping enough to cover an XL pizza with cheese. They were BM as hell.
It's very clear when people are running an SWF. They have uncanny coordination and information sharing and either split between gens perfectly, using a lookout to keep track of me and then stealthing away the second I approach or constantly collapsing on me immediately the second I'm about to hook someone.
When 4 players plop into your lobby simultaneously with names like 'toxicsurv1' 'toxicer' lolsotoxic' and 'toxictoxictoxic' it doesn't take a genius to work out what's going on.

I mostly play Clown, and his only pressure comes from the chase. Which means it’s extremely important for Clown to be quickly moving from chase to chase. So I’ve had to force myself to be extra attentive to environmental cues in order to quickly find survivors. Here’s my tips.
- there’s no shame in using tracking perks. Bloodhound is still a regular favourite of mine in anti heal builds (and it’s a god send in finding slugs with the current sound bugs). Don’t discount Whispers, Spies, or anything else that could help you find survivors faster. Survivors can’t rush gens if you’re always quickly finding them and quickly ending chases.
- Always keep an eye on the horizon as you’re searching. Be extra watchful for crow activity in the distance. Also realise that in any areas YOU are disturbing crows means that those are areas survivors have NOT recently been in.
- Listen for their breathing. Stridor is NOT just for Spirit if you have trouble with this. Survivors can hide in shrubs and grass all they like, it doesn’t stop them giving off sound cues.
- If you’re certain survivors are in an area, slow down. Where would YOU hide if you were playing survivor. It doesn’t become all that difficult to spot survivors in shrubs, grass, bamboo, or corners once you realise how predictable these hiding spots are. Crows suddenly return to a perch near a rock or shrub? Check it.
Stridor is certainly an interesting idea. Man I wish I could run 5 perks.

but why tho your literally just turning down the challenge of playing killer, thats a pretty shithead move
Shrug. I really don't care at this point. They can get a new killer to roll. I've run into so many BM SWF premades that are obviously abusing grouping with a lower ranked person to destroy new players that I'm not going to bother anymore.
Give killers matchmaking back and reimplement the old SWF system where you would be matched against a killer of an equal rank to the highest ranked person in the SWF. Then we can talk.

Not ***ing on anyone mate, just describing a playstyle that I find aggravating and asking for suggestions as to how people deal with it.

Problem is it only works on Basic attack downs, has a relatively small range because its not tied to Terror Radius so can't be manipulated further AND has a cooldown. It really limits the scope of which killers can use the perk optimally and those that can usually get less value from it by being led just a few meters too far away before getting the down. Sure it gives random value with Thrilling Tremors - but it doesn't have the consistency to be used over something like Pop goes the Weasel. Things like Hex:Ruin + Hex:Undying is also far more slowdown consistent for the time being as well.
Well...yeah. It's niche. As are a lot of other perks.
Which is sort of a problem in and of itself.

Hag with the silent trap add-on and placing them in a web around the area should be able to get them in some way. You have to assess how much time they woulda had to make distance and search that area. If their not setting off traps their not running or walking which means their crouching with or without urban evasion that's still a small area to search. Yamaoka especially is hard to find them but it's not impossible. Just to be clear I'm not saying git good or anything. It's hard either way but there's things you can try to do.
You can search the area, but you won't see them in the bushes, as they will rotate slowly around you.
And yes, there are addons and killers that can somewhat counter this - but you can't run them every game in anticipation of this sort of style. You'll run out.

I definietly agree, the matchmaking is horrendous. But still, you should try and play the game normally, because you will not learn anything new by camping. I can see by the points that you did very well in the second match. 29k points and 2 kills is a very good outcome.
It doesn't work. These groups run extremely stealthy with a lookout. You barely even see them until the final gen. And trust me, as a new/intermediate player there is nothing to learn from these games aside from 'well, now I need to be nastier'.
Know how I got those two kills? I stuck someone in the basement and planted a minefield of traps over the entire area. Yup, it was nasty but it's better than ending up with zero BP and people mocking me at exit. Especially when it's two top rankers queuing in with a level 20 buddy to stomp lowbies (I was rank 14 in that match).
Welcome to the toxicity arms race.
If BHVR would give us killer matchmaking and the SWF protection system back, there would probably be less of it. Very few killers like playing like this - but it's better than the alternative.

A toddler can play the doctor. It takes no skill to just zap zap zap.
Which doesn't really do that much after a certain point. Yay, I know where someone was. Now I have to hoof it over the map by which time they are not only in the wind, but two gens have popped behind me.
I love playing doctor, but there is a reason that he isn't a high tier pick.

I also use perks such as bbq, haunted ground, ruin, and sloppy. Im gonna try monitor and abuse once I get another red mori thingy. With that, it’s fun
Hang on, I thought your entire purpose of playing was to grief other survivors by deliberately DCing?

The counter is to only play Doc obv. I'm Kiddding.
Discordance can help if their sneaking around together. Dragons fire? Blights perk that makes them scream when they touch a kicked gen. Keep your eyes out for the crows/spies from the shadows. Or even bitter murmor you might not find them on the first gen but you'll have a general idea where to scour.
Alternatively? Stealth killers work well against them. Scratched mirror Myers. Hag traps. Zooming across the map as Billy or blight. Stealthy demo portals. Nurse long range blinks. Freddy has them highlighted. Plague with increased infection time. Spirit with stridor obv. Trapper traps to a degree can help but not that much. Leather with the light chassis. Clown if you wanna gas the whole area. PH can taint the area making it hard for them to do a quick getaway
Deathslinger, Huntress, and Legion can't really do much. Everyone else has some sort of way to counter them.
I was playing Hag. Didn't do jack. They just crotchwalked over the traps. I doubt stealth would have worked either, as they seemed to have a full-time lookout.
Plague and Doc could work, but the problem is that you can't just run a specific killer all the time in the expectation of a shenanicomp.
-
Surge is actually pretty good. Right now it seems to be overshadowed by Pop or a Ruin/Undying combo, but I've seen people get a lot of mileage out of it.

Maybe im just dumb for not playing spirit, nurse, hag, or using bamboozle though.
The problem with perks is that you can't just pick them blindly in the hopes that you get a specific map. 99 times out of a hundred, it will bone you.
But yeah. There is a reason that people gravitate towards either high pressure/mobility killers right now. Survivors, even at mid ranks are just getting too good at looping, stealthing and escaping - and after a certain point you have to rely on them making a mistake (or have a killer kit that negates it) because if both killer and survivor play ideally, the survivor escapes.

Shrug. I can completely sympathize. Running into obvious smurfcomps or being utterly mismatched against people 10 ranks above you game after game is going to make you ornery.
When the game/other players abusing the system makes it impossible for you to play standard without ending the match with zero kills and deranking, then it's time to get creative.

You're speaking of "good SWFs"... Well, guess what? A good SWF survivor will always run away to an area where the gens are already done if he's being chased. No "tactical camping" here. Not to mention most games don't have "good SWFs", so you can just cut some slack for the solo survivors or people who play for fun instead of camping at 5 gens.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1635840#Comment_1635840
You do realise you can just click on the killer's nickname on the endgame screen and it will show you their profile? It takes less than 3 seconds
Bingo.
Which is why you need to try and either put them or force them into different terrain, which is where 'proxy camping' (which again, isn't a thing) comes into play.
On certain maps, as certain killers, there really isn't that much else you can do against a team of Blendettes running toolboxes. You have to try and force them out into the open, somewhere where they can't just scurry off into the bushes.

No. But currently there is an arms race going on between SWF groups and killers/map design.
People find themselves going for high mobility/good chase killers because unless you are absolutely top tier, you are going to get skunked if you don't.
If you change one, you need to account for the other. And Freddy isn't even close to what a good Nurse, Spirit, Hag, Huntress or PH can do.

What do you mean by "SWF Protections?"
When SWF got rolling, BHVR implemented measures where an SWF group would always be matched with a killer of equal or higher rank to the highest ranked person in the premade.
Not only did this help to offset the increased coordination and information sharing that SWFs come with, but it stopped the annoyingly prevalent depip/smurfcomps, where two or three red rank survivors queue with someone at rank 20 to roflstomp lower ranks.

It’s a VIDEO GAME not REAL LIFE. If you talked a game serious maybe you have an underlying issue. Or just can’t separate reality and virtual lol
If you were playing with bots, that would be one thing. But those other avatars have actual people behind them - and they put in the time and effort to enjoy their hobby without someone ruining it.
I'm a firm believer in karma. Go out of your way to make other people angry or upset and it always comes back on you, when you least expect it.
Which is why I try to conduct myself, as so far as possible, in a noble manner. Both in MP games and out.

You're kidding right? Bubba has been buffed, he's an actual good killer now, if you need to camp with him to get a kill then that just means you're probably bad. And looking from this guy's numerous profile comments, I really doubt he was just "proxy camping".
Proxy camping isn't a thing. It's just common tactical sense to hook someone in favorable terrain (ie. nowhere near windows on Bubba), preferably near a gen or two and patrol around. Otherwise a good team in SWF is going to roll gens without you ever seeing them, especially when they are running OoO.
Much as it makes sense to drop a few Hag traps around a hooked survivor or try to ensure you get a 3 gen. That's just the way the game plays, and it's how most of the better killers I watch (Otz, Tofu) play.
Facecamping is another matter - but if your opponents have a clue, they'll have the gates open before you know what's happening.

I just wish there was a sensible idea to fairly level the playing field for killer, SWF, and solo - while also increasing the social aspect of the game and making it more fun by adding a whole new level of depth and strategy.
Oh wait, there is! I just made the mistake of making the idea longer than one sentence. Whoops 😁
As I mentioned above - it exists. The devs just decided to poopcan it for some reason.
Having SWF groups always face a killer of an equal or higher rank to the highest rank person in the premade meant that smurfcomps were not a thing, and freed up more evenly matched killers for solo games.

I want to hear your stories.
I can't decide between the Blendette that spent the entire game in the basement lockers until they went for the hatch or the Blendette that was about to be moried and instead beckoned the killer to follow her leading the killer to all the other survivors and hook farming them so they could be moried.
The latter happened today. I swear every time I choose to ignore my no Blendettes rule I end up regretting it big time.
I think I have yours beat.
A few days ago I ran into two SWFed together (both purple ranks) and two green ranks on Haddonfield. I hooked one of the greens and both DCed.
I decided to give the duo a chance and just roamed the map, until I realized that no gens were being done. They had decided to be jerks, and just play hide-and-seek.
The game lasted over 90 minutes of pure annoyance.
I now dodge Haddonfield unless I'm running very specific killers with good detection perks.

If you really camped with moris or with bubba, then I'd rethink as to who is the toxic one here.
The thing is - Bubba just works like that. He isn't mobile enough to pressure large maps against a good group, so your only real option is to hook someone in favorable terrain and try to get the game to tighten around that area.
Plus - 'camping' has come to mean 'the killer patrolled past the hook and I ran directly into him, and now I have the salts'.

what do you think? the ineficiency solo provides is the reason why good survivors join together with other good survivors. if u give taht weapon to solos by default they would be able to make better decisions without breaking the game since SWF already do it since 2016, and the fact that pretty much killers STOMPS solos without any issue most time (if they are kinda decent) but without breakign the game since is only when they are hooked not in the rest of the match like
" Guys Guys is doc and is with me on shack rush demn gens at the other side" or kinda stuff like that... i think would be nice tbh.

Instead of the current DC penalty that locks matchmaking for more and more time, I propose that on top of this it also makes it that you also earn like less bloodpoints; for example you earn 90% of the bloodpoints you would've earned, then 80%, then 70% et cetera, et cetera. And there would also be no penalty the first time you DC and it could reset every week.
Tell me what you think!
Is there a current DC penalty? I haven't noticed it. Granted, I rarely do it - but if I get Haddonfield when I'm a low mobility killer...I'm not above dodging it - and aside from early morning games, my queues are nearly instant.

Shrug. From watching higher rank games, they mostly tend to slug->chase->pick up after DS runs out.
@gatsby said:
The game has no native voice chat and text chat has largely been disabled because of cross-play. Because of that getting hate messages is just really rare. Also, Survivors generally work together and aren't toxic to eachother because its in their best interest. The 4/5 of the players in the game have no real incentive to be anything but helpful to eachother.
Basically, the only "toxic" interactions in the game are between the Survivor Side and the Killer Side. And even then its pretty minimal mostly because if a Killer is trying to win they have to focus on spreading pressure. Tunnel visioning on a "toxic" Survivor that's halfway decent at looping and has meta perks is generally what they want anyway.
Moral of the story is that most of my Red Rank games in DBD are me and my three teammates trying to work together to beat the Killer, who usually plays relatively normal. And because I play both sides stuff like slugging and camping at the right times doesn't even come across to me as "toxic" because I might do the same thing if I was in their scenario. The only times I get tilted in this game are if someone's running crazy add-ons or playing a Killer that I hate playing against in a really scummy way... which happens like once every 30 games or so. Even Moris I don't care very much about because the games are usually shorter and I can just focus on farming BP instead of tryharding on gens.
The toxicity is hidden, but it's still there. Dumping SWF into a game that really doesn't feel set up for premades, and then disabling both killer matchmaking and the SWF matchmaker protections is going to lead to stomps and endless unfair matchups.
Postgame chat is also a complete cesspool - where you either get mocked for being new/less skilled than the three red ranks queuing up with a level 20 to crush lowbies or get accused of camping or tunneling because someone ran straight off the hook into you.

The culprit here is basically a nasty little causal chain of toxicity, which is almost entirely brought on by the devs.
- Killer matchmaking scrapped entirely with no announcement, reason given or ETA on making a return.
- Allowing SWF in a game that is clearly not set up for it, then removing the matchmaking safeties on SWF groups - again, with no announcement or ETA on return.
- Survivors in stompcomps/smurfcomps get used to easy games and always expect to escape.
- Survivors loving to gloat after stomping someone.
- Killers eventually lose their fluff and start playing to win, regardless of the fun of the other side. Or just quit/go survivor, messing up matchmaking further.
- Survivors and killers are suddenly in a toxicity arms race and everyone is having less fun than before.
Of course there are toxic killers out there too, but the way things are set up at present is just going to breed more of them.

I have maybe 100 hours in the game, the climb to 13 was brutal or maybe I'm just #########. Really enjoy the game tbh but the community? Fuuuuck.
I spent my years 12-17 playing mostly counter strike source. Sure, kind of a toxic community. Really reminds you of COD before racism started getting people the boot. Then, I played LoL for a few years, I was nothing special but we can all agree, a super toxic community. A few years later Destiny 2 and it's first raid comes out. That too really brought the toxicity out in the community. These 3 or 4 games probably have some of the most toxic communities there are. But wowthia community here hands down takes the cake as the biggest number of cry babies inhave seen. Such toxicity actually mocking people 'waaah waah' in the discussions and littered with get gud. Survivors think they cant climb rank or win because of perks to killer has when they havent actually tried to get gud at the game and same for the killers who just want easy wins.
KILLER: Literally a ######### killer they have no moral compass. Expecting them not to tunnel or pull every dirty trick they can to win is essentially what they're supposed to do. So what if survivors have a perk that buys them an extra 6 seconds. If you decide to chase them knowing they just ds'd your little ass you just gave up ground to be a troll and go after them when you get control back. At that point you reserve to have the other 2 gen rush tf out of you if you decide to focus on one survivor like a simp. Quit your bitching.
SURVIVORS: You're supposed to work together more often than not you do not. That is why you fail and lose, not because the killer is a tunneling #########. Its a team game and you're pulled into a realm controlled by a malevolent entity where he puts you against a killer to survive for its entertainment. You're not actually expected to win. If this was real life that would be the only reality. Quit your bitching.
How does it feel to be the most toxic community on the web? Ienjoy this game but ######### the rest of yall seem to not be able to do anything but ######### in your safe space bubble. Some of you are WoW guy on southpark, some of you are cartman, stan Kenny and kyle. I'm just tryna be randy and have fun.
Shrug. DbD is about a 7/10 on the toxometer. There are a lot of hooting buttholes playing the game (generally as survivors) but it will never compare to the horrible glory days of UT2004, DOTA, early League of Legends, Smite, Dark Souls, Everquest or Ultima Online.

Bruh if you think this is one of the most toxic communities, try R6S, Ark, Overwatch, ect. There are plenty of communities more toxic than DBD. Trust me.
Ark, yes. Overwatch? Eh. I'd say that DbD is worse as a whole - mostly because Blizzard actually do stuff to police their games and attempt to account for premades and the like with matchmaking.

No Changes will ever be made. Though I WISH there was a separate mode where swf get less points and killers get double for the extra challenge. Or rank matches are solo ONLY. It's undeniable the cross map info leaking chat is so unfair. Solo vrs. swf is drastically different
I'd be fine with SWF if the devs did the sensible thing and tweaked matchmaking to ensure that SWF depip squads aren't a thing at lower ranks.
Blizzard had a pretty elegant solution in Heroes, where grouping up as a premade inflated your MMR (the more members the higher) to compensate for the additional coordination.
No idea why the devs are stonewalling any sort of killer matchmaking, let alone a commonsense solution like this.

Most of the time, it's not SWF ruining your killer matches. It's mostly yourself ruining your killer matches.
99% of SWF's are just people shooting the proverbial **** with their buddies. The amount of tryhard SWF's are the 1%. Chances are, and statistically speaking, if you're losing to all SWFs, you really need to get better; and you can. DBD is a fairly easy game to play on either side. You can do it:)
I wish I had your rosy view of things, but from my experience SWFs are...awful. It inevitably seems to be two red ranks queuing with a rank 20 smurf to roflstomp low/mid ranks.
They are also amazingly BM.
SWFs would be okay if they did what they used to do and match SWF groups with a killer at least of an equal rank to the highest ranked SWF player. No idea why they changed it.

Hello everybody I hope you're all well and taking care of yourselves.
As many people know I am a main pig, and I do know that she is not the strogest killer in the roster but. Why do almost everybody camps/tunnel with her? Don't missunderstand me, I know that those are strategies but being able to hide your terror radius is not because "their power is to camp and tunnel", the same happended with PH cages when people said "So they show you the cages and don't want you to tunnel them? His power encourages tunneling since cages don't activate DS and BT". NO, the reason why PH could see cages was to give info about which location survivors will go in order to rescue the caged survivor, not to camp or tunnel them. And as I said, sometimes the best strategy will be to camp or tunnel so as I said, I understand them being strategies. Now, killers have different play styles, as an example you won't use Clown's bottles like a madman, you won't blink without a reason as Nurse's. Pig has her RBT which creates a pressure element that many killers have not or lack off.
Many survivors won't even try to remove their RBT's and they get killed from it, so as a Pig main, it hurts me so much that survivors will often disconnect if the killer is Pig because they believe Pig means a fun time being tunneled/camped when she's not. She may not be Nurse or Spirit but she is a good killer, not the best but not the worst. I had several matches as her and the players who stayed in-match, even though I killed them, they thanked me in the post chat and told me "there should be more pigs like you".
So my advice with any killer, not only Pig. Learn to play them, I know you will have a plethora of toxicity from survivors bullying you but if you learn a killer you will know when to use their power and when it's not, so you won't depend on camping or tunneling except when the situation calls for it.
Have a great day/afternoon/night everyone.
I'll camp for one of three reasons.
- You BMed me. Wanted my attention? Enjoy!
- I have an annoying quest to do (sorry about that).
- It's the final gen and I've yet to secure a single kill.
Aside from case #1 - I'll generally feel a little bad about it.

I actually dropped to rank 15 because of trying to learn nurse. Why am I still getting OOO red rankers...
I do feel like i'm somewhat improving at blinks out in the open, it's the jungle gym prediction blink that I miss or i guess wrong when i LOS.
I feel your pain.
Took me 40 levels of Nurse to even start grasping her, and she is still frustrating to play. It feels like any survivor worth their salt knows exactly how to bait and juke her, and way to many maps see my teleports either fail or get me stuck in terrain.
