Especially on already short loops, It's annoying that he can just shock you over and over, and while your screaming, you aren't able to throw pallets or jump over them.

Doctor is already a really strong killer, so I don't understand why he has the ability to completely stop you from using one of the only things you can defend yourself in a chase. I don't want to run calm spirit every game just to only counter him.

It's actually way harder to pull of than you'd think. Just expect it and outrun him. It slows him down a lot.

Ty, i would rather you just dodge our game than play from the bag of cheese.

    Respect. Lol

Yeah that's my thought. I don't mind losing, but I don't like getting skunked.

Midwich as survivor and probably coldwind as killer, both of the killers I play are countered by corn(michael can't stalk as well and nurse can't blink accurately). And midwich is just midwich. F*ck it

Midwich depends almost entirely on who I'm playing. Hag? Nurse? Freddy? Legion? I don't mind it too much.

Any immobile killer...urgh. I've been known to quietly dodge those. It's just no fun for me, and as I would have to reach into my bag of cheese, likely not fun for survivors either.

I'd rather see Mid than Haddon any day though.

Alright so after thinking about how when I bring up a killer that if the survivor plays good can beat in a 1v1 I'm always told it's a a 4v1 game. Here are the flaws.

    Solo:

Ok so if some killers should only remain 4v1 countered like slinger or PH the average solo team would be losing. Solo is very unorganized how exactly is this fair?

Solo is notoriously weak/bad team wise and yet at the very least your own skills mean nothing in chase against some killers in chase. These leads to people wanting to play swf which when played optimally brings me to my next point.

    Complaining:

If survivors play swf in a way that is optimal like splitting on gens killers will complain about gen speeds going fast. Which is fair they are pretty fast. My point being that these 4v1 killers have no real 1v1 counterplay so survivors are left to split the gen pressure.

Now survivors are moaned at for "gen rushing" or making the game too quick for killers. This leads me to my last point.

    This or that:

It's either we play solo and struggle against these 4v1 killers or play in an optimal swf and moaned at for splitting on gens. Pick one these 4v1 killers encourage swf because swf is the best way to beat them rather than an unreliable solo team. Thats undeniable.

Anyways that's my thoughts stay hydrated.

Welcome to the single biggest mistake of DbD thus far.

This game is just...not set up for SWF/premades. Introducing them has started an arms race between SWF groups and killers that is leaving both sides frustrated and solo players gasping.

    The solutions are simple:

    • Better matchmaking (currently killer matchmaking is entirely disabled, leading to a lot of unfair games both ways).
    • Ensure that SWF groups are matched against higher ranked killers, which would mean that there are a lot more lower ranked killers for solo to run into.

It is not scary since we know what's going on. If we remove red stain and terror radius it's gonna be scary for first couple of hours but then it just become annoying. Also jumpscares could make this game scary but this is cheap way and it become annoying as stepping into hag's trap. Add random creepy designed ghosts in fog may help but we gonna get used to it eventually. Make game darker gonna help to blend more than make it scary. It would be legit if darkness was dangerous like if you hide too much entity will slow you down for 30 sec and this debuff also go off if killer hit you. But at current state it just would help to survivors.

What is your suggestion to make game scary exactly?

I was just thinking about this!

Essentially, make the game darker and reduce terror radius on killers. To compensate, provide survivors with temporary invulnerability baseline while unhooking/after being unhooked before 3 gens are down.

I mean if someone spits in your face after a friendly game of football, do you not get mad because it's "just a game?" The game isn't the issue. The issue is being an #########. If BHVR gave a ######### about the quality and health of their community, they'd systematically purge bad actors. And I'm not talking about teabagging or flashlight clickers, those are mildly annoying (to moderately annoying if you're having a rough series of matches) but whatever, it's just silly game animations. It's the vile, putrid BS that some people try to say in the post-game chat that's the issue.

It's pretty rare, and I almost never see it, but when I do, it's rough knowing there's a lot of people out there with thinner skin than me absorbing this kind of pointless abuse for no reason with BHVR not doing a damn thing about it.

The thing is - it does build up.

I was the most friendly killer when I started. Now...yeah. Teabag me, flash me, deadhard me, DS me - now it's a grudge match, and no tactic will be avoided or quarter given.

In order of most to least feasibility:

Start the EGC after all Gens have completed (but balance the duration accordingly)

Killer specific Objectives instead of Generators, or at the very least Map Specific objectives. (Imagine if the goal of facing The Pig was to remove the trap that you spawned in with)

Creating a custom engine for the game that takes into consideration its setup for an optimized experience for both coding/testing as well as for the end-user.

I actually really dig the objectives idea.

  • @KasumiFox said:

First, this is my first time posting on here. Second, I played both survivor and killer (though I love killer a bit more). I've wanted to ask survivor mains for a bit of a favor. When the killer is playing the best they can but not doing well and they didn't camp or tunnel, what's the point of Tbagging them in the end. Even worse, sending them nasty messages. I don't want to sound sensitive, but I've had to get off because it was too much several times. You don't know what someone is going through that day. I really just to ask everyone to be supportive and play the game fairly.

As someone who was in your exact position a week or two ago, a few things:

    • Turn off postgame chat as soon as possible. Especially as a new killer, people are going to say stuff to you regularly that would hurt a rhinoceroses feelings.
    • Don't be afraid of 'camping' or 'tunneling'. 99% of the time these are nonsense terms that basically mean 'hey, you killed me and I didn't like it'. You are going to get accused of it *constantly* anyway, so if a move makes tactical sense, the other side can write a TS note and mail it to the chaplain. Especially if you find yourself playing a low mobility killer on a large map vs. a team with multiple toolboxes - chuck someone in the basement and get ready for visitors. Let them be as cross as they want.
    • You can always be charitable towards survivors once you are winning. I promise you right now that they will never extend you the same courtesy. Keep in mind that for every duo that wants you to let them farm, there is another that will report you for 'taking the game hostage' and not ending it immediately.
    • Remember that 'good' for a killer is dispatching 2 out of 4 survivors. As long as you chase, get a few additional hits off and play the game, you'll rank up.
    • The easiest way to stop the enemy teabagging or torchspamming in the exit is to rush them down the second they star. It seldom works, but if you can down a spammer just before they exit and hang them, you'll feel like a million bucks.
    • The real BM to be afraid of is a duo/trio of survivors who will refuse to end a game and will just roam the map, hiding and sneaking. Good luck finding them, even with Whispers. I had a nearly 2 hour game once thanks to people like this.
  • @Marc_go_solo said:

As I play both sides, I have the following opinions:

Survivor - Unless the Killer has been an A**hole I'll stay as long as I can to make sure as many escape as possible without risking myself, but I'd never taunt or teabag the Killer. If I did do that, it's because I've seen the Killer properly face camp, or basically single out and bully a specific survivor. That is a very rare occurance.

Killer - I change my perception and think of horror movies. Sometimes, whilst being chased the person may shout abuse at the killer to taunt them. I treat teabagging as survivors shouting in anger. Takes away the lack of realism teabagging does. Either that, or just imagine them as the 10 year olds they probably are and laugh back.

Effectively, it's just someone pressing a button.

The thing is, both camping and tunneling are sort of tactical here. Generally I won't facecamp unless I'm getting absolutely skunked or someone has taunted me, but I'll certainly patrol past hooked people and if I spot one limping away, I'm going for it (unless they boop the snoot of course). Similarly, if someone has a key or a souped up toolbox, I'm going to eliminate them as fast as possible.

Originally, I tried to avoid it - but too much BM from survivors when they get all 4 out, especially in postgame chat has made me ornery.

And not as a weapon.(4:16)All it does is make the killer chase you and kill you out of spite. (Also doing it to high mobility killers like blight is a dumb move anyway. Like ohtofus a amazing killer but you can tell its one of his petpeeves by the way he talks.

    It certainly works on me.

I'm usually really amicable as a killer and I'll almost always let the last survivor escape.

However, torchspam, teabag or use DS offensively against me (especially if you then teabag or spam me) and I'll not only camp you to death, but I'll do my best to wipe the rest of your team out.

That literally doesn't happen any more. The Devs changed SWF matchmaking a year ago to prevent it: all you are seeing now is normal, broken matchmaking.

Yes, it does mate. I've run into them. The two top rankers and the 20 were definitely in an SWF together, as the #3 and #20 explained in postgame. Their purpose was skunking lower rank players into losing pips for the same of a stream, if I recall.

Plague, to me, is like Feng Min as well. From my hundreds of hours, everyone that seems to play them (in my experience) is a big jerk.

They tend to tunnel, camp, and mori off first hook than everyone else (again, from my experiences). And it's all of these experiences that I just can't not hate The Plague.

Nothing against them all, I assume there are some decent Plague players, but I just haven't encountered a single one.

This is sort of the nature of her kit. She requires survivors to not cleanse and to try and heal, in order to set up a chain reaction of kills with her corrupted spew.

If this situation does not arise, she loses effectiveness and has to try to make something happen, usually by hooking and camping with a spew at the ready.

    Actually...no. Not anymore.

The devs confirmed recently that killer matchmaking was scrapped completely - with no plans or timeline as to it's return. It's a complete coin toss at present. I was rank 14 in the second game, if I recall.

I've heard a few suggestions that I think could work well. One suggestion would be to have Moris work on a token system. For example, 4 hooks = 1 Mori. Or have a Mori be base kit like it is with Pyramid Head, in that it only activates upon a survivor's death hook.

Again, I'd be happy with that if they removed the quests that defacto require Moris and also removed keys.

I'd love a fun little fatality animation on the last hook.

Then it is taking the game hostage, which is against the rules.

But I know what you mean haha

The best solution would be humans being less scummy, but that's impossible

Actually, it's not. Sadly. Or if it is, it's simply never enforced.

I spoke to an (alleged) mod on Discord when I had a pair of survivors in an SWF stall a game for over 90 minutes by just running around the map and hiding. They said that this was not against the rules and that only cases of hacking, real life threats or hatespeech are generally investigated at all.

Also that is true for most people. That's the community especially for survivors but also for most killers. Hell even when people do escape the last thing i expect them to say is "gg" lol

In the two dozen or so games I played before I just turned postgame chat off entirely, I can think of maybe 2 survivors who GG'd.

Most of the time it's 'lol scrub games full uninstall' or something similar.

There. My 1 change. Who cares about keys, mori's or deathsquads, they literally lost because they crutched it out.

This sounds nice in theory, but doesn't account for the so-called 'depip' squads abusing a smurf account and SWF to deliberately roll and derank people way less skilled than them.

I keep seeing this, and it's very frustrating.

Matchmaking has to be fixed before even the slightest nod can be given to serious competitive changes.

Frankly, I don't care about rank. I'm still learning and am way happier in lower ranks where it feels like some people are also still learning.

I'm utterly sick of games like this:

I was rank 14 by the way and the 20 was a smurf account queueing with the others to push the overall rank down to stomp newbies, assumedly on stream.

    1. Dedicated chapter to game health. In other words, FIX THE DAMN BUGS!!!

    2. Rework Moris and keys. Allowing all survivors to be killed after just one hook isn't fair to the survivors, nor is it fair to the killer to allow all four survivors to escape through the hatch with a single key.

    3. Matchmaking (nuff said)

    Runner-up - A proper training mode.

If they rework Mori then they need to do away with silly quests like 'kill the obsession 10 times by your own hand' stuff.

I don't know how they can make something like that and not expect a lot of tunneling.

  • @jisp3r said:

  • @SweetTerror said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1632550#Comment_1632550

It's not uncommon because I've seen it myself. Killers that go for a slug build tend to get very little points. Perfect example: Myers. Myers excels with infectious fright, and if no one has unbreakable equipped and he manages to get four slugs, then that means as Myers you only managed to hook everyone once which equals out to be a small amount of blood points and a safety pip if you're lucky.

Oh yeah, slugging. That's a different issue and one where tactics and how the game is meant to be played end up diverging completely.

Frankly, giving killers baseline Deerstalker could help a lot with this. There have been plenty of games where I slug 1-2 people, hang a third and then simply cannot find the slugs, leading me to getting cussed out postgame.

  • @BabyDweetMain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1631043#Comment_1631043

That's the dumbest rule ever, no wonder they don't properly enforce it.

"Play our game no matter what. Even if you're not having fun. Even if it's completely stacked against you. Even if the killer is holding you hostage for a slug fest or to get that annoying 4k. If you don't play our game, we'll ban you from playing." The dc penalty is just another term for encouraging people to play other games.

Overwatch did it right. Leave a bunch of games in a row? -75% xp from your next 10 matches. They don't stop people from playing their game, they just hinder your leveling capability if you continuously leave matches.

    It's a tricky one.

The big culprits right now is:

    • SWF groups, forcing certain (admittedly unfun) playstyles out of killers.
    • Killer matchmaking inexplicably removed without any idea of when (if ever) it will return.
    • Quests which force killers to tunnel/camp.

Mix these together and you get:

    • Survivors getting used to easy wins and nerfherding/DCing on any difficult game, after being matched against killers far below them in rank for extended periods.
    • Killers dodging or DCing SWF groups, or games where they clearly have no chance at all.

    And of course add:

    • Crazily huge maps where even finding a survivor can be a chore
    • 'What were they thinking?' items like top tier Moris and keys.

All of this combines to create an unfun situation, where players will go out of their way to win regardless of BP or fun, often at the expense of the opponent(s). Everything becomes a zero sum game and everyone gets more and more toxic.

  • @SCP_FOR_DBD said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1632555#Comment_1632555

Yeah thats true, full balance is definitely impossible. But it should hopefully be better at closing the power gap between certain killers and the gap between Solo Q and SWF.

The old system was a great idea - an SWF group would always face a killer at least at the rank of the highest ranked survivor in the party. No idea why they tossed that.

I had a similar idea where, like Heroes of the Storm and other Blizzard games, grouping together would inflate your MMR for that match, leading to more challenging opposition.

The way things are is absolute poison. Killers start getting nasty in terms of playstyle and survivors get cocky, expecting easy wins - then becoming toxic/DCing/nerfherding when they don't.

  • If I see a TTV, I'll usually just dodge.

9 times out of 10 this is an SWF group abusing a smurf account in the group to roflstomp newbies, and the second you put up a fight they go batty and you start getting randos trying to add you as a friend to call you names.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/69931/killer-map-mobility

    Agreed on mobility.

I think this is more an issue of how coordinated groups can just melt gens while maintaining a lookout, combined with the staggering size and density of certain maps.

There are few things more irritating as a killer than getting both of these together and losing 3-4 gens before you even get your first real chase.

    1. More Bug Fixers
    2. More Balancers
    3. Fix Matchmaking

The problem is that this game just feels impossible to balance - especially now that SWF was podged into the game without any real thought of how it would work out.

As it stands, a mediocre SWF group can run rings around most intermediate killers (especially thanks to no killer matchmaking) which is going to lead to both miserable killers and possibly power creep, which will hurt solo survivors.

    Good luck fixing that one.

The ranking system is even screwy, I can get two kills and de-pip. Heck I have gotten 4ks and only black pipped.

I must say I've never seen that. 2 kills either gives me a pip or safeties (if I had one of my frequent games where I barely even see a survivor).

Maybe this is a higher rank thing - in which case, yeah, that's genuinely bizarre.

  • @GoofyGooberRock said:

The problem is that, from a bit of cursory reading on the subject, the gamecode here is just too vulnerable and not easy to fix, leading hackers to have a field day griefing people with massive bans and no way to stop them as of yet - hence the DC punishment system only lasting a short time whenever it's implemented.

I'd love a lack of DCs - but as it stands, it's way too easy for a survivor to just nope out a game the second I catch them for the first time, or for me to just nope out of games where I get Haddonfield or one of the giant maps.

1.) Have a custom setting with bots, i.e. for practice for killer powers

It feels like there just aren't enough ranks.

I'd love to see something like Starcraft 2: 5 or 6 'color' ranks and 100s of players within those ranks, each with a rank assigned.

As it stands I can rapidly rank up as killer to the point where (at least when matchmaking existed) I'd be facing players with thousands of hours more experience than myself on a regular basis but take ages and ages to rank down.

When I first started playing I got to rank 10 within a few days - and that's just nuts.

EDIT: And if you get Kindred basekit, I get Whispers.

  • @JimPickens666 said:

I think 100% the problem is that the game is NOT competitive from the survivor side, its casual. But the killer side IS competitive.

Thats why survivors far outweigh killers, they both need to be casual, or competitive ig but i don't think that's the direction the game will go, bringing survivor skill level up to killer will alienate a huge chunk of the community

It gets easier when you realize that the killer is intended to get 2 kills at most per game. I forget where I read that, but it made sense. The amount of points I can earn by chasing, terrorizing and hassling survivors while killing one or two isn't far off what I earn off a full wipe.

The problem are the annoying quests that basically force you to team wipe or tunnel a particular survivor. They aren't fun as the killer and likely aren't fun for the survivor.

Another problem is that every survivor seems to expect to escape, so when they are one of the two (or do get away) they can become BM to the extent of nastiness.

I usually run MYC and Devour on my Hag. Most of the time survivors will just sprint for the hook if they trip a trap near a hook, so I just wait for MYC and DH to proc, then teleport to the trap they tripped before the unhook, and usually get an easy down. I'm the worst lol.

Leveling Pig at present, will definitely try MYC.

Longways, to be specific.

I hope that filing an out-of-game report actually does anything, because by their statements they didn't care about getting reported at all and clearly did this a lot, possibly to every teammate.

    Introduction

Hello, I don't usually make posts like this but it's a interesting discussion I would like to bring to the table today. Today, I want to present the question of if Corrupt & Pop when used together is fair or not.

Of course other combos like that in the past have existed like Ruin & Pop or Thanato & Pop, but this one for some reason gets the most attention since Ruin was nerfed. It's all things considered the "spiritual successor" to the Ruin & Pop combo of the past.

But enough of my rambling, let's get right into it.

"Why is this question even being asked?"

I always considered that players can use whatever they want, despite how disliked they may be by you or I. But some perk combos are sometimes considered TOO extreme for use, especially when on specific Killers that don't need them.

Perks like Unbreakable + DS is a good example of something that's considered "disliked by most". And the advanced version (Unbreakable + DS + Soulguard) is considered to be worse to face. Now without going into detail as to why people dislike that perk combo, it's just an example to what I present today.

Perks like Corrupt and Pop are a staple of the meta and a lot of Killers use them to combat strong teams or to just stay in the meta of what's most used. Does that mean you're "bad" for using them or that it's unfair to use them? Well, that's what I present to you all today.

    some backstory

During a match I found some above average Survivors to face against my Blight. Now my Blight isn't really the best it can be at the moment and definitely wasn't at that time. I can usually hold my own against a good team usually getting a decent margin if they're fairly coordinated, the RNG of the map and the scenarios I'm in. But in the end I was only able to down one and the rest escaped (They DC'ed but they were on death hook so).

After the match in post-chat a lot of harsh things were said towards me, some I won't be repeating for the sake of the rules, but one comment stuck out among the rest "corrupt pop", followed by some harsh words that I can't repeat. At the end I actually was happy to face a coordinated team and was glad to be able to face one while training my Blight.

Now you could just chop that up to being a distasteful experience with a toxic team, but it actually made me start thinking if Corrupt & Pop are actually required on someone like The Blight. So ever since I took it off The Blight and just used Corrupt. But again, it still made me wonder if such a combo is fair on The Blight or even any Killer for that matter.

    Final thoughts + your opinions

Now of course some Killers need the extra help and Corrupt + Pop is used a lot to help with that, but I would like to have a civil discussion about how the combo really affects gameplay for coordinated to average to casual teams. I would love to hear about what you guys honestly think about the combo, if you think it's fair, what you might want to change if you don't like it, etc.

It would be really interesting to hear your opinions and maybe I'll even learn a thing or two from it! As always stay safe out there, see you in the fog...

This is partially brought on by overly coordinated teams of survivors in SWF who can finish two generators before the killer even gets his socks on.

It was also brought on by needlessly massive or convoluted maps where it's nearly impossible to even find survivors at times unless you are 3 genning right off the bat or get lucky.

In response to your post, in an ideal world, you wouldn't need Corrupt. But as things stand, certain killers are just miserable to play without it.

It really is. This is the worse online game I’ve ever played in my entire life. This game needs a single player, story mode. Not single player how it is now but a story mode aside from this bullshit they think they have going on

    Oh, I've played worse.

Ultima Online had one of the most legitimately unpleasant playerbases in the history of gaming.

Unreal Tournament 2004 was legendary for it's toxicity.

The original DOTA...well, it was impossible to even get a game as a new player.

And don't even get me started on the early days of League of Legends, let alone Smite.

Switch to killer to be nice to survivors after facing some scummy brats as killers, just to give survivors who likely endured similar a breather? if only for one match?

I try to be a 'noble' killer in that I only camp or tunnel when it makes tactical sense, I don't BM and I'll always give survivors who have a DC or are mismatched with me a chance.

That said, teabag me once and you are never leaving the basement.

  • The big issue right now is that they removed killer matchmaking entirely, which is leading to unfun matches in all directions - and nothing breeds toxicity like frustration.

A killer hit me from across the map, I died while he was carrying me on his shoulder and I even went under the map while dying. Everyone was lagging around. Killer said nothing was wrong with his internet and what happened was a fair kill.

I've had weird moments like this as killer. Trust me, 99% of the time it's entirely unintentional.

I closed the chat, too. It's better for the overall mental health. People even came to my stream and harrassed me, but one click and they are gone.

And tbh the toxicity from Dota2 (haven't played the original one) is bad, but not that bad like dbd.

DOTA 2, like most MOBAs can be pretty poisonous, but it is nothing compared to the old days of DOTA, where zero moderation, hacks-a-plenty and no matchmaking meant that even getting into a game as a new player could be nearly impossible.

Smite is another one, but the devs over there all but encourage toxicity.

It's a little different in DbD, as the entire system is set up for 4 players ganging up on one.

Games where everything is against you. Your opponent is way better than you and Stuff happens to you that never happens if you are playing the other side (hit validation is a big offender here).

But the worst is still the "learning experience" if I play a killer I'm not good with and get absolutely stomped. Bonuspoints if the survivors mock you for it.

Oh man, I've run into some horrible SWF groups. Getting 'games full scrub, uninstall' or 'gg ez' game after game as a very new player quickly makes you bitter and frustrated - hell, I've now disabled endgame chat permanently. Which is a pity, because 9 times out of 10 I'm fine with some bants.

This game though...wow. I haven't seen anything like this since Smite, or the glory days of the original DOTA.

I will still play the game, cuz I payed good money. But every single game out of the 30+ games I've done solo queue, everyone keeps tunneling and camping. Every. Single. Game. Only one game I didn't get tunneled/camped cuz the killer pitied me and the other Meg cuz two people D/Ced cuz she had Iri-Head.

I try to play other games but I get bored so easily. I don't know which platform it is, but it sure as hell isn't Xbox. I am not disabling cross-play cuz I don't need hour long queue times. Why is this considered a strategy. I literally get face camped, I just wanted to complete a ######### challenge and I can't do that.

It just keeps happening, over, and over, and over again. Why!? Why do people have to ruin another person's experience. Then I get stuck with potato teammates who can't run a killer for 10 seconds and let people get to second phase/die on first hook.

If you read this, thank you, probably gonna take a break from the game and cool my head a bit.

The unfortunate reality of the killer side of things right now is that, with matchmaking completely disabled for killers, it's the Wild West out there.

For us newer or less skilled killers, getting queued endlessly into coordinated groups of far more experienced survivors is commonplace, and thus cheesy tactics sort of become the norm as these players are merciless and amazingly BM when they win, taunting and stalling out the endgame to get one last teabag in.

When survivors are willing to give a newer killer a break and allow for a fun game, that's one thing - but when you get stomped into the dirt and then mocked in postgame chat, game after game...at a certain point it becomes a grudge match and niceties go out the window.

I don't like it but I've become like that recently too. And I was really chill for the longest time.

Put killer matchmaking back in and you'll likely see less frustration.

Reach rank 1 as a killer.

I'm not sure what difference that would make for me. I already face rank 2-8 regularly as a rank 13-10.

  • @Syntai said:

I've posted this in another thread.

I'd just like some kind of bandage-fix until they figure something out.

Something to make going against SWF more lucrative for killers, like a BP multiplier.

I could imagine something like this:

    You go against 2 SWF + 1 Random + 1 Random = +25% BP.

    You go against 2 SWF + 2 SWF = +50% BP.

    You go against 3 SWF + 1 Random = +75% BP.

You go against 4 SWF = 100% BP.

I think killers wouldn't dodge/despise these games that much, if they know that they get something out of it - besides the bullying.

The big problem is that the devs disabled all killer matchmaking a while back, and while they have plans to reintroduce it (maybe) - the actual timeline here is entirely unknown.

Which is a pity - as currently it's a total misery to play a killer as a newer player.

How about provide me video evidence. Instead of saying "watch otz." It's not the game failing to register its the survivor vaulting the window in time.

Watch any old dbd clip and notice how close the blade could get to the survivor and not hit. Even early as 2019 before dedicated servers.

Dont blame it on weird weapon hitboxes you could clearly see him not touch me and hit me and then hit me after like 3 steps through the window. I let myself die after that. VPN killers are accepted for some reason..

Shrug. I know this is a rant thread, but once you calm down a bit you'll probably realize that this isn't how it works.

And sure, if I remember, the next time I come across it I'll link it here. But I've done this dance before and know that the second I do, you'll shift the goalposts to 'well, that's only one example'.

    You have fun, mate.

Uhhh no dont try to justify those hits with "well killers miss some weird hits too" dont make me pull out all my clips. If a killer misses it's either their own fault or in consoles cases sometimes aim assist.

No, trust me. This is pure confirmation bias.

On PC, you get some very clear moments where you should have landed a window hit or a lunge hit but it fails to register. You can clearly see this happening even at very high level play (watching some Otz and Tofu vids at present).

I think some of this weirdness on the survivor side of things also comes from killers having a universal hitbox size but not a universal model size. Smaller killers like Pig, Freddy and Hag seem to get very jammy hits at times because of this.

  • I really only play killers.

What I like in survivors is:

    • Not an obvious voicechat premade
    • At max 1 toolbox
    • Fun skins that aren't impossible to see ingame

I miss when killers actually had to hit you hit with their blade to do damage. Either ping lock it or ban vpns it's that simple. Better yet show us the killers ping so I can dodge high lobbies. Same games btw

    This definitely cuts both ways.

For every 'how on earth did that connect?' hit, there is a 'wait, how did that miss?' moment.

    Latency is latency.

You see, They DID try that... sometime ago. The idea was it that the killer would be chosen by the highest ranked survivor (so with a party or 2, 7, 12 ,13 survivors it would queue a 2 rank killer)

SOMEHOW it didn't do anything. Idk how exactly but yeah.

Weird. I wonder why they didn't keep that - it would really help.

I keep getting skunked by teams with people 10+ ranks above me.
