This game is designed to cater to killers.
They can tunnel, camp, BM and still get pips and buckets of bloodpoints.
Meanwhile soloQ survivors exist solely to provide killers with easy games and get rewarded with 4-12k bloodpoints.
This event is once again made with only killers in mind.
-
We're bored of every killer using the "tunnel one survivor out at 5 gens" tech.
And you can only bear so many Weskers in a row. I launched the game to play DBD not to be deafened by Wesker's ridiculously loud map wide terror radius.

I get that and all but theres no need to act like wesker existing is like being cyberbullied by the entire killer community.
I have no idea where you're coming from with this. All I said was how I was sick of facing the same killer every day, there's no need to exaggerate.

You dislike that you face wesker every single match. bhvr actually made a fun killer and now people are upset that hes actually seeing play? Would you prefer a nurse and blight tunneling you out every match? At least against wesker you have a better chance of winning. People who actually feel like the game is being ruined by people playing a killer too much are just absurd to me. The best killers are all very similar in gameplay anyways. You'd be doing the same baits and dodges against a blight that you do against wesker for the most part.
What even is the point of this post? "I dont like seeing wesker every game and would prefer being 3genned all game by a SM"? Oh noo, wesker is killing the game bc people actually like him... you'd get a lot more bored of a 3 gen merchant every game than a wesker.
Hit a nerve there did I?

DBD players: Make a fun killer thats also fun to face
BHVR: Ok *makes wesker*
DBD players: No not like that you did too good a job reel it back bhvr
get over it
Your poor attempt at a meme failed to capture the whole point of this post.

Half my games are just Resident Evil. I hope we never get RE Part 3.
Yup pretty much this. I wish DBD and RE never collided. DBD has pretty much ruined RE for me.
Hopped on for a few games after this post. 5 games. 4 Weskers. Boring. Every one of them tunneling. I wish I could at least mute the awful chase music.

You can have everyone's SM matches.
Thankfully, seems like people and BHVR got the message that nobody is gonna play against SM so she needs to get fixed ASAP
I understand being bored of seeing a certain Killer a lot. But wesker is a GOOD Killer.
I never said he wasn't. I'm just so absolutely bored of facing nothing but him. This game has other killers too. Let me face them. I've played 4 SM matches. I'll gladly face her more if it gets Wesker off my list.

Getting him like consistently every-time I play is crazy and like in a row is to much. I’d love it if you didn’t get the same killer in the span of like 2 hours or something…
Yes something to make sure you don't constantly go up against the same killer.
I'm so bored. Then I take a break, come back, play 10 games out of which 7 are against Wesker, get bored and quit, repeat.
-
I've been recording my stats for quite some time now. I have a few hundred games (of solo Q) on record and it's pretty much just 4k after 4k. At this point I only play a couple of games every month, realise nothing has changed and come back next month to make the same assumption again.
I really want to like this game, I used to love it.

Information is more important than any power. SWF get 20+ perks for free.
Yup. I have to equip several aura reading perks to get even a fraction of the information swf have, and then boom, perk slots are full.
-
I uninstalled, came back. SoloQ was somehow worse than before. Uninstalled again.
-
@Junylar said:
The only solution: stop playing soloQ whatsoever. Dive into the killer queue, get some books to read while you are waiting. This will make the community so much more educated.
I used to play killer a lot actually. Michael was my main. But that was back when killer queue times were actually acceptable. Now I'd just rather play something else.
-
Devs don't care about tunneling and camping. Most of DBD players are killers so they will always cater to their needs. We're meter going to see actual changes to these tactics.
-
I wish I got one game where the killer doesn't bring a mori when all the survivors bring event offerings.
Also wish I got one game where the killer didn't camp and tunnel.
Also wish I git one game where my teammates didn't just start playing this game a week ago.

Hmmmm, strange. With that many hours I would think you would have competent enough teammates that you would escape more often then you do. I would say my games generally are pretty 50/50 in my escape or death, maybe a little more death because I enjoy playing altruistically (could have escaped if I wanted to). What's usually the downfall in your games?
Either the killer is so good that we never had a chance or no-one does gens, hook rescues or knows how to run the killer for more than 20 seconds.
-
@Anniehere said:
Try to avoid chases.
Bring Kindred to see who is going for the unhook and if it's safe to stay on the gen.
Replace the key with Med-kit for the late game, use it when you really need it.
When you are on death hook, stay hidden as much as you can.
Watch videos that shows the hatch spawn locations.
I'd rather not bring Kindred because I only seem to go against Pyramid head if I do.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
I don't recall. Is this just to escape through hatch or a hatch that has been closed?
If it's just hatch keep doing what you are doing. Also what I've done in the past if you have a game where the gates have been opened. Hide somewhere until everyone leaves and look for hatch that way. The only risk with this method, which has caught me out is that as we all know a lot of survivors won't leave until the last possible second.
If you need to reopen the hatch. Look for hatch and hide really close to it. Most of the time a killer will close and head to exit gates giving you time to reopen and escape.
The challenge is to escape 4 times. I don't think I've gotten hatch once this year lol. Glad that's not the challenge.

Out of curiosity, how many hours do you have in the game and what perks do you usually run?
1.1k hours out of which most id solo q. I usually run Adrenaline, Wake up, BT and IW but I switch things up on a regular basis.

You can try looking for a group on the DbD discord. There's plenty of people there and even though this community is rough, I'm sure there's people you could get to play a couple games to help you. Even if you guys aren't a pro squad, having others on comms and knowing you just need to escape, it should be easier.
Your other option is trying to find a key from a chest and bringing a hatch offering. This is highly unlikely though and you can't guarantee it.
To me personally, this challenge isn't difficult to complete. Sometimes hard if you get a bad string of games, but it isn't a challenge that should feel impossible to do.
Well it's been feeling pretty damn impossible. I don't normally escape almost ever either but it's like after I equipped this challenge i dont even get the 1 escape a day I usually manage.

you dont need a swf, I only play solo, I don't know your playstyle but if you have to play selfish do so, dont go for end game hook saves etc.... leave if you must if someone on hook. Run adrenaline/wake up/spine chill
Adrenaline and wake up used to be part of my main build. I never even make it to the end game and if I do I'm on the hook and get left there.
-
@amazing_grace said:
Here are some options:
1: Find a swf to play with to get the challenge
2: Bring perks to play efficiently (prove thyself, meta perks, other perks that help awareness)
3: You can try to do the selfish play and run clairvoyance (better version of left behind)
Although this challenge can be annoying, it shouldn't be that impossible to get. Sometimes you have to play a little selfishly to guarantee the escape, but you also have to make sure to save your teammates and make good macro game decisions. If you are stuck at low mmr and get bad teammates, then all you have is either find a swf to play with or hope to get lucky.
I've tried all of rhe above except swf because all of my friends quit DBD a long time ago.

Bring offering that make hatch spawn in shack or main building and bill's perk also is good help. Key is risky as some killers might tunnel you but you should try it again.
I tried to bring the offering but the killer closed it immediately since they knew where it was.

Back when rank based matchmaking was a thing, I actually had diverse and fun matches. With this mess of a matchmaking system I can only get one kind: 2 min games.
My survivor teammates have yellow perks, don't know the game mechanics and die/dc/hook suicide immediately. The killer always has some variation of the current meta build along with the sweeties add-ons.
I mean ffs I can't even complete the escape 4 times challenge because it is impossible. After a little over a week I have 1/4 progress.

@amazing_grace said:
Is the challenge just to escape?
Yes.

Ok, so here you go why Nurse is bs and should be nerfed:
I don't think I need to say anything about that but in case it isnt obvious: Nurse with Haunted Grounds, Undying and Infectous slugging 4 solos at 5 gens left
This is every game I've played today. Minus the perks. Nothing but Nurse after Nurse after Nurse. Its just so damn boring. Always running meta perks too. And then they blame survivors for running boring meta builds. Smh.
-
You guys get to play against the dredge? I've yet to play a single game against it and I haven't seen anyone play the new survivor. I actually thought I mistook the release date for a while.
-
@IlliterateGenocide said:
Solo queue is getting downed after a long chase and and seeing ur teammates yellow aura slowly crawling around
But hey at least you can see their aura from hook!

If BT and DS get nerfed tunneling and camping will be an even bigger issue so I hope they truly have something good planned or this will be a terrible game health update.
-
The whole map is a web and survivors have to crouch across the map or they'll alert the spider.
Generators can be covered with web making survivors stick to it and unable to let go once they touch it for a period of time.
Map has web traps between loops that trap the survivor and they have to struggle to get free or be helped by another survivor.
-
@Laluzi said:
It's pretty weird. It's... theoretically balanced? But not in a way that feels good - more that there's some really awful elements for survivors and really awful elements for killers. The majority of the map is a high visibility deadzone with a couple of average pallets scattered around that, when broken, leave vast swathes of exposed terrain for survivors to die in. Like once those pallets are gone, you've got nothing, not even bits of cover to try and mindgame with. And a lot of the gens are in this no-man's-land. But the houses range from really good to just downright broken with the window loops. Old House of Pain is nothing compared to the one house with 3 first-floor windows and two windows on the same side.
I've been getting the map constantly since the update went live and I still don't really know what to make of it.
Exactly, it's like they wanted to make many strong loops that are still unfair to killers but then also the biggest dead zones you've ever seen that are completely unfair to survivors.
-
Yup solo Q is hell right now. I've switched to killer main until something is done about it (which will probablybe never). Devs are so focused on balancing the game around top killers and swf groups that a huge part of the playerbase is left to play extremely unpleasant games over and over again. Thia goes for both average and below killers and solo Q survivors.
-
Tunneling killers.
-
Pretty useless unless you know how to loop long enough to get healed mid chase.
-
None. They don't care. As long as you buy their shiny new pair of reskins nothing will change.
-
Nothing wrong with AFK pig. If fate decided you needed that last box just boop the snoot and die happy.
-
REMOVE THE INSTA DOWN FROM NOED AND THE PERK IS FINALLY FIXED
-
Block gens when game starts. Block gens when a gen is completed. Block gens when survivor let's go of gen. Block gens when survivor is hooked. Block gens when survivor heals. Block gens when survivor is picked up. Block gens when survivor finds one. Block gens when killer looks at them. Block gens when totem is cleaned.
Remember when playing killer took skill.
-
Be Wraith. Zero skill. Camp first person to death. Lose anyway. Repeat.
-
Yes. In 2k hours the saltiest, most likely to tunnel at 5 gens, bodyblock you into the basement and camp harder than any Bubba could ever dream of killers are Wraiths. If the killer is a wraith someone is going to have a bad time and there's a 90% chance someone will be tunneled to death and smacked on the hook.
Wraiths are also the most likely to "give hatch" then close it on your face.
Salty, sad and bad. That's Wraiths. Never seen one that's a good sport.
-
Only if Kindred becomes basekit too.

Yeah? Well
In all of my hours of DBD, I've never seen Buckle up do anything.
How'd ya like that? Yeah I went there...
Ooooh it's on.
-
Tunneling camping and slugging already completely destroys the horror aspect and it happens more or less in every game. Survivors bringing perks ro help counter said behaviour is just fair.
-
Removal of NOED and Dead Hard would be great.
-
-
I stopped enjoying DBD when MMR was introduced.
-
@Tranquil_Blue said:
I do not have the same experience. Maybe it's due to your MMR level or region or something? I've also been counting, and I've played against only 5 Blights in my last 100 survivor matches. All I can say is: I'm sorry to you or anyone else who faces the same killer over and over.
Yay I have Blight MMR! What a blessing! /s
Seriously though MMR is the reason I quit way back when. I really hope there's no such thing as getting stuck on a single killer MMR.
-
@ThatOneDemoPlayer said:
Nurse has been disabled, so most Nurse players migrated to the next best Killer
That's funny, I remember when Blight came out and I said he had the potential to be almost as good as Nurse and all killer man's rained hate and fire on me because he was so bad and Undying was too weak and he was definitely an E tier killer that needed a buff ASAP lol.

I feel like the only way to save the situation would be to just make matchmaking completely random. It's not working. No one is having fun. When the event ends everyone will just stop playing because the whole thing was such a miserable experience.
