Remember when they told us they wanted the person who unhooked everyone, repaired all the gens, ran the killer for 10 minutes and got left on first hook to die while the others escaped to feel like what they did mattered by implementing MMR and making skill matter?
And then they flushed all that and said you can just hide all game and then run out the exit gate and you get high skill rating because nothing but escapes matter?
Yeah.

I haven't seen a survivor with more than ~50 hours in DBD this week. There's something wrong with the matchmaking and they know it. Probably why they extended the event because the challenges are impossible to complete now with the games as bad as they are.
-
Do bones.
-
So far I've only seen PlayStation players report this. Anyone know of Switch and Xbox have the same issue?

So you became what you hate because of your weak personality? Good job.
Oof is that salt I taste! Yumm

Congratulations on contributing to the problem and creating more of the toxic killers you evidently didn't like going against.
Thank you! Can't wait to finally give some back.

I can imagine how hard it must be to learn against The Cenobite. He requires a lot of coordination and basic game knowledge. This game really needs a beginner mode. How cool would it be to have a beginner lobby where they could play live matches with killer and survivor "mentors" that could show them around the game and help them practice the basics.
That would be great. But I think it would be amazing if the game just wouldn't match new players with killers that have hundreds of hours in the game. Too much to ask, I know.

@Exxodus21 said:
It sounds like they weren't interested in the game at all. Unless they thought they were entitled to a win even though they were brand new to the game.
Could your MMR have hurt them by pairing the team with higher level killers? O'm not sure how the new system works with SWF at different MMR levels.
Yeah I was worried about my MMR affecting their games so they started on their own. The games lasted like 5mins so I jumped in to help but it didn't get any better. Just finding gens was hard enough for them and then I had to explain to them how The Box works and why they get chains constantly etc.

I'm super excited! Sweaty meta players on both sides can go play with eachother and players who are used to stomping their opponents will actually have to earn their victory now. Thank you BHVR <3
-
Yes many times. I remember before crossplay whenever the killer was a nurse you'd let out a sigh of relief because you knew the game had a fair chance of being easyish.
Then the PC nurses came with crossplay. I miss Xbox nurses.
-
Yup my whole game looks like this in game. It looks like a game from 1998.
-
All the challenges seem to be bugged. I get some progress and then stop getting any. Restarting the game sometimes helps but I've just had to abandon some completely.
-
Equip Kindred and We'll Make It and you'll run into PH games all day.
-
Tried playing again today and it keeps happening whenever someone starts opening the exit gates.
Game crashes as soon as someone touches the exit gates and I have to restart the game. Then when the game restarts I've lost one whole rank.
Can someone please reply if this is being looked at? Rank progress is impossible at the moment for me because of this.
-
Probably the ones I main myself so Myers, Plague and Legion.
But honestly I'll enjoy any killer as long as it isn't a Wraith.
-
It's going to be either crazier or better than the current clusterfunk of a matchmaking so definitely excited!

They payed for the game, they can play however they want to. I do agree unprovoked face camping is pretty boring.
That's the attitude that keeps ruining good games. "I'm entitled to play however I want". True. Everyone is entitled to be a d*ck.
-
When the matchmaking works yes. But usually it doesn't so no.
My green rank killer consistently gets put against red rank swf. It's rare to get survivors that match my rank.
My red rank survivor consistently gets yellow/green survivors agains rank 1 killers.
Neither is fair. Neither is fun.

Technically this would be a bug, but we can't move to bug reports. I will suggest @shelobster that you send this to Support so they can have a look at the account and see what's going on, because that's a really weird one and not something I've seen happening before, and that really needs to be looked at further.
Please make a support ticket here for assistance: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us
Thanks! Will do.

Well the bug where you depip if someone disconnects before the game starts is still active. The UI is a bit better but still worse than the original. Haven't noticed a difference in hitboxes yet. Emblems appear to be fixed though.
Edit: nevermind, still getting black emblems.
Oh and if you switch your character in a game lobby your character will be wearing their default clothes instead of the ones you picked for them.
-
Haha The Blendettes would love this! Make your team do all the work then lurk out as soon as you can.
No. The best games I've had as a survivor haven't necessarily been ones where I've escaped. It's about the journey, not the destination.
-
I only hook suicide so someone can get the hatch or if the killer is a Spirit.
Spirit is just so bloody booooooring. Even Freddy is more interesting.
-
I only hope that after the hitboxes are fixed the killers will keep swinging crazy early like they do now and we'll se a ton of missed hits :D

But why though?
Autohaven I understand because of the fun bus abuse, but why Crotus?
Not sure but probably because you could walk through the greenhouse walls.

Red ranks have the worst survivors and the saltiest killers. I'm okay with the de-pips. Might actually catch a decent game for change. Dropped from rank 1 to soon rank 5 and man I hope I keep going until like rank 9.
Or I might just quit DBD until the new MMR is turned on. Nothing worth getting in the Rift anyway and the event is basically just a bloodhunt.

Yup. Checked after Puppers showed it on stream. I thought we all just got a free skin lol.

Oh man...

It being given to us for free was a mistake.
Was it a paid outfit on Mobile? Wonder if they'll replace the outfit in the Rift with something else.

Isn't this the outfit they already have on Mobile DBD?

Survivor: Quentin & Kate
Quentin because he's just so lovable lol and because I like the sounds he makes when he's injured. Kate because I love her voice and overall design. I also think she looks bada*s with the P3 head.
Killer: Plague, Legion and Michael
Plague, oh my gosh I love her. I'd do almost anything to get a Plague figure or statue. She's gorgeous. I rarely go for the kills and I think Legion can have most fun without even hooking survivors. And who doesn't love jump scare Myers!
-
Oni smacks the floor downstairs survivor goes down upstairs. Nurse hits the wall with a "cling" sound and a survivor gets hurt what looked like 10 meters from her.
Apparently killers don't even have to catch you to score hits these days lol.

Speedy killers, the ones that are zooming around the map without any perks/add ons to increase speed.
Yup ran into a bunch of these too. Also a flying Huntress. She'd occasionally stop on top of a building to throw hatchets. And then she'd go off "chasing" someone from the sky again. And the hatchets also hit 100% of the time too.
-
I saw an amazing Huntress today! She could fly and everything! Must be crazy skilled! /s

I've been debating this exact situation for a couple weeks now myself. My friend who used to SWF with me now abandoned the game because of the constant tunneling, Mori's, etc. We used to play for a couple hours a night together just for fun, but even that isn't possible with how killers are playing these days. Solo queues are a complete nightmare. I either get lucky with a semi-competent set of players, or complete potatoes that throw every pallet they physically see, or divebomb hook in front of the killer. Playing killer has become painful too, with constant DS, Unbreakable combos everywhere or SWF acting toxic every game. I don't tunnel, never have, never will, and I always try to keep the game fair and fun for everyone, but it's become a joke seeing it every single game. I'll probably force myself to grind out my last few tiers of the rift to get my moneys worth, but after that, I think this game is going to be shelved for some time until some serious changes happen.
My feelings exactly. Whenever I play killer I rarely even kill everyone because I want survivors to have fun too but with these toxic SWF groups fun is not on the table and in solo queue fair and fun killers are extinct.

SoloQ is the most infuriating and miserable experience you can have in DBD, by far.
Take a break and come back. I'm still on a break myself after a breakdown 2-3 weeks ago and merely log in to claim some perks from the shrine.
Play with at least one other person to make matchmaking at least bearable.
Best of luck to you pal
Thanks! Yeah if only I had one person on my friends list that still plays this game I would. Maybe I will be back. Probably actually. But definitely not any time soon.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/195530/i-think-im-done-with-dbd-for-now
I feel you, almost all my friends quit the game month ago, they don't want to face bs anymore, it sad bcs I was really big fan of this genre and this game, but I'm on my way out for good aswell.
I used to have a group of friends that played DBD together but none of them find the game enjoyable anymore and they all quit and moved on to other games.
I hope you can find some good games before you go. It'd be nice to have a couple of fun games before quitting.
-
Freddy mains are now required to attend weekly therapy sessions to address the issue of choosing to role play as a child molester.
Gunslinger's terror radius has been doubled.
Blendettes will now proceed to scream constantly throughout the trial and will always die on first hook.
Removed keys from player inventories and they can now only be acquired from in game chests. If not used in the trial the key will be deleted upon completing the game.
Changed Ebony Mori so that it only activates after the survivors have been hooked twice and then downed. Other Mories remain unchanged.
Added topless skin for Michael Myers
Added Dwight's Pizzeria map.
-
There's also a significant lag spike when Freddy hits a survivor and they go into dream state. The game freezes for like 2 seconds.
-
Yes, mine is a Freddy too. I looped him around the house at Mother's Dwelling and stopped to tap the gen upstairs mid chase which caused him to miss his attack and he fell off the balcony. I continued to loop him around the house until I was downed inside in front of a locker which he opened twice while trying to pick me up.
He proceeded to abuse me on the hook but it was totally worth it since none of it was intentional and I got a great laugh out of it.
-
I agree. Especially since there are apparently no survivors left with CP enabled so the game keeps shoving two achievement rank 19 baby Dwights and Megs in my team that obviously have no idea what to do.
I can't play survivor anymore until either the matchmaking gets fixed or I magically find some friends to play with.
-
The only time Spine Chill is annoying or "op" is if it's being used by a Blendette or Blendettes to take the game hostage. You don't have to stare at the gen while approaching it and if they crouch away without UE they won't get far and you'll have a fair chance at finding them.
It's also a good perk to use if trying to open Exit Gates that are next to each other or when unhooking a survivor that's being camped.
When I play as Wraith for example they usually hear my breathing before I activate SC anyway.
With all these second chance perks and Iron Will that stops you from breathing I feel like complaining about SC is just dumb (no offense to anyone intended). It's a good perk that has a fairly easy counter.
-
For some weird reason I tend to have the best games when I don't use an offering as a survivor. It's probably just luck or my imagination but it's become a thing where I feel like I jinx the game if I use an offering.
So yeah I pretty much never use them.
-
Yes sooo much fun. I go into games with the intention of letting at least one person go if they're not annoying and like to see how they play and give mercy where mercy is due.
At one game yesterday I let them do the gens while occasionally hooking people until the exit gates were powered. Then I slugged them, carried them to the door and opened it and watched them crawl out. It was hilarious.
I'm a survivor main but with the current state of soloq I'm definitely having much more fun as a killer.
I suggest not going for that 3-4k but trying to have fun instead.
-
As a survivor and as a killer I back out too because 95% of them DC sooner or later during the game because they get downed/fail to loop or they don't like the killer/map etc.
-
Once you get used to those angles (or lack of them) when using his power he's a terrifying killing machine. I love playing against him and as him.
Hope you have a blast!

Your not wrong.. but it just may be that it's working as intended.. keeps you in a zone that your skill level belongs. 4 is your current high end so you should have a challenge there... Maybe instead of giving you just killers you can outplay to pip, it will give you just worse teammates to even out the overall skill level being brought to the table.. same when your on catch-up from your low end rank but reversed. All just conjecture of course, but this fluctuation happens to me as well.
Yeah I've actually wondered several times if it's a way to keep you in your "skill level" so that the matchmaking sort of works like MMR was supposed to.

This has always happened to me and I dont know why. Its weird.
I'm glad I'm not the only one. It's so weird because of the low rank survivors/killers you get paired with. Like what are the odds that all three other survivors are yellow-green and paired with you against a killer that's way out of everyone's league consistently just to force your rank to drop? And they just keep coming if you get safety pips. You'll get them until you drop a rank.

I play solo and hit rank 3 once. I too bounce between 4 and 6. Although since reset i haven't been able to get past 8 so i guess i just suck lol
I was once stuck at rank 7 after reset. Took a couple of days off and boom back to rank 4. It's so weird. The only time I got higher was during MMR when I reached rank 1 which immediately dropped back to rank 4 after it was turned off (no way I was rank 1 material, totally boosted by MMR).
-
I just love it when you melee with her and end up teleporting two meters from where you were facing the wrong direction. /s
I love Plague. My favourite killer by far but her melee is so broken right now. If you miss you've already lost the chase.
