So the devs just decided to ruin the game for soloQ players

Meanwhile swf remains unchanged and as strong as ever.

  • Yeah, pretty much.

  • Yes, I think they actually did. They know the SWF bullies are the ones making all the promotional videos, buying all the Feng skins, and they know they have to choose one or the other, it's not actually possible to balance the two without segregation.

  • The only solution: stop playing soloQ whatsoever. Dive into the killer queue, get some books to read while you are waiting. This will make the community so much more educated.

I used to play killer a lot actually. Michael was my main. But that was back when killer queue times were actually acceptable. Now I'd just rather play something else.

  • I still don't get why survivors can't have proximity chat. This and perk classes. 90% of the problems at the moment are perk stacking and the inability to communicate in solo queue. People will adapt to timings.

The killer queues are not THAT bad. I actually did have to do that (read books) back in my Overwatch days, however. Those queues were literally longer than the queues of dead games. No kap.

  • I don't get this argument. It's so ridiculous to me that some people are acting like solo queue has been completely destroyed but swf survivors are as strong as ever. Just insane.

How do the killer buffs not affect swf survivors? And how do these killer buffs make solo queue suddenly unplayable? It's Honestly just so, so ridiculous.

The frustrating part is that survivors do need help at the moment, especially solo queue. It's just not fair for killers to get a bunch of good buffs that help them with their frustrations, but survivors getting nothing in return. And those 5 second endurance after being unhooked are not even close to enough.

But people just seem to rather participate in hyperbole than actually voice proper criticism, at least at times it seems. Solo queue is not dead, and swf hasn't been left untouched. The buffs actually help killers, giving them a better and fairer chance at winning. The problem is just that solo survivors didn't get any help, and that camping and tunneling are still as effective as they ever were, and maybe even more now. Pretty bad if you ask me.

Information is more important than any power. SWF get 20+ perks for free.

Yup. I have to equip several aura reading perks to get even a fraction of the information swf have, and then boom, perk slots are full.

  • SWF is obviously nerfed and game is much healthier in term of that, though.

I think they are saying that the buffs to killer weren't enough to make them stronger than SWFs. Realistically all the buffs and nerfs did was make soloQ a even more tragic experience. People were hoping they would buff SoloQ as it was already the worst role before the patch, and then adjust killers accordingly. Instead they just nerfed survivors and buffed killers, making soloQ even more abysmal. If we don't see any changes to help survivors in the coming patch, I will probably just be a Wesker andy.

  • Please tell me this is just in reference to the big patch, and they haven't given us the finger again today with something else

    They are bad.

Sure they are not 15-20min like i saw people post here but still, at least in my region, surv's Queues are instant and killer's over 4min

  • They did, but not because they buffed killer.

My Killer Q times all weekend was instant to upwards of 4-5 mins. Nothing like just after patch. While survivor times were back to 10+ mins. per game.

  • joining random teams isn't always teh best experience, this is true for every online game where you randomly join people. They are always salty about mmr, bad team, threaten to report eachother, so on. But games aren't going to be balanced around people's inability or failure to work together

Unfortunately, I don't think that this game can be balanced in terms of both the SWF and solo versus killer matchups.

Yes, solos could have more tools to communicate - but I'm not sure how much that would actually do.

It's a situation where either SWF, solo or killers are getting the greasy end of things.

My killer queues are between 30 seconds and about 2 minutes now at worst.

Survivor queues are between instant and 2 minutes now.

However...if I think back even 6 months, my survivor queues were in the region of 5 minutes and my killer queues were instant.

Camping is getting a nerf in the next patch, via Reassurance.

That endurance effect is also a big nerf to tunneling, as is OTR.

Yes, you can still tunnel and camp, but they definitely aren't as effective as they once were.

Outside of communication/icons, what help could you give solos that would be a net zero buff for SWFs?

Camping is getting a perk that requires you to have equipped and be within 6m of the hook. After a number of huge base kit buffs to gaming inn 6.1.0. Anyone who wants to camp will still use the hooked person as bait and at minimum force hook trades. Let's not pretend that reassurance creates any additional pressure to leave a hook and go elsewhere when you still have two survivors occupied and possibly two survivors downed/hooked as a result.

Tunneling also got base kit buffs in the same patch. Endurance isn't even close to a deterrent to tunneling, since with the deep wound change they added with it, so you have to do is hit them once and all protection is disabled. And if you happen to be chasing someone on deep wound, there's no incentive or reason to let that survivor recover. What are they gonna to, send more survivors off gens to take hits and reward you with even more free pressure? At least the old DS would have killers waiting it out camping a slug and wasting their own time. Endurance is always instant pick up, every time. The only thing endurance accomplishes is keeping someone from getting immediately farmed to the ground off hook, and hook trading is always an option if you think endurance is 'effective.'

The only way to actually nerf to camping and tunneling is to incentivize the killer to leave the hook and not immediately return. This will take some kind of major change to the core game, probably bigger than the 6.1 patch. I'm not sure the devs see camping and tunneling at 5 gens as a big enough issue to even want to try tackling it at that scope.
