Monkeys paw endgame endurance is back to 10 seconds but early to mid game endurance is now 20 seconds do you accept?
That's not how monkey paws work

Joint Pain - after crouching and uncrouching in a quick succession, your knee joints get injured, making you unable to crouch or sprint, as well as jump into the hatch and run into the fog at the exit gates, for a specified amount of time, until the joints recover and you think well about your behavior.

I don't even know why it's still disabled in the end game. You should be able to use the perk you spent a slot on and saved until the end of the match. I got DS'd in the end game plenty of times in the old days and I still don't see an issue with it.
DS in the end-game is a guaranteed immunity after unhook. The killer literally has no options: if he picks - the survivor escapes, if he slugs - the survivor crawls out. The absolute stupidity of this situation, when the survivor is on the ground right in front of you, and yet you can't do anything, is not something that should be in the game.
-
As has already been said countless times, the "endgame" is just a humiliation ritual for the killer. The killer loses when the last gen pops, after which the whole remaining team proceeds to rubbing it into the killer's face and teabagging the crap out of him with nothing the killer can do about it. If you don't want to suffer that - don't get into that situation, force a win before the last gen, play stronger killers and use stronger tactics, or accept that you lost and the game has no comeback mechanics implemented for the killer.

Maybe something like the infected gamemode from other games. Its random who is the first killer, so everyone plays both roles and their is no hard pressure if you are not that good with one role.
SWFs will ruin this mode by cooperating with their squad mate who gets to play killer. Not that the ordinary 1v4 isn't already ruined by SWFs, but still.

BHVR doesn’t seem to understand that MMR is the most important aspect of the game.
It probably doesn’t make them any money, but with the current stagnation, players will only keep leaving the game.
Please make MMR visible as soon as possible.
but with the current stagnation, players will only keep leaving the game.
Doesn't look like it according to the stats. And the last DLC was sold out like hot cakes. So no, the players keep happily running around in circles with wide open mouths, crying in joy and excitement, and every time someone says something like "players will leave the game" - a few more thousand of happy enjoyers join the fun. This community is the most tolerant one in the multiplayer game industry.

The unfathomable grind is part of their business model. The pathetic x1.10 bloodpoint "incentive" says everything there is to say about their thoughts on this matter.

another example of BHVR not understanding proper game design.
matchmaking needs to have a bit of randomness to it as well, or things like that happens.
People need a break sometimes, even if they're high rank.
I dont remember what game does this (it might actually be more than one), but one method to matchmaking is to deliberately make it slightly unfair - give you some matches where you're "expected" to win, and some matches where you're "expected" to lose - but still without matching you against people completely out of your league. That way it doesn't get as frustrating, like what happened before where people kept getting only sweaty opponents. There are quite a few games with systems like that, with a wide range of actual implementations depending on what you mean here. Mobile p2w games deliberately match players in such a way as to bait them into purchasing stuff, and there is an unconfirmed rumor that Dota 2 has something like "loser's queue", where if you win to many times in a row - you get matched against a stronger team with weaker teammates, where you are doomed to lose, allegedly to keep the winrate at 50%. In both cases it's not something considered good by the general public.

if u see a crow on the locker just fake it and then grab the survivor, if u get stunned u got outplayed, there is no reason to nerf a perk that is not commonly used anyway.
So it's a perk that allows to "outplay" the killer by just AFKing in the locker the whole game, and you see nothing wrong with it?

How about they fix the game first?

how do we fix the lobbies?
sweats/vets get screwed either way, since playing against eachother is what we already have.
but i dont see how including the casuals or making it easier to get into elo-hell would be.
there needs to be more details on how to properly redesign the mmr system.
because from where i stand…you could tweak it so its not so nuisating when playing a new killer.
maybe have an mmr reset every season, if the person doesnt play anymore, they mmr gets lower until brick mmr.
this would incentives people to take more breaks and makes people less tilted when queuing against people that has a huge gap.
problem with this, smurfing will be easily accessable. which idk if thats a good thingmaybe have an mmr reset every season
If only we had a system where MMR would indeed drop down a bracket, say, every month… And it would be also cool if as survivor your rank would actually count how well you performed in the trial, including all the interactions with the killer, teammates and objective, instead of just counting escapes… Ah, no, this system sounds too complicated, almost impossible, I would even say too good to be real.

there is an interesting review on Steam I think about two years back that the person claimed to work for BHVR. In the rant they claimed that BHVR was very aware that over half the players cheat in some way but he didn’t want to do anything because they are paying customers. Again disgruntled employee so take it as is. However the other things were pretty much valid complaints from users. Also those little employee only badges are a dead giveaway of a cheater. There’s one that keeps coming back again and again after being banned. Void something or other. It’s clear they can’t even keep banned cheaters banned.
That was a bait, cheaters are not paying customers, they get their undepletable free accounts on EGS and unlock everything with cheats, all for free. The real reason BHVR are not doing anything is because the playerbase is content and continues to purchase everything even with this state of the game, so no real reason to do anything from the business point of view. When the Stranger Things DLC came out, in every other lobby there were ST characters, so at least half of the active playerbase voted with their money to keep the game in the current state, including the cheater situation.

-
All exhaustion perks should get the dead hard treatment and only activate once per hook state.
-
BHVR doubling down on newer players too much is the main reason why the overall game balance is so abandoned. They value new players much more than older ones, because their business strategy is complete throughput of players, where older ones leave for good and newer ones take their place. This is why the game is in such a sad state right now, and why problems that players have been complaining for ages continue to be ignored. So in this light, I would be against simplifying the game for new players too much, as they are mediately one of the reasons why the game in this state right now.

sadly its impossible to stop the hackers, hackers beat games like cod/csgo etc, the only lucky thing is that hackers are not smart, if they were smart and for example give everyone in the lobby infinite bloodpoints somehow after every game, they could get everyone banned and ruin the game, this happen in games like wuthering waves where u log online and if u encounter a hacker then he will transfer to u infinite money and force a ban on ur account.
It is possible to stop server-sided cheats by implementing server-side validation. Cheaters in cod/cs can't use speedhacks, can't fly, can't become invulnerable, etc.

Considering the less popular, but more ideologically approved one was appointed as the "winner", the only way they can redeem it is to make if not all survivor, then at least the two participating in the last "vote". But I doubt it will happen.

Four 3-letter words, not a single one of them being SWF. Do you actually play killer?
-
If you never played killer, the first several games you will be playing in the baby MMR bracket, against brand new survivors who don't know how to press W to move forward. Those survivor mains you are talking about try killer, wipe the floor with potato survivors and think killer is easy. Actual killer mains have to grind through layers of SWF sweat bully squads at the peaks of MMR, so nothing easy is going on for them.

It's not the long queue issue.
It's the fact that queue says it's estimated time is 30 minutes, but then it puts you in a match in 5 from time to time.
I am not going to copy-paste, just read my full thing, comment above yours. What you are describing is a backfill. The usual queue is long, but sometimes you can get lucky and get backfilled when someone dodges the lobby for whatever reason. People get used to the long queue and go take a walk while waiting. If it took up to 1 minute on average, none of this would be happening, so yes, the problem is the long queue.
-
So many band-aid "solutions" in this thread, addressing the consequence instead of the root problem, which being the otherworldly long queue. You should be thinking about fixing that instead. And to do this, we must first think: why do so many players suddenly rush into this killer queue, while in the regular 1v4 the queues are more balanced? Because a lot of SWF mains switch from survivors to play killers over comms in 2v8. Once again, SWFs are the root of all evil. The simplest solution to the queue problem would be to disable queuing with contacts, only leaving to queue with randoms, so that SWF mains continue SWFing as survivors and keep the queues healthy.

I primarily play killer during this mode, and here are a few lessons learned from this iteration that I think should be implemented based on my ~100+ hours from this 2v8 gameplay experience:
- Remove 2 of Nemesis' zombies, increase zombie respawn time, reduce zombie walking speed, remove the ability for killers to see zombies - currently nemesis is too oppressive, and I find matches quite boring when I am queued with a Nemesis player because of the free slowdown his zombies provide.
- Remove the ability for instadown/dash killers to use shadow - Completely unfair for survivors, I feel bad when I play Billy with shadow or Wesker with shadow
- Remove Oni until blood orbs despawn after 90 seconds or his power time is cut in half - there is no reason Oni should have unlimited access to blood orbs. This isn't like 1v4 where he is fairly weak until he gets his power, as he has another teammate to help. Oni is the most oppressive killer in this mode currently.
- Remove the third dashes from Wesker and Dracula - two are more than enough from my experience
- Fix Chucky's buggy animations - half the time he looks like he is either t-posing during attacks or is flying around the map
- Increase exhaustion to 60 seconds - sprint burst is off cooldown way too frequently
- Reduce pallet density - this just goes without saying
- Actually have an accurate time estimate within reason for queue times - 22 minutes estimate should not mean 5 minutes of real life time
These are just a few things from the most recent 2v8 experience that I think can be improved. Please let me know what you all think, thanks. 👍️
based on my ~100+ hours from this 2v8 gameplay experience
Considering the killer queue takes half an hour, and an average game takes 10 minutes, those 100 hours of mature experience would translate to 25 hours of actual gameplay and 75 hours of pure waiting.

hatch isn't the problem its the killer ego that feels the need to draw out matches because they got tbagged once and now they've gone full Joker.
hatch is a match formality to wrap out a match whose conclusion is already decided. it's prettier than just crashing the game the second it's a 1v2.
the problem is that killers see "ESCAPE" when it's just a mere formality to move on to the next game and get weird about it. just hook the 2nd last and move on GG, if the last Survivor types GG ez just ignore the rage bait
Half of the survivor community members, who always sit on the hatch and teabag, before jumping into it in killer's face and saying "gg ez noob killer" in the chat, would kindly disagree with you.
-
I've received one receipt about "actions being taken" on one of my reports about the trashtalk in the chat. So the system is there, at least it worked some time in the past. Needless to say that the total amount of reports I've sent is uncountable, and only one of them has led to any actions, but still. I also can't tell for sure what exactly had this magic power of triggering the reaction, because I didn't remember what and who exactly was reported (the receipt doesn't tell you). I can tell for sure that death threats, death wishes, racist/phobic slurs, slurs concerning physical and mental health, references to your relatives, sexual and other harassment don't trigger anything, as I've reported countless of those without getting any feedback. What was that one sin that was actually taken into account is still a mystery for me, I hope someone with more experience or better records can make a better guess.
-
If the queue is still half an hour long, then it's not busted enough. I would rather play an unbalanced game than no game at all, if we have to choose.
-
Daily reminder:
Survivors can leave without penalty the moment they hit the ground.
Killers have to endure for 2 minutes while survivors are teabagging at the gates, no privilege of free leaving whatsoever.
SWF hasn't been addressed for 10 years and counting.
The devs favor survivors, and there are hard proofs of that.

And some people dont realize what they're saying.
What's the reaction a when a killer are forced to sit through the endgame collapse because a survivor felt like trolling and decided to hide somewhere using plot-twist during endgame?
Well, if this is the issue, it seems you dislike having your time wasted at the end of the game. This is fair and I totally agree. Lets see you're solution to this problem of wasting time.
They now slug for the 4k because they don't want to deal with those things.
Oh! Great solution! Waste MORE time! Brilliant! So, wasting time is fine, as long as you're in control of said time wasting. Got it.
Some people really don't realize why these things happen to begin with.
Couldn't agree with you more.

And this is the taint that keeps the toxicity alive. Nice work! But, again you're logic is just full of holes.
They do understand it, they just don't care. They never play as the killer, so they believe the killer is there just to entertain them. Just read how the OP post is written, the style says it all. The best we can do is to return the favor and intentionally use all the "mean tactics" they complain about here. I didn't usually slug for 4k, but now I will do it more often, thanks to the OP.
Was gonna pick it apart, but the paragraph as a whole is pretty childish levels of spite for spite's sake. You have no idea what others are thinking, you are merely projecting the us vs them because its fun! 'The best we can do' lol. This is pretty low to everyone else if you think your solution is 'the best we can do.'
You have no idea what others are thinking, you are merely projecting the us vs them because its fun!
Read the OP again, it's us vs them written all over it, there is nothing else to project.
This is pretty low to everyone else if you think your solution is 'the best we can do.'
We could also appeal to reason, but it didn't seem to work for the last 10 years. The only way to fight the ignorance caused from lack of experiences is to provide said experiences. In other words, do unto them as they do unto you, if this doesn't make them learn - nothing ever will. You can't force survivor-only players to play killer, can you?

Agree, here is an easy fix: remove the hatch.
-
Why would anyone wait for 30 minutes in the queue just to stay AFK?

You know the teabagging is the answer to bleedout slugging and humping, right.
You killer players are not any better, if you want to go down that rabbit hole.
Either ignore the BM, or keep on doing it. The only one to blame is yourself, if you keep on BM'ing, and the other side will BM back. Simple as that.I really don't condone BM'ing on either side, unless it is warranted (i.e. catching a cheater, or a blatant troll)
Yeah, except killers usually get BM'ed without having done anything "toxic" towards survivors.
-
The Pig being stunned by a pallet.
-
Hard tunneling is the only reliable measure against teabagging at the exit gates, so survivors are living in the doomed world of their own creation.
-
Up to this point, there is no official definition of "regular gameplay", which makes phrases like this "refusing to participate in regular gameplay" essentially meaningless. Countless times people asked whether it was "reportable" for killers to farm, or even to give hatch (which also can be considered as "not regular gameplay"), and the devs have never answered these questions. We still don't know whether killer farming is "reportable" according to the rules, which are not written anywhere but assumed to be somehow known by everyone. We only know that in practice no one has been banned for it yet, as well as for other definitely reportable things, so it also doesn't tell much: it could be not bannable, or it could be bannable but neglected, like the rest of offenses. Nobody knows for sure.

You're only forced to wait 2 minutes if you're not willing to go hit them out.
I get it, nobody likes being bmed but if you think you're being bmed regardless why wait 2 minutes instead of just getting it over as fast as possible.
Also you completely missed my point, IF abandon on survivor was not a thing then they WOULD be forced to wait out their bleedout timer if the Killer decided so, that is 100% the main reason why abandon was even added.
They could make the abandon feature only activate after several seconds of lying on the ground, so that they couldn't cheese their way out of the mori. But the devs intentionally made it activate instantly, so that the survivor's ego would not be shattered. So no, it's not because of the bleedout, not even close.
-
@Brokenbones said:

Again, the rebuttal to that is one side has something they can do about it whereas the other side would be forced to sit there and take it or get a DC penalty.
Just because they are both forms of annoying BM doesn't make them 100% the same in practice. If this was old DBD where there was no endgame collapse OR Survivors were 100% invincible in the exit gate area then yes, you would be completely correct in your point.
"Forced to sit there" for a few seconds - gets to abandon.
Forced to wait for 2 minutes - no abandon option.
Yup, no issue here, absolutely fair and no entitlement of one side over the other, sure.
-
It's funny how the same survivors who say killers don't need the abandon feature to avoid teabagging now justify the same thing on survivors in this thread. You can't get more one-sided and hypocrite than that.
-
Yes, this is the other half of the problem, the first being the absence of any sensible server-sided validation of client actions, making all kinds of cheats even possible. But they won't do anything: the recent DLC sold well, there is an ST character in every other game, so the playerbase is still 100% happy with the current state of the game, no point in fixing something that is not broken.
-
And yet the Ghostface still gets snapped out by a hooked survivor. It only goes one way, doesn't it, always one way.
-
You are not supposed to outplay him, you are supposed to purchase the DLC for ez wins as him.
-
What now?!
-
subtle cheating is getting out of hand
That's some breaking news you got there.
-
Survivors are 80% of the playerbase, therefore 80% of the revenue. Go figure, why the devs cater to them.
