Sounds like a good way to remove the last measure players have against cheaters, so that you can't dodge legacy prestige EGS gamers and people with VAC bans on private profiles.
-
You don't need teleport when you can just hit people through walls from a huge distance. Also, Nurse 2's map traversal is the best in the game, while Nurse 1's is one of the worst.
-
A lot of players purchased the last Stranger Things DLC, and every DLC purchase is a vote cast in the "the game is fine" box. So far, you complainers are outnumbered by the happy and content playerbase who doesn't have any problem with cheaters and happily invests in the game further, therefore this issue will not be looked into at least until the next DLC, when the new electoral cycle will happen.
-
Not only it's a new killer, it's a new licensed killer, so it just couldn't be otherwise.
-
You know that by "removing the breakable walls" BHVR will understand it as to make them all solid walls instead, right?

Let me outright say it, then: Killer is a more stressful, punishing role than Survivor. I could gave a crap-ton of reasons why that's the case, but all I need to say, for the sake of brevity, is that said fact is supported by mathematics: Killer = each person having 100% responsibility for each mistake made, while Survivor = each person having 25% responsibility for each mistake made.
Not only that, the killer is the 1 playing against the 4 in the 1v4. Playing alone against 4 equal players is always more stressful and difficult than being one in a team of four bullying a single enemy player. This is the most essential source of stress in playing killer, and it can't be fixed completely, only remedied by making this lonely role more powerful with in-game mechanics. People who don't think Killer is more stressful than Survivor have never played Killer long enough to get out of the baby MMR bracket.

Didn’t Ghoul get nerfed pretty quickly after release?
It was a symbolic nerf, as to this day he is an S-tier with low complexity and skill floor.
-
Yes, it's basically a licensed Nurse, and because it's a newly released killer, they won't nerf him for a long time. So just accept you are not going to escape against him to avoid excessive frustration.
-
It's a licensed killer who just got released, he is immune to proper nerfs for the next 2 years, so you have nothing to worry about.

Trapper has been bugged for months now (traps injuring survivors don't count as special attacks anymore) and they haven't done anything about it.
So it's a shadow buff then? If the survivor is exposed, will they be insta-downed when it happens?
-
He is no longer sold, so brings 0 revenue, therefore they probably won't ever touch him again.
-
In DbD gesture language, bodyblocking with basekit BT is asking for being tunneled. It would be impolite to refuse such a desperate request.

Why would they do that..?
They are trying to make something that people actually want. If they wanted to do whatever they want, they can just do what they've done before. They can have actual vote results just to "test the waters" and then set something else at the end, for any reason. For example, the blue-haired girl could be winning, but then they decide that the older character would be more "inclusive" and "politically correct", so they just declare she won. Sounds to me like the most likely case, although not the only one possible.
-
It's funny how trusting this community is to BHVR. I mean, why are you so assured this whole vote is even real? There is no way to confirm it, as it's done through their own closed system. Hypothetically, nothing stops them from just making any result they want at any moment, and saying "the community has voted".
-
The killer should catch up eventually on BL3, it seems that survivors is just an "EGS gamer".
-
Licensed killers don't get killswitched, so just wait for the fix I guess.
-
Against competent survivors, endgame is just a humiliation ritual for the killer. It is mathematically impossible to hook a survivor far enough from the gates, because with the new 15-second basekit endurance, they cover longer distance with it than the killer carrying a survivor, unless the killer has Agitation. So if there are more than 2 survivors left and the killer can't counter that indurance (like Blight), it's pointless to even try to do anything there. The killer essentially loses once the last gen pops, and even earlier, if 2 gens pop with 0 hooks or with 4th gen done with 0 kills, as all those cases also lead to a loss.
-
So, in other words, nothing changed

If you don't fork over cash you get nothing until March, not even the bugs they said they fixed were entirely removed either. Who cares if some of the weaker killers and perks of either side are bad, have you considered buying our new legendaries*?
*haha careful though we might take the money and not give you any auric cells haha
They also introduced new bugs with this update, by the way. At least the more hard auto-aim on the hooked survivors, harder rubber-banding for Nurse and the pallet stun distance is even longer now for some reason. Each of these bugs has its own thread in the main discussion section. And here is the kicker: guess which killer is not affected by any of these bugs? Who can ignore pallets, hit unhooking survivors without M1 and is not a Nurse? What a coincidence, huh?
-
They seem to have increased the stun range even further in this update, I'm getting stunned almost from behind the corner at the jungle gyms.
-
After getting my hit denied by the rubber banding for 1000th time I just gave up and switched to Blight. I guess it's their way of silently nerfing the Nurse without the community backlash.
-
It's been like this for ages, and it's intentional, because survivors asked them to make it safe to farm at the killer's face, so they were happy to oblige. It's similar to the basekit BT and came to life about the same time, although for some reason it was never announced.
-
Getting stunned/blinded 5 times should be enough, as it only happens when the killer is being actively bullied, should be fair considering the freedom of abandon survivors have.
Exit gates being powered should also be a valid reason, as the game is basically over for the killer, but the survivor still will drag it on for 2 more minutes of teabagging, it's literally the mirror situation of survivor's "free DC if slugged". They say they value players' time, but in reality they only value survivors' time, as only they got the abandon while killers in the same situation still have to either wait for 2 minutes or eat the DC penalty.

That was the ptb patch notes, maybe tomorrow we will see some surprise actual changes in the live notes. But if really it ships with no changes to shake up the meta or at least give some attention to the underused stuff, that'll be very disappointing indeed
Surprise actual changes: anti-slug and anti-camping returned in the initial design, anti-go-next reverted to the original June version, pallet density is reworked once again, the QoL Initiative chapter is closed as successful.

They would help DbD, but not BHVR, so not gonna happen.

There should be a category or section on these forums that lets us report Cheaters
There should be a basic server-side validation system that would make such blatant cheating impossible, without the need to crowdsource BHVR's work with manual reports.

From what I remember, their current servers do not do any "sanity" checks, like looking for impossible speeds or positions etc. and just accept what they receive. And I believe they'd have to purchase the next tier servers that cost wayyyyyyy more to do anything along these lines.
And I believe they'd have to purchase the next tier servers that cost wayyyyyyy more to do anything along these lines.
Nonsense. If the servers can handle the game itself, nothing will change if they add some trivial checks there. It's just implementation issue, it would take some effort to rework the server code and keep it from falling apart in the process, all while they have to implement a new killer power every 3 months and keep existing bugs in check. They probably lack staff to do all this and decided to keep it that way.

SWF-sided. SWF eat killers, killers eat soloQ. It has always been like this.
-
@diablo916 said:
Idk man i dont think people realize how toxic the survivor community of this game actually is. Look at arc raiders. I stopped playing because of voice chat. Even though you can turn it off, imagine you get a toxic teammate who is shittalking you the entire game because youre not playing optimally. This game would die if you made voicechat a thing. Plus not to mention the balance would be even more offset to the survivor side than it is now.
Nothing will happen to the balance, as most survivors already play in SWF and already play with full comms (those who don't, have already burned out and quit dbd or switched to killer, there is only so much a mortal can take). So it only will make the stats more correct, removing the outlying 4 soloQ teams that get wiped out at 5 gens by the killer sneezing too hard.
-
@LinkToReality said:
They can't do anything to help SoloQ with the items and perks as that would just strengthen SWF too…
SoloQ got the UI improvements and those were big. The only think I could see added would be a notification system like pickable lines like "Going for unhook", "Luring killer", "Staying on gen" etc.How do you tag a totem you have seen while being chased by the killer? You can do it in SWF. How do you tag traps? You can do it in SWF. How can you track spawned and dropped pallets around the map? You can do it in SWF. How do you tag the killer, telling your team his exact location and what he is currently doing? You can do it in SWF. How can you tell your team your suspicions about the killer's perks? You can do it in SWF. How can you tell your team "fall near this locker, I have head on"? You can do it in SWF. How can you tell your chased teammate the killer is double-backing or moon-walking behind the wall? You can do it in SWF.
As you can see, adding voice commands gives only a mere fraction of SWF power, a negligible one at that.

A self-imposed 3v1 isn't much of a counter
Not 3v1 if they return to do gens as soon as the killer switches to someone else. Once again, SWFs have the full vision of the map, so they always can make these kind of decisions.
-
@Nazzzak said:
I think a big part of why people don't see it much is because it's likely more commonly used by full swf teams and they aren't as prevalent as people like to believe.
The first and only time I equipped StB was a few days ago when I got it randomly in CS, and the killer spread hooks and I was the first to be hooked second. So I didn't even have a chance to use it. As for why solo queuers aren't likely to use it, I'll go with all of your above reasons - the risk is too high to carry for team mates who tend to disappoint you more often than not.
Yes, it's mainly usable by SWFs, but no, people rarely encounter it not because they rarely encounter SWFs, but because SWFs have better means to counter tunneling. If they are organized, they can just hide their teammate the whole game, they won't even need the Shoulder in the first place.
-
Might be intended, because the killer usually gets two brown addons while survivors mainly get purple and iri ones in my games. Judging by how the RNG favors survivors, I wouldn't be surprised if there is an intentional chance for the killer to get nothing.
-
Forcing to play random killers would lead to most games with the killer staying in the corner as they have no idea or patience to play most of the roster. Making one random player the killer will not even work with SWFs allowed in the queue.
-
Entitlement. Survivors almost ALWAYS teabag at the exit gates, even if they just won against the Pig, and there are even cases of survivors saying EZ in the chat after you give them the hatch. They also like to get angry if they lose, complaining about tunneling and camping that didn't happen, and I was even accused of unfairly using my tail as the Xenomorph! The reason behind all of this is basic human psychology, because survivors are the bully role in DbD and it attracts the respective kind of players. It will also happen in SWF much more often than in soloQ. People in SWF queue up to bully a random player and they refuse to leave until they finish doing just that, while losing makes them furious and looking for excuses. Sore losers, sore winners, the classic of SWF.
-
Nurse's bug is the most frustrating one. Survivors won't even know the rubber-banding happened, they will think you just missed the blink. If they are unable to fix it, they should at least add some kind of notification for this, so that the survivors know you missed because of the bug and not because you are just bad.
-
Because survivors are the majority of the playerbase, the majority is always louder.
-
Let her wait in the queue of other broken killers please. Nurse's rubber banding bug has not been fixed for 3 years and counting, for example.

because bhvr allowed 2 killers who by design are incompatible with Lights Out; Doc and Legion.
they violated the spirit of the mode so they never should have been allowed. if you love Legion that much you woulda been fine being a Trapless Trapper but they didn't do that.
It seems there is a pattern with the Legion.

You know she is in a uniquely bad spot when you realize she is the only 110% killer with no ranged attack.

Interesting how culture dependent such things are: in the Russian community, nobody ever calls it "humping" or anything similar. They call it just "trampling" and such, never associating it with anything sexual, because this is what it physically is. Only westerners see something sexual in this simple walking back and forth, probably because some streamers forced this idea (I don't remember people call it "humping" before 2020 at least).
Even survivors' teabagging is closer to "sexual harassment" in this regard, because Russians also call it "teabagging", and being "teabagged" by 4 people at once must feel extra horrible, I guess we should address this then, huh?
-
After the upcoming licensed Nurse 2 you will be remembering all those Ghouls with a nostalgic tear.

I dont have personal experience with this but people claim its still up and they are getting time penalties from those fast deaths (under minute) which I belive its still up because if it wasnt I guarantee i would had have more survivors giving up and going next (for ban hammer moderators I dont spread here goingnext or giving up and Im not promoting it either).
I don't think it is even possible now to die under a minute other than by being mori'd by a cheater. So if it's true, people are essentially being punished for being matched with a cheater, as it is the only realistic trigger for this type of punishment at the moment.

I think those insta killing killer cheaters sound better but in reality all they do is that you have super fast hame that doesnt waste your time but in reality you will get ban or more penalty because you died too fast and game considers it as giving up which sucks because anti go next is good thing but bad think cheaters can use this to spread killer bots and cause pain to other players by giving them penalties due to dying way faster.
Subtles are pain but the most cheaters I killed were subtle because they dont use those hacks that cant be beaten and they are generaly super bad even with wallhacks and speeding behind corners.
Didn't they kill switch this "anti go next" penalty system for dying too fast this summer? Or it's back on now?
-
Xeno is the chillest killer in the roster. If nothing works out, you can just hide in the tunnels where the survivors can't hurt you! Almost like the Nurse hiding behind the gates, but better.

then what do you imply? making all 2v8 killers useless resulting in everyone playing survivor and no one playing killer?
Killer queue is so long because too many players queues as killer and there are not enough survivors. If you make the killer stronger, even more people will queue as killer and less as survivor, thus extending the queue further.

What "shortcuts" do the Survivors have? Genrushing isn't a shortcut. Spreading hooks puts a stop to that real quick. Tunneling out the first Survivor also puts a stop to that real quick. Slugging everyone puts a stop to that real quick, and then the game is over. What equivalent do the Survivors have?
Killers have no speed ability? They're always faster than Survivors at base, even before bloodlust comes into play. And all those dashing Killers (Blight, Nurse, Wesker, etc.) and all those teleporting Killers would like a word.
What "shortcuts" do the Survivors have?
Up to 16 second-chance perks per team, that give several additional lives
Saves and sabos, that also essentially give unlimited additional lives
Using external software to gain in-game advantage (e.g. discord)
-
If you buff 2v8 killers even more, the queue will grow so long you will have to make an appointment to play killer in advance of 5 business days.
