which is crazy because atleast Forums have moderation from real people and much easier to navigate.

The discord is moderated by real people. In fact in the past two months there has been a colossal banwave on a lot of long time users for pretty petty reasons.

Getting onto a tangent here but I think it's probably due to them shutting down the forums and wanting to be more strict but also like way more strict than they were on here? Idk

  • That sucks. This place always felt more chill to browse than the subreddit being well... reddit. The discord is also inconsistent and weird sometimes. It's nice to have an alternative but I guess forums are just a dying medium outside of reddit.

    I can't wait for this.

I wonder with you having mutes if you'd add character voices to it on a proximity possibly, I've always loved characters interacting with each other in games like this <3

Stuff like OW hearing voicelines interupted coz they got hit was always so funny. It also can be more immersive like Resident Evil Outbreak's ad-libs <3 just an idea.

On the surface this sounds really cool but it could get really annoying with spam, or could be used as a tool for bming. Be it to the killer or other survivors. Even with the mute option it seems like it'd be tiresome.

Anyone who played og Overwatch should remember the old meme of Genjis spamming that they need healing constantly.

  • It would be helpful if you could use keyboard bindings for these. Having to pull up a wheel on m&k controls sounds really annoying.

  • You got a lot of basic stuff down but you could expand more and there's stuff you're not really correct about. Hag requires a lot of game-sense, general macro knowledge, and on-the-fly decision making. Your strategy and/or what you are forced to do can change radically depending on the map, rng, and game state. I don't have the energy to make an actual guide about all of this so I will just speak my mind and give some tips. This isn't going to be very organized.

I hate corrupt on Hag unless I am pairing it with Secret Project. Generally one of the worst things that can happen while playing Hag is getting spotted early in the trial. Moment you get spotted you are likely to get harassed if you don't address it or can't break line of sight. Especially against a SWF whom can call your location. While corrupt prevents survivors from hopping on generators right away, it also generally pushes them in your direction immediately. The undetectable from Secret Project makes this less of an issue.

The build I generally run if I want to be most effective is TBTC, Pain Res, DMS, and Agitation/Sloppy. The slowdown is extremely helpful, but this slowdown is especially helpful because she both lacks mobility and needs to focus on a lot of other things. Pain Res/DMS is just great info in general too. In terms of addons I run blue necklet and cicada generally. Necklet frankly should be basekit but I digress.

    Trap Placement

    • A rule of thumb that will help a lot with getting better at your trap placement as both Hag AND Trapper. While playing through a trial and you go through a scenario where you're like "man I wish I had a trap there", remember that. Keep it in mind both in the moment and going forward.
    • Trapping downed god pallets is not really a good idea. Better survivors will know that they can just immediately crouch after fast vaulting to not set off the trap. Best to just break the thing most of the time unless you want to get bullied.
    • Try to avoid having traps close to one another. Bunching traps together means they will get burnt through faster, you won't have as much area coverage, and it lets survivors W through multiple traps in succession.
    • Survivors are more likely to path towards a downed pallet than a broken one. With this in mind, you can choose to (or not to) break a pallet to better predict or wrangle where the survivors are going to path.
    • Pre-trapping certain hooks can be pretty helpful due to their convenient placement. Hooks can spawn near loops, inside loops, or just in general convenient places of pathing traffic. This multi purposes your trap. You already have the hook trapped ahead of time so you don't need to bother trapping the hook, and you also have a helpful trap for use in general. Saves you time and traps.
    • Try to put your mind in the head of the survivors. Where are they gonna go? How are they going to run? What will they want to do? What might they be doing right this moment? These are all things you should keep in mind when choosing where to place your traps. Same applies to Trapper actually.

For some general tips off the top of my head…

    • Be unpredictable
    • Don't be afraid to slug people but never exclusively slug people. Usual slugging downsides on killer aside, no hooking means no trapped hook. Also means you can't as effectively control where the survivor is on the map as they can crawl around.
    • When a survivor sets off a trap while you're chasing them/while you can see them, try to quickly recognize whether or not they are gonna just keep running straight or flick. That way you can recognize whether you should insta-lunge, not insta-lunge, keep running at them, or just not react.
    • It's ok to commit to chases depending on the situation. If you just huddle around your little hole all game with survivors running off and healing all you might be doing (depending on the situation) is stalling the game out and making no progress. Use your game sense and macro awareness. Keep in mind people's locations and pay attention to whether or not they are healing or something. Getting a down at all is also important to even get a snowball rolling. If you get a map like Ormond Mine or some ######### where you can't hide traps effectively its especially important to more freestyle your traps and focus on getting a down to snowball rather than defending a sandcastle.
    • Her being 4.4 does not mean you shouldn't do M1 chase. As stupid as being 4.4 is, you shouldn't solely rely on your traps or commit to setup.
    • You are not Trapper. Hag's trap are not permanent like his are and you don't need to waste time picking them up. This makes you flexible but also requires you to be constantly on your ass in terms of trap placement and macro.
    • Not really a gameplay tip but don't stress over win streaking and #########. As Hag you can get ######### over by a number of things out of your control and your gameplay experience isn't going to normally (if the survivors aren't stupid) as laidback as much stronger and straightforward killers. Kinda goes for a lot of lower tier killers but still. Don't let the stress get to you.
    • Don't waste time bumbling around. Every decision you make matters. Goes for playing DBD in general but its especially so with Hag.

    MINT RAG BAD

Sometimes I feel like I am insane for thinking this way but Mint Rag is awful and it annoys me how commonly recommended and hyped it is. The addon is horribly jank. Teleporting to specific traps is bound to the same key as normal trap teleports. This means a trap is set off, you physically has to turn your camera to face the trap to teleport to it. If you don't you are most likely teleporting to the wrong trap. Even if you DO face the direction of the trap, you can still end up teleporting to the wrong one. Additionally, every time you teleport with the addon you are burning through a trap you need to reset.

The addon also encourages a playstyle of hopping between specific areas rather than having proper trap coverage and constantly setting traps across a wider area. Something which is much more easily countered by people Wing through traps than normal and generally very inefficient on maps like Ormond Mine where you need to focus on the aggressive snowball/camp more than anything.

Mint Rag also makes running Shackle mandatory which means so speedup or trigger range reduction addon, no mind gaming with Traps, etc.

I dunno why everyone is pissing themselves this event. Its just like any other. Boring, uninspired and just like the event with killers having remote hooking, remote pallet break and being able to expose survivors with an invitation we have another event with more dumb stuff that isnt engaging.

But tbf I don't really think its BHVR's fault for this outcome of the last few events. The communities complaints to having side objectives in these events just means we get bare bones.

Part pallets and blocking vaults was so ######### funny as survivor last event. Last year's masquerade was fun cause it gave both sides wacky and fun stuff to play around with.

That aside, poison bottles are simply very boring to play against as survivor and become repetitive as killer. The act of poisoning objects, which is presumably how Behavior expected people to largely use them for, is completely meaningless and a waste of resources.

  • Poison bottles are fun to use even if they are very repetitive

  • The portals are hard countered by Trapper and Hag which is incredibly funny to me.

Also the invisibility does not make survivors immune to damage or killer powers, and if you hit them with poison while they are invisible you can actually see them. They also shuffle grass and stuff.

  • This event is themed around the Black Vale, which is an entirely separate and far FAR more significant thing.

Tryks is great but this is also super interesting.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

And the goalpost gets moved further and further. Killers know that if they complain enough, they get more and more from the Devs. Now Sprint Burst is the target, once this is done, we will see people calling for Lithe-Nerfs.

You dont lose games because of Sprint Burst. You lose games because you are not as good as you think you are. Try to improve instead of getting everything nerfed.

Feel free to downvote, this is also easier than trying to become good at a game.

Any killer who lacks high mobility or range is hard countered by the perk. This isn't a goalpost thing. If anything it warps killer design to compensate for it.

  • I play default Dwight because its funny

  • The issue isn't anti-exhaustion, it is the exhaustion perks themselves and Vigil.

I honestly think that the only reason she's not 4.6 is because she's already among the strongest basement defenders/campers/tunnelers in the game despite her slow speed, and making her faster would make those playstyle even stronger. Lets be honest, we rarely see team-wipes from Hags by chases, it's mostly done by SoloQ Survivors after failed attempts at basement rescues resulting in a snowball, not unlike Trapper.

If they give a radius around hooked Survivors where traps can't be placed, then sure. But having a 4.6 Killer that can warp back to hooks from half the map away if a Survivor triggers a trap (or even without that with the right add-on) could feel pretty bad from the Survivor's POV.

That, and also because I think BHVR revealed stats and Hag's stats were hovering around the 60% mark despite her abysmal pickrate, which is their goal no matter the manner or how miserable it feels to play to get those results.

Removing hook trapping would make her genuinely unplayable. Also her kill rate is not above 60% according to the most recent stat post. Also most killers seem to be bellow 60 going of the recent stat post really, but that's a whole other discussion.

  • @Elan said:

    Make her 4.6

    Make her traps bodyblocking base

Make her being able to teleport to chosen trap every 30s

    Make her traps uncleansable

Boom, Hag is B now, cheers everyone enjoy.

Why would you need to make scarred hand basekit? It is totally unnecessary and takes away all the mindgaming in chase with traps.

Mint Rag sucks ass right now because of how absurdly clunky it is to use. Simply making the effect basekit would arguably make her worse. When using the addon you need to physically turn to face triggered traps to teleport to them or risk going to a trap you don't want to which puts you out of position, wastes a ton of time, burns TWO traps effectively, and misses out on a survivor. Even if you do face a triggered trap you STILL have a chance of teleporting to the wrong trap.

Trap wiping is extremely irritating but it is not the main problem, it just made her situation worse. Most people "disarm" her traps by intentionally setting them off when she can't respond to it, Sprint Bursting, or from a distance that prevents her from hitting them out of the teleport and puts distance before a chase.

Body blocking traps doesn't do anything but remove the skill involved with mind gaming and such.

Mint Rag is horrendously bad due to how clunky it is, and making it basekit as is would actually make her worse. While using the addon you have to physical turn to face a triggered trap to teleport to it or you just end up going to the wrong trap which puts you out of position, wastes TWO traps, and misses a survivor. Even if you DO face the trap you are still likely to go to the incorrect trap if its closer to you or you aren't facing the triggered trap perfectly. Teleporting with Mint Rag for the sake of mobility also burns through traps fast unless you are constantly taking the time to reset every trap you go to.

Wiping is irritating and only added to her problems however the vast majority of people S tech or set off traps when she can't respond to or make use of it.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/467884/make-hag-4-6

Yes, fair and good take. And no weird "compensation nerfs" either. I also think she should keep her smaller terror radius even if they make her 4.6, just like Sadako who is 4.6 but also has a 24m terror radius.

Also turn one of her brown addons into the waterlogged shoe, and turn the waterlogged shoe into a new addon. Because chag is more fun than regular hag and I wanna play her without needing to get expensive iri addons.

But also rework Rusty Shackles, that addon is lame to play against for experienced players, and confusing and unfair for newer players. Not as a compensation nerf or anything, but because this addon is poorly designed and makes an already rare killer which most players don't know how to play against even more unintuitive to play against.

Waterlogged Shoe makes sense as a red addon because it completely alters how you play her. Both of her red addons do this. However given how incredibly popular it is as an alternate playstyle it definitely should at least be like, green.

Her addons as a whole need to be overhauled really. Vast majority of them are the same effect but different number, and if you are playing her optimally you are generally only running one of three specific ones. They could really make all of either her blue or green addons basekit frankly. Give her addons that apply exhaustion or some ######### instead.

  • Bias cause I main Hag but I always respect the extremely rare fellow Hag main.

  • Jason doesn't feel like they are playing it safe at all. He is incredibly fun and, although it may not seem like it on paper, unique.

  • They get easily spooked by the killer's terror radius or line of sight is why.

Critters. You could have the big Krite from the 1st movie as the killer if you wanted a 'normal' sized killer or the more typical sized ones for a 3rd person, chucky sized killer.

Ball form for a fast moving mode, able to shoot a hindering tranq dart on a cooldown, basic M1 chomp attack - boom, simple M1 killer with reasonable mobility.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/M1XKOUOAO8LV/image.png

Critters is a great one but I'd honestly rather have Gremlins if not both.

  • Since I havent said one, I might as well throw in that I really want Akira from Devilman as a killer.

As far as icons of horror in media, Akira is probably the most significant for manga and anime. Devilman was one of the most influential manga of its time if not in history on top of being incredibly horrific and generally befitting of DBD. I have never seen the reboot Crybaby before so idk how well THAT would fit but the original Devilman would be amazing, especially standing alongside Tomi.

I'm pretty sure that Laurie and Quentin are 17 in their individual films, unless BHVR has changed their age when coming into the realm.

Quentin's redesign was based on what the actor looked like at the time of said redesign, presumably because him asking for them to fix his face was the reason they did it at all. Idk how relevant it is but he technically isn't based physically on a teenager.

  • I'm pretty confident that it is just purely random. It works just as it does in-game with killers and survivors being sort of randomly paired with one another and then for the trial being placed on a random realm that is used for them.

The end of Frank Stone was not the Entity taking an entire world, but devouring it. The Entity devours fallen worlds, be it worlds that have done so on their own or through the entity's direct meddling.

Also at least some of what you mentioned are not killers. The Entity's realms are shaped by the collective unconscious and contain monsters beyond just the killers. The Creatures from the Fog harassing the Observer as another example are not killers, and are presumably monsters sent by the Entity. Stuff like the spiders or rabbits are examples of the entity meddling with worlds for its own amusement and to speed up their demises before being devoured. They aren't killers but they are creatures that were created by the entity. Tryks has also been described as and shown having created monsters of her own, immediate example coming to mind being the monsters she sent to the Observer to as a joke. There are also monsters from The Void, which itself is largely a mystery but is still presumably effected by the collective unconscious So whether or not some beings are even Entity specific creations can be up for debate.

  • I would highly recommend going through the very first two tomes before anything else for a multitude of reasons. Regardless of the order of things you got through after.

  • This is something I have been thinking about and wanting for a while now. It'd be especially useful on killers who really need specific addons and stuff. Being able to auto level Trapper while ensuring the auto leveler prioritizes four addons that actually matter to him and RPD badges would be so convenient. With survivor it'd be convenient having it prioritize like, purple flashlights or something too.

Also not relevant and not to be that guy but this is a thread that sorta belongs on the suggestions forum.

  • Not to be that guy but this kind of belongs on the suggestions forum.

  • It has access to auric cells which the observer described as being the building blocks of reality, and the very material which is used to create reality itself. So I'd say pretty powerful…

A crosshair for Huntress would not take the arc into account. It would result in axes hitting the ground before the survivor.

Nurse doesn't require an indicator and if you are planning on learning her it's best that you don't use the addon that provides one.

I believe what they are referring to is the aim assistance addons in general not just a general crosshair. Such as the addon which visually shows Huntress's arc.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

With your title and your explanation it feels like you did not even play when Legion was able to reduce the Deep Wound Timer by stabbing the Survivor multiple times. Which is why it is crazy that you propose it. To give some explanation:

"Originally, the timer NEVER paused under any circumstance aside from when the survivor was mending or being mended."

This is incorrect. The stimer also stopped when being in chase. Which then resulted in moonwalking Legions, where they followed you without looking at you, which meant your timer went down while actively having the Killer being behind you. This means there was an unavoidable Down.

"Additionally, it would always take 30 seconds to mend."

No. Even if the Mending Timer was 30 seconds, it did not take 30 seconds to mend (aka cure the Deep Wound status). I dont know how long it took, but certainly not 30 seconds, this would have been a crazy long time.

"Because of this, Legion was able to down a survivor absurdly quicky, stabbing them once inflicting deep wound, and then again between 10 to 40 seconds later while in frenzy."

This is also wrong. Downing someone with Legion took really long. If it would have been "absurdly quick", they would have been some of the best Killers on Release, but they were one of the weakest Killers. They were 100% guaranteed to down a Survivor, either via Moonwalking or by simply going after them and activating Feral Frenzy when possible, so they either downed them as a 110% Killer (something which got changed btw and which you completely forgot) or after waiting for the Power Gauge to refill two times after the initial Hit (or one time with Franks Mixtape). And since Legion did not even lose their power when missing in Feral Frenzy (something you also did not mention), the skill expression from the Legion Killer was exactly 0 - either they down the Survivor as a M1-Killer or they wait for the Power Gauge to fill up to stab the Survivor, which was basically unavoidable, since there was no penalty for missing. Or they just moonwalked.

And while this was a guaranteed down, it would take ages to down the Survivor. So Legion was basically unstoppable in the 1v1, but lost in the 1v4, since it took too long to kill people.

I dont think anyone can actually want Legion to be able to down in their power again (except for how it currently works), since it was a weak and very frustrating version of the Killer.

I did play back then, I actually started playing during Legion's prime before they got reworked. Been a long time though and my memory sucks ass. I suppose I'm just bias in longing for those days having played Legion primarily back then.

Legion being as horrendously bad as they are now though is a genuine issue though. My intent here was mostly to spark conversation as to how to improve Legion regardless.

  • whenever a survivor presses crouch repeatedly they explode

  • I feel like in some cases it would be kind of distracting or become a crutch to people, but it would be nice to have as a togglable option in the settings at least. Would make Huntress and Springtrap SO much easier to get better at. Unknown too, although I imagine adding something for it would be really buggy.

Shouldn't be a thing on Nurse though considering how buggy it is for her.

  • This feels like its something which should be apart it's Captured By The Dark addon. Like, remove the strange downside of the addon and replace it with that effect. It would suit the whole schtick of the addon making the decoy you leave behind after teleporting seem like its actually you to create more confusion and unpredictability.

  • Depends on what you mean by buffs honestly and what constitutes a rework,

  • The first design is just incredible. Its filmed with tons of small details and symbolism.

  • Shes not ever top 5 why would she need a nerf?

  • It blows my mind that Blight has never ever had a movement speed of 4.4. Everyone and their mother has probably said this already, but it has to be mentioned every time this topic comes up.

  • As a Hag majn it gives me worry. People who don't paly trickster tearing this ptb apart makes me fearful for how the horrendous misunderstandings that could come from a Hag rework.

    1. Legion consists of 4 members, with only Frank's age being described (19). Susie has cosmetics that refer to her as a sophmore, but that's about it.
    2. You could apply this to MANY of the Survivors, including some of the originals. Ace, David, their OWN Survivor Jeff, Jonah, and Haddie would all realistically beat any of the Legion in a one on one fight (provided they were disarmed, the knife CONSIDERABLY increases the Legion's threat level).

Now, for an actual answer. Every Killer has their strength altered by the Entity to FAR beyond superhuman levels. That is the reason someone like the Legion is able to kick pallets apart, bring down professional fighters, kick down walls, pick up and carry around a large and heavyset man like Jeff with one arm, and sling them onto a hook suspended several feet above the ground with the same level of ease as the Oni, an 8+ foot tall massive hulk of pure muscle.

Susie's default cosmetics reference her taking college entrance exams.

Also the description of the sweatshirt itself says she stole it from a lost and found bin or something? I dont really remember. I don't remember if the description always read like tbat or not either, but the implication is that she is 17 or 18.

  • The footstep sounds are just from players though.

That said, there is the detail of the voices you can hear if you walk near the edge if the map. Deffinitely adds to the idea of remnants of people who roamed the forsest.

It was never about Legion's strength or unsuitability for 2V8. Of course I don't have access to BHVR's stats for the mode, but from my own (admittedly anecdotal) evidence, I can see that they actually under perform compared with other Killers.

No, Legion were never strong. Their popularity imbalance between the players on the Killer side who enjoy them and their unpopularity with a large number of vocal haters meant they were always likely to get more complaints than pretty much any other Killer. So people complained and they were removed. It's as simple as that and nothing much at all to do with balance. And it's nothing to do with Legion pushing Survivors away from 2V8 either, since Killer queue times are still exactly as long as they've always been.

I get it, they were a common pick. So I do sympathise with the people who were sick of seeing them in every other trial. I face a rotation of Weskers, Huntresses and Nemis and I'm fairly sick of seeing these guys, too. But there really isn't a lot of choice right now and very few Killers in 2V8 have both a relatively simple power and a low skill floor. 2V8 was a good place for players to dip their toe into the Killer side of things without the extra stress and pressure of having to go it alone. I bet a lot of 2V8 Legions were inexperienced Killers. But now these players have only Trapper or Wraith to choose from, since pretty much every other Killer in 2V8 takes considerable time to master (basically a throw pick for beginners) or costs real money (Ghostie).

I don't see how taking away choices from 2V8 is a healthy direction to be going in but here we are.

Thing with Legion in 2v8 is that an actual duo between a Legion and an Oni or Nurse or something melts lobbies. I used to run Legion + Nurse duos with my brother frequently and it was disgusting. However on the flip side, getting paired with a Legion while playing Trapper or Ghost Face or something? Uuuuuuuuuuugh.

Legion in 2v8 was almost always either dead weight or breaking the trial depending on the pairing. Legion was absolutely EVERYWHERE, and it made some other killers miserable to play sometimes due to the likelihood of getting dropped with Legion. Also miserable for the survivors if the Legion got paired with a different killer like Oni.

I've read most of the tome lores thank you.

Also those are entirely just your own interpretations of those lores, rather than objectively confirmed retcons.

We don't know if Spirit "intentionally gave herself up to the entity to avoid her father getting taken", since we don't know reason why she drops the sword in her dream at the end of her tome story before getting swallowed whole, as it is never explicitly made clear nor even stated why in the story, meaning we're only left with assumptions & speculations to go on as to why she did it.

The images in Jane's tome doesn't confirm that she was taken by The Entity then and there, all we see is that she runs out of the prison with fog coming out of the door, nothing more. It is also much more likely that she only temporarily entered a bleed while in the prison, that was left from when The Entity took either Zarina or Caleb there. Same way the group of friends in the story ''Survivor Statement. Sean Dint.'' from tome 6 temporarily entered a bleed and got attacked by The Oni.

I do not remember which tome talks about the mercenaries from Wraith's tome, but what you're stating doesn't sound like a retcon.

As i said, the base lores are intended to be tied to the base character's lores, with all the multiverse stuff being tied to the npc tomes exclusively.

Yeah youre right. I'm horribly overthinking all this. Oof.
