You know theres a suggestions and feedback forum right?

Pretty sure there was some drama a year or two ago about a ton of popular streamers smurfing or something. I don't remember.

Its comments like these is why we can't have good things. As soon Legion got removed, everyone else with a slightly bad survivor experience in 2v8 started looking for which other killers they should aim their sights at on who else should be taken out. Its not enough survivors are getting the strongest buffs and classes they ever saw in any game mode or modifier, the other side needs to be completely multilated for them to enjoy their part.
Legion was an extreme case though. Got disabled for a very very good reason. Oni being strong isnt the same as Legion melting lobbies.
-
That just sounds like reversing the problem.

I doubt it's a licensing issue. I'd imagine it's just a lot of work to rebalance each killer for 2v8.
Dev quote from last year's anniversary said that QA testers had to run ten instances of the game at once when working on 2v8. I can only imagine how much of a pain in the ass it is working on adding new killers.
-
I like to play Scout and opening all the chests around the map while I find and/or bait killers.
Honestly there should be a class for that. Letting you start equiped with a key.
-
Nemesis has the same base movement speed as almost every other killer though?
-
I had always assumed the memory numbers were tied to the characters themselves, not the archives as a whole.

Its a fascinating idea in the context of Oni's character. Adds so much more depth and irony to his past.
Something I am curious about though is the origin of the Yamaoka curse. Seemed like the curse originated with Oni, but the real Renjiro was described as violent and cruel. If the curse DID exist before, then it would seem its not be tied to the bloodline itself and only the name. More I think about it, the more the very nature of the curse as a whole comes into question to me personally. -
No offense intended but that doesn't sound right to me at all. He works under aliases in order to keep himself from getting caught. It's pretty in line with his whole thing of being very analytical and thoughtful about his murders. He's a sociopath that enjoys messing with people, particularly in the public eye.

They're not individual versions, they are stories tied to the playable versions of the characters. Anything multiverse related is specifically within the NPC tomes only.
Most of the tomes don't really retcon anything either. The only tome i can think of retconning a base lore is Legion, but that's about it.
Also Spirit didn't give herself up to avoid her father getting taken, don't know where you're getting that from, because that's not what happens in her tomes.
Final memory from spirit's story in Tome 20 is what I was referring to. That whole story is the entity corrupting her, but it's manipulating her in a way that makes it seem like she is saving her father from the entity and the blood rage. She dreams of a black serpent devouring her father every night. The serpent is likely a reference to The Black Serpent Society from the Red Crane stories, which is implied to be related to the Black Talon. Final story is her killing her father to "end the cycle" without realizing she is falling into the entity's hands. This recontextualizes and generally changes her backstory a lot.
More blatant example I should have brought up was Jane. In tome 22, the way Jane was taken is completely changed. She was publicly investigating the disappearances of people taken by the entity. In response, the Black Talon she was set up her up by forcing her into doing a story in a location with a bleed, resulting in her getting taken and by extension silenced. Way she got taken is completely different in her bio, having been taken while driving to her fathers amidst an emotional wreck involving a public disaster on her show involving her estranged mother.
Another retroactive change off the top of my head is the story from Wraith's tome. His tome tells the story of his village being massacred by mercenaries working Biafra during the Nigerian Civil War. This was retconned in a later tome, stating that those mercenaries had nothing to do with the civil war and were hired by the Black Talon to seize a bleed that existed within the village's well. Though perhaps that was intended more as a twist than a retroactive change. -
Elesh Norn killer probably. Some power relating to oil.
-
As I Hag main I approve of this and say that it is 100% the definitive way of solving the issue. Must be implemented. :)
-
Theyve sort of done retcons via tomes, but tome stories are technically of individual versions of a character rather than a global thing. Like Spirit intentionally giving herself up to the entity to avoid her father getting taken (which was stupid) was a thing in a tome.
-
Could be in the final design you never know.

So it's a shadow buff then? If the survivor is exposed, will they be insta-downed when it happens?
No that was never a thing. It results in perks which trigger off of special attacks not triggering. More specifically it makes the traps not work with Third Seal anymore. You used to be able to apply the blind from Third Seal onto a survivor if they either got trapped or were injured by Bloody Coils.
-
Something I find interesting how material 1's potential association with Beelzebub thematically. Beelzebub is an Abrahamic demon and demonization other gods worshipped by foreigners. It's associated with stuff like temptation, controlling others, and (obviously) heresy. Might be interesting tying into the lore of the survivor and killer, survivor being a scientist and the killer a divine judgement figure that destroyed the world.
Beelzebub means "lord of the flies" or "god of the flies", and material 1 looks buglike. -
Trapper has been bugged for months now (traps injuring survivors don't count as special attacks anymore) and they haven't done anything about it.

If anything Chaos Shuffle (and 2v8) more exposes how bad most people are at the killer role. People love to bombard survivors with the idea that most are bad but refuse to do the same for killers despite it also being true. The game is designed for survivors to lose more often resulting in killers thinking they are better than they really are.
I've gone out of my way this Chaos Shuffle to play "low tier" killers because I got four Ghouls in a row playing survivor and have been doing just fine, even Trapper and this includes at least one match I let everyone go (sucker for a lute). Trapper isn't strong but he isn't doing nearly as badly as this community makes it sound like he is.https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/LLF01HJC5N3R/7b6e091c8b-5221-40d2-8b0f-436f7e6bc0ac-7d.png

And “good teammates will prevent it” isn’t a strategy. You can’t guarantee coordination, body blocks, or smart trades in solo queue, especially in a random-perk mode.
And half the time this level of altruism just ends up throwing the game for the survivors as the killer downs the blocker and continues after the tunnel out, its free pressure for the killer that often gives them a snowball win on the spot.
I play Trapper quite a lot I know. Trapper is a nightmare to play against good survivors if you don't have the right addons though in most situations and I can attest to this, especially if you get a ######### map.
That aside, I feel its worth pointing out how this Chaos Shuffle uses MMR. If you don't play Trapper much you might be getting worse players. -
If anything Chaos Shuffle more exposes how much a number of killers suffer due to reliance on specific addons and perks. Like how absolutely miserable Trapper is in Chaos Shuffle without access to at least one of his red addons if not just Bloody Coils specifically.
-
We don't need another cute young woman again. She also does not suit the backstory at all. The other three all befit the description of a scientist from a fallen world. Especially the two men. They look like they've experienced a lot and have much to tell.
Also a side note but if you wanna compare black man to Adam then the old woman is grandma Kate. -
These aren't all individual existing characters, they're potential designs that could be used for the final singular survivor.
-
Survivors having as much info as they do in a full voice chat party is absurd and not something the game can really account for well in terms of balancing. Giving every survivor the same ammount of information is a recipe for disaster.
Imagine if survivors at base always revealed the killer's aura to other survivor but just looking at the killer like the scout class does in 2v8. Sounds miserable right?

@Anti051 said:
The killer's purpose is to kill.
The game is all about whether the survivors escape with their lives or the killer takes them.
There are 4 survivors, so there are 4 possible points for either side to score via kill or escape. First side to three points wins. It isn't unhealthy, strange or complicated, it's just what the game is. You're supposed to look for fun in overcoming the challenge.
A killer who didn't get a kill and a football player who didn't score a touchdown are upset for the same reason.
The end results screen as killer is presented in the same way as a surviving survivor if you killed at least one person with different labels for different ammounts of kills. The intention is a measurement of how well you did not whether or not you killed everyone. All the individual survivor's ultimate goals are is to escape. From their perspective, they are just trying to survive and working togather grants the best means of survival. Survivors dont get notified they "lost" if only one person escapes through the hatch.
That asside, did not mean to imply kills do not matter. I am just saying hook state counts feel very undervalued and that this causes issues.
-
@scoser said:
It's because you could double hook all 4 survivors but they all escape and they'll still spam "GGEZ BABY KILLER" in post-game chat after teabagging at the gate. They'll almost never say "good game, that was close" in that same 8 hook scenario.
Those situations are moreso extremely funny though

So it better to have a generic benefit that let's say 60% of killers can use than help each killer especially the low tiers ?
That should come with buffing the killers independly not some global mechanic.
-
Consistency perhaps? Feels like it would only add more factors to worry about for killer balancing too.

I AM THE 1%

Honestly her buggy facial animations aren't any different from other cosmetics like Cybil's. Facial animations are kind of just bad to differing extremes.
-
You know you can like, search the bug report forum for posts right?

I hate the dissonance between how its described in the lore and how it is depicted in game. In lore its this big dark landscape between all other realms, where all the various old ones and horrors simply reside or spend time creating their own realms and where people's thoughts directly influence the reality in front of them. Its a cool concept that could be implemented in cool ways but instead he just have this lame little Halloween thing.
-
I wrote this big ass comment but my power went out twice while doing it. Is this a sign of something?
-
idk, trolling to avoid trolling I guess? It does come off as a pointless change honestly, at least without context.
-
They should have left the tier 3 mode as is without the stupid changes and slaughtering strike should have been an addon. Slaughtering Strike replacing tier 3 was an extremely stupid idea but I genuinely think Slaughtering Strike would have worked as apart of some sort of counterpart red addon to the now red Scratched Mirror. Like, an addon which alter his playstyle to incentivize aggression and buff up his pursuer mode or something. Honestly I really don't understand why they didn't go the route expanding off of his original versatility. The mode switching is a great idea and would have also allowed for them to expand expanding on his versatility. As is the mode switch doesn't even do that itself.
There wasn't any reason to change his tier 3 at all either, and making him only be able to stalk survivors by standing in their face effectively just makes his power a ######### version of Ghost Face's on top of actively pulling away from the entire appeal and flavor of playing Myers in the first place; just standing there menacingly staring the survivors down or around a corner as the survivors approach or suddenly bursting into a terrifying pursuit out of nowhere.
Also on a broader note, the Myers rework is bizarre to me in how whatever team worked on it appears to have obsessed way too much over "balancing" his power to the point of overkilling most of it. Like what was the point of the weapon wipe when tier 3 mode initiates? To balance it out so he can't just down people? You already have to stalk people to charge it up and THEN wait for Slaughtering Strike's windup (which also slows your movement speed) Before getting any value out of the power. Why is the vault speed boost while in pursuer mode so low that it is literally imperceivable, hell most benefits of pursuer mode basically existent in general. There is much in the way of doing anything of getting any value out of his power that it might as well not exist unless you play the funny 4.4 Scratched Mirror build. He is effectively just Pig but is gigantic, doesn't crouch down, has no beartraps, and with no sneak attack only normal m1. -
Honestly this is more of an issue with the void mechanic itself. Survivors are reluctant to enter the void cause its dangerous and they would rather be doing generators, but killers are also reluctant to do it cause its potentially just a complete waste of time you could be spending on pressure. Like not even competitively just like, instinctually in people.

I main Hag
because I am a very sad person and have severe ADHD.
Hag gameplay itself is absurdly difficult to explain and elaborate on due to her extreme macro so this is gonna be really ######### hard but Ima try.
In summary I really enjoy her playstyle of creating a figurative spiderweb to bait and ensnare survivors into; their situation growing worse as one gets caught after another. She also combines gameplay aspects of a bunch of killers I enjoy, requires A TON of macro.
To try and put her power into perspective mechanically, imagine if The Unknown's ability to teleport ability came in the form of ten modeless and auraless Trapper traps on the ground which upon a survivor entering roughly 3 meters of instantly spawns an illusion for six seconds and starts the killer's chase music up on whoever triggered it for as long as the illusion is there. You also have no movement penalty out of a teleport, can attack immediately out of a teleport, have zero cooldown between teleports, and the survivor's camera is instantly spun around to face to illusion so they run into it (unless they flick -__-), and your own camera is facing the survivor who triggered it after you teleport. You also have an addon which removes any sign that the illusion spawned at all so you can just APPEAR in front of people when teleporting. You can turn an area into a minefield of these surprise illusion and drop them during chase like beartraps, but they're deposable and you never ever need to pick them up before placing new ones so you can just throw them done wherever and whenever, and the traps have an AOE trigger so you don't have to worry about survivors running around them.
There all sorts of stuff you can do with traps too like trapping pallets so you can just pick survivors up off of them when they try to fast vault them mid chase. You can do ######### like mindgame and just not teleport at all after the trap is triggered so if they flick away or vault backwards to avoid it they just get hit anyway. I don't think much rivals the joy I get out of stupid survivors who wandered back into my web to their syringe medkit I franklinsed only to get smacked and hooked for it.
She's also a massive goober and I think it is funny :] -
Listening to music in an audio heavy game is certainly a decision.
-
Honestly twitch drop only cosmetics are strange to me more because of how Behavior made all those limited time in-game event cosmetics free for everyone by default for the sake of availability.
-
It is pretty unanimously agreed upon that he is solidly B tier though. Not too strong and not too weak.
-
Huge part of the tapes though is themes and flavor. Adding more music addons would take away from that.
-
I thought they said they werent going to add it?

The trap is far away from the snap point.
That should be fixed.
Oh I misunderstood
-
Ok but what happens when they don't do that?
-
Its just a clever floor clip trap location. It's better not having these removed honestly cause it adds a lot of to Trapper's gameplay knowledge.
-
The Twins have a reputation for being really solid and powerful killers despite being so underplayed.
I think a lot of it is just most players being drawn to the base visual designs and relatively uncomplicated powers of other killers. Sorta like the issue with Hag. -
A reduced time is fair. The problem with the perk is that the endurance extension is ridiculously long resulting in killers suffering from it even if they aren't tunneling sometimes, or it being used offensively similar to DS. Probably why they tried removing the Endurance in the first place.
-
Krasue is understandable but DCing immediately when downed against Myers is so ######### funny.
-
If you enjoy Dredge and Unknown then I would highly suggest trying out Hag. Think of her as essentially having The Unknown's teleport but can immediately place down up to ten illusions whenever she wants and teleport without any cooldown at all at the cost of the survivors having to be within three meters of it. The survivors also have their camera instantly spin around to face the fake Hag spawned by the trap when triggered causing them to actually run straight into you if you teleport and they are just holding W. The fake Hags from trap triggers also stick around for a few seconds to you can sometimes wait on teleporting to them so you can hit survivors around a loop like with The Dredge's remnants, or not teleport after the survivor you are chasing triggers a trap so when they they try to vault a pallet or flick around to run the other way they move straight into you to and get smacked. She also has a red addon which completely changes her playstyle, letting her teleport to any trap on the map with no range limit or need for a survivor to trigger it at the cost of now having a ten second cooldown on teleports.
(edit: adjusted some wording) -
As a mobility thing for a killer maybe? I guess? That's all I can think of for how it might work and that seems like a recipe for a mobility disaster.
-
The flavor text of her bloody prestige cosmetics seem to imply that she just doesn't care about what she drank the saliva for to begin with and primarily cares about murder and satiating the hunger.
Even if she still technically independent on a literal level, she is really just an extension of the Krasue with no real will of her own. Nothing matters besides satiating the hunger. The Krasue is not just a parasite but something eventually completely absorbs as apart of itself her even if she is still conscious. That's my interpretation anyway.
