Please rework his face! Richter belmont deserves better than this.

If its a post with a topic that would be beneficial to killers in any way it'll get downvoted into oblivion, nothing new there.

Idk hyperfocus gets used a fair bit. If you're good at great skill checks it can really give you a bump, synergises well with fogwise too
You dont even have to be good at great skill checks because stake out exists.

’it’s a team issue’
And I guess we are just supposed to let soloq suffer? There is not really reliable anti-slug builds for soloq survivors, and you shouldnt just determine your entire Build around one possible Killer playstyle which results out of bad game design to begin with.
Base-kit anti-slug can work, just not the way it has been proposed before. Similar thing happened for anti-camp and now we do have a base mechanic that doesnt get abused after all..Yes, its a survivor team problem if you are letting the killer slug you all, doesn't matter if its solo q or not, It's player skill and game sense. It may shock you but there are plenty of good solo q players. It falls on everyone not just one person to counter play. The killer should have to be a huge amount better than you all to reliably pull it off, which feeds back into the average survivor skill level. Once again the fact there are good survivors who don't see this as an issue is ignored to push the solo q narrative. Solo Q isnt mechanically different, solo q problems are player problems.
You don't even need a whole build, which is excessive, even just unbreakable to prevent the slug snowballing is insanely strong so you can recover, destroy the killers pressure and get a second chance. The amount of times a single person with unbreakable has turned an entire match around is insane, but you all downplay the tools you have as don't want to adjust your builds or because you want the game to play itself for you. You aren't supposed to just flat out invalidate everything a killer can do, thats not how an asym game works.
Basekit anti-slug is not needed, period. You can already just abandon the match when its deemed "problematic" and unrecoverable (2% of total games btw!!). We don't have anti-camp, we have anti face camp, they are not the same thing and that actually was a legitimate problem that had to be sorted.

Then, why are you defending this playstyle, or blaming it on the devs? It is 100% a PLAYER-created problem.
Are you actively doing it in your matches, because it is easy and convenient? Which is the same kind of mentality certain killer mains had about hard tunneling when that was brought up.It's not the survivors' fault that the killer player decides to omit the intended way of playing.
Except its not a "problem", don't present opinion as fact. And the devs are very much to blame for any condition of the game in which players feel they are heavily encouraged or forced to do certain things because other ways are objectively worse or detrimental.
No im not actively doing it in my matches, because im not playing against potatoes most of the time and i'll likely get punished for it. At best I can risk a brief tactical slug. Slugging stops being "easy and convenient" as you so put it when survivors are capable of playing around it. Unlike hooking, slugging carries the risk factor of you losing all your pressure from it and you have no game progression for the time spent. This obviously isn't that effective unless survivors are bad at dealing with it.
Your survivor rulebook garbage means nothing FYI. There wouldn't be mechanics for it if it wasnt intended.
-
It's really, really not. But the devs are certainly encouraging it with the way things are and have been going. Apart from one game last night the last time i had a 4 man slug game was last anniversary when a ghostface slugged us in midwich.
If you dont want to be slugged then bring anti-slug perks and adapt how you play when its being done. We've been through this before, basekit anti-slug is a god awful thing for the game and it's not needed at all. If all four survivors managed to get themselves slugged without it being a very close game then that's a team issue as you aren't playing to counter it.

Personally, I think it is fine that turrets can be placed so close together.
Xeno's crawler mode is extremely oppressive in chase. The survivors line of defense against it has to be very powerful and effective because otherwise he will down them way too quickly.
The more effective a killer is in chase, the more powerful the conterplay against them has to be.
The tail was nerfed to be more reactable, frankly turrets should have been nerfed with it, there's also stronger powers that don't have ways to force the killer to lose it. Xenomorph is not strong enough to warrant how strong turrets are. They should at best be chase extenders allowing you to make it to the next loop and make distance, not chase enders. The counterplay isn't fair or fun to deal with at all when stacked and that's why the killer isn't played much.

Who said anything about losing rewards? I suggested a system that simply attempted to match you against people you haven't told it to avoid before falling back to including those players if it looks like it'll affect someone's queue times. Is there a reason you feel like you NEED to be matched against people who don't want to play with you?
Me and half the comment you responded too? Why comment to then try and shift the discussion to something that isnt anything to do with what i was saying? Who said anything about forcing people to play with me? Why are you just making up random arguments now? Is there a reason you feel like you NEED to insinuate something personal against me? Are you that desperate to justifty this irrelevent point you're making?
If you can't stick to the topic of discussion in the comment you respond to then just don't respond to it. What could actually do with an avoid feature is the forums it seems.

On the flip side, do you really think people are going to be giving likes to killers when they win?
Honestly, I already kind of do this anyway. If the killer has been playing in a way I perceive as unnecessarily steamrolly or jerkishly then I abandon the moment I get the prompt as an option and they can rub salt in a bot's wounds if it's that important to them. Otherwise I stick around for the mori. Upvotes would just codify that sentiment.
I used to use the 'Did you have fun this match?' system as well and my ratings didn't have anything to do with whether I won the match or not.
Then you're the 1%. Even then you're proving my point saying you deem something "unfair" and just bail and leave. Because survivors in general expect killers to conform to their ideals of how a game should go while they play however they want. Because of this killers will never be given a fair use of the system due to bias.
It's just an example of why "endorsement systems" will never work in this game. The playerbase at large will never use it fairly or objectively, that much should be obvious to anyone. Why should killers have to play to make survivors happy to not lose rewards in a PvP game? Are survivors gonna let killers win as well? Lol no they wont.

Hm, I mean I get why anything with punishments would be abused but that’s why I feel thumbs up certainly can’t be? If someone doesn’t enjoy that person then they just don’t give a thumbs up? If you get extra BP or cells it’s just a bonus?
Are you saying that if some people get rewards because other players liked playing with them that it wouldn’t be good? I don’t see how rewarding other players by players could be a bad thing.

If people didn't like playing with you, then you just wouldn't get anything. You'd be exactly where you are now. Not sure how you can be hateful with what's basically an upvote, especially if theres no downvote version. Positive reinforcement is a tried and true method for good behavior.
You think its fair to tie tangable rewards to others bias, flawed and arbitary opinions? I don't.
Let's be real, this will just be survivors abusing it to farm each other for passive bonus rewards unless they are trolling. A completely pointless system to have that serves zero actual purpose. Even then you'll get people denying likes for the most petty, pathetic and dumb things because something happened that didnt benefit them.
On the flip side, do you really think people are going to be giving likes to killers when they win? Especially if they have to play "unfair" in the survivors eyes to stop themselves losing? Or when they take advantage of bad survivor plays? Even if thats a totally fair and correct thing to do in a PvP game? Or if they play a killer people dislike for whatever random BS reason? Because they dont follow the "survivor rulebook"? There's atleast one survivors raging in endgame chat every game for no reason except ego.
There is a ton of reasons why letting other people decide what you get is an awful idea, not least of all because a system like this obviously benefits survivors infinitely more than killers who will never get a fair or equal opportunity to benefit.
-

I can definitely see how it would be abused even though I do agree that some kind of system similar would be cool. Personally I think using the thumbs up rating, and it resulting in some kind of actual in-game accomplishment would be great, and would not be abused. Rewards like extra BP, Cells, Banners, even exclusive cosmetics that are tied to rewards given to you by other players. It would encourage more people to think of some of the positives in the match rather than just the negatives and reward players for being great teammates or opponents. BHVR has the thumbs up data, just hasn’t used it yet.
Rewards like extra BP, Cells, Banners, even exclusive cosmetics that are tied to rewards given to you by other players.
Nah thats an awful idea tying rewards to strangers opinions of you, especially with how irrational, misinformed, bias, hateful and salty this playerbase is.

The killer objective isn't about getting hooks, it's about stopping the survivors from escaping. Not creating pressure is a great way to lose as the killer and you create more pressure from getting multiple knocks than you get from mindlessly going for hooks, plus there is a lot of highly abusable bullshit that activates from hooking making it one of the least attractive avenues to victory you can take.
Yep its obvious to even any half decent and non bias player why its encouraged with all the hooking effects that can come into play that are more of a detriment to killers. Or why slugging is a risky but good tool for killers to apply pressure that can backfire on them. But as usual people don't want to see the bigger picture, they just want the game to auto play itself for them so they don't have to learn and improve.
Also I rarely see much slugging, its common sense short tactical slugging at worst, its such a none issue. If people don't like being slugged, bring the counter perks, that's why they exist.

Counterpoint.
The reason for how powerful Exhaustion perks feel, is Vigil.
Vigil is overtuned. That simple. Nerf it, and you effectively nerfed all Exhaustion perks in one fell swoop.
Yep, the perks are balanced on their timers, and reducing that increases their value massively more that they should give because its not just this one interaction, its all four survivors efficiency its buffing by wasting the killers time.
Exhaustion reduction is a huge balance issue. These perks should have individual timers based on expected value out of them and no way to manipulate it. Or they have to be balanced with reduction in mind. Vigil just needs to go, its a major unhealthy perk.

I'm thinking more of the actual effect, not the Exhaustion timers.
So, hypothetically, Sprint Burst/Lithe getting a smaller Haste bonus/shorter duration, and/or Balanced Landing/Smash Hit having higher bonus/longer time.
Whichever way around you'd resolve the difference, what I'm examining here is whether these perks should all give you approximately the same distance by design.
I think that just complicates the perk balancing and makes it even harder to adjust after the fact tbh. Maybe duration, but keep the haste the same so people arent thrown off by the differing speeds.
-
Yes, easier and less conditional perks like sprint burst and lithe should have longer exhaustion timers, make harder to use ones more rewarding. Remove exhaustion reduction effects because you can't balance these perks with reduced timers unless you balance it for it existing so you'd have to double nerf the recovery timer.

So you feel it is ok to have an advantage by calling out perks, locations, builds etc.. but the killer gets nothing? Seems a bit biased.Killers get a target of a 60% KR.
Which averages out to 2.4 kills so leaning towards regular draws rather than a win. But matches snowball regularly due to a huge amount of RNG and variables, so it doesnt mean much of anything. It statistically is the number to target for balancing an asym game. The 60% KR doesnt even mean what you're implying here either, because you can have a 60% KR and have a 20% win rate at the same time. KR DOES NOT = WIN RATE. You all really needs to stop using it as an argument because it really isnt one. It being targetted lower would statistically mean killers should lose more than win…. in an asymetrical game…. you can see the problem there. Or maybe you can't or don't want too.
The only real reason the game is still functional as it is now for the most part is because your average survivor is awful at the game and keeps the average KR up for like 80% of the killer roster and killer in general.

After all, why spend the time and effort to talk with other people about a subject, try and understand their perspective and compromise/strive to reach a balanced perspective; maybe even accept some unpleasant truths, when you can much more easily just down vote regardless of context and move on? Especially when your own comment can also be ratio'd in turn… who needs that noise?
The Internet doesn't have time for nuance and individual throught, there is glorious content to consume. I was going to say something about since he can't directly down with the m2 attack, hed have the faster movement speed relying on m1 hits for downs. But then i thought of stuff like blight/demogorgon/hag/singularity etc and got rather confused as to how they decide on a killer's speed, like why is hag slower while trapper is faster etc (maybe because he has to pickup his traps and hag doesnt). Ghoul just stands out because not only can he just leap behind you very quickly, he also moves as fast as possible after landing so that he usually hits you before you reach something if you haven't alredy, but without that speed would he be able to get half the downs he does alredy?
Consider if legion was a slow as huntress for example, he has similar mobility and free injury but can't directly down with the power in a 1 on 1 chase. If he was slowed down to huntress speed where he could be looped around a rock for half a generator, than he'd be way too easy to counter. And kaneki notorious for catching up with people holding W but cannot down with his power, and has a minimum range to use his leaps, so he excells in the open, but gets looped in tight spaces, making him slower would make him very easy to loop in tight spaces with no power besides vaulting and slow speed.
Yeah he'd be awful where he is currently weakest as a 4.4 m1 killer, but awful players just want to shift-w for brainless easy chases and hate anything that counters that and want it gutted. They'd hate his power being able to down more though lol, which it would have to as 4.4.
He's the easiest strong killer to actually loop, even easier now you can brainlessly re-vault a pallet because its easier, but its obvious people don't want to actually learn how to play properly, just run from pallet to pallet to pallet and think they are good at the game.
Now that they nerfed blight and gave survivors an inch they are going to double down and try and take a mile. It's always the way, its never enough..

Give him killer specific lockers like other killers have their props that spawn near gens, xeno tunnels, springtrap doors etc so he is guaranteed somewhat consistent power usage and map coverage. This alone makes him way more playable.

They want him gutted like skull merchant so they don't have to play against him ever, its been obvious for awhile.

With limited servers you cant have it too low, at most 150 ping should be the limit, thats already awful though and extremely generous, i'd want lower myself.. There's absolutely no reasons to accept above that.

Either you all played really badly, or they are just that much better than you all, its nothing to do with the killer in this scenario its all about the players. You have literally every advantage against a killer with no build.
Also this is probably bait anyway.
-
It's still trying to force me to play something i dont want to play as much while making me wait longer for what i do so im still going to not be touching the game while this garbage event is active. Better ways to spend 3 week than in this slop
-
Nerfing regression like that is such a vastly stronger nerf to killer than survivor that its simply moronic as they have limited and conditional uses in addition to a total damage limit on gens unlike survivor healing and repair actions. They have to make way more accomodating changes to killer to make it fair again if thats how it will work.
-
Instant uninstall if that happens. The game is already ruined while its temporarily active, it can die for all i care if thats all the time, and it would deserve too.
I took this as its active in 1v4 while 2v8 is active to help with queues there that are also garbage for those who dont want to play 2v8. I certainly dont want it potentially inflating killer queues permanently, forcing me to play survivor if i dont feel like it. It's an easy choice to ditch the game at that point.
-
@TamaraLatte said:
I don't think they could do enough nerfs that would satisfy the community. A lot of people see Ghoul as the new Skull Merchant. It's sometimes hard to even try to play against him in solo queue, cause you know, no matter what you do, people are gonna afk or run straight up to the killer to end the boring matches early.
Yeah the irrationally angry vocal portion of the community just want killers they dont like butchered so they dont have to deal with them by making them near unplayable. None of this is actually about balance, its about wanting easy games. People still DC against skull merchant, and shes virtually a powerless m1 killer, which says it all really.

They're outside the scope of what the new system is designed for.
If the system can't account for it, it's a bad system. It shouldn't be that this system, which is supposed to deal with stacking perks across the board, just so happens to only affect survivor perks, just because these survivor perks have more simplified and consistent design.
There'd be outrage if, following the system, Botany got changed to 'gives one extra charge whenever you heal for two charges', subsequently making it exempt from the system because 'well technically it's not an action speed buff!'.
If it's that rickety and arbitrary, there's no point in even trying it.
If the system can't account for it, it's a bad system.
No? Because it's not supposed to because it's for action speed modifiers, its a system intended for that specific purpose because that is a specific potential problem. By your logic every system ever created is a bad system because it doesnt do everything lmfao. What awful logic is this?
Killer gen perks already have double limits on them, they either have limited uses and kill themselves/can be removed (hexes) AND there's the gen damage event limit that also affects killer basekit. The fact you think they need yet another limit is actually so far beyond bias its actual insanity. Killer gen perks are individual damage events that all count towards a limit the killer can do total, not just via perks and they arent stacking for effect boosts like gen speed, healing and haste does, they arent even remotely comparable to action speed perks, and especially not comparable to infinitely usable survivor actions like healing or repair. Unless you want to place an action limit on those too. You can easily wait out or work around gen blocking, that again has limited and conditional uses, adding another limit to that is an awful idea.

Simple fix is just remove lobby. You queue, you find a group you go into a game instantly. The whole ready up process is already a waste of time.
Don't get me wrong i have lobby dodged in the past top reason having 4 survivors all having similar name and outfit which is clearly a swf running with some sort of plan. Not saying i don't like going against swfs i actually prefer it but something about all 4 having the same outfit and similar names just doesn't sit right with me and i associate it with bully squad so i don't take the risk.https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4068548#Comment_4068548
There is always a way to leave a lobby. simply closing the game will do it.
Now im a killer main so i get where your coming from with killer able to change their build based on what survivors are bringing but this is unfair on survivors as they can't see who they are going against and change thier build accordingly. Not sure why anyone likes the lobby as its just a time waste. nothing worse than having a long queue time followed by sitting there waiting because players don't ready up quickly. Going straight from queue to offering screen would be so much better as it would mean faster games and everyone is on a fair playing field in terms of advanced knowledge.
For those saying Check hours in lobby whats the point? Hours mean nothing in DBD. Take my playtime for example. 1289.1 hours at time of this comment yet only about 100 of them are as survivor and about 500 - 600 as killer. The rest is just lobby and queue. Its why you will come up against a 10k hour lobby and you can still beat them because most of the time you can take "playtime" and half it for true in game hours as the rest is just filler.this is unfair on survivors as they can't see who they are going against and change thier build accordingly
A killer has literally nothing to adjust for survivor unless we can see their perks, items are virtually irrelevant. We're bringing slowdown anyway because we have too (toolboxes), anti heal is utter trash (medkits) even if it wasnt its not worth the slots, and frankly wasting a valuable perk slot on lightborn is silly (flashlights). There is simply nothing worth adjusting in killer builds.
Having FOUR SURVIVORS (likely 2+ in comms) adjust their entire loadouts based on killer (of which they have many options) is SIGNIFICANTLY stronger by such a huge amount that it would be game breaking and invalidate some killers entirely. You'd never bring medkits against legion or plague for example, you'd just bring toolboxes and gen perks, that just guarantees the game is harder for weaker or specific killers where their powers take advantage of inefficient survivor item usage. It would be yet another reason to just only play blight, nurse, ghoul etc. It is not even remotely "unfair" to survivors when counter picking would be tilted so much in favour to them while benefitting killer very little.

as a literal pvper for years this is a horrible idea. Instead maybe instead of punishing the leavers perhaps find out why BOTH sides are leaving the game? I don't mean the broad reasons either I mean the EXACT reasons. Punishing people is just going to encourage uninstalls without fixing any issues on it. If its happening every now and then there isn't a major problem, but almost all the time or more common there is definitely an issue.
but almost all the time or more common there is definitely an issue.
The issue is player mentality, and its not a problem any dev can solve, only punish. But people would rather gaslight and project onto others than admit that. 90% of the DCs you'll see are just petty rage quitting for no real reason. Getting found first and downed fast, hate the map, dont want to play against that killer, screwed by rng or ping, etc etc.
It's a problem because the leniency allows it to be and there is little enforcement. It's not like there is any real detriment to leaving. You lose nothing, atleast in something like say Overwatch you get suspended or banned for the season or deranked or something meaningful if done repeatedly.

Lethal and BBQ are not problems at all. You currently even can counter BBQ totally by running Self-Preservation as it now gives you Elusive when survivor is hooked so your aura is not shown to the killer. My opinion has always been that Nowhere to Hide should work like Wiretap and only reveal auras around the gen for a its duration not be "I walk half a map and see survivors who had nothing to do with the gen too" as it currently operates.
Self-preservation is gonna be the next distortion. These perks are not healthy for the game, why can't BHVR understand this.

I'd much prefer people DC and leave a bot but there's penalties for that, and people keep asking for more penalties, so players will AFK or suicide out instead. It happens everytime i play killer and I just ignore them. They'll usually reengage at some point when they realize I'm not sending them back to the lobby.
Increase penalties and at the same time actually take action against reports of unsportsman-like behavior and throwing and these people either play or get banned. It works and makes better game communities when problematic people are removed properly, but nothing is enforced in this game.
It should be clear by now BHVR need to take serious action against the people that refuse to play the game and throw. But again this is BHVR…

You aren't going to change these people's mentalities, they are like this and that isnt going to change, its not a problem anyone can fix. If they refuse to play the game (and ruin it for others) they should be harshly punished for it and eventually just outright banned. We don't want these people infesting the game and the only thing that will make any difference is severe action against them.

This is not to say "Tunneling bad ):<", same way I don't (At least I don't mean to) say "Gen rush bad ):<".
Tunneling isn't just specifically "Go after one person until they die"
That is LITERALLY the definition… the ONLY definition, its derived from being "tunnel-visioned" on one survivor. Any other definition is not tunnelling, everyone keeps adding to and warping the definition to suit their arguements and justifications which is why talking about it is fruitless and pointless. If you are hooking or intending to hook anyone else you are by definition not tunnelling.
Hooking someone, then hooking someone else, then tunneling out the previous hooked survivor is also tunneling.
It is not. It is just efficient chasing and hook management. Because spreading hooks between four survivors isnt viable.

Genuinely why even comment then?
Because i agree there's a double standard with the way killer is treated compared to survivor, by both BHVR and the community? I glanced over your points but im not writing an essay in response. It's not like the topic is new… A mindless upvote doesnt mean anything.

Im not reading all that but there is undeniably a double standard.

No, no we don't. It's like you all want killers to double down on all the things you supposedly dont like. Killer chase perks aren't allowed to be good, Hex perks are ass, Elusive everywhere kills aura, so what do you think killers are going to do? Keep stacking slowdowns because theres nothing left that's reliable to use.
Stripping killer information results in more camping, tunnelling and slugging because there is no time to waste looking for survivors anymore with gens flying and all the second chances so you have to force more efficiency. Aura's actually promote chasing other survivors.
Do you all just not realise that limiting killers options isnt what you want to do?
Are we going to turbo buff killer perks to counter this? (lol no BHVR wont) More screaming, more expose, more hinder, more broken, denying windows/pallets, denying second chance perks etc etc etc. Killer will have to become far far more lethal with extended timers on everything (delete vigil too) to make other perks worth using with the direction you want to go. And thats without considering nerfing other survivor stuff to compensate. (If you can hide easily then chase/exhaustion perks have to be nerfed hard)
Starting a power creep perk arms race isnt going to be good for the game whatsoever.

Why just killer? Show everyones
