I don't think that's a controversial take; I think that's why you aren't winning as many matches as you would like.

I win a lot of my matches. I am just not having fun because much of the roster is pigeon holed into playing in a very specific way without making even a single mistake or they lose its exhausting. Meanwhile on survivor you don't have to try really. I think that's a bit of a problem. The role that people come to the game for doesn't feel fun even when you win because of how stressful it is.

Yea killer is so weak survivors have instant queues on every server

Two things can be true my guy. Killer feels awful to play and it's a lot of people's preferred role. I'd like to see it feel better see the survivor skill floor raised.

That's wrong but even if you were right that would sound fair to me. Average of 2 kills is pretty balanced. But unfortunately the current balance is closer to 3k will makes survivor insufferable. Have you ever watched a good killer main? They never lose. I don't think that is balanced

That's a skill diff on the survivor end tbh if the average survivor mains weren't complete dog water they would not need the extra wank. Take WoO it's a training wheels perk to learn lay outs. If players were actually learning they'd take the perk off no? Controversial take I know but bad players shouldn't be able to win it is why I was always on board with blight nerfs byw

  • @mecca said:

So, a killer is supposed to win 100% of the time? We're almost there like it is.

Nah most killers even the strongest ones are sitting around 54% which means it averages out to 2 kills per match which is logged as a loss in mmr so there's that. I just wanna see bugs fixed and survivor power toned down and the number of pallets toned down 15 to 20 is a bit excessive you have to admit

  • But my main gripe is bugs that are beneficial to survivors or hinder the killer stay with no signs that it'll be removed but, the day footage pops up of a bug that causes something beneficial for a specific killer they get kill switched. Wesker wasn't available for most of 2 v 8 because of it. All I'm saying is BHVR needs to prioritize bug fixes more

…Sorry? What does what I said have to do with Fast Track…?

I might be misunderstanding but I'm talking about killer strength overall here.

And I was talking about the whole don't worry it won't make it to live attitude isn't reassuring. Also my post mentioned killer bugs some people can't play as or against doctor because of his bug and hound master isn't as strong as she should be due to fact that snug still up and vanishes

  • @jesterkind said:

To be fair, mentioning Sadako is putting your thumb on the scale a little. She may be weak - though for the record I've been learning her and I think she's not COMPLETELY incapable of performing - but she's also one of the four actively weak killers in the game.

There's a big difference between "only some killers CAN compete" and "only some killers CAN'T compete", and DBD is way closer to the latter. Sure, you'll struggle a lot if you play D tiers like Trapper, Skull Merchant, and arguably Sadako + Ghostface depending on how strict you're being, but if you just move up to mid tiers like Wraith, Clown, Demogorgon, and Legion you'll have a much smoother time.
I firmly believe that the vast majority of killers can compete, and the main distinction between top-but-not-S-tiers like Wesker or Nemesis or especially Ghoul and respectable B tiers like the above is just how easy and how straightforward their gameplans are. Not to say that's a bad thing, necessarily, but I think some people get almost tricked into thinking some killers are weaker than they are because the straightforward gameplan that works with strong chase killers isn't how you'd go about playing them.

I won't touch on the PTB perk stuff because none of that has actually happened yet, we're still in the "give feedback and wait" phase, but other than that the game really isn't in as bad a spot as you're claiming, I don't think.

Y'all said that with fast track and it went to live as is and took 2 months to rectify meanwhile the Wesker bug got him kill switched immediately. Also BHVR not touching KNOWN bugs one of which can cause seizures isn't a good look chief

  • @Galafure said:

To not make this them vs them, but there are playstyles that are beyond boring, unfun and not worth dealing with for both sides. And it is on BHVR to make it better ultimately, as we both know. If the devs refuse to do so, how are people paying for the game responsible? The things that I have hated in other games are addressed. This game is the first that I have ever seen where the sides are so divided. To fix one the other has to suffer. And neither side ever feels its fair, myself included, I know this game is one sided. Devs have to fix it or this conversations could continue for another x years

Part of it is because the asymmetrical nature of the game and bhvr's refusal to give solo players like myself an ability to communicate even if you're solo part of why balance is so hard is because a solo player and a swf are kinda playing two different games ya know. This is one of the only games I can think of where the team role doesn't have a ping system of sorts for the solo players. Not to mention the strength gap of killers Billy, Blight, Kaneki and Nurse are super strong so I get why the perks have to be kinda strong but it makes dealing with the same stuff as Pig for example is frustrating ya know. Like legitimately the amount of pallets feels fine when playing Kaneki save for the game but that's just that map in general it kinda sucks lol. But, again on a killer that doesn't have chase power like Hag it feels like Brutal strength, spirit fury enduring feel kinda mandatory ya know.

In my experience, problem becomes I have comcast, but have suffered internet issues due to that companies don't care. So I should be punished more severely because my internet is acting up and I'm just trying to play with friends? I'm curious to know the number of legit dc's due to player input as per things beyond their control. The internet to this day is not consistent for many. Just throwing that out there. Not the end all answer. But I have seen it and so just saying.

I mean most pvp games have an option to rejoin a match that you got disconnected from due to connection issues as long as you try to get back in while that match is still active so a system where you can retake the place of the bot would be good for those edge cases. Other than that people need to relearn the etiquette of playing an online multiplayer game where you play your matches out even if you're losing.

Beyond truthfully, I don't think that, the other "four people" is valid. So many, I'll say people, want easy wins. There is a specific killer that I have never seen take the hard path. But it is a video game. People deserve to enjoy what they spent money on. What do you propose? Out of curiosity.

I mean I generally wind up killing any bots and letting the rest out because botting out against Pig is a little ridiculous.

I think an exponential increase penalty system would probably be for the best and deter habitual dc'ers first is 5 minutes, next is 25, next is an hour, next is 2 hours, beyond that it'll add on days. BHVR needs to combat this issue somehow ya know.

Sorry. I misunderstood I guess. But no matter the punishment, people have paid their hard earned money for this game, dlc and cosmetics. Where is the line on what they find fun for their money and the devs requirements?

I just don't think it's fair that, the person who ruined the game for the four other people in the match can just queue up again in seconds and potentially ruin someone else's match ya know.

Watch "Pro streamers" survivors. It is very often that you watch a stream and the majority of what you see is a few good chases, but a 4k. I played with a well known streamer once and thought that it was going to be an easy win. We got 4k'd. I watch the vod and it was just them on a gen talking to chat. Not a negative. But it shows where things are for that side. You will find bully squads, I do not believe they are that common. Truthfully, I think in 2026 ego's are so fragile that every loss had to have been against a bully squad. They exist, I'm just saying that I think it's misconstrued. And spoiler alert, not you, but saying in general, 4 beamers usually means 4 people who are going to do stupid things. as far as the BHVR comment, if you look at the forums, they are getting paid, THATS what matters. last year, it was fix x and y at the end…….lets do nothing. as long as they are getting paid, all you can do is play or not play. sadly.

Like I said a flashlight squad isn't a bad thing, sabo squads who run no mither are more painful in that regard lol. But again franklin's weave lol. But my main point is in general I'm seeing people give up earlier and more often regardless of the killer being faced and I'm just worried about the data that, that's giving bhvr ya know.

  • @HoodedWildKard said:

Tldr: the game has a meta and is frustrating.

It's the instant giving up that has been the most frustrating tbh. Like not matter which side I'm playing when it happens it makes me pretty angry lol.

  • Like shaving two seconds of ghost face's cool down will totally make him not be trash lmao. Like if you're gonna buff them buff them because you know that these killers won't be touched again at least for a year.

Also Skull Merchant only getting a UI update is diabolical.

She might well be, but you’re also reacting very strongly to what can only incidental at best.

20 Minutes in a match dude. I was gone for 15 and had to spend 5 trying to find her so I could see her because bagging was THAT important.

  • @GentlemanFridge said:

Realistically, how often does this actually happen?

This long not often. But people do stay on hatch till they're observed like they did something all the time.

  • @ShanoaLegendaryPlz said:

Most of the ones that stand on hatch have about enough patience for 3-5 minutes. Other than the old hatch standoffs that lasted hours, they may have set a new record lol

Tbf the team kinda threw themselves at the hooks which is why I wanted her to have hatch in the first place I was so confused why I was still in the match when I came back.

  • @Wezqu said:

Like as people here has said Behavior is not responsible of people writing something in your Steam profile. They also are not responsible of what people say in your streams chat. You are yourself responsible of policing your own chat in Twitch or where ever you stream. Also you yourself should realize if you advertise your stream you will get people who will just come there to annoy you that is given. You can't anyway demand a game company to take action against people who are harassing you outside the game its not their hands in anyway. If they do it in the game itself then yes but your streams chat or your steam profile are not their responsibility to moderate.

Like sorry but what you are asking is not feasible and you are taking your frustration on a gaming company of individual people being #########. Still as I said you are blaming a company of things individuals are doing that are not even doing it in the game that the company you blame is operating. So how are you thinking even that they can stop people from writing bad comments into your steam profile or in your chat? Like they don't own either of those platforms.

I only mentioned the steam profile and my stream because people harassing people in game and continuing to do so off is crazy. I report the in game stuff. The in game stuff needs to be policed better. This is the only game I've had to consider privating my steam profile. I play fighting games and you'd think people would come harass people in there too but they don't ya know. I've only ever gotten tip, compliments, or stuff like that on those.

  • @Balrog said:

In our Game Rules, we specifically state we do not handle off platform reports:

NOTE: We do not control anything that happens outside of Dead by Daylight.

This includes private Steam messages/groups/names, PS4/XBOX messages, Discord messages, Twitch/social media interactions, etc. Anything that occurs on these platforms must be reported to their respective authorities.

    Please don't call people ignorant.

So what of the screenshots I send from on platform. it's not normal for every match to have at least one person telling me to off myself ya know. The community isn't being policed very well.

  • @BloodDiamond said:

I get cheaters in 1 out of 5 games now. No longer worth playing.

genuinely feels like bhvr realized that enough people are cheating they could potentially lose enough players to make the share holders mad. Then again that's probably too generous for bhvr. Sus things happen in my games all the time lately. People can straight up disappear when going around the corner gens can pop just a little bit too fast ect ect.

  • @MarbleThrone said:

What exactly is BHVR supposed to do about people doing things outside the scope of their game?

As long as harassment and the like happen within the game (such as in pre- or post-game chat) you can report them there and send in a support ticket if necessary.

But outside of the game, you gotta report them to the respective platforms. Steam, Twitch, whatever. You can't really expect BHVR to police people's actions on a platform that isn't theirs.

They do it inside and out don't be ignorant you know that. if I gave NetEase a ticket with screenshots from in game and outside that a player was harassing me in and off platform they'd take a ban bhvr doesn't do enough.

  • @Mushwin said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/466447/bhvr-doesnt-do-enough-about-bad-actors

Sadly, trying to police the community, the slurts, the hate on stream, you may as well tell the sea to stop been wet. Since there was the inter-google, there has always been the haters, the whiner weiners, the ones who take it too fat, but then is also the good ones etc. It's a needle in a haystack and people will always find a way to get around stuff, best to ignore it, sounds hard, but it is easy enough, to feed the trolls. It's like having mods around 24/7 to search and seek every little thing, word, expression, even the real and vt police dont do so.

At very least banning the people who go harass people outside the game and try to dox them ya know. Like the ######### in game I can take it's the stuff outside of the game is frustrating. I feel like if you're going out of the way to find a person outside of the game to continue flinging crap you don't deserve to play the game ya know.

  • @jesterkind said:

As others have said, the available evidence doesn't support the idea of BHVR only balancing around spreadsheet numbers.

In fact, there's a good simple example of this in action— you bring up the idea of killers with high killrates getting no changes or nerfed when that isn't appropriate, but the two poster children for the difference between killrate and strength are Nurse with a low killrate and obscene strength + Pig with a high killrate and (historically) low strength.

Well, Nurse has been nerfed a handful of times (including this PTB, albeit only via addons) and Pig's been buffed multiple times over the past few years.

The devs do understand the limitations of data, it seems. Whether they make the right decision in any given circumstance after that point is subjective, of course, but there's just no reason to think they only look at spreadsheets.

The way fast track made it to live in the trickster update is one of the things that shows that the BHVR team doesn't play enough of the game though. Like it wouldn't have been hard to swf up to see how bad the Stakeout+Hyperfocus+Fast Track+ Toolbox with BNP actually was ya know.

  • @Nazzzak said:

DCs (and therefore bots) aren't included in official stats/kill rates that are used for balancing purposes. Devs have said that before

That doesn't solve the issue of people straight up giving up for them either though. I either turn friendly and it becomes a four man out because the players in the lobby refuse to learn or I kill them even though they were just standing under hook. Both decisions inflate or deflate the numbers. Furthermore numbers are nice but they can't tell the full story.

  • @crogers271 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/466393/the-fight-back-mechanics-are-bad-for-the-game

Most of the fight back mechanics are generally losing strategies, however:

These mechanics don't add anything to the game

Without these mechanics the game would probably be dead. If it was just chase one survivors, the other three heal and do gens, it would be extremely boring. There needs to be other possibilities for both sides to keep the game engaging.

they make the new player experience on killer miserable because the match will take ages because if it's a four stack they legitimately won't touch gens until they get bored or the killer DC's whichever happens sooner

The people who keep their MMR low to bully new players its own problem. It also wouldn't change the teams, instead of saboing they'd all just bring looping builds until the killer quit.

There's also certain types of squads certain killers can't deal with for example a Sadako can't face a no mither sabo squad because she simply can not get downs fast enough to deal with them unless they over extend.

This is its own issue in DbD - if the survivors bring just the right build against just the right killer they are going to have a substantial advantage (the same applies in reverse, if they bring the wrong builds against the wrong killer they will be at a substantial disadvantage).

I disagree that the game would be dead. But, the amount of times that I've lost games as a solo because the knobheads who run this ######### are too busy trying to clipfarm is unbearable. These people also have super inflated egos and when you beat them they crash out to the point where I've had to private my steam profile because I was tired of having to clean out the bs. It's good for content creators but generally unhealthy for the game. Especially since the dev team uses spreadsheets with data that isn't completely accurate for balancing.

  • Problem is DS is super easy to use and it procs even if you aren't tunneling lol. Like I've lost games over it and that is a problem in of itself. A lot of the anti tunnel shite including the basekit bt are things that I've only ever seen used agressively.

  • @Rokku_Rorru said:

I don't care if you all don't like survivors who want to fight back, but we don't need this playstyle changed. I swear everyone just wants to play PvE these days lol

As for "New player experience" how do you know these survivors are at low MMR on purpose? Can you see it? No.

    Skill. Issue.

never said I can not face these people. I'm saying it's ######### boring to face especially if you run into it multiple times in a row. Genuinely if you're queuing in just to be a dickhead maybe you shouldn't be playing the game. Also I pointed out that it's a problem for solo survivors in question as well because what I see fairly often is if they don't take first chase and die is they'll genuinely let me or the other rando if it's only a two stack die and for what? Like I said some people are just queing in to be dickheads and just waste other people's time and I don't think that that should be easy to do because the survivor role is a TEAM role. Bhvr should do things that encourage playing as a team that isn't uselessly (or needlessly) following the killer around.

  • @HoodedWildKard said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4072600#Comment_4072600

I mean the new player experience with dbd is always bad regardless lol. And sadako does not need buffs. Having no cooldown on her traversal at the moment is mental. I seriously doubt that flashlight bully squads getting 4kd is the reason for inflated killer killrates, they are annoying to play alongside but they not exactly common enough to mess with larger statistics

Well I for one don't think people should be able to reset their condemn mid chase for example. You didn't pay attention and got caught out of position you should die ya know. So reverting the time it takes to interact with the tv's and reworking the iri tape to make her power work like it used to (if you don't know survivors used to lose their tape when you hit them with an m1). Also she should be 4.8 because she currently has zero chase presence..

  • @HoodedWildKard said:

Yh builds like that never work against a killer with an ounce of skill. Those players just get off on bullying baby killers who don't know the counterplays or have decent reflexes. Everytime i see 3+ flashlights i know I'm in for an easy game because countering bully squads is so easy.

Honestly I'm most bothered by how it hampers the new player experience and also how it gives bhvr incorrect data which leads to them assuming killers, their addons, or their powers need nerfs, or don't need buffs because their kill rate is still high. Like Sadako needs buffs but, she isn't likely to receive any changes because she has a relatively high kill rate.

  • @thats1evildude said:

Yeah, it’s unfortunate as a Survivor to get in a lobby with one of these people, as they’re just going to end up dead in two minutes because they only care about teabagging and flashlight blinds.

I queued in with a flashlight 3 stack and told them pregame not to throw. I was told to stfu and play the game. The person who told me that died first then the other one who was committed to going for head ons died second. The only other one who made it out other than me was smart enough to get on gens when the first person died. I decided to be smug in the egc and go "So… What did we learn?" It's so stupid. They literally all play the same lol.

  • Kinda flippant for no reason aren't we? It'd be a nice QoL change….
It's baffling that the team role for the team game has no way to communicate lol.

  • @Phantom_ said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4071179#Comment_4071179

Yes, I read your entire post, I know. I was just explaining why, since that is what the devs have said over the years, it wasn't an attack on you or a slight.

As for you broaching an entirely different topic: that is exactly why they wouldn't want to add that to lobbies or in a way that would allow for people to just keep dodging and extending waiting times even more. You went from discussing adding more communication tools (something that would be helpful) to just you wanting to abuse info to dodge teammates/lobbies (something that is counterproductive).

I mean is playing with a claudette that refuses to do anything other than hide for hatch fun for you? Like honestly I was mostly joking I just won't be expecting people running those builds to help me when I'm hooked or get on gens more than they need to to get rid of AFK crows.

  • @Phantom_ said:

They will probably add it in 10 years or something. I think it took the game 7 to 8 years before the HUD information was added so SoloQ teammates could have a bit more information about their teammates' whereabouts/actions. 9 years for colourblindness and other very basic and common settings to be added to the game.

I don't think they mind adding it, it will probably just be in typical BHVR fashion where it is going to take them an unreasonable amount of time (years) to implement such basic changes.

As for comms, I think one of the big reasons they didn't want to add it in general are the different servers across different counties with so many different languages being spoken and how it can't be moderated. Not everyone speaks English, nor likes to. But pinging or gesturing really shouldn't be an issue.

Which is why I said that coms are unlikely lol. But I have some hope being able to see the lobbies perks is a W. Much easier to dodge lobbies with people running rat builds lol. So there's hope but it's slim unfortunately lol.

I wasn't talking to you, but pretty much all you've done is cry about how hard killers have it, or how much survivors complain about this or that it, so it kind tracks. Ironic you have a post about people not being as good as they think they are (of course, almost solely aimed at survivors) yet can't take your own advice.

But in what realm is 4 slowdown healthy? I'd change that if I could too.

It's not the same once a gen is done it can't be undone. Like you can buy time but when gens are done they're done. Also judging by the amount of WoO i see in comparison to lethal pursuer for example you can make your judgment there. Also most realms are stuffed full of pallets rn lmao. If you main sadako or pig like i do the game doesn't feel great to play atm. Not to mention the amount of flashlight and sabo squads that I'm encountering in bloodmoon so far lol. Like honestly if "power role." Why all these frustrating and annoying things that interrupt your goals aside from being able to make health states not matter and make gens fly by.

  • @cogsturning said:

    @Aven_Fallen

It's only a skill issue when survivor lose. When killers lose, it's the games fault.

Never said that lmao. In what realm is 40 second gens and 4 second heals healthy?

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4067020#Comment_4067020

No, I dont really see that in game. I also dont really see games becoming shorter than 4 minutes on a regular basis. Regardless which side I play.

If it happens more often to you, I think this is a You-Problem. And no offense, I have watched some of your content and I have to ask - do you REALLY think you cannot do better? Do you really think it is Perks or the game being unfair?

I never said I couldn't improve on both killer and survivor. I'm just saying 3 - 4 gen popping before 1st chase is finished is a little ridiculous and also healthstates literally not mattering is a little ridiculous. My best killer by far is artist and have had good matches as her but, I don't stream playing her often because the loop tends to be kinda boring. Hell I haven't streamed in 3 months at this point so my content doesn't reflect my current skill level on either role anyways. Imagine insulting someone for wanting to comeback better and assuming what they see in game isn't real. This community man….

Still, a video would help more than another baseless complain by you. You dont even specify how many people were on that Gen. They might have stacked up with 3 people.

1 person and someone came up during chase and finished it. I'm just confused as to why you'd want video when A. You've probably seen it happen in game and B. You've probably done something similar in game. Like it's becoming rarer to reach endgame in over 4 minutes even when I'm sweating my ass off so there's that.

  • @AmpersandUnderscore said:

Gen Regression Stacking is A Problem too

Literally how, Killer can only do it eight times…

I'm so sick of people pretending like the options killers have to slow down the game are just as good as the options survivor has to speed up the game. Fast Track punishes you for playing the way BHVR wants you to FFS. Like genuinely eruption, Surge and Pain res, Have all gotten undone way faster than it took me to try to get value outta them for the most part. Like yeah corrupt is a thing but, most decent survivors will come to you and do the close gens anyways or, will wait it out making the perk useless anyways. Also when you run the on gen regression related hex perk gets found and cleansed immediately so there's that. And yet boons can be placed infinitely. The "Power role" people behold. We have 40 characters in our roster and only 3 can keep up but the gamestate is perfectly fine and balanced.

there is a lot of factors, but we'll never have a perfect game regarding the go next. If you've been around for a long time you'll see the go next prevention and the dc penalties have achieved absoloutley nothing. I still see DCing killers/Survivors every other match near enough.

The only thing which has been a success is the abandon allowing survivors who have been slugged for a while to get out of matches the killer is doing it on purpose.

To reiterate, DBD will never be a perfect game and until they find a way to make it more fair (there is just too many factors as you've pointed out) they can't have these punishing systems, cheaters abound, vpners abound.

I personally think people being able to leave was healthier for the game, coz the emblem system put you into matchmaking with people who also abandoned lots (Depipping). Ofc sometimes it was a wild card (high ranks queueing with low ranks) but that is no different than what I see on live. I feel like MMR will always never be perfect, the emblem system at least gave some context to the lobby you were in.

Ranked games I feel would bring the competitive people to the same area, the tunnelers, the gen rushers all the people who want to play the game super optimally.

As for "Bully Squads", I'd much rather be interacted with then spend a match watching gens fly by coz no one wants to play, it's why I play killer or survivor, to interact with the other side. I just think people feel they are too forced to equip for genrushing to build for countering altruism/chase rn. A better base kick like 10 or so percent would go a long way, gen regression/lockdown perks are way too impactful rn, for good reason.

Buddy… Guy… Gen regression has been pretty much gutted all the while the most common perk type to release or get buffed on survivor is gen progression lmao. The pace of the game doesn't allow for 12 hooking on certain characters. Which honestly I myself am bugged by I LOVE Hex Builds and stealth builds BUT, the current pace of the game doesn't allow for that unfortunately. When 2-4 gens aren't popping in the first 2 to 2 and a half minutes I'm facing squads of people who's whole goal is to harass the killer player and try to make them miserable. Like this game has the potential to be great but, the devs need to know how it feels to play both sides to do that and they clearly don't because they keep doubling down on gen progression.

  • @random1543 said:

This mentality happens about the same on BOTH Sides on average, if you mostly play killer role I can understand not seeing that.

I've seen killers give up because there first chase was too long and gens poped, or because the chase was long and someone got a save.

I have also seen killers who will just give up as soon as we load into a map they don't like, swing at gens to get you do them and then open the gate, should we also punish them with bans and harsher punishments as suggested in this thread for survivors.

When I queue for survivor matches if I hit the point where I'm not feeling it anymore? I CLOSE the game! Yeah I kinda check out if 3 gens pop in the first two minutes but, You know what i do I play friendly I make sure the people in my lobby still have a good time. It's not that hard to realize that in a multi player game you're not the only person who matters

  • It would be a good qol change that would address a killer pain point lol. Like if no ones on death hook and everyones inside the exit gat I don't think there's any reason why they shouldn't be able to leave. Beats waiting for the people wanking while they spam crouch to leave.

Sadako is one of my favorite killers to play against but the experience is ruined when I have fully condemned teammates at 3/4 gens 🤦‍♂️

Honestly BHVR should add killer bots to customs so people can practice against killers that they struggle against. Also they really should explain all status effects in the tutorial why they don't confuses me.

Because i agree there's a double standard with the way killer is treated compared to survivor, by both BVR and the community? I glanced over your points but im not writing an essay in response. It's not like the topic is new… A mindless upvote doesnt mean anything.

Fair I guess. Lmao it is funny how the killer experience has all these weird baked in rules though like some of it I get other things not so much. And I know a lot of it is because blight exists. Blightless dbd would probably be peak lol

  • @Shinkiro said:

Im not reading all that but there is undeniably a double standard.

    Genuinely why even comment then?

Okay, I'll give this a go.

It does happen from killer players from time to time but, ninety percent of the time when someone goes outta their way to be hateful outside the game mind you it is from a survivor.

If you play the exact same amount of killer as you do survivor, you are seeing four times as many survivors as you do killers (actually more if you count the other survivors in the lobby when you are a survivor, if you played an equal amount of survivor and killer 87.5% of the other players you encounter would be survivors.). Statistically it being mostly survivors reflect the fact that you will see mostly survivors.

Otherwise, the game has a lot of toxicity that many people wish BHVR would do more about.

With the most recent patch with the new Fast Track it's clear that BHVR is just going to double down on decisions that tanked and killed other asyms as it punishes killers for doing it's objective.

There are plenty of perks on the killer side that activate based on survivors completing their objective, not to mention basekit things like Bloodlust and Window Blocking that are meant to assist the killer if the survivor is doing too well in chase.

Comeback perks and mechanics have been with DbD on both sides for a long time. Personally, I'll think they make for a generally healthier game than win more perks, but both have their place.

Like it's bad perk design I'm sure if Pain Res was changed where the damage is unable to be undone for one of the seven gens the change wouldn't make it to live hell it probably wouldn't make it off the drawing board lol.

Because how would that even work? The survivors just couldn't complete the gen ever? Yes, obviously that would be a bad perk design.

On the other hand, slowing down how long it takes survivors to complete a gen, again, we already have perks that actually do that.

They should be able to defend the hook in order to secure a kill or hook state it's strategy.

    Using infinites was a strategy.

    BU+FTP was a strategy.

Heal builds to self heal in chase was a strategy.

Skull Merchant going for time out wins was a strategy.

Just because something is a strategy doesn't mean its balanced or good gameplay.

Now lets talk the win more learn less mentality. There's a reason you see most lobbies in high mmr running Stakeout Hyperfocus and I'm Sure Fast Track will be added and then it's just Sprint burst, Dramaturgy, Dead Hard or Lithe (their choice) and a tool box with a brand new part. This build is extremely oppressive for anyone who isn't Blight or Nurse.

It's extremely oppressive to face Blight or Nurse without one of those builds.

This isn't a single sided issue. Both sides have various choices that have a range of strengths (S Tier to D Tier), and if the other side 'sweats' more than you, yeah, they are going to be in better shape.

Now let's talk the anti tunnel stuff. I only ever see people use it aggressively and honestly that's not what it's for.

What its for is a tricky argument. I don't think BHVR ever intended tunneling to become as predominant as it is, and they clearly didn't think 3 genning or camping were how they actually wanted the game to go, but that didn't stop killers from complaining that BHVR was taking something from them.

For someone to use something like the basekit BT that means the killer has to be right on the tail of the unhooker. If they run to find you, just wait out the BT. If you think they have DS, leave them slugged.

The game got more frustrating because a perk released over tuned? It's super bad when it happens to survivors nerfs are coming super fast! When it happens to killers? We're either told to get good or play around it which we do while conversely any mistake a bad survivor player can make are generally smoothed over by the game's design.

If they were on even a short vacation a survivor could have missed the original release of fog vials entirely. That's how quick BHVR jumped in to change it.

Again, its something we can play both sides on. Some things stick around broken for a long time, some get addressed instantly.

Also when you complain about people holding you hostage in endgame it's always met with well you can push them out you can still move around just alt tab ect ect.

All of which could also be used as an argument against survivors having the ability to surrender when slugged.

I'm open to the idea of more abandon options for killers, but this literally isn't true for survivors. The killer can push the survivors out, the survivors can't do that.

Whatever the abandon options should be, as a pure factual matter there are differences on what each role can do in the end game scenarios.

So... Thoughts on coms, blight and nurse nerfs, a better tutorial, what're your thoughts on the stuff that I asked for that would probably make the new player experience better on average?

  • @SoGo said:

So now it's 17 second gens?

Wow, the goalposts sure are moving fast. It was 30 seconds at first, then suddenly 20, and now 17?

Lemme guess, you need an entire team's loadouts dedicated to this one thing.

I've had it happen. Matches typically hit end game round the 5 minute mark though. Its just funny every "busted" thing a killer can do has to be nerfed but the fact that a 3 min escape squads exist can not only be ignored but is fair and balanced lmao.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

I mean, you post your stuff on a Forum and so you also have to accept that people might disagree with you or dont like what you write.

Should that person have called you that? No. But there is nothing to gain from posting it here. Just report and move on.

(And honestly - if your main point would have been to talk about what you have been called, I would be more understanding. But your main point in the other thread was that the players did not leave fast enough… And honestly for that - grow up. Waiting around the Exit Gates to teabag is childish, but getting mad about it is equally childish, especially because Killers have a way to deal with that by pushing Survivors out)

This community needs to get better at policing the BS. Again GG EZ is not the same as identity based attacks.
