But... Its not possible to spend 10 minutes slugged... The max is 4 minutes...
probably a figure of speech, it feels more like ten minutes lmao. unless crawling away from somebody that deserves taking ten minutes finding you as the last one alive, in which case I could crawl around the map for an hour out of spite if I could and feel entertained the whole time.
-
Not gonna lie, I would really love that right now it would free a slot for head on or that power struggle or whatever it's called to maximize potential in a troll loadout
-
Chances are you're rewarding them by deranking them were the matchmaking less borked than it is, since they tunnel somebody to be less stressed and be able to be laid back the rest of the game especially if they suspect or confirmed they're dealing with a group. So depip away, sometimes when somebody is camping you and you're first hook especially, yeah they might be an idgit but they might also be depipping through you in a way less boring than being afk and while getting at least a few bp for it.
It doesn't work as well depipping that way with insidious I think, so idk what those guys are thinking unless they wanna troll or are just frustrated with frequent saves and few kills maybe. In which case can't blame for doing what they gotta do to make the game funf or themselves. That's what we're all doing while we play. In a game like this there isn't usually enoughf un to go around for everyone, unless you're happy farming, so in order to have your fun you have to take it from somebody else.

I'd really like to know the win rate of all the killer mains complaining about swf. Can you guys accept it's ok to lose a game once in a while and that a win rate over 60% shouldn't be considered normal?
There are people that can consistently 4k against many of the good ones and still hate playing against them sometimes just because sometimes it is very unfun for them to go against the way they play. I can imagine it's exhausting sometimes. I'd never stick around long enough to find out how exhausting, on bad nights I wnet to survivor the rest of the night or played a different game if survivor queues were longer than 5 minutes some of the nights. I don't work for free. Even clowns need to get paid. Pun intended.

The devs have said the goal is two dead & two escape on average per match, across all ranks. Your personal goal as killer might be to get all 4 (perfectly reasonable btw) but overall they're looking for two.
Based on their history of changes, imo they resist doing anything that splits the playerbase, hurts queue times, or 'punishes' a side. So directly nurfing anyone in a SWF is unlikely either. Since more that half of all survs are in at least a two-man that's a lot of players to consider in all the ranks.
I believe we need to keep all of this in mind when making suggestions. To me the method that makes the most sense is to raise the info aspect of solos to something closer to SWF levels, and then balance killers around that. Exactly how to do that is very debatable.
Over the past few weeks I've been teaming up with friends who are quite new to the game and trying to teach them, mainly because the tutorials are ineffective and solo queue is a nightmare. My personal goal has been to get everyone else out, easier said than done just check out recent vods for that.
But it helps to remind me we have to consider all players and ranks together.
Based on their recent history that doesn't seem accurate since they took mori out of the game, the only incentive for some people to not dodge a suspected or profile confirmed swf lobby or to blow off steam after a number of bad games in a night rather than switch to survivor or start playing anything else. I don't enjoy long queue lengths and only want to play survivor moving forward. so anything that could impact that negatively for me I'm against, and I solo, and have had some awful experiences in lobbies with 3 man swf as a solo survivor since you're just bait to them or a place to try and leave the killer hoping you'll keep it busy for them or get camped so they can do gens. Some can be helpful because of the teamwork mindset and the tactics they're used to, and I've gotten out once in a while due to some to my surprise, but generally they either ignore me or try and use me as if I'm another perk or addon in their loadout. They are often the most selfish players and I always roll my eyes regardless of which side I happened to be on expecting a bad experience.

@ukenicky said:
You do you. Does dodging a lobby before it starts incur any kind of penalty?
I hope not but I'm genuinely wondering as I'm still a bit new to the game.
It does not, and if one survivor does not ready up to allow them to quick swappt o an annoying setup at 16 seconds left just before it goes red you can hold your ps/xbox guide button and close the game or have task manager prepared on pc (to quickly alt+tab to) to quickly force end the game as long as it's still on the offerings screen and doesn't show the loading bar yet without a penalty and it should also give offerings back that way. survivors did that allt he time when moris were around every time the killer had a hidden offering, if you noticed "a player has disconnected during matchmaking" or anything similar after along attempt to load a match while using a hidden offering as a killer 9 times out of ten that was what happened.
Now that survivors don't need the trick any more you can bet devs will fix it within a month or two, well before keys are lightly tapped on the wrist, so enjoy it as often as you can while you can. Although the best advice if a survivor doesn't ready up is to simply dodge that lobby and punish them for it/deter that undesired behavior by making them wait for another killer and sparing yourself the waste of time on the countdown in the lobby and starting the game back up again if you crash on the offerings screen.
The only reason you should need to crash it on the offering screen, if you dodge lobbies well, is when you see 4 offerings for the same map. ALWAYS crash it on those and if you aren't fast enough to crash it before the loading just take the 5 minute penalty on that map and my word for it that it's the right choice for you there. Anyone telling you different, even if they claim to be a killer, is probably not wanting to deter killers from falling into the funzone swf nightmare world traps.
It is very rare that 4 random survivors will all coincidentally use the same offering unless it is a bloodpoint offering, or a non purple mist thicken offering unless it's a swf wanting to bring you to a map that will make you miserable against their team. And swf CAN be crossplatform, it's just not likely to be common unless one of their friends does not have the game on the same platform. most of those swf groups should be the casual ones and not a problem though, but they can still communicate over voip outside of the consoles as well and I wonder if some have or will just to throw off lobby dodging killers. So never stay in a game with 4 map offerings all for the same map, the only exception might be hawkins lab depending on your killer. You might think middlewich too, but if they all have object of obsession and place middlewich offerings, you'll never catch any of them. And they won't even need voip for that.

Everyone knows that usually the ones that u expect this kind of harassment is from survivors, but today, for the first time, I saw a killer doing it.
The player was an huntress and after looping her for a far amount of time, all the remaining gens popped and I looped her until both gates were 99%, she brought me to the basement and camped me, which I find completely fair because it was in the endgame. Surprisingly, the 3 randoms I was playing with rushed in and saved me, we all escaped but one guy that got sacrificed in my place during the rescue.
I proceeded to thank the team in endgame chat and say ggs to everyone only to find out that they were console, and see the huntress wishing that we, and our families would all die from cancer and covid and that she would dance on our bodies. I told her that was a bannable offense (it is right?) but she just kept going.
I reported her in game for harassment and explained there what happened, do I need to report it anywhere else? Do I need to use the customer support somehow? Submit a ticket? This is my first time reporting someone and I want to do it correctly.
So, have u ever gotten any kind of death wishes/threats like this? If so, what have u done? How do u feel about it? I find it kinda rare the see so much toxicity in endgame chat, so this was actually surprising.
with the matchmaking as it is from the lack of properly ranked killers, I'm pretty sure newer players and lesser skilled ones are gonna start wishing more death upon the world especially no longer being able to blow off steam with a mori afterwards. I find this entertaining lol. I had a good laugh reading the story, since I expected the bitterness to ramp up a bit with the current state of the game during the evening hours.
I haven't played too many times outside of a week or so the past couple of months maybe by now, but last night I had fun using deliverance, ds, no mither and dead hard. An ashe and my laurie were the last two alive with all gens done, and it turned out the ash had deliverance too as he pulled himself off the hook (I checked his perks after the game) and I pulled myself off as well and made it to a far door and 99% it before before being downed on it. I was gonna DS the poor trapper , tap the door switch, then dead hard out alive but he went for the other guy after laying a trap in front of the switch at which moment I lul'd hard. I waited till he was far enough away to give myself time, and finished reviving myself fully with no mither, then disarmed his trap, tapped the switch and dead harded out since I knew where the hatch was in the road and so did the other guy. he got out too. I play solo, but I knew that other guy knew the hatch position as I noticed him camping around it which was how he got found.
I am hoping to make killers that are low or mid rank as miserable as possible for their own good. the more leave or quit or afk or camp out of frustration the more likely devs are to stop shitting on them for once. And the road to there is fun and funny as hell like that match. even solo a lot of killers get trolled, they have it bad and keep getting it made worse for them like not even having moris any more lol. no wonder they started making death threats, it's about all they can do against some people any more besides afk the bad games. I don't play to escape or even earn points only to make the killers as frustrated as possible before I die or escape in funny games like the one I mentioned. doing god's work since the devs don't wanna do it. merry christmas to that trapper, god help you if you got dbd for christmas. same if you got cyberpunk too.

I mean the killer can still use a VPN to gain a massive advantage anyways. 'Hit validation' didn't change this in any aspect from my testing.
but, the killer cannot throttle your own bandwidth when not acting as the host, they also used to be able to boot individual players in suspected swf one by one, to leave just one or two guys left to terrorize or force to willingly dc. With the original p2p setup , that was easy to do in windows. As swf is prettyc ommon, at least with duos and to some degree trios, I'm pretty sure you don't want the game becoming the killer even suspecting 3 or 4 man swf and kicking 2 or 3 guys every time they're having a bad night and forcing the last guy or two to take a dc penalty now that the game has those. I'm pretty sure if the killer could kick them again actually that everybody they kicked would get a stacking dc penalty, even though the killer cut their connection to their IP and they didn't dc by the survivors' own choice or any fault on their connection's end.
This is truly a case of you think you want this, but you don't. Survivors could also get the killers' IP and butthurt survivors could ddos them. It wouldn't be worth keeping this installed that way. Not to mention yet still, if you think you have ping problems NOW... with p2p again not only will it be completely random and unpredictable, you will be having spikes while int he middle of playing out of nowhere and it won't always be due to lag switches or intentional either. Trust me, you think you want this, but, you really don't. Dedicated servers are always better unless you spend a ton of money maintaining private servers. Those are the only occasional exception. The game is bad enough without all that bs too.

I find bloodhound and predator to be kinda nonsensical. When you play for a while you kinda get to know peoples movements and things. I'm not saying I got absolutely zero value out of anything but it was slim. I find shadowborn to be good because I like high fov. Kinda wish shadowborn didn't take a perk slot tho
I think there's a spirit addon where bloodhound might be useful, never really tried it as I didn't use her much except to fart around with surveilance/undying/ruin once I had all 3 on her just a couple or few times. It worked really well though especially on old ormond because the skilodge was like a nexus point for me. I got around so fast they hardly had any time to start working on anything except when somebody was being dragged to a hook. Grabbed somebody off a gen twice doing that, but I think i was looking at bloodhound and curious about that perk cause iirc when looking at her addons one mentioned seeing blood trails in the phase walk thing.

I think before doing anything that impacts killer gameplay in the more negative, like more sweat or able to be more easily toyed with/trolled they need to first put those AI steered bots into the game. There is 6 months before Back 4 Blood comes out, and ats ome point next year an Evil Dead multiplayer game may be released as well. Turtle Rock (original Left 4 Dead developers have stuck around when their company broke from Valve and became what it is now) is making Back 4 Blood, some of their developers basically created thats tyle of gameplay working on the original Left 4 Dead. Saber iirc, is making the Evil dead game and has proven themselves on the Witcher 3 Port for Nintendo Switch and the World War Z game, both companies could produce something more fun, stable, and pretty yet at high fps than behavior in my opinion.
Behavior has about that long to convince me I shouldn't quit dbd for another nearly 4 years. Long queues as survivor and unbearably miserable killer gameplay that I would rather wait in queue for 20 minutes as survivor instead to avoid isn't the way to keep me interested.
-
lol at this point I probably wouldn't have admitted to freddy being my only adept somebody is bound to comment about it
-
sounds harmless, you got one blind, you don't need 3 or 4 more and then to wonder whyt he queues got so long a couple weeks later
-
remove the dedicated servers so killers, being the game is probably still programmed to favor them in local hosted matches, can run ping throttling and IP filtering software tot urn the game into a nightmare again? or so that pssed off swf that manage to get beaten can ddos the killers again being able to easily get their IP with literally no effort? I'd take even ######### dedicated servers over that bs, I'd even take the way time warner used to throttle me while playing league when I lived in NY over that bs

We must take the pings from the survivors and redistribute it among the killers, so that no matter how good their internet is, how much they've spent on it, and how hard they've tried to play well we all end up together at the finish line making that hard work pointless when you could have coasted by on much less effort. To infinity... and beyond!

Yeah if for whatever reason I have a DC penalty, I just stop playing. Five minutes or five days, I'm done. I'm sure that's great for queue times too, to have less people playing their game.
It is currently if it's fewer survivors competing for spots actually. but others' queue length and experiences aren't my concern. I just do it so I don't waste my own time is all. Quick and easy solution is to fire up something else instead and try again tomorrow

About 10 minutes. Not bad for this time of night.
10 minutes being 'not bad' for a few minutes to around 8 minutes of gameplay in exchange... I really wanna see killer nerfs so we can try and get those queues up to half an hour for the entertainment on steam discussions after it happens. some games I have more fun reading about their disasters thana ctually playing those games, dbd has usually been one of them lmao

killer and solo both have it rough, but if they ever actually do make the needed separate queue for anybody in 3 or 4 man lobby, they'll need tot hen buff survivors int he solo or solo/duo only queue to make up for how chatoic it would be in games with mostly solos or a duo and two randoms. it would be safe then to start looking at both sides, and to keep it mode specific. nerfs/buffs where needed on killers and buffs where needed on survivors in the solo mode to balance it out abit and keep those changes applying just to the solo/duo mode so that swf mode owuldn't kill itself off abusing it all lol. swf mode would still get traffic, especially if it gave double bp or everything counted twice toward rift progress.
The fact of the matter is the game could survive at a low pop without swf while it cannot survive at a high pop with fewer and fewer killers every time they drive more from the game with nerfs and the way they troll the killers.

My guess is that this person is addressing the growing qeue problem for Survivor. I don´t think this is the way though, and highly unlikely on top of that. If one day they create a functioning MMR, they are determined to implement it, and in the months/years until this happens Killer lobby lock will remain in place no matter what the feedback looks like.
the game has to survive those months/years lol
with back 4 Blood coming in half a year, and Evil Dead coming some point next year, good luck dead by daylight since you might just become dead before dawn.

Heyo,
as in title, what is the actual point of bringing mori as killer? Don't get me wrong, I'm all in into changing it, but this change was simply lazy, and it puts it as offering even below bronze blood points offerings. To be honest it makes more sense to remove them out completely at this point, rather than have additional useless pick in bloodwebs.
Only use of it I can think of is if you get daily, or archive challange to kill someone by hand.
Why can't we get some option to dunno, for example fuse few other offerings that just sit there into 1 other from particular category? For example transforming 3 offerings of your choice into 1 random from categories of map, bloodpoint, or mori(as if anyone would use the last one now though).
And do we really need offerings/items to be limited to particular character? And don't get started with "it's unrealistic" or "every character has what he found". How comes they can learn other's characters perks? Do they have random chit-chats at bonfire to teach each other their skills? Do they have shed full of toolboxes/flashlights/medkits, ready to pick items from before match begins?
While we're at it, why isn't eq shared between all survivors for example? I can get the issue in killers, as they have killer specific addons, but then again offerings could be shared.
just reroll by hand ignore those int he rifts unless devs were dumb or douchey enough to place one at an intersection with no viable waya round in the survivor branches anything stating "by hand" needs to be changed to sacrifice now and there should Never be a sacrifice all 4 at an intersection on a rift ever again now that mori are gone it should ONLY be on a Dead End branch off now. unless you want people afk wraithing down tor ank 16 to do a kill all 4 and afking when it feels like they're all gonna be too hard to catch until they get enough ptoatos to do it without a lot of effort if they're only doing killer for the rift and don't like playing it any more. That could be avoided by simply making no more than sacrifice 3 on a rift at least as far as an intersection on it goes. "Don't hate the player, hate the game."
Either way I'm never paying for a rift again no matter what they put on it. They could put that rift on an onlyfans and I'm still not paying for it any more since only half it I'd be interesting in playing through (the survivor parts of them) especially with the killer parts being super grindy just to keep you having to play killer often and provide entertainment in queue. hook 20 different survivors can lead toy ou not being able to get half of it done in a single match and needing to do it over 5 different matches at a minimum provided you hooked each different player in each of those 5 matches at least once apiece for example. too grindy for me on the role I don't want to play.

Oh ok. Yeah sounds like a good idea. I see at least 1 key a day and I only play around 3 matches. It's really frustrating. I also just played a match with Plunderer's instinct and all 3 chests had keys, 2 purple and 1 pink. Keys really ruin the game rn imo.
Yeah I played 3 or 4 matches last night with elodie or whatever her name is t check out the sweater, first time I playe din a while by now but I wanted to stockpile the 300k login bonus too. I used plunderer's ina couple of the matches and got a purple key out of the firstc hest opened in the first match I used it in and she only has tier 2 plunderer's LUL. back during the no dc periods, one of the last ones, I played around with builds including no mither and also plunder/ace builds and found pink keys even so often that it kept me playing even though there was often a dc or two in many matches I had.
It would have been nice before they were hit so hard if a killer could have equipped a pair of perks that frequently gave them mori and colored power addon capability in the middle of a match out of nowhere without the warning being burned on the offering screen for the lulz. I imagine survivors would have lit the forums and steam discussions up more than portland over something like that.

Last Year and Hide or Die have actually complete different core gameplay than DbD. They share setting and the assymetrical approach, but it didn't have a gameplay loop that worked well enought compared to DbD. The actual direct competitors were Identity V and Souls at Stake technically. The first one started too much as a blant copy and was too mobile focused. The second had worse Graphics and was called chinese Copy way too quick, even though they did their own spin of DbDs core gameplay.
Also Souls at Stake and Last Year weren't handled much worse than DbD.
I can remember, that it was back in 2018 I believe, that DbD was called one of the most interesting games by Japanese devs, I think. Or something like that. That gave me hope that we might see an interesting competitor in the future. I still hope somebody takes inspiration and closer look to the game, because DbD kinda found a formula for asymmetrical gameplay that works. Would be a shame, if it would be the only one.
last year was far from perfect itself, I had it ont he discord launch and played it for about a couple weeks, the main problem with that game was once people figured out how to constantly tazer the killer and when the devs did some patche speople didn't like and then left the game abandoned in that state until steam a year later when as far as know they probably did the same thing to it over again. theyw eren'tt alking to people on discord after a while, and I heard were even banning people for complaints about the state they left the game in and the lack of communication from them. or maybe it was the discord mods doing the banning, not sure if those were actual devs that were all mods or if any were to be fair. but the lack of communication and the state it was left in were what burnt peoples' interest from my take on it. It was prettyf unt he first few nights though if you found a fun lobby and stayed in it. not too many lobbies seemed to be available though, not sure how many people played it when it first came out.

that's not necessarily being selfish, more than having tunnel vision, no pun intended. the gen won't give many points compared to combinging some altruism points along with it. pretty sure they just do that often because they don't know better or sometimes get hardlocked on that gen and their mind may wander or they're close to finishing it and judge poorly on whether they should leave it or if it's close enough to be worth the pop (most of the time it's not unless it's 2 or 3 seconds away maybe since the game could end on a dime once the killer knows you're not anywhere near the downed/hooked guys and has an idea where the last guy to down is roughly after you pop it). At that point, if they're too scared to unhook or revive, theys hould at least have enough sense to not set that gen off and reveal themselves and go look for the hatch instead imo

I was expecting this thread to tell me something like if I do, my phone will ring and then I’ll only have 7 days left to live. I’m so disappointed.
you were warned about that last week. so you won't be disappointed for long

Not to come off as rude, but one of them screams like a demonic son of a ######### and the other a grown ass man, whats the similarity?
They both sound like I probably used to sound when I called the operator and never said anything and just wanted to listen to her voice in my teens.

meyers in pretty difficult to use if the survivors aren't completely oblivious and are mindful about not feeding him when on decent maps that provide obstacles and well placed generators. I even one person feeds the hell out of him though then yeah that's gonna feel pretty bad for you. But hopefully it'll be a lessonf or them, theyc an look atw hat akiller's abilities do without owning the killer which is something they should do when one gives them trouble.

I see your point but I think if they remove the hatch the devs would have to replace it with some other second chance option for the last survivor. Gens aren't really an option unless the last gen is almost done, and even then it's more beneficial to leave it alone as to not give away your position. I think if they removed hatch they'd have to make doors spawn farther away from each other to give the survivor a fighting chance. I'm no idea man but I think fixing keys and when the hatch spawns is the best idea.
oh I didn't mean remove the hatch, it should spawn whent he lasts urvivor is alive or the exit gates are powered, the key just should not be able to open it any longer until the exit gates are powered or there is only one survivor remaining alive to make them fair with moris no longer giving an early kill versus the key's early escape. the hatch should spawn as usual, just not be able to be opened until one survivor is left alive or the gates as powered a smentioned, but should be able to still be reopened too once the killer closed it by using a key. But allowing early escapes still, considering the lack of enthusiasm it seems there is to play killers now especially, gonna be bad for a long time at least till the next new killer comes for the queue times unfortunately if they continue allowing early swf escapes.

Its not keys. keys counter noed since likely one dead survivour can open the hatch escape at one gen left meaning noed is gonna yield no value. You need gen delay and slug based gameplay to try and lock the hatch option out at least till one survivour is left. Obviously its not easy.
Noed seeing so much use because its a good perk for players who struggle getting to grips with applying map pressure. Combined with killer queue times being significantly lower you will see more players trying to pick up the role and seeing noed as a strong perk option since other perks require specific play patterns to yield results.
Insert hurr durr crap killer players use noed. Let get this out of the way killer is a hard role. There is a lot of easy traps to fall for. A lot of killers have clunky powers and as such you will see a lot of noed players for people trying to learn killer. Not everyone can experiance loss after loss as killer and continue to want to learn.
If noed gives new killers a chance at success i welcome it frankly im sick of long survivour queue times.
That's the spirit

NoED is only a problem if the killer camps/tunnels their first down. Otherwise, you're able to do totems and take NoED out of the equation before it even does anything. There are times where 'just do gens' applies, but in every other situation you can prevent NoED. *insert Smokey The Bear Meme*

I just had a game like that, Killer and Survivors working together to get bloodpoints. Nothing can really be done, I do report it but I doubt it makes any difference. I don't even know if the report feature is for real or if it's just there for the lulz
devs already said theyd on't care about "friendly killers" unless you punish another player for not farming with you through annoying or 'punishing' gameplay. common sense would let you figure out what that would be. whatever you want to do to convince themt o play along with you, or to lash out in anger, probably falls under those things. Just ignore them and farm with those that wanna farm, and don't killt he dweeb otw out or for doing gens. a common sense thing. by the time one party pooper wants to finish the gens all by their self the killer and cool kids have a ton of bp and that survivor gets punished through your avoidance by depipping and having bad teammates so it's all good, and, not bannable that way if you didn't 'harass or pressure them to farm'. only hooking, or, only killing them on death hook and nobody else would fall under that if they recorded the gameplay and whined about it. hence the avoidance, they can't get mad and claim you did anything when you didn't even see them most of the game

In the playstation 5 system UI, I found mouse and keyboard setting entries so it's possible on that one at least if a game ever supports the input. There's adapters for last gen, but, I have no idea how good any are and if some are good what the best ones are or how their latency is
