I didn't say we were. You guys are turning a comment where I was just like "I think they're over exaggerating I personally just haven't experienced it or seen it" into something else. Grow the [bad word] up.

"No. It's not. People love overexaggerating. I've been playing both sides all day and haven't seen a single hitbox issue on either side" -You

Literally everyone else: “Hitboxes are a problem!”

You: “People are over exaggerating because I personally have not seen any hitbox issues”

You literally accused multiple groups of people reporting the same problem and you, the minority is accusing them of "exaggerating". Get some common sense. Plus you are acting like the voice of reason. stop.

    Grow the [bad word] up.

They can not lag switch you communicate to a server and so do they that is controlled by bhvr so they can no longer lag switch as the server says what happens not the killer.

they can, but not in a way like it used to be

hit validation barely works, it hasn't changed a lot

tbh i feel like ghost hits became more common after the hit validation update

and no its a latency problem, i live right next to the servers

Yeah I haven't seen any problems and I'm not even talking just about me. I've been playing with friends and watching streams. I have yet to see one bad hit box that wasn't lag related once ping was looked at.

ah yes, you and your friends are the voice of reason

Servers get loaded and perform worse? Wow, who could have possibly expected that

the in-game player count was cut by half because of this terrible update, its at 24k and going down and i'm still getting these bs hits.

1.the servers are NOT loaded. 2.if they were actually loaded, just a few major servers would be affected by these bs hits - but thats not the case

this is happening in every single server.

Thats fair, oh by the way, DS BT DH and UB would like a word with you. After all if you are doing bad you shouldnt get the escape in the first place

    stop with the aboutism

if you're doing bad, you will go against bad survivors and most of these survivors do not know how to use these perks efficiently

DH is a joke atm, so its pretty funny that you wanna use it as an argument.

So, you'd like a new player to go up against someone who likely has at least 400 more hours than them? My brother recently picked up DBD again, and I've watched him play. He gets a Purple Rank or above in roughly 6/10 matches.

Should we match Rank 20 Survivors against Rank 1 Killers so that they can "get a taste of how high ranked Killers play?"

Of course not. Your argument is completely ridiculous. New players should play with other new players.

its not ridiculous lol, you will eventually get players 4+ ranks above your current rank

and it does NOT happen all the time, and you literally exaggerated a lot by stating that we """""""""should"""""""" match rank 20 survivors with rank 1 killers

that doesn't happen since 2017, and that's that. You will go against good survivors eventually, fact. You will get high rank killers such as 11-7 if you're 13, fact. The rank fluctuates but it doesn't fluctuate up to 10 RANKS. Your examples are completely ridiculous.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1815742#Comment_1815742

In a game where there is no tutorial and these players are often being thrown to high ranks, yes, there should be something to allow them training wheels until they figure out how to play the game.

Not saying that the mori nerf didn't need to happen, but it did help out lower skill players in dealing with people whom they shouldn't be playing with.

"often" like 1/10 matches ? Also, its not an issue if they're getting high rank survivors sometimes - as a matter of fact, that's good

they'll get a taste of how high rank survivors play, which it ain't a big difference because the general IQ between rank 1 survivors is below average.

  • @Rydog said:

Hi. Why am I still getting hit after a clean fast window vault while I am 5 feet away? Get this sorted out, please.

i made a post about this, but people just don't seem to understand that this isn't due to latency or server instability

hit validation isn't ready, its broken and it doesn't work properly

  • @Pipefish said:

This goes at least back to the Billy rework in my opinion. They made Billy a higher skill ceiling with his overheat mechanic and add on changes. Next they plan to give Freddy more of a skill ceiling. Not to mention the mori nerf that gave bad killers a chance to at least do decent. Its getting harder and harder now for new killers to play and excel.

I ain't referring to veteran killers by the way. You all got ruin undying which is overpowered if you know how to play the game. However if you are a new killer I feel this game is becoming more and more unwelcoming. Or maybe its just me, what you all think?

"gave bad killers a chance to at least do decent."

first of all, if you're doing bad you shouldn't deserve a kill in the first place. The mori nerf was a good change.

To be honest, the "swings" against you and the kate seen accurate. It is most likely the other Claudette's connection, since all other hits seem fine.

Now don't get me wrong, I've notice quite a few more "odd" hits in the last 24 hours, but this video actually kinda shows hit detection working. It favors those with a good connection to the server, which appears to be you, kate and the killer. The other person mostly likely had a bad connection and were not in the same place on your screen as they were on the server.

if kate, me and the killer had a connection she shouldn't be seeing him stuttering around.

Sorry, no. Either the system worked and he should've missed every time, or it didn't and he should've hit every time. The system can't suddenly stop working from one moment to another.

Sorry, no. Like i said, there were other cases that the killer was lagging. For example, later into the match i was looping the killer in the main building and he attemped to vault a window, soon after he teleported right back outside - i dont have video proof toh.

I'm just telling the truth, i'm not asking you to believe me.

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1808953#Comment_1808953

Killer missed 3 times. Can´t be the killer.

Most probable thing is, even with the server sided hit detection, the system has it´s limits. It will never be as good as when the killer was the host with p2p and a good connection.

literially the opposite, the killer didnt managed to hit me because he was the one lagging, he was seeing me some secs behind

the system did actually managed to identify that he was the one lagging, so it cancelled some of his hits

But, the system did fail to identify that hit at the end

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1808922#Comment_1808922

there were other cases during the match in which the other survivors experienced some other ghost hits

From whose point of view? See, therein lies the problem. If you're the one lagging, then everything looks weird to you.

If i was the one lagging, the survivors should have also started stuttering around, this clearly wasn't the case

  • @burt0r said:

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1808892#Comment_1808892

Latency should be equal to ping at all instants.

OP, I watched the clip several times now. My best guess is that you started lagging, but not enough to have the alert on your screen. You can tell the red stain becomes "jittery" after the first second or so.

    i'm sorry but disagree, i wasn't lagging

there were other cases during the match in which the other survivors experienced some other ghost hits

There was this time in which the killer attempted to vault a window and he teleported back to the other side.

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1808888#Comment_1808888

Did you see the ping of the claudette? Maybe she was lagging. Also there is this thing called latency.

yes i know what latency is

she* also had a stable ping, unfortunately i wasn't able to record me pressing esc to prove it but just go with my word

some minutes later i also got a ghosthit but again, unfortunately i wasn't able to clip it

  • @Tsulan said:

I really wonder how you came to the conclusion, that the game is priotizing the killers connection.

    He missed you 3 times.

refer to the claudette that got downed miles away ?

plus i even included a second option in the main thread

  • @KateDunson said:

If ping isn't green just dodge the lobby

    this isnt a ping issue

the lobby was green +you can clearly see in the video that there isn't a lag indicator appearing on my screen

  • @Hoodied said:

Ugh, I'll repeat what I keep seeing

Hit Validation doesn't fix latency, Latency is changed through a difficult method that I honestly cannot explain without having it make more questions

but this shouldn't even be happening in the first place, the claudette that got downed in the video was FAR away from the killer

she had a stable ping and she clearly got downed because the KILLER was lagging.

  • @Peanits said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1418171#Comment_1418171

    That was answered here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1417855/#Comment_1417855

But in short, the person lagging is always going to be the one at the disadvantage. If the survivor is lagging, their position is behind on the server, which is beneficial to the killer. If the killer is lagging, they're behind on the server and it's possible their hits will be rejected.

Okay, i have a clip in which my friend got downed miles away from the killer

i can confirm that he was indeed nowhere near the killer (from my pov) +he didn't teleport after getting downed

this happened while hit validation was active, my friend wasn't lagging at all

    https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/342364485593333760/783797450393124884/Dead_by_Daylight_2020.12.02_-_16.53.53.03.DVR_Trim.mp4

there are 2 possiblities to why this happened

    1. Even with hit validation, the game is still prioritizing the killer's connection EVEN with hit validation.
    2. Hit validation is faulty

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1797838#Comment_1797838

Which means you need to rely on ACTIVELY adjusting your aim in order to get the blind. You don't just get to muscle memory it anymore.

That seems more skillful to me. :/

i'm not talking about the sway that occurs when you're already using your flashlight, i'm talking about a randomizer - when you're going to turn on your flashlight, you will aim at different locations

sometimes you'll aim really far from the killer - possibly screwing up your flashlight save. you can test this by yourself.

like i said, they added a luck factor to the flashlight because you don't know when you'll be aiming at when you turn it on, they didn't make it more skillful.

Also, we already had a sway, the only difference is that the location that you aimed didn't change everytime you turned your flashlight on.

  • @RaingerPlaysDBD said:

The Sway is to add more Skill to the Flashlight and give a Purpose to the Accuracy Add-Ons, it even is said in a Quote on one of the Grip Add-Ons that many Deaths have been caused from "Sweaty Hands."

I actually like the Mechanic. However I still think all Survivor Items need a passover, and should be made more in-depth but not buffed (Keys need a Nerf with the Hatch Mechanic, but I'd be down for them unlocking chests, and having less outdated aura reading mechanics, same with Maps). I think Items should be made more complex. Have a set amount of Add-Ons similar to Killers.

this sway doesn't actually add more skill to the flashlight because the position that you aim changes every time you turn your flashlight on, adding a luck factor to the flashlight.

  • a better example

I'm the claudette, my friend got hit miles away and on my screen he was nowhere near the killer. in other words, i saw exactly what he experienced in the video

    Hit validation is still faulty

that's not an argument, he or she will find you eventually

  • Ultra rare flashlight

    slightly increases the consumption time

    moderately decreases the precision

  • @notlonely said:

Just as I see a new wave of users trying to motivate survivors to play stealthy, the game doesn't at all.

Even though I'm not a P3 Claudette main, I still enjoy playing in a stealthy way using perks as Calm Spirit, Iron Will, Fixated and Lightweight. When I was in lower ranks, I even managed to survive some games without even getting chased once. Problem? Playing stealthy implies you need to move unnoticed (unless you're going against Nurse). Many times moving to the corners of the map is useful while the killer looks for you near the generator. If you evade the killer once, or maybe twice, they will start to look much more closer. Although you do waste their time, you actually barely get any points if you're not being chased.

For example, a few days ago I was attempting Adept Zarina. The Bubba I went against wasn't really a pro gamer, and he fell for my Red Herring tricks every time, and I managed to only get chased once. What followed me getting the achievement was a depip, because the game can't know if I actually do anything to the killer. Same thing happened to me a couple times back when I was an Urban Evasion gamer.

In conclusion; the game doesn't actually reward stealth, at least less far than a succesful chase. Not to also count the mANY salty killers that just outright call people with this types of playstyles scaredycats. Stealth is viable, but it won't be anyone's main strategy without the support of many people.

this is a tag game, you should use these perks to make plays during chases

for example, fixated will help you to shift tech

iron will WILL help you to make mind games while injured

    and so on..

Lets add dedicated servers to fix lagswitching !

    After they added dedicated servers:

Lets prioritize the killer's connection over the survivor !

they basically fixed nothing, lagswitching is still a thing ( its just very inconsistent ) and survivors with good connection are being punished because the killer has mcdonalds wifi. Also, what happened to hit validation ? did they just forget about it ? they disabled it one day and we never heard a word after

  • @Yamaoka said:

Quote: "If the killer is decent it's a 4k all the time without even using mindgame."

This is exactly why many people enjoy playing Spirit, Pyramid Head, Deathslinger etc.

Because the match is (almost) all about YOU in terms of chases. YOUR experience decides how the chase goes and how long it takes to down said survivor. Pallets and windows only provide partial defense instead of being potential "5 gen looping objects".

Many killers are sick of having to rely on survivor mistakes/mindgames to get their hits/downs/hooks.

the fact that you can choose how a chase will go shows how bs these killers are. Also, where's the fun in that ? Survivors will go down based on their mistakes and killers won't get kills based on THEIR mistakes. Spirit, Deathslinger and ph - they'll take all of you knowledge and throw it in the trash because haha 50/50 mechanic go brrr

  • @KingOfGhost said:

For Hag use ether flashlight or crouch

For GS use the corners from the loops and try looping in bulding and no arounf pallets

For PH he can hit you with he power only if you are in lock animation so fake a window or pallet and you ok

For Spirit Iron Will and try to play stealth.

Thoes are not the most fun counter but they are counters.

PH has a 50/50 mechanic - faking a window isn't a 100% counter since you don't have a crystal ball and you can't predict if he's going to use his power. Same goes to spirit.

Also, "use this perk to counter this very specific killer" isn't an argument. You'll likely die within the first 20 secs of chase against a stridor spirit, even if you're using iron will.

Ghost face isn't a 50/50 killer, so thats that.

Hag is kind of a 50/50 ? anyways she's not much of a problem since these 50/50s that happen with her are very situational.
