Yea, that was disappointing to say at least. First thing after downloading update I went on a trip around menu and went to tutorial section. I was like yea, finally some nice spot to check out different killers and survivors, their perks, learn proper flashlight timing and stuff.
NOPE, it's just Chuck Testa
Seriously, I don't see any reason for even beginners to play vs bots in this state unless you're about to become dunno, Trapper main. But then again, playstyles will change depending on perks and items which survivor bring to real match.
Tbh there is no reason to try out new techs/mechanics untill MMR goes live and you get to learn each killer individually against newbies and not getting stomped into the ground by high ranks (unless you're tilt proof and enjoy it you masochist)
-
Unless you're good nurse majority of those doors are terrible for killer. Only on "The Game" they're pain in the butt for the survivors I think as there are few dead ends.
Overall yea, as most players already said, idea itself isn't bad, but on most maps those doors just feel forced and unnecessary

Twins counter play involves an in sync group really. Basically travel in 2s for the kick and pick up..Stay healthy. And if you're the one that gets pounced. Kidnap him and let him die naturally and hope charolette comes for you(if you're confident enough) Because that means you're looping a 4.6 with nothing to help in chase. No speed boost, no snares/traps. I think victor stays on you for 40 seconds ? Or 30..But if you constantly kidnap him. It adds up and helps a lot. Compared to crushing him ASAP. And victor just comes right back. Making twins pretty strong. Also..No because you can just do one of the other 2 gens available if you're down to the last one.
Thanks for tips.
While mentioning holding game hostage I meant blocking two gates, I gave the example of her body blocking gen just for well, example :p

Isn’t there gens on that map that are bugged too? A 3 person gen can only be repaired by 1 survivor. I have seen this bug multiple times on those maps.
True, pretty often on corn field map too if I recall correctly

What was the point of them before the change? What benefits did you have with the old Mori's.
Oh come on, benefit with old mori was visible on first glance. It wasn't exactly fair, nobody claimed that.
And the benefit was (drums) ending game faster.
Once again, it wasn't fair. I personally used them only when I had archieve/daily quest with killing by hand, or was frustrated by frequent teabagging or being placed against much higher ranks than I was.
And again, I'm not saying anything about bringing old mori back. But keeping them in this state as an offering is simply stupid. Maybe if grinding wasn't so long and boring I'd consider picking moris just for the fun of watching that animation. But imo almost always it'll be better to bring some BP offering, unless you have unlocked everything you needed on other characters.

I'd say it's still good to have as an offering. Just look at how good Pyramid Heads final judgement is. Avoiding that late DS is pretty big.
Are there really a lot of people waiting on purpose with DS to 2nd hook tho? Especially when they can see killer bringing mori with them? I'm not 1000h pro dbd player, but I don't think his Final Judgement is that good. It requires particular condition to be met, and then again, how many cases of DS after 2nd hook there are?

That was to give a point, not everything has to align with your original post. And if you have all the survivors with all their perks, what's the problem with swapping survivors if they're, and I quote, "Just reskins." I understand why you may not play Nurse (I know why, she's too hard to play for you) but if you never planned to use her, why try and get those items in the first place?
And bloodpoints aren't tied to a character because they're earned on an account, not a character. That's like asking, "Why can't I use Iridescent shards on the character I earned them with?" or "Why can't I only spend Auric Cells on the character I had equipped when I bought them?"
Here's a good example:
You can give money to people. They get their own stuff with the money. Another person they don't know also receives money from you. Why would they share those items they bought?
Yea, they're just reskins. As I said, I put quite a lot of BP's into characters I'm not gonna play, be it I don't like their appearance or in terms of killers I don't like their playstyle or as you claimed, being too hard to learn. Not gonna disagree, Nurse is pretty hard, and in DBD as it is now it's not really pleasant to try to learn her is it? With all that teabagging and sht going on.
You see, to get to higher levels with character you kinda need to grab more or less useless things on way in bloodweb too. And as I said, earlier, I've put BP just to get shared perks.
And there you completely missed the point. I'm not about connecting BP's to particular character, as it would make grind even bigger hell, but to counter the argument about items not being shared. Why letting BP's be shared, but not items then yea?
In terms of this example, so you can give people money, but you can't give people items? Where's the logic in that reasoning honestly? And additionally following this, why would killers give money to survivors and vice versa?
-
@CashelP14 said:
Moris are only a cool killing animation.
Even though they were nerfed, it will still be the first thing people want to see when a killer is announced.
Yea I agree, but I'm talking about whether it's really necesary to have moris as offering, instead of some award for particular action or something. We already have tons of useless offerings in bloodwebs as it is imo, where most people play 100% BP or particular map offerings from time to time. 75% and 50% BP are basically played only if you don't have better options, if at all :p
-
@ZtarShot said:
Other offerings only change the game slightly/give bloodpoints, and now moris function the same.
And yes. The whole point is to level up those characters, not have a complete pool of items. Otherwise you could use all the items and bp offerings on the survivor and use that survivor because they could be low leveled or have a limited pool of perks. But if you have all the perks unlocked on every survivors, you may ask, then what's the point of not pooling. Why would you complain then?
My point is we all know how tiresome the grinding in this game is. I have most characters lvled up just to 40lvl so I have theirs sharable perks, but I'm rarely playing Nurse for example (let's guess why). So I put over 1kk bloodpoints just to have her perks, but could use her 100% BP Offerings for example, as they're not ever gonna be used at this point.
And why would it be bad if you had 1lvl character, but with all items? Survivors are basically just reskins anyways aren't they. Also if we're going by this logic, why aren't BP's connected to particular character you obtained them with? Second also, nowhere in my earlier post have I said anything about shared perks.

Well there's nothing that can really be done about tunneling and camping because most of the community doesn't have a complete consensus on what it is.
Is there are people who think pigs chasing them when they have a reverse bear trap on is tunneling.
There are people who think as long as decisive strike is still activated when they go down they were tunneled regardless of if the killer hooked other people or not.
If you want a changing to tunneling and camping make sure there is a consensus about what that actually is first because you can't have people calling tunneling in wishy-washy situations.
As for your protest let's call it that's not a good thing if you're actively planning on just ruining the fun of other people you're part of the problem not the solution.
Play better and make the game fun for the people you encounter when you are a killer if you make it actively worse then you're legitimately the problem regardless of your cause. However as long as you're not doing anything that is bannable you're free to do whatever you want
I suppose most people with common sense understand tunneling as being followed as soon as you're unhooked, and instead of choosing unhooker you focus plainly on unhooked, not minding body blocks or anything.
Oh come on, who still believes in doing good brings good back? I played as killer quite often to try to hook everyone twice, but let them escape and you won't guess how often I was met with teabagging at gates or toxicity in chat after game.
Imo a lot of DBD players are brain-dead toxic players with superiority complex. If giving them what they deserves hurts innocent ones in the process I suppose it will be necessary sacrifice.

It should happen, but never will. Look at every Fifa game they release each year. Each time there's some kind of huge outrage, yet it sells out like crazy. Everyone knows how disgustingly money hungry EA has become with all of their games, but people STILL buy into it. Ubisoft has began to do the exact same with Assassins Creed adding micro-transaction P2W into the single player aspect of the game. Activision has recently done it to Crash Bandicoots own team racing, a game that never had this crap back in PS1. And now BHVR seem to be following suit and becoming the next company to become so money hungry. It's the gaming industry in a nutshell at this point.
I suppose we can't really blame those devs for sucking their players wallets dry, if majority of those players are willing to waste their money whenever something new is released. Money is more important then happy fanbase, it's just disappointing that people still fall for the same thing over and over again, definition of insanity, wasn't it? Doing the same, but expecting different outcomes.

A few points, if I may:
- You cannot "strike" against the company unless you are in their employ. You are suggesting a boycott.
- We have all been where you are now, and somehow got through it.
- This is not an effective way of getting the company to listen to you. The "us versus them" mentality rarely goes well.
1. Yea, this is what I meant, I'm not native eng, but thanks, will remember :p
2. Yeah, but that's quite the point you see. Most of you have been there, many of you probably still are and you're taking whatever devs throw at you without a grunt or anything? Not doing anything and accepting things as they are aren't gonna do much either don't you think?
3. Perhaps, but I didn't receive any alternative in that term. Are you suggesting that every boycott/strike in history was useless? Isn't boycott some sort of entry to revolts and so?

I've noticed that tunnelling is much more frequent the last few days. Played against a Doctor who would only facecamp and tunnel once someone went for the unhook and managed to get a 2k because of NOED. Dude was on azarov's too with pretty bad pallet RNG for us, he definitely could've killed us all if he actually played the game. Killers are getting weirder man. I haven't played much killer recently but I've never felt it necessary to go these lengths to not play the game, but hey, whatever floats their boat I guess. DS and soul guard exist for a reason, and with the new wglf getting people up off the ground safely is quite easy now.
Soul guard is from paid dlc though, isn't it? So unless it appears in shrine I doubt I'll have opportunity to get it other way. Also it's quite situational perk, if killer isn't playing hex you're basically wasting perk slot, isn't it?
-
I would love to see this, but I doubt people will. It's kinda same as with new iPhones, it's usually not worth the money, but people wanna flex on others, so will buy it anyways. So people will keep on buying rifts and skins just to show how different/better they are. And watching forum right now, seeing people crying about price of skins or not getting refunds instead of addressing actual problems is making me sad.

Okay about your point on the naming/shaming rule; this isn't the right place to report someone so you just posting footage of them, when other people can have that same name and receive unfair harassment, under the name of a report even though this isn't the place to report then you deserve the warning for breaking that rule. For example Orion is a very popular name; @Orion on the forums shouldn't receive harassment because you faced a hacker called Orion that isn't them.
Do it through the proper channels if you want action to be taken. I hate EAC more than the average person but at least report people properly if you want them banned. @BigBrainMegMain is proof that the system works.
As I said, I've sent ticket with full explanation and video proof. Some time earlier too, to both I've only received mail as below:

Also considering chat and what mr haxor said he has been reported repeatedly, without any punishment, so it's hard for me to believe the system works. Plus as I said earlier, none feedback in terms of what action were taken in cases reported by me. Ok, I'm taking on me this most recent one, as it was sent few days ago, but there was another one sent much earlier, to which i didn't get any info either.

generally its actually very hindering for the killer to facecamp first hook especially, You can burn though almost every gen by the time they die on that hook, However alot of players are dumb and will just sit waiting to save instead of doing gens effectively making this strategy work, so ya the killer gets one kill but if you rush all the gens and get out by the time they die then who cares move on, stop being dumb about it and rush the gens. Facecamping is a bad strategy but dumb survs make it a good one. and while i do hate facecamping myself if the devs truely wanna fix the issue then they would make it so that you lose bps per 10 secs around the hook instead of rank points because noone really gives a ######### about their rank but they sure as well do about their bps
I agree that the only counter to face camping Bubba is to do gens instead of trying to save camped one, but again, facecamping completely removes that one's guy any possibility to play the game. And I still stand my point that calling facecamping legit strategy is ridiculous (other than in EGC, what I mentioned earlier or some survivor bm'd hard and you want to release your frustration on him for that or something). Worst case for face-camper is securing only one kill. But why should he care, he managed to kill someone, so he technically won against that guy right?
Imo playing to win by all means mentality is what leads to such sweaty/bad "tactics". There isn't actually any reward to tryhard and climb the ranking ladder other than steam achievement and ranks honestly in such matchmaking's state mean nothing (I had like 6-7rank playing very casually as survs, for killers it's bit harder to pip I think (I may be wrong) but I still was 8 or so without long grinding). I honestly don't understand what is there to enjoy, when what you do all game is sitting next to hooked guy and play waiting simulator. Where is the fun of mind games, chasing, ambushing and all well, actually playing game?

it would be a 4th gen and half of the 5th or 4.5 gens ideally(Not counting great skill check bonus progression or time taken to run between gens or the time to realize its a face camp)
So if the person who got camped looped for .5+ of a gen time(Not hard for anyone who isn't boosted in high greens/low purples or above) then all other survivors should theoretically complete all gens before he gets fully sacrificed.
Ok, my bad for not taking great skill checks into consideration, let's say the time spent looking for gens nullifies those. From wiki, 3 people working on one gen without Prove Thyself or boxes would take ~38.1 seconds. Still, we're talking about best case scenario, not the more probable get to gen, do bones, check chests etc. case. Ofc it depends on how long the potentially facecamped guy can loop killer tho.

I'm done. Camping is a legit tactic that hurts the killer; the secure 1 kill and give up 3-5 generators. Boo hoo if it happens to you, me, or anyone else; that's how PvP games go.
No, the Killer should not be punished for playing a LEGIT (if bad) tactic.
Yes, Survivors should get some sort of BP for 'distracting' the Killer, to reduce the sting of being camped to death.
Punishing the Killer is as unfair as being the one camped, because sometimes camping is the right play.
I'm done replying. I've said, multiple times, why punishing camping is bad.
Also quick maths as stated on DBD wiki:
Solo gen - 80sec (without TB)
Being hooked - 60 sec each phase (120 sec total)
So at best we're having 3 people capable of doing gens. Let's consider best case scenario, which is all 3 standing at gens at the moment of 4th guy being hooked. You're getting full 3 gens, and 40sec left. Again, best case, during those 40sec you all meet at 4th gen, take into consideration time needed to get to that gen. At very best you're having 4gens done by the moment camped one dies. But let's be real, it's rarely gonna best case. More probably some survs will check whether it's possible to save that guy, spend time on looking for gens and such.

The only legit , explainable use for camping is EGC, when you know there is no point attempting chase at this moment without certainty of downing some1 additional. Somewhere in older threads there was done math about how many gens at best may be done during full face-camp, and it was nowhere close to 5gens.
Dude again, if there is some ######### play that prevents someone from playing you'd think about ways to prevent people from that, and only way I see is to punish them somehow. If you play CS and someone is teamkilling they're kicked out of match or punished some other way to prevent people from doing it intentionally. And not leave it the way it is just because "that's how PvP games work".
At least we can agree about something for the camped one, which is nice.

It's spiteful because the only reason you want campers to lose BP is because you hate camping. It's not balance. It's purely a 'punish what I don't like' idea.
No.
Still I think we have misunderstanding. We're not trying to punish something because I personally don't like it, but because facecamping literally prevents 1 guy from playing the game. And don't start with the PUBG bs, they're two different games, with completely different mechanics and playstyles. You may literally join next PUBG match in seconds, few minutes tops as soon as you die. In DBD you w8 bit longer than that for match.
So yea, main idea would be to at least give any slight chance to that facecamped guy to survive rather than play "watch beautiful scenery of basement with ya boi Bubba" till you die by giving some punishment so it's not worth doing. If not for the mentality of camped guys that attempt to at least struggle during that phase to buy other survivors some time you would probably see those camping Bubbas more often.
Again, I'm playing killers mostly, but imo it just ruins fun for that facecamped guy. Is it really better to win by facecamping than actually play the game?

Survivors stand OUTSIDE THE CAMPING RANGE and in plain view. In this way, the Killer either has to 'camp', and thus lose BP, or chase 1 Survivor and allow a free unhook.
Again; no. Asking for a BP loss punishment is supreme spite.
At this point I'm getting tired of repeating myself :p I wrote about possible counter to this, which would be simply looking at other survivor (in your examples, the teabagging one), even if he was standing way outside the radius, or looking in direction of that survivor, but to some range (sorta the way Spine chill works) in case survivors attempted to hide out of view behind obstacles or so.
Dunno really why you consider BP penalties spitefull either, facecamping Bubba will run out of add-ons eventually this way.

But BP is more important than match speed. Matches end no matter what, but BP is used to buy crap in the bloodweb.
No. I vehemently disagree with any sort of BP-punishment mechanic that players can abuse.
BP loss should stay in the realm of DCers. Nowhere else.
I still see no way of abusing it given solutions above. You're not losing BP as killer when other survivor is in campable area, nor when killer is in a chase, or simply looks at other survivor (they have mechanic based on such thing, I mean looking at Ghost face to reveal him, if it was done properly the other way).
But I think there is nothing else to add, so I guess we can agree at least on some way to lessen the pain of camped ones, be it additional BPs for "distracting" or something.

Except Survivors can do the exact same thing; camp 50 meters outside of the Killer's reach & the hook, and force the Killer to lose BP or walk away & give a free unhook.
All you did was change the punishment. Now Survivors would force the Killer to lose BP while they twerk in plain sight. Toxic Survivors would LOVE for a way to actually take BP from the Killer.
No.
Just give the hooked guy some BP to take the sting out of being camped. There's 0 reason to punish Killers, other than spite.
I mean, I'm mostly playing killers anyways so it's not really a bother to me. I have something around 200h or so at game so I'm not expert at either, it's just my thought.
Ok, BUT again, when it was all about slowing down hooking progress back then, which could impact gameplay actually by giving survivors real advantage during match by allowing 4th guy to do gens effortlessly, now at worst it would take BPs instead.
For example, I hooked guy, I see another somewhere far, I may head for him (which well, considering I'm not about to camp would do anyways, I mean looking for other survivors) expecting sooner or later some1 will try to rescue the hooked guy. If I see some1 attempting rescue, I head back to either hit the rescuer, or worst case be called tunneler for hitting rescued guy if saviour didn't have BT. WITHOUT BP PENALTY because other survivor was in "campable" radius, so the timer for BP penalty stopped. Same for being in chase, survivors aren't really gaining anything additional.
Also coming back to Bubba, is there really any reason for Insidious perk to be in-game? Are there any other uses apart from camping for that perk?
-
@Hex_Generator said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1344502#Comment_1344502
It would be abused.
Back in early DBD, there WAS a punishment: If the Killer was in <x> distance of the hook and not in a chase, the Struggle Meter went slower. This gave Survivors more time to pop gens.
Know what Survivors did? Two stood out in the open. far enough away that the Killer could not start a chase as the game considered it (no chase music cues). Far enough away that the Killer would not fake a chase & then turn back. The fourth did gens with bonus time.
The Killer either had to commit to the camp, which punished him by progressing slower, while the Survivors tea-bagged in front of him, or he had to commit to 1 chase, which let the OTHER Survivor go for the unhook.
So the Killer was punished or had to give a free unhook. This is EXACTLY why I say camping punishments are BS, and those asking for them do not care about the Killer's experience. Because it was tried, and Survivors abused it to hell and back.
Yeah, I know, I've read few threads about camping because well, it comes up often.
That is different scenario though, in that case killers were punished for camping when giving them clear opportunity to abuse it. (Benefit for hanged survivor)
I'm suggesting something along: when survivors are near hooked guy, X meteres, killer is not punished with -BPs. And the loss doesn't trigger as soon as survivor leaves hooked guy area obviously, killer would need time to leave it aswell, otherwise he would lose BPs every time he hooks someone, because he didn't teleport instantly out of range, that's why I suggested timer for that, dunno, 10sec or so. Worst case is killer will be patrolling hooked guy every ten seconds.
I don't see yet ways to abuse it by survivors, we're not giving survivors any benefit in return, just punishment for killer's BPs.
Or yeah, as you mentioned, maybe simply giving something to the camped guy, but not in terms of played match, but after match, be it bonus BP for each X seconds killer spent camping you (there is already "distraction" action that grants BP, it could be that for example) or some bonus to not depip.
-

That wouldn't solve any issues and is purely spiteful.
BP loss won't deter people anyways sense they give up most sacrifice points to face camp(Remember 3 hooking survivors gives around 1/3 - 1/2 the total sacrifice BP).
Secondly survivors who swarm the hook will force the BP loss despite the killer doing nothing wrong(Even to the game's emblems if the killer is chasing survivors around the hook the camping penalty is more or less non existent).
Yea, as I said it isn't long term solution.
Ok, they get 1/3, maybe 2/3 sacrifice points considering they'll probably be hanged once or twice, but you still have 3 other categories to farm on.
And about last point, that's what I meant by saying "if killer is within X meteres radius of hooked person and no other survivor is in it". So if survivors are near proximity of hanged one, and killer gets here he's not losing BPs for the time being.

Ok then. How would you change camping? Keep in mind, that there WAS a camping punishment, and Survivors abused it for free unhooks. The Killer is supposed to be able to confirm kills, but because Survivors don't want to die, it's unfair.
Nevermind that a Killer who facecamps for 2 minutes has basically thrown the match of the other 3 Survivors have ANY brains. But for that ONE Survivor, it's 'unfair'.
Nevermind that any mechanic put in place to deny the Killer a kill (his objective) would be unfair for the KILLER. That's not a problem. So long as the SURVIVORS are happy, who care about Killers, right? They're not allowed to get a kill if a Survivor thinks it's an 'unfair' kill. Even if that means 'Too early/fast' or 'Tunneled me' or 'used a bad Killer/perk/map'. Those are all UNFAIR, and only the Survivor's fun matters.
For starters imo least Devs could do would be increasing values of BP loss for camping. And simply do it like it was suggested with some other methods already, if killer is within X meteres radius of hooked person and no other survivor is in it or so killer is actually losing legit amount of BPs per Y sec of camping from summarised BPs after match, and not like 100BPs(yea, I'm overexaggerating, I don't know the exact numbers but they're ridiculously low) in only one category. Maybe if camping guy finishes game with 0BPs he'll consider well, not doing it.
Of course there will be people who don't give a damn about BPs, but as I said, that's a start.

Isn't there a way they could just have flagged reports save a recording of the game and have a human review it?
I've been reading forum threads for a while but I haven't written anything yet.
Considering team who is responsible for sorting through reports is proportionally too small to take actions relatively quickly maybe volunteers could get some sort of looking into reports?
I mean League of Legends had its "Tribunal" which was imo great idea, but probably turned bad because they were offering a reward for those volunteers so plenty of those weren't even looking into the reports but skip through just to get some in-game points or so.
If you did the same, but tried to improve their system a bit (like dunno, timer before going to check next case to prevent brainless skipping, or as I mentioned earlier no in-game rewards or small enough that it wouldn't be worth for people to go farming for) maybe it could ease work of your team.
Thanks for coming to my Ted talk, I'd like to thank my parents for believing in me and so.
