To me it's a tie between Huntress and Clown. They actually have some similar ones, like inflicting exhaustion, enabling 1-hit KO, revealing auras or slowing down the survivors. It's not just numbers changing and I like that.
Hag, Wraith and Trapper also have some interesting ones.
And it'd be nice to see some changes regarding the chainsaw bros and their add-ons.
-
It saved my life on countless occasions. Even though dedicated servers screwed it up, it's still useful. Lithe is a close second though.
I don't like the rest of them very much because they feel way too situational for me.
Also, Lithe appears twice in the options.
-
While I'm still learning Oni, I find him much more entertaining and rewarding than the Hillbilly... I simply suck with the chainsaw.
-
I wouldn't keep on playing if it was below 6. The concept is great, yes there are flaws here and there, but every online game has its fair share of problems/issues. I don't regret purchasing DbD, and it probably was the game I played the most in 2019.
-
Well this is the case for most licensed survivors. Ash doesn't look that bad, to be honest. Not good either, but it could be much worse.
I wish, however, that there were some changes on face expressions when a survivor is on the hook, downed or being affected by the killer's power. I agree that Ash having a big smirk while he's slowly dying on a sacrificial hook is dumb... something similar happens with the always-happy Ace.
But I guess there are other pressing matters that need urgent solving before we can see something like new face reworks or different expressions for each survivor.
-
I never used the Shrine, and the Bloodpoints trade-off is not worth it imo.
I buy all non-licensed characters, starting with Killers (finally got the Oni a couple of weeks ago) and then I'll get the survivors. When I have no more characters left to buy I'll probably just go for cosmetics.
-
How about you learn how to adapt to a change and how to respect others' opinions?
Don't be Hex: Childish.
-
Definitely Kate, however some Feng skins look really good too, I just don't really like her base skin that much.
-
I really like playing as both of them, but I always have more success with the Doctor. He was kinda my main when I started playing Killer because I loved to find survivors wanting to hide from me without knowing they were going up against a Doc. Stealth is not a good option with him.
I really like Clown too, but I feel he's not as good as him, at least right now. We'll have to see in which direction will the Doctor go with his rework.
Also it's true that both depend too much on add-ons to be an actual threat to skilled survivors, which is kinda sad.
-
This and anything that gives me incentive to keep playing. Objectives. Something to look forward to. The Archives were a good start, so are the rituals, but I feel something else would help a lot. And rank rewards would be a great path to follow.
-
You'll see it with nearly every Killer you come across and with good reason.
Instead they should buff perks like Surge so there are some alternatives for slowing gen progress.
-
Ace was the only survivor I bought with shards. Since I've started playing, I've used my shards to buy Killers, because not only they bring new perks to the table, but also new gameplay elements.
First killer I purchased with shards was the Doctor. I also bought nearly every non-licensed killer with shards, except for Legion because I bought the DLC while it was on sale.
I never used Auric Cells.
-
I'd play a lot more if the waiting times were shorter. Honestly, games don't last as long as lobby waiting.
Then again, it doesn't happen everyday. It depends on time of the day, your rank and if a rank reset is about to happen or just happened. And yes, normally survivors don't have to wait as much, but every now and then I happen to get instant killer lobbies while survivor takes forever, specially if I'm in a group.
-
I think base Ghostface is better than base Myers, but regarding add-ons, perks and strategies, Myers is way better.
-
I only ragequitted once and I still regret it:
A Plague was tunneling me and I simply was not having a good day prior to that. That felt like the last thing I needed, so after someone unhooked me and she downed me again in, like, 10 seconds, I quitted. Just for the record, I don't consider tunneling a toxic attitude, that's why I chose "other reasons".
I've never DC'd from a match since then. It's dumb and it only hurts your teammates. And if the killer is being toxic, then it's kinda a win for him too.
Simple lesson learned: Don't play a competitive game if you're having a bad day.
-
Left 4 Dead, although being a game that doesn't focus too much on the story, taught me that Bill is one tough sonuva who's willing to risk his life if that meant his friends could escape from danger, and at the same time he's pretty strong so he wouldn't go down easy.
He's the good old "No one gets left behind. Not on my watch".
David and Claudette would be good options too.
-
And I'd probably die on my first hook.
-
It sucks and all, but wrong section bud.
-
I'll wait until I see the rewards. I didn't buy this one because there wasn't anything particularly interesting to me.
-
I'd like to see this. I always thought an Alien chapter would never have a chance in DbD... until the Demogorgon came out. So who knows? ;)
-
With what he's given it's more than enough for one match.
Also Myers can already be OP with the use of his mori/red add-ons.
-
His short lunge is the way to balance the fact that he has such a small terror radius. The more Tiers you go up, the bigger your TR becomes, but it also increases your lunge. Also, as stated above, Myers in T3 has an insane lunge range, the longest one so far.
Where did you get that Leatherface's lunge range is short? He's the same as the rest.
And just for the record, Myers in T2 has a normal lunge like all killers. So your complaints are based on solely T1, which is a level meant to be used with stealth strategies in mind, and most Myers go quickly from T1 to T2 in the early game, so...
Final note, I think he's good in terms of balance. There are other killers in need of a buff and Mikey boy is certainly not one of them, in my opinion.
-
The Doctor. It would also be a good incentive to try out his future rework.
By the way, licensed characters most likely won't be getting a tome, ever. One, because of copyright reasons, and two, if you want to know more about them you can always go watch the movies.
With all that being said, I agree with what's been said that it's either gonna be the Hillbilly or Wraith in the next tome. My money's on Wraith.
-
I'm struggling with some challenges, also I'm not playing as much as before, so I'm not sure how much more progress I'll be able to make in the remaining time. I'm at 38 btw.
-
Progress is real slow when you can't nail some challenges + not playing as much as before. This last one is because of waiting times.
-
I know there's copyright stuff involved, but imo Tapp doesn't look like the real one at all. So I wouldn't mind a complete overhaul of his face.
I'm now used to how Laurie looks, I don't mind Ash and I don't particularly care for Quentin.
-
Either this, getting early DCs (before a gen even gets finished) or BABY DWIGHT ALERT are the only instances where I give hatch.
Otherwise, I'll do my best to sacrifice the last one and prevent a hatch escape. If they did in fact played well, they shouldn't be that upset to die since they're probably going to pip anyway.
-
As it is now, it's not a very good perk. Reworking it like this would probably help it quite a bit, so it'd work as long as you can down someone by whatever means neccesary, be it chainsaw, shred, pig dash, corrupt purge, etc.
The only exception would be when a survivor gets downed far away from you, like 32 meters (regular TR). For example: Lucky/pro hatchet throw from the Huntress from really far away, insta-down Trapper's traps, not mending (extremely rare but it still counts), etc. It shouldn't activate on those occasions. So it'd work as long as the survivor gets downed near you.
-
Blinking sounds like a massive pain for her.
I also thought about the Clown, with his constant coughing and stuff. I mean sure, he seems to be inmune to his own tonics, but what if it's slowly affecting him? Not to mention he used to have a not-so-healthy lifestyle before being recruited by the Entity. I dunno, he seems like a possible choice too.
-
It'd probably be a mess.
-
Unless I have that "silent phantasm traps" add-on with the Hag, I usually prefer the Trapper. To me, he feels more effective and applies more pressure than the Hag in certain situations. Survivors will have to think twice or even completely abandon a possible good loop location just because of the thought of a bear trap being over there. Also, I can't stand Hag's 110% movement speed when in a chase. Should it happen you're chasing someone somewhere where you have no traps, then it could be a really, REALLY long chase until you either gain bloodlust or get lucky (I'm referring to high ranks). Maybe it's best to not chase someone in a situation like that, but it hurts more than it helps. Again, this is just in my experience.
Trapper has his problems too, but I find him much more entertaining to play, and in some cases, more rewarding than the Hag.

@TheRockstarKnight said:
Old Tinkerer could be very strong and was an interesting idea, but if the devs wanted it gone to make addons easier to manage then the devs wanted it gone. That's fine.
New Tinkerer though just kinda sucks. It doesn't remove your Red Stain last I checked and unless you're playing Hillbilly or Spirit it gives you information that you can't reliably use.
If I run Tinkerer as Trapper I can't exactly just sprint to a gen and stop Survivors from working on it, and it's stealth aspect is pointless because my Red Stain still exists.
And if you ARE playing Hillbilly or Spirit running Tinkerer it still doesn't necessarily help you stop them from doing the gen anyway or make it any more possible to sneak up on them.
Outside of meme builds, baby Hillbillies, and Adept Hillbilly, nobody runs it because it just doesn't really do anything.
Yeah, I can see what you're saying. Even if you are using a Killer with good mobility, that doesn't mean the perk's gonna help much.
I honestly don't use Tinkerer that much so I'm curious about the different perspectives the community has about this perk.
Also, I think the part of not removing the Red Stain is what essentially kills the purpose of this perk, or at least that's what it looks like to me.
-
So where are my poll options
-
Myers, because he's one of the three gods of jumpscares in the game, also because he seems to have some sort of strange invincibility against almost anything, and finally because he's stealthy, quiet and doesn't need to talk at all. Being tall is also a nice plus.
-
Just a Resident Evil killer would be fine by me, the survivors not so much (maybe in a cosmetic way). And I'd prefer Nemesis instead of Mr. X.
-
However I still think being Killer can be a bit stressful cause if you mess up, no one can make up for your mistakes except you. You may have bad luck at some survivor matches but at least there's a team backing you up, specially if it's with friends.
-
Yes, because struggling in the hook takes time and your keyboard or joystick will not thank you in the long run for constantly mashing it up.
However I don't mind the wiggle while trying to escape the killer's grasp being two buttons (A+D in keyboard, dunno about console), because it usually doesn't take too much time, and sometimes wiggling is not even necessary when there's a hook right in front of the killer.
-
It's fine as it is. 60 seconds at level 3 is more than fair considering that you can only activate it once per trial.
-
Good ol' desktop pc. I probably would suck a lot with console, specifically with the mouse --> joystick transition.
-
Sure, why not? It gives another incentive to prestige besides the bloody skins and the "higher chance of rare items". Oh, and the achievement for each first time, if anyone cares about that.
-
Any Legion member except Frank. Probably because those other three, while perfectly capable of killing someone, don't really want to do it, but they can't go against Frank. At least that's what it seems to me.
I also thought of the Huntress as a second option. The rest of them I think would probably butcher me no matter what I said.

What do you mean?
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/340/SSXG1BKYUQ3F.png
It shows two choices for me.
I think he means that a second objective should be implemented in-game so gens aren't the only mandatory thing needed to escape.
Regarding the poll, I play both sides and it's true that gens can pop at a pretty crazy speed if the team knows what to do, even more if there are toolboxes and perks involved. The more I play, the more I understand why nearly every killer runs Ruin. Sure, pros do gens anyway even if it's active, but it's still a bit slower even if they do hit every single great skill check, cause no additional progress is rewarded... and should it happen someone starts looking for the Hex and proceeds to try and break it, then that's one person not doing a gen, and in high ranks that could mean a lot.
So yes, I believe gens have been and still are being done at insane speeds. Killers who lack map pressure will struggle to keep them from popping even if they have counterperks, because at the end of the day, it's 4 vs 1. Ultimately it comes down to how good the killer and the survivors are.
I don't know if reducing the overall time needed to complete could just be the solution, maybe as said above: A secondary objective is what the game needs to avoid this. A mandatory one, of course. But that could heavily impact the core gameplay of DbD, so I don't know. But I do know that a lot of people (specially survivor mains) don't want changes regarding the speed of gens. So we'll see if the devs decide to implement a change or not.
TL;DR: Gen Speeds are fast / The more I play both sides, the more I understand the constant use of Ruin/ A change should be implemented but I'm not sure what specifically.

While both chainsaw bois need some add-on tweak, Cannibal needs it more urgently.
Legion too, but I doubt it'll be soon because of their recent rework.
Finally, with the Pig, I'd like for Rules Set no 2 to be a base thing of her, so she can get a new red add-on. RBT aren't very big threats as of now, and that base change with the Rules add-on could maybe help a little with the pressure.
-
She's still good. Granted, not as good and godly as before, but still a viable pick. I still see people kicking ass with her in high ranks.
The problem is, some people relied too much on her add-ons. And I've seen my fair share of Nurses demolishing teams with brown or no add-ons at all. That's one reason on why some people (not ALL, chill) bash on her new gameplay style so much. I bet that if she only had the blink cooldown tweak and no rework to her add-ons, everyone would still see her as the best killer.
-
None. Mostly for the same reasons ShrekIsHot listed above.
I do like the idea of some negative effects applied on survivors who scare crows, though... it's just that luck doesn't meant squat as of now, and aura reading is very situational.
-
Legion is already a bad pick, and this makes it worse. It's a bye-bye for some decent perk combinations they had.
However, not every change on them was actually a nerf. Some of their add-ons are actually a lot better now, and the vault speed with frenzy is a bit faster. It's sort of like a couple of bad and good things mixed. I do agree that it leans more towards a nerf than a buff, just wanted to point out it wasn't a complete nerf.
There also seems to be plans for the Doctor in the future. And the Cannibal's add-ons too. Hope it's not for the worst.
Also, I don't wanna say anything about the new perks just yet. I'll probably have an opinion on them when they go live. And I don't mind the changes regarding Balanced Landing and Kindred.
-
Just bring a medkit or search for one, there are other perks that can help you with that. Or ask your teammates to heal you. The game already offers a variety of ways to heal yourself up, and Self Care is not even that common now, people are leaning towards other "meta" perks.
Self Care is somewhat decent when paired up with Botany Knowledge, but that's 2 perks you're occupying just for the heals, so it may be a better option to just run Botany with a good medkit.
As a final note, you may not need to heal at all with some specific killers, or at least it wouldn't be very efficient to do so. Healing is important, yes, but it's not something that demands you to have Self Care in your loadout to do the job.
-
Can't really see any of FNAF characters as killers. They just don't fit, imo.
However, the idea of a pizzeria or a similar "used-to-be-happy" map is something I'd like to see.
-
I think most of my answers were either neutral or slightly satisfied, and a bunch of dissatisfied ones too.
My slight satisfaction overall answers come from the fact that this is a game that gets updated somewhat often, we get new content, bug fixes and cool new mechanics or gameplay changes that affect the experience.
Yes, it may not always be perfect, and it'll NEVER please everyone, but hey, they're still doing their best to polish the game and improve everything about it. That's not something I can say for every online game out there.
-
I would care about rank reset if there was some sort of reward to look forward to. I don't mind the idea of "seasons" and having different ranks on each one, but the system is somewhat flawed and it's not always fair. It needs a rework in some aspects.
So as of now, I'm somewhat neutral to them. Hopefully some changes arrive soon.
