Mostly rock/hard rock/grunge. I'm not a big fan of metal, though I enjoy some songs.
Some bands I really enjoy listening to: Queen, The Police, RHCP, Blink-182, Pearl Jam, Gorillaz, Kiss, The Cranberries, and many others.
-
Franklin's enough for me. If I don't have it on my current Killer, then I just go for it, however I keep track of the key user. I won't tunnel that survivor unless the hatch has already spawned or is about to spawn.
-
Objectively, I'd say the Nurse.
Subjectively, I'd go with the Spirit.
Because in my personal experience, I've had better luck juking good Nurses than good Spirits. Of course, in the end most of them got me sacrificed/killed anyway, but I honestly fear a good Spirit the most.
-
From Baby Dweets facing Nurses with Sharingan, to Expert Neon Nea against a Myers with 3.5 hours in the game. It's been a while since I've had a balanced match.
-
No, I don't think it would be a good idea. The map offerings are a decent way of "choosing" a Realm. Too bad you can't pick the specific variation you want though. I remember offerings like that existed a couple of years ago, but there are so many variations nowadays that it'd be an offering mess, so I'm ok with the current system: Either use an offering or be surprised.
-
I believe going for the Clown's perks first, and then going to Hillbilly would be a good approach. Of course it all boils down to what you play the most. I'd personally go with Clown because Pop is a great perk, and Bamboozle is good with some Killers.
P.S: I didn't read correctly. So, Coulrophobia is good with some specific builds... not a great perk on its own. Also has some good synergy with a bunch of Killers. I remember a really toxic but effective build with the Doctor, something involving Coulrophobia, Unnerving, Distressing and Overcharge, plus some add-ons. Add a 3 gen strat and it's hell for survivors. Can be a really long match too.
-
Wrong forum category, mate.
-
Extra BP is nice, but to me it's only noticeable when I pair it with a good offering or a Double BP event. So if the extra BP weren't there, I'd still use it with a bunch of Killers. Not a must-have perk, but still a really useful one.
-
I'm gonna go with Trapper on this one. Both can get a lot stronger with add-ons. Trapper is really good at negating loops, while Wraith is great at gen patrolling and tracking injured survivors. Likewise, Trapper doesn't have good map pressure, and Wraith can get hard looped even if he gets a first hit. All in all, I see the Trapper doing slightly better than the Wraith in terms of defending gens + killing survivors.
-
Because every other item is apparently a valid reason to get tunneled. You bring a Toolbox? Genrusher, you deserve to die! You bring a flashlight? You're probably going to taunt me, you'll die! You bring a map? You're a tryhard, get to the hook! You bring a key? You are probably a coward who plans to camp the hatch, so it was inevitable to kill you first!
And no, I'm not making this up, these are actual comments I got on my post-game lobby chat. At first I just ignored this, but the scenarios repeated and I got fed up with it.
I never got tunneled because of medkits though, and I use them a lot because I'm trying to avoid Self-Care. So you'll constantly see me with medkits, sometimes toolboxes (though not so much after the rework/nerf) or just nothing. I only bring a Rainbow Map when I'm in SWF and that's not very often.
By the way, I play both sides. If I see all 4 survivors with "threatening" items, well, Franklin's Demise, I choose you! And end of story.

If you willingly DC because "you aren't having fun", you deserve the punishment. Not only do you not get any points, but you ruin the game for 4 other people.
If you DC because of an actual emergency in real life, the penalty means nothing. Go do what you need to do.
If you crash, the time is barely, if at all, noticeable. By the time you load back in, it should be over.
If you crash every other match... I would get your internet or router checked. Happened to me a while back due to faulty wiring.
My thoughts exactly.
So, OP: Get over it, or play something else if it bothers you that much.

Yep, it's just like they said. I used to believe that if you failed the Skill Check, you could still activate it again later on. However, this happened because my timing was off: I did press spacebar, but the Skill Check had already ended miliseconds ago, therefore in my mind it was a miss, but in reality it's like I didn't even press anything, so later on when I got unhooked, DS activated again.
So in summary, if you press spacebar before you get to the white section, it's a miss, therefore it gets deactivated. And if you press it after the white section, then the Skill Check has technically already ended so it doesn't count as anything, and DS can be re-activated next time.
-
Basically what Fibijean said.
I see Spirit Fury as a reward for making Survivors drop pallets on you, same way it's sort of like a punishment for those who decide to waste most of the pallets too soon. It's a perk that requires both sides to take action, and breakable walls is a mechanic that only Killers can control.
-
I agree that a way to distinguish between crashes/bugs and someone purposefully leaving the match should be implemented, though I don't know how, or if it's even possible.
Until then, if the penalties arise from you having a bad connection, then... sorry, but it isn't really the system's fault. At least not yet.
I know it's easier said than done, but the solution would be to detect and fix your internet problems. Remember that even if it isn't technically your fault, the fact that you disconnect from a match affects the remaining players. Why should they pay the consequences of you having a bad connection if they do have a good connection? This is also another reason the system was implemented, not just for the rage-quitters, but also as a warning: If your internet has constant connection issues, you should stop playing for a while and try again some other time when your connection is more stable, or when the problems have been fixed.

I believe the following perks will help you lots if you prefer a more "solo" playstyle. I've been there and it sucks. So here goes:
Bond/Empathy: By seeing the auras of your teammates, you can choose with less hassle where to go or what to do. You can also use this to completely avoid them, and potentially avoid the Killer too.
Self-Care + Botany Knowledge: As stated above, if you want to priorize yourself above others, these 2 should come in handy. Pretty good if you don't have a med-kit on you.
Iron Will: Should it happen you're wounded but you don't wanna risk going to your teammates to be healed, this one is very useful. If you're a good looper, this will help you lose the Killer a lot.
Kindred: While you prefer a solo playstyle, there may be times when help from your teammates is absolutely necessary. If you get hooked and don't have Deliverance, then Kindred can help your team to organize a coordinated rescue. After you get off the hook, you can go back to being a lone wolf.
Decisive Strike: I see you don't have Laurie yet, so you might wanna buy her or wait for DS to be on the shrine. It's a great anti-tunneling perk and it can save you a lot.
Deliverance: You might wanna get Adam too, and you can even buy him with shards if you don't want to spend money. Deliverance is the best "F*ck it, I'll do it myself" perk. The trade-off is that you have to make a hook rescue before you can use it, and if you don't do it or you are the one who gets first hook, it goes to waste. Nevertheless, it's another perk that can save you in dire situations. Pair it with Iron Will so the Killer can't find you while you wait for the Broken status to go away, then heal and carry on.
Finally, there are some situational perks that are not bad for solo playstyle but aren't exactly mandatory: Lithe, Unbreakable, Dead Hard, Sprint Burst, Adrenaline, Spine Chill and Left Behind.

Please don't use the Polls section for personal ranting.
Also, yes, camping is stupid and doesn't require skill at all, yet it's still a strategy. This is an asymmetrical game, so expect to see things like these often.
-
If I understand correctly, you're talking about a very specific situation where you get hooked at the same time your wiggle far is full/you hit the DS skill check but it doesn't work because the hook was practically in front of the killer.
So, first, about the wiggle: No. If the bar isn't full, you shouldn't be getting off. If it really bothers you that much, use perks that can help you with wiggling. Also, escaping the Killer's grasp by wiggling is rare, as it would require coordination with some requirements: Where were you downed? Have the hooks in that area been sabotaged? Are you using perks to help you with that? Are your teammates planning to take a hit for you or use a flashlight to try and save you? So yeah, most of the time: if you go down, you get the hook.
Second, about the DS being cancelled because you got downed right in front of a hook... well, I have mixed feelings about this. I mean, it shouldn't be like that... if you have DS ready and you get picked up, as long as you hit the skill check, it should ALWAYS work. On the other hand, if you are running Decisive and you're about to get downed, you should keep a minimum distance from hooks to avoid that situation. Tho this can still happen in dire situations and I agree it feels annoying/cheap. IMO, the skill check should appear at the exact same moment when the Killer begins to pick you up, and not when you're pretty much already in their shoulders.
So my final answer is a mix of yes and no, if I understood correctly what you asked.
-
I'd say Green is the middle ground, you can have a really hard one match and an extremely easy one the next. It's a mixed bag, so I don't count Green as low or high, just mid or something like that. I agree with the rest.
-
It'd be scarier, I'll give you that. But it would also make everything extremely more difficult, also unbalanced. Stealth killers would be unstoppable.
-
Change "today" to "a few months ago" in my case. I think I might have heard about him in a context other than DbD, but never searched or asked anything about him. I get the feeling that I saw parodies of him in cartoons or movies, but never knew he had a name or that he was iconic. I now know his name because of the speculation going on in the forums for years now.
So I don't really care if he gets added or not, I know nothing about him and frankly I don't feel like researching about his story either.
-
Has the potential to make some sick plays. Yet, at the same time, good loopers can run him around for minutes. Not to mention that you need to have a decent aim for your power to shine. Also hitboxes.
But overall, he doesn't seem to bad. Aesthetically he looks great. He's not gamebreaking, but he doesn't seem to be terrible either. Time will tell, maybe I'm judging too soon, I haven't even played as him yet.
-
It really makes me nervous, being chased by a guy who can either 1-hit you or Mori you in a matter of seconds. The music is the icing on the cake.
-
So far, so good.
-
I've experienced some random bugs but only in the menus. Nothing ever kicked me out of a game, 'cept for my own internet at times. I also don't DC from a match unless there's an emergency, so the disconnection penalties will most likely not affect me unless my internet acts up (and if that happens, I'll just abstain from playing until my connection is stable again).
-
I'd probably have chosen 'Derank by one colour' if rank actually meant something besides deciding who you're going to get matched with. Or, you know, if there were any kind of rank rewards.
-
He's good... not extremely good, but definitely not bad either. Definitely better than Wraith and Pig in terms of stealth.
Knowing that you're up against a Ghostface can really keep the pressure on when you're doing gens.
I agree however that most people that play as him don't use him correctly. Usually when a Ghostface hooks me, they run away to look for another survivor while activating Night Shroud. So I deactivate his power by looking at him from the hook. Big brain Ghostface.
And the genrush applies for nearly every Killer as the game is now. Maybe Hillbilly, Nurse and Spirit can handle it a bit better, but they better be good at chases, otherwise those gens are going to pop fast.
But yeh, I don't think he sucks at all. He has the potential to be a good Killer. It's the players who decide how much of that potential is going to be milked.
-
Yeah. And I honestly didn't know when it was disabled, I thought it was on all this time.
But yes, people who ragequit should be punished for it. No "buts".
If you have internet problems, then... it's not really the game's fault, so if a player's connection is really THAT bad, they shouldn't be playing in the first place, because it's a game where you cannot return once you're out, and you're ruining the experience for the rest by deciding to play anyway, even though you know your connection sucks and you could get disconnected at any moment.
And I've yet to encounter a "bug" that kicks me from a game. 600 hours and I've never seen that happen, yet people mention it all the time. The closest thing I can think of is when people get stuck in the loading screen... but even then, if that happens, then the game gets cancelled anyway as soon as it starts. Also there's no official confirmation that the infinite loading screen is a bug, it could be the result of a crappy internet connection, since it usually only happens to 1 of the 5 players, and it's still a rare sight. At least on my experience.
TL;DR: Good punishment for ragequitters / If your internet sucks, abstain from playing or fix it somehow before going into a game / I've never seen a bug that forces you out of the game.
-
I wish he was better.
Also, almost every Clown I've went against was either a camper or a troll. Probably because people regret choosing him after 1 gen gets done, so they try to ruin the game for everyone.

There isn't a clear-cut yes or no answer to this question. I wish you added a "Kind of" answer.
This.
I feel there's only a portion of the fanbase involved in changes. I know you can't please everyone with every update, there's always going to be someone displeased. However, I believe the changes related to "listening to the community" are more aimed to less experienced players/new players.
Ruin is proof of that, most """pros""" or veterans said they had no trouble getting through the great skill checks or just looking for the totem, but the complaints mostly came from low ranks or people with not enough experience or time in the game. Hence Ruin got reworked and is now a completely different perk. Less annoying for survivors? Yes, maybe. But it doesn't have the same impact, and it's waaay less of a threat.
This is not always the case of course, but most of the time, changes seem to be more in favor of people who haven't played the game as much as others have.
So my final answer is a mix of yes and no.
-
You can have some mad skills and run some interesting builds, but if you lack personality, you'll probably be forgotten in a short period of time.
I mainly watch Bricky, even though he's not into DbD as much as he was before, but he's entertaining to watch. He's pretty decent but he's not a pro, and honestly that's fine by me. He talks about the game itself while playing, the pros and cons of the meta, his opinions, etc... he doesn't seem to force stupid jokes or comment on every single thing he does, which I hate on other youtubers, be it DbD content or any other game. Bricky also has this little series called The Casefiles in which he makes a full review on each Killer, which I enjoyed a lot too.
There's also this guy whose name I can't remember, but he has some videos on easter eggs of Dead by Daylight, hunting the golden toolboxes in each realm and stuff. He was pretty cool too and his videos were interesting.
VincentVega is also a fun guy, I mostly watch his Instagram clips and he just knows how to make most people laugh.
I honestly don't care much about Monto, Noob or, I don't know, Puppers. Don't get me wrong, they all seem like pretty cool people, but in terms of content I prefer to watch the other three I mentioned earlier. JUST gameplay or highlights gets old quickly for me.
-
I consider Hillbilly a tough but fair challenge. Sometimes they hit me with the saw around a corner and I'm like "Hmmm... that should NOT have hit"... but it's not often so I'll let that slide. Huntress has it worse with hitboxes.
Also, he's a god for camping exit gates when there aren't many survivors left to escape, it doesn't matter the distance because he can make the trip in seconds. Unless you're in a closed map. This is a bit annoying but it's not a problem related to the Hillbilly himself.
-
It always depends on the circumstances, but yeah, as said above, they are "strategies". Extremely poor ones, not much skill involved, but still strategies.
And I talk about circumstances because sometimes Killers tunnel or camp you for a specific reason (they got t-bagged / they saw a survivor with a key / They need to attack or hook certain survivors because of a perk). Situations like that I can understand, and it's not toxic at all.
However if a Killer decides to, for example, facecamp you because, I don't know, they don't like your skin, or they got mad because they got juked hard, then yeah, that's pretty toxic and childish. Because that Killer is not doing it because of a strategy, they just wanna ruin your game because they are mad at you.
-
Lery's. Probably the only thing I really liked about the update.
I don't think I like what they did with the Doctor. I used to main him but I don't really like his new playstyle, so I don't know... I'll give it some time though.
I hated going against Ruin, it was just so annoying. That being said, the change completely DESTROYED the perk. I gotta say tho, New Ruin + Surveillance is an interesting combo. Really far away from slowing the game like Old Ruin did, but interesting nevertheless, try that out.
And if there are any more changes, I probably don't care much about them, don't know about them or didn't directly affect my game experience.
-
Gen times should become longer as the match goes on.
Also, if there are multiple/different generators being worked on at the same time, there should be some kind of debuff to the overall speed, because yes, 4 people working on a gen is going to make it pop instantly, but 3 survivors working all on different gens while the 4th one is on a chase can get 3 gens popped in less than 2 minutes of the game, even less with toolboxes.
So, sorry if this is kinda hard to understand (it seemed less complicated in my head!) but I think that's the problem: the base speed is fine and the toolboxes boost is ok, but it shouldn't be like that for all the gens all the time, because that's why they get done so quickly. If this debuff I'm talking about existed, the 3-gen strat would be insane, and that's another reason survivors should be even more careful about it (because sometimes survivors do whatever gen they see and then they do the surprised Pikachu face when they see the last 3 gens next to each other).
TL;DR: Reduce overall gen speed as the match goes on. Apply gen speed debuff when different generators are being worked on at the same time.
-
Not sure about unbeatable builds. But I'm pretty sure about nearly unbeatable Killer mains. Players who know this game like they know their hobbies. Builds only help to make them even harder, but even without them, they can still kick Survivor butts.
-
Odds are only high on launch day, after that it'll slowly decay over the days so it's not that bad, really. I played like 5 games on the 2nd day after the Oni chapter got released and I never got to play the new map, until a couple of days later.
-
I got Rank 1 Killer achievement too and I'm currently at green ranks. The bad thing is, even if it gets fixed, the achievements will stay. I feel dirty having it as I've never reached Rank 1 with killer. :(
-
I hate playing as her. Everything feels so slow.
She can be a good challenge when going up against her. Sure, most Hags use Make Your Choice around hooked survivors to get easy kills. But it works most of the time.
That being said, I don't really care much about her and I often forget that she's a Killer in the game. Just like I always forget Quentin is a survivor.
-
She needs a buff badly.
-
It's fine as an exclusive item. Also, if you really want to blind a Killer, you'll go for a flashlight. Firecracker is for the lols, one use only. You MAY make a save with it if played properly but the flashlight serves the same purpose and you have several chances thanks to the battery, so... yeah. You can also blind your teammates with the firecracker.

This poll is as broken as the matchmaking.

The slowdown is actually amazing, try putting Crate of gears and Bag of gears and you will see how long does it take
It's not that much tbh. By the time you down a 2nd survivor and put a 2nd RBT, the first one will have probably taken their helmet out. This is one of the reasons you don't see Pig at high ranks: Even with her best add-ons, she's not a big threat. Easy to juke, she doesn't slow the game that much, and slow while stealthing with no possibilities of 1 hit KO like other stealth killers (unless you can grab a surv of a gen, but good luck doing that in red ranks).
I stand by my choice that she needs some add-on rework/buff. Let's just agree to disagree. That's the point of a poll post, no?

Her RBT's are for slow donw, not for killing every time
I never said they're meant for always killing, and they don't even slow down that much. Pig's a M1 killer with a bit of stealth after her RBTs are gone, that's my point.
-
I really hope it's original.
-
Her reverse beartraps should be more threatening.
Also the Chainsaw Bros could really use some add-on rework/changes.
-
I normally play Survivor when I'm with my group of friends, and Killer when I'm on my own.
Also the waiting times depend on a lot of factors (time zone, your rank, rank reset, events, new killer/survivors, etc.), sometimes you'll find a game instantly as a Survivor, but not with Killer... the opposite can happen too. And sometimes both take a looong time.
I wish we could get an estimated time while searching, so if I see something like "10 minutes estimated" I'll either change roles or not play at all. Because it's frustrating to wait a long time for a game only for it to end in 1 minute because of a DC in the loading screen, then go back to waiting.
-
I don't see why not.
-
The detection system is a bit flawed but other than that he's pretty balanced imo. A bit annoying to go against too.
-
Because Sabo is no longer meta, Calm Spirit is not very useful and only skilled players can make the most out of Iron Will.
I also don't get why did you leave David out, he's not a DLC character... at least on PC. You can start playing with him right off the bat. I'd say David is a close second because of No Mither, but DH and We're Gonna Farm Forever save him.
