Even if both sides are farming, never forget the position you're in. Survivors who agree to farm will most likely lower their guard. This can let Killers who may not be as good as those survivors in terms of skill to get some free kills when you least expect it. Whether it was a strategy from the start or a sudden change of heart... none of those seem toxic to me. He was still the Killer, he had the power to sacrifice most of you guys whenever he wanted, and he did.
"Survival is your own responsibility". Those who are aware of this can't possibly be mad at the outcome. Unexpected and weird game, sure, maybe even dumb to some... as for Bubba? He got his 3 kills, fair and square.
With all that being said, I'm glad you were a good sport about it and proceeded to take your time and tell the story here.

I mostly play as Bill and Dwight, then Jeff or Ace. I'll play as whoever if I have a specific ritual or Archive mission. But I mostly play as male survivors.
This may be just me, but as a Killer, female survivors who are injured are easier for me to hear, specially characters like Laurie or Jane. Male survivors have low-pitched voices, so sometimes their grunts of pain camuflage with some other low-pitched sounds from the game and I may miss them if they're nearby. Again, this might be just me, but as a result I've often prefered to pick male survivors since I believe they're less noisy, and I don't have Iron Will on most of my survivors.

Nurse's Calling is in a good spot right now. No buffs nor nerfs needed.
Deerstalker, even with numeric buffs, still wouldn't be used as much. If you're a killer who slugs, then it helps a bit, and that's about it.
-
I was going to choose Feng, then I remembered Technician.
-
Honestly, to me it depends on if I'm playing survivor or if I'm playing Killer, and if I am playing Killer, also depends on which one.
Stealth killers, and even the Doctor, can cause mayhem easily thanks to indoor maps. However, if I'm playing as Hillbilly, Huntress, Deathslinger... then rough match for me, most likely.
Speaking of which, the new map looks great but I'm having trouble with the loops as survivor. Maybe it's just me not having played enough, but there are so little window loops... it makes me rely on pallets much more, and I don't like that. Likewise, when I'm playing Killer, if I see a Survivor going into a classroom or a hallway where there are no pallets, then that's pretty much a guaranteed hit. Aesthetically it looks great, but I believe there aren't enough reliable loops. This made my Killer games on that map easier, but I struggle as a survivor.
So again: Depends on the specific map, role I'm playing, and if I'm playing Killer, which one.

Freddy is a great killer, tho you'd be buying that chapter specially for him, cause Quentin's perks are kinda eh... but Freddy is really worth it. Also it's a licensed chapter. While it'd take some time, the other 2 chapters can be farmed with Shards, slowly but surely.
A close second would be Demise. Plague is an interesting killer, she can be REALLY strong with some specific combinations. Jane's mostly ok. It's also good to have her so you can complete the Archives.
Oni's chapter would be last. I personally expected too much of Oni when he was announced and kinda got disappointed, so I'm not really using him. Seems somewhat mid to low tier to me. Some of his perks seem good on paper, but overall, none of them are game-breaking. This also applies for Yui.
At the end of the day, choose whatever you like. But as you said, in terms of profit, A Nightmare on Elm Street would be your best bet.
-
Cause why not. I'd feel bad to have a bunch of add-ons and not use them. Unless they're just... bad, like those speed limiters for the chainsaw bros or the non-damaging traps for the Trapper. Other than those, I always equip something.
The only exception would be Nurse, since I feel most of her add-ons could screw up my muscle memory with her. Sometimes I go with just one "reduced fatigue" add-on, but I mostly prefer vanilla Nurse (as of now). But to be fair, she's one of my least played Killers. I equip add-ons to everyone else if possible.
-
Because they roughly serve the same purpose as flashlights... Yes, there are quite a few differences, but all in all, the results you are looking for with those items are the same (blinding the killer, maybe to save a teammate or simply to disorient them). I guess there's also the fact that they represent celebration, so it makes sense for those to only appear in the event. You can farm them during the event tho, and use them any time you want later on.
Also, if memory serves, they can also blind you and your teammates, right? I bet if they were common, a bunch of unfavorable situations would happen more often.
-
Some characters interest me more than others. I mainly dig Killer's lore (who where they before, what happened to them, etc.), plus Entity lore. Survivors are kinda meh to me, cause you can get a general idea of them by reading the character info, and also not many of them interest me in terms of story.
-
The only thing I can do better with a joystick is a 360, and I still suck at it. PC is just so much more precise, specially when playing killer.
-
I played as Dwight on my first match. It was an extremely smooth game, we were up against a Nurse who hardly used her blinks. No one died and we all escaped, and I think only one person was hooked. In a sense, I'm glad my first game went that way, cause I was so noob at everything and I was afraid of missing skill checks and screwing up my team, so I focused really hard and did my best. Good times.
-
None. I got Bill to P3 but I already have some solid builds with the perks I got, so I don't see the need to go for all P3 perks since half of them are either garbage or extremely situational.
I may go for all T3 perks with Bill once I do P3 to everyone else, and that's going to take a LONG time.
-
The problem is, the more we play, the less scary the game is. Well, it's not like it was spoooky at the beginning, but it could really make you nervous, not knowing what to do in a realm you don't know, against some unknown killer.
This graphical update will most definitely help, but once we get used to it, it'll be like always, at least for people who play this game a lot. It'll probably be scarier for new players, or just people who don't play the game as often as others.
-
Extremely situational. And it's not even out on live servers.
-
... Both?
Positive for Survivors, negative for Killers. Also, in high ranks, good Survivors would just do gens instead of wasting time with the totem. Progress was just a bit slower, yet they still got the job done.
I believe old Ruin was just a band-aid for the classic problem: If gens get done too fast, the Killer will be the one having a rough time unless they're REALLY good at, y'know, being Killer, while average Survivors can just get away with it. However, if the gens repair speed were even slower, the game would drag on eternally. Ruin was that option to "slow down gens a bit, however the effect can be nullified by cleansing the Hex". This is why, since Ruin was reworked, everyone changed to Corrupt Intervention, Thrilling Tremors, even Huntress Lullaby... the changes to the toolboxes didn't do much, to be honest, and I'm saying this as someone who plays both Survivor and Killer equally.
-
All 3 of them can get hard looped, but at least Bubba has the possibility to one-shot, and he can also be a great camper.
Clown's buff (no longer being slowed when throwing bottles) can help a bit, but to me he's not that bad. I've been doing quite decent with him at high ranks, of course with good add-ons and specific perk builds.
Legion, on the other hand... well, lots of stabs, not so many downs. The fact that their Frenzy doesn't count as a basic attack anymore killed a bunch of interesting builds they had. I hope they can get a buff, a rework... whatever helps them to be a bit better.
-
It does look good. I'm not into Silent Hill and I honestly don't feel like getting into it now, but that doesn't mean I'm not interested in this chapter. The map looks neat, Pyramid Head looks menacing and brings some new, interesting mechanics to the table... and the perks that come alongside the survivor seem pretty cool.
I don't care much about Candyman or Pinhead, and honestly I don't think Pennywise will ever be in DbD, so this chapter is fine by me. This also opens up a room full of possibilities, since we could be getting Chapters in the future not just from movies or series, but from other videogames too. This last thing is what excites me the most.
-
What I've noticed is that, since this update, every now and then I get mini-freezes that last for about 1 to 3 seconds during my games. The sound keeps going but the image completely stops, which has completely screwed a couple of my games. This has never happened to me before, and nothing has changed on my side in terms of hardware or software.
I mean, it's great to have updates like these, however IF this update is the cause of me having performance issues, then I'm officially happy and angry, like Ralph. Game looks better but randomly performs worse. Yay? This is of course a problem of mine and may not have happened at all to other players, so I can't say for sure that this issue arised because of the update, however I've seen a few other reports of people having the exact same problem after they updated the game. So who knows...
-
I thought this was a myth.
-
And Doctor.
-
It's a similar case to Pink haired Nea, it seems.
-
Freddy, Doctor, Myers... then a bit of Huntress, and also Clown (even if I get rekt, I just have a good time with him and his laugh). And of course, Cat.
-
A viable Killer who makes survivors be on their guard as soon as they learn who they're facing, just like it happens with a good Nurse, Spirit or Hillbilly. The brutality would be a plus but not exactly mandatory, at least for me.
-
Overall, I've seen better things come out of unlicensed DLC. Also, if you grind enough, you can get them with shards.
-
It feels like years since I last faced a Hag.
-
Both. I think I'm better as a Survivor, but it can get a bit dull after a while. Though the gameplay variety offered by each individual Killer is what keeps me hooked on wanting to go chop-chop-stab-stab as much as playing Survivor.
-
Luck was on my side with this one. Of course I helped myself with some perks and add-ons, but still not an easy task for me. Thought my attempts were mostly ruined by people who disconnected. And I got flashbacks of when I was trying to go for the Myers achievement where you kill them all with Evil Within 3. I'm seriously glad the DC penalty is a thing now, doesn't fully solve the issue but it helps a bit, specially with these things.
-
Trapper's the worst imo. I also agree that the Nurse doesn't need an update.
Hillbilly would be the second in line. And honestly, Wraith doesn't seem thaaat bad to me, it's also a lot better from survivor perspective.
-
Characters and skins already cost a lot of shards, and since this game has content which can only be obtained by paying actual money, I don't see the harm in making the shards a bit more frequent and abundant. Just a bit.
-
- Nichijou, for completely random and nonsensical jokes. Quite funny, though I'm sure not everybody will find it funny.
- Clannad, if you want to laugh and cry equally. Very neat anime adaptation of a great visual novel. It technically has 2 seasons: Clannad, and Clannad After Story.
- Little Busters!, which follows the same path as Clannad. Also 2 seasons, the seconds one is called Little Busters! Refrain. The second season is waaay better adapted, first one has some hiccups and weird transitions, kinda confusing sometimes, but it's still solid.
- Digimon, the first one. People tend to say that Pokemon has the better games, and Digimon has the better anime, and I do agree to a certain extent. The Pokemon anime is repetitive and predictable, while Digimon is quite an adventure where you don't know what will happen next. Second season is kinda meh, and the third is way different, but better than the second. Digimon Frontier (or Digimon 4) wasn't of my liking so I haven't watched anything beyond that.
- Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. An excellent anime, with great characters, solid plot, amazing soundtrack and much more. Just make sure to avoid the filler in Shippuden, and you'll be good to go. It's a shounen so of course not everyone will like it, however it's worth the watch, trust me.
- Finally a guilty pleasure of mine: Danganronpa The Animation. I say guilty pleasure because this is an anime adaptation of another great visual novel, though the game is WAY better than the anime, cause it's just 13 episodes and it feels a bit rushed. I recommend it so people can get into this universe and interest themselves enough so that they can dig into the games. Danganronpa is a murder mystery novel, with some crazy and unique characters. 15 students are trapped in a school and are forced to kill each other if they want to get out. Really, if you watched it and liked it, go play the games for an even better experience!
-
I actually really dig the idea of BS with a unique animation.

Oh. My bad, well I guess I still answered anyway since I mentioned previously "I think it's fine the way it is"
But I feel ya m8, I've had the same situation before. What you can actually do is report your own post, mention you wrote it and ask them to take it down because it uploaded too early before you finished. Make the whole thing over.
It's a bit of a tedious process, but it's basically what the staff suggested when I asked awhile ago.
Gotcha, I'll try with that too, thanks!

I kind of hate that you didn't provide a middle ground poll option. I personally think it's fine the way it is, and if it's ever going to be changed it would have to be something small.

This actually sounds like a great idea (changing the break animation), sort of similar to how they added an animation for Dead Hard so you could better more clearly tell when it was being used.
Please read my initial post, I meant to add 3 more options but I screwed up. And unfortunately, poll options can't be edited.
-
I used to have a nice group of SWF, but 2 of them got burned out of the game and the other one has massive problems with his computer right now. So I go solo, however it's also nice to be fully inmersed in a game without having to talk or listen to others via Discord.
I play Killer occasionally, but truth to be told, I enjoy playing as survivor more, be it solo or with friends.
-
Just reworking the animation of some of them would be fine by me, honestly. I like having 1 mori tied to each Killer, however some of those haven't aged very well, so getting an upgraded version would be ok. Pretty sure the devs can do it, lately we've been getting some gruesome Moris with the last killers.
-
Ah, thanks for that, I wasn't sure if I had to report my own post or pray to the Nurse goddess up there.
-
When I hear a Nurse blinking at the beginning of a round, I always think to myself: "This gonna be gud".
Demogorgon is also fun in a sense, specially when trying to dodge his incoming shred attack. Also, trying to seal his portals not knowing if he's nearby is kinda fun, cause he can appear out of nowhere and make me jump a bit.
-
Unless you're doing a mission from the Archives or going for the David achievement, I can't see why someone would handicap themselves. Also Killers love to tunnel the No Mitherers, so unless they're gods of looping, they'll be going down fast.
Urban Evasion is a close second. Most urban evaders I've met usually don't help much with gens or helping teammates. They're just too busy hiding from the Killer. Of course not all of them are like that, but in my personal experience, most of them were pretty much the least helpful teammate.
-
684 hours and I still suck as the Hillbilly.
-
Good old Doc.
-
The Pantry itself should be reworked. I'm ok with the rest of the map, but that location just drives me nuts, both as a Killer and as a Survivor.
-
Freddy is effective and fun. That's all I have to say.
-
I prefer it as it is now. BT being selfless goes really well with Bill's personality and backstory. If you're going to play hero and protect someone, then the one in danger could potentially be you, instead of the unhooked one. So, to me, it makes more sense that the unhooked person gets temporal inmunity but you don't.
-
I guess this is why Kindred in Solo queue is so useful.
-
Fred has been extremely effective to me after his rework. Not sure if he's my "main", but from this list he's probably at the top. Myers in second, maybe. I actually sort of main Doctor, though I still prefer him as he was before his rework.
-
Weak killer. Really strong perks.
Spirit is a close second.
-
Both can be really strong, but overall Myers has better add-ons, also more variety in terms of gameplay.
-
All Badham variations are more or less the same, the important thing is the school. This location is the one where I pulled some great jukes that helped me survive a match, or at least keep the killer busy. As of now, the school's potential for jukes is really big, however I saw that some changes are coming to this realm, so it may take a hit or two. We'll see.
Close second would be Yamaoka because Killers seem to lose survivors more easily than in the Coldwind Farm levels. That tall grass and bamboo trees are no joke!
-
I first played it at a friend's house back in 2016. The concept interested me but the game didn't have enough content for me to even considering getting it. The only thing that stuck with me was the fact that Bill from L4D was a playable survivor. 3 years later, for some reason, Instagram started to show me DbD videos in the feed. And I don't know, I was really interested in what I was seeing, so everytime I came across videos of the game, I just kept watching them, and eventually I got so interested that I decided to buy it. Probably one of my Steam games with the most hours poured on.

Where's my poll? I want my poll!
