"We've heard your concerns and we've decided to double the speed of healing, also we're nerfing Pig"
I think Pig got some neat addons, and the Amanda’s Letter change was nice.
But yeah, survivors don’t need all the crazy stacking that the devs love to implement.

All four are within a certain range, right? This greatly diminishes the value as it isn't optimal to be together. On the other hand, Hex Totems have no such restriction so my point still stands.
Running to a safe section of the map for free and quick heals is a big deal. Medkits are really strong for a reason, and this is like giving everyone unlimited medkits.
Also: Can be re-lit if snuffed.
Also: Can stack.
Also: Affects all survivors.
Also: No cooldown.
Also: Can replace Hex totems (while Hex perks such as Plaything and NOED can’t replace Boons.
The point is, they’re unbalanced for the current state of the game. A Hex perk requires 1/4 of your loadout, and can be instantly destroyed within 30 seconds. They deserve to have good effects. If a killer snuffs out one Boon, they still have 15/16 other survivor perks to deal with.

Besides Hillbilly's add-ons, can you provide any examples of unjustified killer nerfs?
Pig, Wraith, Deathslinger, etc… the list goes on.

Survivors aren't a monolith, and I can only speak for myself. With that said, I never commented on the balance aspect; I don't think anyone should be surprised that allocating four perks to something makes that highly effective and efficient. It's worth noting that The Killer's perks and add-ons often affect all four Survivors concurrently and in perpetuity, so naturally, balancing them would be different.
And Boon Totems affect all FOUR survivors so they should be balanced differently as well.

If u don't care about 4k every game run whatever u want. On average u should be able to pull off 6 hooks play. But I'm not sure if it counts as win.
6 hooks lol. That’s borderline Entity Displeased.

If you're good with her, you'll be fine. It might take some getting used to with the new power but she's definitely still strong.
So how do you plan to counter safe pallets now that survivors know exactly which side you’re coming from? Ex: Shack Pallet

Okay so just asking how would you enforce the rule of comms falling under 3rd party software abuse?
You simply cannot enforce the prevention of using third party communication. @Madjura is making a dead-end complaint here…
What he SHOULD be complaining about is why in the world would the devs plan a game based around the solo experience knowing full well people can just use Discord, etc. to talk together anyway? That’s the real head-scratcher.

It's kinda like devour hope.
is the main effect good? yeah. but it gets survivors off gens to find the totem, and that's great.
Devour Hope effect is more than “good” lol. And the survivor response to Devour is way more chaotic than Plaything.
There’s been quite a bit of survivors that won’t go out of their way to cleanse Plaything, while with Devour everyone stops working on gens and start running like chickens looking for the totem for the most part. 😂
-
I run into way more survivor cheaters than killer cheaters, anyone know why that is? Killer cheats harder to come by?

What a shocker! Someone allocating 100% of their perks to healing (one of which provides 100% healing speed in dying state) can actually heal fast!! Breaking news everyone, time to shut down the game.
I’m sure survivors would be perfectly ok with Ruin and Pop to work together, right? I’m sure survivors miss Freddy’s old gen slowdown addons that stacked right?
Certain things just shouldn’t stack past a certain point. It breaks the game.

I love Spirit but even I can’t defend this post.
-
Really well thought-out post, reasonable ideas. I don’t agree with some of your suggested changes but I do agree with the overall sentiment.
In the current state, Boon Totems are just immensely beneficial while having virtually zero downside. 20 seconds from ONE survivor to bless a totem is nothing. The time a killer loses WALKING to a Boon Totem and snuffing it is more impactful to the killer than the time one single survivor uses blessing a totem because the survivor has 3 other people progressing the objective.

This was already possible without boon totems though... Desperate Measures, WGLF, Botany. Its why Soul Guard got a cooldown.
The stacking bonuses is pretty crazy though. Circle of Healing is 100%…
-
No, doesn’t fit the game’s theme.
Ash’s movies are pretty comedic, but the genre is still “horror”, I guess.

They do stack yes...obviously this is still in PTB and we're only now collating all the feedback which is being passed to the relevant Teams and everything will get looked at. It's a monitoring situation at present.
Glad to hear you acknowledge that it’s being monitored. I hope the data you’re collecting includes stuff like:

My post wasn't about the game being killer sided or survivor sided. It's about the mentality that neither side will ever be happy with the changes. Because it doesn't favor them, (both sides.)
You’re right that it will be impossible to please everybody, but you can still reach a state in which the game isn’t consistently frustrating to play for either side.

Because people are so propagandized by their "devs are bad" mindset that they will subconsciously ignore anything good that's done and focus on the bad things. And make those up if there aren't any.
It is kinda scary to see how selective the human mind can be with the information it accepts. Makes you wonder if anything we preceive is real or if it's just what we want to see
Good changes don’t balance out the bad ones. Just because the devs gave X killer a few good buffs, that doesn’t mean they are going to be free from criticism when they gut Y killer for no good reason.
Yeah, Trapper buffs were nice and appreciated… but then they completely make Deathslinger unplayable. That is not acceptable.
-
Spirit’s add-on changes are actually neat. I rarely used Father’s Glasses anyway, and the ones that recover your power after breaking a pallet are *chef’s kiss*

I’m saying to make all those changes together.
-
injures only
-
Can’t be balanced, you say? So let’s just buff every killer and tell the survivor community to “deal with it” because this game isn’t supposed to be balanced. Killers all get a 5% movement speed buff, only need 2 hooks to sacrifice, and break pallets in half the time.

If you don't get satisfaction from getting achievements, achievements are not for you.
It’s cool to see I unlocked an achievement, but I don’t get a cosmetic or upgrade in-game for it so I don’t make them my priority.

Almost like bragging that you have the most money at the end of a Monopoly game.

please explain to me how Trapper and Plague got nerfed. And also how returning 3 Blink Nurse is a nerf.
Trapper and Plague were low-mid tier killers that got small buffs to make them less frustrating to play.
Spirit and Deathslinger got nerfs that coddle to survivors for “counterplay” reasons.
3 Blink Nurse will have to wait like 15 seconds for her blinks to recharge lol. Not really a buff.
-
For every survivor that dies, gain a token.
When entering chase with the killer, a token is consumed. At the start of the chase, you gain a speed boost of 5% for 60 seconds. If you have 3 tokens before entering a chase, your speed boost is 15% for 60 seconds.
Yes, you’ll be faster than ranged killers but they’re ranged, so…
Not the best idea, but could be fun if you’re a chase-oriented survivor looking to run the killer as your team starts dying.

Can we at least be grateful for whats possibly the best patch we've ever received?
There hasn't been this many balance changes in 1 patch in the history of DbD.
What exactly makes this the “best patch ever”? The endless buffs to survivor gameplay + killer nerfs?

I don't know what changes they could make to Legion at this point besides a complete overhaul.
Even fixing his add ons leaves the problem of his boring base kit.
Just some ideas:
Fuming Mixtape (Reworked): After hitting 3 survivors with Feral Frenzy, the next Feral Frenzy hit will put a survivor without Killer Instinct in the dying state. Slightly increases duration of Feral Frenzy.
Any of Legion’s worthless purples: After Feral Frenzy ends, any vault locations within 16m of Legion are blocked by the Entity for 10 seconds.
Rework another purple: Hitting a survivor with Feral Frenzy will explode the closest generator to explode, causing it to lose 5% progress and start regressing.

We’ll find out tomorrow.

You know I was being sarcastic right?

@Veinslay said:
My best friend is a Clown main that plays at the highest MMR and he routinely gets 4Ks without using slowdown perks. I'm not sure why you're having so much difficulty with it.
How do you know he’s at the highest MMR? That value is NEVER SHOWN, and “Grades” do NOT equal MMR.
-
But survivors don’t have fun holding M1 on a generator, that’s not the right way to balance the game!!
Oh, and there’s Mr. God Killer who has no problem 4K’ing regularly with no tunneling/camping, no meta perks… so the problem is obviously you.

They are seeing if just the audio nerf will be enough in the PTB. if they determine it isnt they will implement the dust, if it is they won't. I think they are trying to avoid unnecessarily nerfing her which is kind of weird considering how they handled hillbillys nerf.
Well this is the right mindset to go with. I still think the directional audio nerf is sufficient enough counterplay.

to be fair he did say "basically the same".
Saying “basically the same” in the context he did makes it seem like an insignificant change. Keeping him at normal movement speed and retaining the aura reading is a pretty notable change. On an indoor map with Vanity Mirror and Dead Rabbit he can probably wreck some havoc.

I mean killers got the key changes they wanted. But you're never happy lol. Yall should know when you cry for survivor nerfs and get them, survivors get something else strong..
I'm a 60/40 killer player. I play killer 60%. The changes didn't bother me and I welcome more challenges. I don't want easy killer games. I also never camp and tunnel. But I also rarely use totem perks. I think this is a good way for killers to decide more is camping and tunneling worth it? They have a totem now helping them
Always get a chuckle when I see posts like this. Usually people who toot their own horn to degrade other people’s skill are actually average players themselves.
FACT: Killers already have to do tons of micromanaging with gens and survivors, and it gets worse when it’s a huge map and/or heavy pallet or strong tile RNG. Adding a stupid secondary objective to the killer is completely unwarranted and horrible game design if all the devs want to do is “spice things up with totem interaction”.
Here’s a better idea. Make it so cleansed totems can be rebuilt by killers if they have a Hex Perk. I’m sure survivors will be perfectly okay with that, right?
-
It also warms my heart how so many people on this forum are saying the developer update was amazing.
Who cares if Deathslinger is getting gutted or are introducing a half-baked mechanic that will put even more pressure on killers (timewasting) that they didn’t need? We finally got the Hatch update (long time coming) and some killer add-on reworks (some will be good, but there will also be some nerfs) so that automatically makes it a good update.
A good change does counterbalance a bad one, and there’s lots of bad things that will stem from this patch (mainly the boon totems).
-
@Seanzu said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2524731#Comment_2524731
If they weren't blessing the totem then they'd straight up just destroy it anyway?
Ofcourse killers are looking for any reason to be angry at everything even when they don't even know what it'll do, sounds about dbd.
It’s a valid concern. All people are saying is that if Boon Perks can be re-lit, then their effects SHOULD NOT be game changing - which is objectively the way it should be. NOED and Ruin are strong because they can be cleansed. Boon Perks cannot be permanently cleansed so they should have very “meh” effects.

Either way I’m really excited about the add-ons for Pig now.
